To all you saying that Richie isn’t a real Ramone; he played on the albums and over 500 shows, wrote and composed songs, and showed more compassion towards Joey and his memory here than any of the other members at their Hall of fame speech bar Tommy. He was also along with CJ and Tommy the only members to attend Joey’s funeral.
good post. it is anyway silly to discuss who was a "real" Ramone. The band went through many years, with changes, it evolved, and made great songs throughout. The best we can do is to stop such discussions and play their music, possibly through an instrument! Peace to all
@Anderson Cooper Best Ramones drummer. 3 great albums. Period. That makes him a Ramone, whether you like it or not. Plus the fact that you say Ramones ended at 1982 makes everything you say useless. They did great things til the day they broke the band. Maybe you didn´t appreciate it, or you got stuck at their most famous era. Not Cool.
@Anderson Cooper I mean he was défi tely there best drummer and penned some great songs.. Somebody put something in my drink is an all time fave of mine
+Electron John lol really? Even though he played 500 + shows with them and played also on 3 albums with the band and also he was the only other Ramone besides Joey and Dee to write songs for the band. If you think Richie Ramone is not a "Real" Ramone just cause he's not an original Ramone like Dee Dee, Joey, Johnny, and Tommy than Marky is not a "Real" Ramone either.
@Anderson Cooper C'mon that's not true, Richie is the one who wrote "Somebody put something in my drink" which is a great song, and he played in "Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" which is a Ramones classic, I think he gave an important contribute to the band
CJ too, I think. I didn't at first bc after Dee Dee I just didn't much care to listen but after I watched.. I think CJ earned his place in the Ramones and I never thought I'd say that.
@MrsButterflyTattoo CJ came to Paraguay and then went to Argentina at the time. He said in a radio interview in Paraguay that he didn't need an award to get recognition, that he has all the recognition he needs from Joey and Johnny.
Someone commented this on another Ramones related video on YT “Richie was the best drummer, Marky had the most passion and spirit for the Ramones and I wouldn’t wear a shirt without Tommy on it.”
Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realise they were the big things Ramones were a musical supernova outshining the known universe and creating a new one.
They should have given the Ramones the respect they deserved and airing more then the 3 seconds they were alotted on TV! Tommy should have been on stage for the acceptance and sorry bro, but the Ramones WERE on MTV back in the day!
READ THE BOOK WRITTEN BY MICKEY ABOUT JOEY. I bought it recently. I didn't know their path was that difficult. You won't be disappointed 👍🏼📚🎶🎸🤠♠️🎼🇫🇷🇨🇭🌺😊
Surprised to see Richie rather than Tommy or Marky as the on-stage drummer. But whatever. I listened to the Ramones a lot in the 70s, and I'm still listening to them a lot four decades later. A great rock'n'roll band.
You don't get much better than the Ramones. I am a early seventies baby and I did not consider their early stuff punk. Regardless, loved them and always will.
where's CJ? I like that Osaka Popstar guy, but CJ should be the guy to talk about Dee Dee. Glad Richie was there, funny that he didn't go to the podium with Tommy and Mark. But then I understand that Richie and Marky have never spoke in their lives.
Anderson Cooper That’s what Marky says, but he has personal issues with CJ. Johnny and Joey, and even Tommy and Dee Dee, have all said CJ was important.
@@joel8750 tbh Idk what I meant by this comment and was probably high when I made it. Now I'd say that Richie is definitely a lot more humble at the least. I don't listen to the Ramones that much anymore. What makes you say they aren't similar though?
@@flamingcabbage8359 Marky is a bit of a cunt, Richie isn’t. I don’t know them, but that is just what I can see. I met Richie once some years back, and was happy to take time to sign my records, Too Tough To Die shirt and take a few pictures. Haven’t met Marky yet, but I doubt he’d treat a fan poorly.
Thank you to Mickey for Joey's part there...and just hate that Linda has the nerve to keep showing her ugly self-- although, just as well she reveal her truer evil side to what she's done to Joey..AND than to Johnny's mother; but than again, we all come from some sort of dysfunctions...Johnny did not like his mom where Joey loved his mom...Beautiful Charlotte is now w/ her beloved son --hang in there, Mickey

@Anderson Cooper fucking make me
@Anderson Cooper
That's a foolish thing to say.
I wasn't crazy about him being in the band but looking back he earned his Merit

Crazy good band. Joey was so humble n beautiful. The band was crazy talented. Johnny n Dee dee were so talented. Pure rock n roll.
Richie should have been inducted in the R'n'R Hall of fame to
TheDukeOfPannekoeken nah...

@Ramones By they you mean Johnny
Huge respect to Richie Ramone - what a guy.
It's about god damn time that the Ramones get some recognition!
ok autum calm down already dont get hostile

I love the Ramones. One of the best bands ever.
unpopular opinion: i feel like linda's actually pretty punk rock.she turned all the criticism directed towards her into fun and dettachment
She really does. She still does that. I admire strong women even if they are not well liked.
Richie is the best drummer they ever had.
joelawson33 mark Ramone was the best
joelawson33 Markey#1 Richie #2 Tommy #2 just like bass Dee Dee #1 CJ #2
Someone commented this on another Ramones related video on YT “Richie was the best drummer, Marky had the most passion and spirit for the Ramones and I wouldn’t wear a shirt without Tommy on it.”
@Anderson Cooper I love Halfway to Sanity and Too Tough to Die. Those are my favorite Ramones albums.
@Anderson Cooper he wasn’t fired, he left
Touching *and* humorous. Lovely tributes to keep the memory and music alive. Great job, Mickey.
Beautiful Speech by Mickey and Richie! Yay!!!!!
Richie Ramone rules!!!

Amazing speech , especially for Joey
Lo más grande, The Ramones!

This was long overdue...
Yeah, I miss CJ too. But great speeches here anyway
@BrickUnit No, Mickey is keeping the legend alive.

So Linda...Are you with Leon now?
She used Joey to get to Johnny
Mickey you legend!
mas ke merecido!vamos los ramones!
JOEY foi e será o melhor...
Read Mickey Leigh's book
" I slept with Joey Ramone"
You won't be sorry
@BrickUnit The man is working to put out another Joey solo album..cmon dude show some respect.
aguanten los RAMONES y ARGENTINA!!
Richie was an underrated drummer that got gipped out of royalties just because he wasn't a founding member. Saw him play twice with the Ramones.
Those two shows would have blown you away.
According to a reliable source, CJ had shows in South America. That's why he wasn't there. I wish he woulda been there too.
Mickey meant greatest band since the Beach Boys, saying the beatles was a gag,; thank you M.D. Chapman. 💯
@WarmCuddles Tommy and Marky ware on stage for the acceptance. They're in a different video, it's online too.
Микки и Ричи красавцы
who is the guy of the red hair
John Cafiero, he is Dee Dee Ramone's Estate manager
"Bump Justin Bieber"
Ramones 4 ever
the ramones were the true originals everything else was a poor imitation
You don't get much better than the Ramones. I am a early seventies baby and I did not consider their early stuff punk. Regardless, loved them and always will.
Why no one mention CJ Ramone?
@GuilleGoony Thanks for letting me know. I'll let my friend know.
@94ivancho i think it is Clem Burke
Where's CJ?
I wondered that also
And Marky
where's CJ? I like that Osaka Popstar guy, but CJ should be the guy to talk about Dee Dee. Glad Richie was there, funny that he didn't go to the podium with Tommy and Mark. But then I understand that Richie and Marky have never spoke in their lives.

Wheres CJ
linda/ono ramone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ADTNMusic no, mickey should get a job, its the fans keeping the legacy alive
Mickey is living off joeys talent
Who spoke for Dee Dee?
Good Bunnies get the carrots was from Markey
What was MTV's issue with the Ramones? Why wouldn't they play their videos?
I'm pretty sure Marky and Richie resent each other, but they seem like remarkably similar people
I don’t see them as similar at all.

That lady , Linda looked kind of ridiculous, 🤗
So the general idea behind punk rock was to give it a GOOD name???
What does Corey Feldman have to do with the Ramones??

What the hell's Corey Feldman doing accepting the award for Dee Dee?
Richie in, Marky out.
like !!!
linda's outfit is hideous
The real ramones: dee dee , Joey , tommy , Johnny .
