Thank you! I changed the housings on my daughters switch, joycons and dock but afterwards the dock wasn't charging the switch. From your clear images I could see that I hadn't reseated the ribbon cable correctly and was able to fix the problem.👍
I had a green light on my dock but no signal to the tv. After checking the connections and cleaning the dock, it was the same. I layed the dock flat to check the cords, after reconnecting the power cord it worked on my tv. The tv signal was lost when I placed the dock upright. Upon diagnosing, I found the springs on my dock were really old and soft. When the switch is on the dock, it is too heavy for the springs and bottoms out. The switch has to be at a certain level, not too high and not too low for signal to reach the tv. That's where the springs are needed, and I used replacements from the 390 piece kit shown in the video.
I have just watched your other video regarding dock not providing to TV. I would mention checking the contacts of the type C plug before re-assembly for any broken legs. Helpful video. 👍
The spring loaded part of the dock is just to help reduce the force needed to pull the switch out of the dock, it also helps line up the connector. The switch knows it's docked by the connector itself.
You can purchase dock shell replacements and those will include springs and screws. Extreme rate has a dock that easier on the port and the switch and has less of a chance of scratching the screen.
Also the extreme rate dock has a replacement ribbon cable you can use as well. Not too bad for $20. It has a copy of all the springs and screws if you lose them
Mine does not have that many screws after you remove the back piece. It only has the 3 visible silver screws. I used a flashlight and there are no other screws. In fact in 3 of the spots you point to and highlight it is now flush there and no screw hole.
I've tried everything to get this to power up. It has rarely been used. Purchased the switch olead in 2021 and never expected to have to replace it already but I'm assuming the springs are why mine isn't receiving power also.
Hi! I watched your other videos, and they're really helpful! But do you have any videos on how to replace front house panel of the switch? I need to replace mines but i haven't found a video that makes me comfortable enough to try it myself.
How do you turn off the vibration on an Xbox One controller? I'm playing Fallout 4 and I thought I turned it off, but it's still vibrating. I thought of you first. I will not watch another's video, I will wait until you make one or I just won't turn it off. #loyalty EDIT: I found the video you already made on how to do that. Thanks anyways!!!!
I just completed a similar video of the Switch itself: ruclips.net/video/aE8PKVAhGMU/видео.html

Thanks for the vid bro! My switch wasn’t playing on the tv😢 found your vid and now it’s completely fixed😁
Great video, much better shots, resolution and attention to detail than other videos.

Is there anything inside the front facing part of the dock? I mean the front panel with the switch logo.
Great video BTW, very clear. ❤
Mine got mad dusty so i had to clean jt and forgot how to put it back together 💀
Both docks are pretty similar, everything is the same except the shell and the Ethernet jack. Both models have the screws in the same locations.
the only reason why I watched this was because i wanted to see the teardown lol

Thanks for the info
measuring the springs would have been really helpful
