I find it so refreshing that you always incorporate all the products that have been out for ages - comparing new to what we already have is THE most important part of reviews these days with all the oversaturation. Much love ❤
The Chanel No 1 has been a revelation for me, I adore it. My usual Chantecaille is even fighting for first place, but the Chanel is pipping it. It goes ok beautifully, looks wonderful all day & feels like skincare more than a foundation. I’ve worn it every day & my sensitive, dry skin loves it. One pump looks so natural, 2 builds to a medium finish, yet still looking fabulous. It’s just perfect.
I ABSOLUTELY love this FOUNDATION video!!! I have tried three of them in which I have really enjoyed immensely. I have been wanting to try the kind of expensive Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate but I feel guilty even thinking about purchasing it….when I go back and forth and listen to your full face foundation tutorial on Shade and Illuminate I tell myself just bite the bullet and purchase it. Right now I have at least 13 higher priced foundations and I really enjoy them. At 75 years young do I really need another one??…….MAYBE 🤔 😜!!!
I need to know how you did your bun. It’s very pretty. I practically live in a messy bun, but yours looks so lovely. You also look very pretty in green.
Just picked up the new Nars foundation (getting ready to apply it) but from the small amount I put on my face yesterday when choosing the right shade, it looks beautiful. Can't wait for that video...
I just have to comment on this video. I love your picks and all the descriptions, BUT you just look so good!! The make-up look you’re wearing just suits you so much and you’re looking just gorgeous!
Hi being a registered nurse i have to rely on estee lauder double wear as i work upto fourteen hours a day in intensive care and boy are we busy , so i have to use a very adaptable foundation and with double wear , i have that , with the choice of three , water base , light , and original, and it depends on the weather or if the caretaker has turned down the heating ! bless him , but its the best foundation in the world for a busy nurse who sometimes doesn’t come up for breath ! its wonderful its never let me down ever and thats with a light layer but set ! most important! days off i wear Armani Silk it’s gorgeous ! or Tom Ford.
The new NARS and Shiseido Radiant Lifting foundation are both amazing esp for combination-oily skin. It has a beautiful finish and lasts on my skin without getting too shiny or having to set. I tried the CT Beautiful foundation which did not work as it made my t-zone super shiny after a few hours and I had to set at least 2 times over 10 hour period. I don't think the claims of a 16 hour wear and blurring effect are true. I also found the CT foundation difficult to achieve a medium -full coverage without feeling like I had a lot of makeup on my skin. I think CT is probably more suitable for normal to dry skin.
Thank you Charlotte, I start with a comment just to tell you it is such a pleasure to listen to you. I am French and I just love your accent which I find delicious 😊... And now I'm going to listen to your video carefully 😘😘😘...
Wow you are stunning in this video!!! The way your top makes you skintone glow, the eye makeup too. Absolutely gorgeous Charlotte, totally loving this look here. I have been 100% obsessed with the new Nars light reflecting foundation, it really makes my skin look flawless and feels weightless, not to mention the shade match for me it just right. CT beautiful skin did not work for me, and there is a few more I would love to try, but I have my heart set on trying the new Kosas next!
Your makeup looks beautiful in this video! I have the Chanel No. 1 and absolutely love it. One pump does my whole face, but I do a little spot concealing over the redness on my cheeks with the Cle de Peau concealer before applying the foundation. Then one light coat of Chanel No. 1 and my skin looks natural, but perfected, for the whole day. It is my new favourite foundation. Thank you for your thorough review of all these foundations.
I agree with you Charlotte I'd prefer my foundation to not have SPF in it, i like that you didn't rank them because i do think you have to use a foundation for a couple of months to know how you feel about it, thats why i love videos using nothing new. The new Nars foundation is released here in the UK i ordered it from the Nars site on Feb 1st and Royal Mail delivered it on Thursday so am going to use it today 😀 I'm so excited for this foundation i hope it doesn't let me down 🤞
I have very dry skin and live in an arid region. I took a chance and got the Lisa Eldridge foundation and am delighted with it, both finish and wear. I need to wear a hydrating primer with it, but it truly is beautiful.
Have you tried Kbeauty moisture gel? I’m told aloe vera makes a brilliant primer, & I’ve experimented with using Pyunkang Yul. It doesn’t work well for me under a colour base, but it DOES work nicely for a night moisture retention product OVER an essence & treatment & holds up well with a treatment cream on top. It really helps prevent the overdrying of an overnight HYA left exposed to air circulation, of say a fan or AC.
I've been testing out the no 1 de Chanel foundation, and on my dry skin it dries down perfectly. There's no tackiness or transfer even without setting powder, which is the ideal for dry skin! Also it's sooooo beautiful. I love a light coverage though so it's definitely my favorite!
Foundation to me is like my outfits - the requirements are always changing. I can say the Chanel no.1 is my favourite but only for certain situations AND skin conditions. On a wonderful skin day, I love the Chanel No.1, however, that changes when my skin is crap! This is why I have approx 60+ of the little beggars, all fighting for attention. I tell you Charlotte, the decisions are very real 😱 Love ya 💗💗💗💗
Chrissy, I'm the same. It depends on how my skin is that day, so I have to have multiple foundation. I probably have more than I need, but what can I say? I'm obsessed with makeup. 🤣
Excellent video. Very informative thank you. Charlotte have you ever tried the Kevin Acouin sensual skin foundation.? If not would you be prepared to try it and give us your opinion on it. Apparently you use the tinest amount and it goes a very long way??? Love your Chanel.
Your eyes are like emeralds in this video. I’m guessing the makeup and your beautiful green top are accentuating their color. Just beautiful. Great video Charlotte!
Brilliant video again. I'm useless at finding the correct shades for me, where would be the best place to find out which colours would be best please ? I also love that mascara on you, I couldn't see it listed in the description though, which brand is it please ? ❤️
Yas I was expecting this video! I want to get a new foundation but I’m leaning towards Shiseido radiant lifting one. So helpful to know the comparisons with the new ones. I love your eyeliner look 💕
The Lisa Eldridge foundation is so nice when I put it on but ends up looking bad hours later. But I have always set it with powder because I always set with powder. I’m going to try it again with my cream products and see what happens. I want it to work so bad!
Thanks so much for banging on about the SPF - I live in Australia so SPF is an absolute must but I need to take care of that on my own with an actual SPF product - the SPF in a foundation is not going to cut it here. Plus, I am allergic to physical sunscreens so that rules out most foundations with SPF - I agree with you! They should just stop!!
Your makeup is stunning Charlotte, such a pretty look ❤️ great video too, really good to hear your thoughts. I LOVE the Chanel no. 1 foundation, it’s my new fave xx
I suppose we had such a slew of foundations that came out last year...so many choices, maybe TOO many?. Where and what do you choose? That's why I appreciated your sharing these products, Charlotte, with the pros and cons.
What hairdryer do you recommend for ✨ shine ✨ ❓ I don’t have very much hair, I’ve been balding for decades. But I have grown out my hair during COVID & I got a trim a few days ago & the blow dry MADE IT SHINE. She didn’t apply any products, because I asked her not to do so (I don’t need to be balding with scalp inflammation redness & irritations). It can only be the hair dryer. Certainly I don’t wanna spend any BIG Dyson money for so little hair, but the last hair dryer I had was a Braun, in the 80s. Since it started hormone thinning, I just towel & air dried. But that SHINE was something & I wouldn’t mind that every so often
Look at the eyeliner girl! Who ever would have thought to use an eyebrow pencil! I use light brown in Huda for my brows but I'm definitely going to order soft black to try the inner wing! Your eyes are poppin'
I so needed this video! I cannot make a decision between the CT, Shiseido and the new Nars. I just keep waffling back and forth. I would go with the CT but I’m scared it will look too greasy.
Do you like Pat McGraths Skin Fetish foundation? I love it but I've only tried the charlotte tilbury, the shesido one and lis edridge. So wondering on what you think of it?
Need that Chanel! The shisedo for me I can’t knock it off top spot ! I need to try the Tom ford more I’ve only had it a few weeks! I like the CT but it doesn’t wear well on me like it just disappears from my chin completely 🤷🏽♀️
Thanks so much for replying .. just watched them there .. Have you tried the new LYS foundation on cult beauty it’s a great price and would love to hear your opinion on it x
Thank you for an overview...based on this video, it just validated my decision that the Lisa Eldridge foundation I have and ❤ is all I need and don't need to waste money on others.
Charlotte where is your green top from. I have a dress in that colour and would love a top in same colour , I cant find one anywhere xx Thankyou . Love the video . Thumbs up xx
You look gorgeous, the messy bun is perfect and I love your makeup, I immediately scrolled to see what you are wearing and yes.. I need to order that Chanel blush. I need to watch one of your ' you don't need' 'talk you out' videos lol
Can’t wait to see a future ranking 😁. I think I’m going to de clutter my Futurist. It seems to be separating in the tube 🤨. I prefer a Satin finish because my t-zone gets oily, especially in Summer. Lately I’ve been enjoying the Lisa Eldridge, PMG, and Rare Beauty foundations. Although, since we are in Winter, I do add luminous primers underneath right now.
You and Patty Alonso recommended the Chanel foundation. I had to buy it after seeing it on both of your faces and hearing you say “smooth” repeatedly. I live in Canada where it is frightfully cold right now. I have dry, aging skin and I absolutely love it! I have worn this foundation set and unset, and while I enjoy it a wee bit more if I set it, I still love it unset. I find it does cover my redness with about a pump and a half. My skin is ghostly white so my redness looms large without primer and foundation.
I personally always prefer and look for a high spf foundation because I rarely go out at night or take flash photography. lots and lots of love from Australia xox.
I really enjoyed your review on these foundations. Unfortunately, the CT did not work for me AT ALL, which was disappointing, since I love soooo many of her products. I have dry skin. I have the Cle de Peau radiant foundation, and I agree with you on this. Love it! I am almost finished with the EL Hydra Recescue, and I really enjoyed it, great shades and undertones, like you said. Way better than the CT, every one, imo. But, that’s just my opinion. I need to try the new Chanel, and the Shisedo radiant. I have never had problems with flashback when being photographed with spf foundations on. I now have been sampling the Tom Ford, Shade and Illuminate, oh my goodness! If I was getting married tomorrow, THAT would be my wedding day Foundation. I need to try LE, but her medium samples are out of stock. I hear it could be somewhat drying. Still, want to try it.
You’re talking about the Chanel No 1 foundation and that it’s not covering your redness, I would recommend a BR shade, BR22 works brilliant for me and I always had shade 20 in my previous Chanel foundations, BR does the trick, trust me ☺️
The charlotte tilbury foundation didn't work for me. It was too sticky and disappears at the end of the day. Tom Ford and Dior glow are much better for me as I like light to medium coverage and glow
Love this. I have been saying I want to purchase the TF but the $$ keeps me from purchasing it. I really like the new CT. The LE is a bit drying for my skin. I am thinking about the Nars over the Chanel. I am excited for the Nastasha Denora new palette. HVe a heat weekend.
If you take any photos you will get bounce back which basically makes your face bright white 😅😅 so it rules those foundations out for weddings, parties or evenings out where you might want to take a nice photo and md not look crazy 🤪🤪
@@CharlotteHoldcroft Thank you, I've learned something new! BTW, I love your accent, too. I'm Italian, and I get the best of both worlds: listening your voice and learning something new about make up, which I love!
I haven’t missed your NARS Light Reflecting Foundation review, have I? I’m loving it so far and I’m curious to know your thoughts! Edit: of course I got to the end of the video and you mentioned the NARS 😂 my bad. Looking forward to it!
Hello Charlotte!!! Loved this super helpful! I am struggling though choosing the shades, makes me thing I am daltonic 😅 I want to take the chance to ask you about free people as I see you mentioned it on your favourites. I live in Belgium and when I have purchased from them duties we’re as high as the price of the whole lot 😖 do you experience the same I. The Uk?
Just ordered the cleau de pau (which I am sure I have spelt wrong) but very excited as £33 off on Harrods :) Also for the lava lustre Tom Ford palette too which they had!
Great can't wait 💞👑💞 I hear great things but then I'm not so keen on the new Charlotte Tilbury tbh maybe it's me also I tried the face atelier ultra foundation pro wow it looks like skin it's amazing I mix it with a bit of the Valentino foundation as I got the wrong shade and wow it's amazing so far 💞👑💞
Eye makeup looking fantastic, was so hoping it was Biba and yes 😊. I've yet to try eyeliner technique but I will! Two foundations I'm going to try next when I need to replenish, chanel number 1 and shesido radiant lifting. Tbh, I'll probably work through all your loves, eventually. That's how much faith I have in you. You've yet to let me down 👍
I’m really sad, I know how much you love the shade and illuminate foundation and I already had the traceless Matte which I really enjoy but I prefer a more dewy foundation and I had been dying to try the shade and illuminate but I didn’t wanna spend $150 because the sheer glow from Nars is a third of the price and it’s my tried and true but anyway I finally got it on sale at the Bergdorf sale last week and I don’t love it but one thing I did notice is that my color that I have for the traceless Matte I ordered the same one in this and it’s definitely lighter so that could possibly be one of the reasons why I don’t like it I don’t hate it but I don’t love it and for $150 foundation I really should be loving it
Hi Charlotte. I, like you, prefer foundations without SPF, on me all of them leave my skin with a grey tone, I don't know why but they do, I'm warm olive. Love the eyes, that eyeliner looks beautiful on you, very flatering. Kisses from your vacation destination, Portugal, hope to see you and your beautiful family here again soon

I can't wear BR shades at ALL, they make me look completely grey 😅😅
@@CharlotteHoldcroft ow, hmmm, that’s not good, we do not want to look grey 🐁 lol xx
🤣🤣 I've got enough grey on my head! lol x
@@CharlotteHoldcroft 😂 so do I
I really appreciate this video. Great comparisons. You look lovely today. What products did you use for this look?
Oops. Found what you’re wearing. Lol
🥰🥰🥰
Does NOBODY use Sensei?
I loooove this! Many many thanks.
Fantastic video. So complete and informative
The charlotte tilbury foundation didn't work for me. It was too sticky and disappears at the end of the day. Tom Ford and Dior glow are much better for me as I like light to medium coverage and glow
Thanks for sharing!!
Love this. I have been saying I want to purchase the TF but the $$ keeps me from purchasing it. I really like the new CT. The LE is a bit drying for my skin. I am thinking about the Nars over the Chanel. I am excited for the Nastasha Denora new palette. HVe a heat weekend.
Why can’t you go out in the evening with a foundation with an spf? Is there any side effects?
I think it may just be due to the flash back you’ll get if you take flash photos in the evening and night…
@@cabrooker I’m not that famous…. 😉
@@angelabenigno lol you and me both!!
I love that top on you !!!
Thank you x
Love your content!! ❤️
Hey Charollet… love the eyeliner today👌👌
Yay! Thank you!
I am struggling though choosing the shades, makes me thing I am daltonic 😅
I want to take the chance to ask you about free people as I see you mentioned it on your favourites. I live in Belgium and when I have purchased from them duties we’re as high as the price of the whole lot 😖 do you experience the same I. The Uk?
No we don't pay duties! But they do have a separate UK site x
Just ordered the cleau de pau (which I am sure I have spelt wrong) but very excited as £33 off on Harrods :) Also for the lava lustre Tom Ford palette too which they had!
Ooooh winner!!! x
Thanks for this one lovely, so helpful!❤️
Will you be trying the new nars foundation as I trust your opinion 💞👑💞
Yes I will x
You've yet to let me down 👍
Awww that's so lovely to hear x
Your eyes look wonderful💕
How about the " Tom Ford TRACELESS FOUNDATION STICK " ?
Love the eyeliner today. Thank you for this video. I was wishing someone would do this. This is the best, you are the best. :)
Thank you so much!!
The Chanel No. 1 foundation is $110 in Australia. Would you pay that much for it? I’m struggling to justify the purchase.
$110 AUD is around £57 so its priced almost exactly the same here as in Aus x
True, good point 😊 thank you. I think I will try to get my hands on some samples first
👏👏👏LOVED THIS🥰
I’m really sad, I know how much you love the shade and illuminate foundation and I already had the traceless Matte which I really enjoy but I prefer a more dewy foundation and I had been dying to try the shade and illuminate but I didn’t wanna spend $150 because the sheer glow from Nars is a third of the price and it’s my tried and true but anyway I finally got it on sale at the Bergdorf sale last week and I don’t love it but one thing I did notice is that my color that I have for the traceless Matte I ordered the same one in this and it’s definitely lighter so that could possibly be one of the reasons why I don’t like it I don’t hate it but I don’t love it and for $150 foundation I really should be loving it
Hi Charlotte.
Like with SPF … get another foundation for evening simple
