People should take a lesson from Joey Ramone: NEVER be ashamed of what you listen to. There shouldn't be any guilty pleasures when it comes to music. It's ok to like whatever you like.
Yes, well remarked. God - the Georgia Satellites. Bluesy bar rock from what I remember from my teenage years - totally even forgot the name. Pretty popular briefly. I remember enjoying something of theirs ( did I have the tape?). At this distance, wouldn't have thought they'd be cool enough for Joey ramone but he was cool and pretty unpretentious about it all really.
Joey was a brilliant lyricist but you wouldn't guess that if you were not a Ramones fan by his interviews where in some of them he fumbled and tumbled...the moral of this story is, please don't condemn someone or judge someone as stupid based on their entertainment-media persona. Some celebrities just, for one reason or another, suck at that. But many of them are beautiful, intelligent people beneath their awkward persona, as Joey was.
AC/DC and Motorhead are perfect, definitely a similar attitude to the Ramones of keeping true to your rock n' roll self. i always lump those 3 together in a certain way. The satellites a surprise to me, good time blues rock. good stuff but a surprise, this made me want to listen to them(so i am). surprised he didn't name check ANY hardcore or alt rock, but ok, he's got nothing to prove for sure!
Joey was a wealth of information and an absolute treasure.

Funny coming from a guy with a steely dan name lol
@@ralphtom3431It's one of the many colorful nicknames my friends have given me over the years. I used it as my DJ handle for a while.
To be as cool as Joey Ramone. One cool cat. Much love.
Ramones AC DC and Motörhead all of the same ilk. Never changed once really
Oh man, the Keith Haring intro. Makes this vid even better.
