      Me, too. My usual, tried & true, forever make-up I thought I'd be buried with has been discontinued! It was perfect for aging skin (and aged, too). So I'm looking for a dupe. I was using Jane Iredale's "GLOW TIME MINERAL BB CREME CREME". They've dust discontinued it and 'replaced it' with 3 different products, Primer, Foundation & Setting lotion. Ijust need a new lightweight full coverage foundation for mature skin.

      Exactly. I’m 59 and I can’t find anyone over 50 using a good foundation. Even so called ones for deep wrinkles and lines / mature skin. One that doesn’t dive right into the lines which is not a pretty sight lol I really wish I could find a channel with someone my age and older.

    Truly appreciate that you feature the high end and the lower end priced products. At 70 years old, I still like to wear makeup when I go out, and I want it to look appropriate for my age group. We can buy her book and read it, won't make up for seeing her and family on a regular basis and most of all how to do or make changes in our homes. Will miss her for a long time to come, I check in to her videos every day. I'm missing her so much already,. She is like part of my life. Will miss her and her Husband her mother and Styles. two years ago she was a beautiful woman. Now I haven't seen a video of Dominique in a long time and I am shocked. An artificial face looks at me, with glued-on eyelashes that look cheap and lips sprayed on. then a soft focus and you call that "natural". I'm sorry, I don't understand that, and I'm also sorry for Dominique that she is not getting on well with aging. or so it seems. It is not easy for anyone, but especially difficult for women who used to be very beautiful and who would look much more beautiful and natural without all these "aids". That doesn't really help women in similar situations. I can only hope that she knows ,when it is better to stop doing things like this. Pity!!!

    I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the fact that you always include drugstore brands as well as higher end products in your reviews. I use both, and sometimes find the drugstore brands work better than the priciest cosmetics available. For example, I have been using L’Oreal True Match foundation for many years, and like it better than some super expensive foundations I have tried. (Based on your review, I am going to try the L’Oreal Visible Lift foundation, though, to see how it compares.) L’Oreal‘s Infallible Flash Cat Eye Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner is also the best waterproof eyeliner I have ever used. My eyes tend to water a little bit all the time, and it is the ONLY eyeliner that never, ever smudges or runs. For the high-end foundations, I really thought the IT Cosmetics one looked gorgeous on you. I might have to try that one out, too!

    • @MyCleverHandle

      Try e.l.f. No Budge eyeliner retractable pencil. Absolutely waterproof. Even for tightlining and waterline applications, which I don't do anymore. Only three colors available that I know of, but the Charcoal is plenty dark, don't need the Black. And the Brown is perfect with most color schemes of eyeshadow.

    • @TheKiwibirder
      @TheKiwibirder 2 года назад +4

      @@MyCleverHandle Thanks! I will! I don’t tightline, either. I like the look, but it irritates my eyes, and I’ve not found a “waterproof” eyeliner (including MakeUp Forever Aqua Resist and Urban Decay 24/7) that doesn’t end up transferring to my lower waterline.

I can't explain how much it means to people, like myself, who do not have limitless resources to purchase "high end" products at the drop of a hat. Dominique, to her credit, chooses products that get the "job done" and if these can be found at a drug store or supermarket, all the better. She has a way of making you feel accepted, comfortable in your own skin, and that feels pretty good.

    Thank you so much for doing the reviews, and I will mention that the Urban Decay color was too yellow on you. I think it needs a little bit more pink undertone added to it. The IT one was just great but possibly one shade warmer as it looked a little more pale on you. I absolutely loved that you did this!

    HI!! Love, Love, Love your broadcasts and have been watching you for years! You are such a joy to watch. Congratulations on your big move. I wish you all the best in everything you do! Very glad to hear you will continue your broadcasts!
    I'm sooooo glad you did the foundation for mature skin. I will definitely try some of the products you've mentioned.
    My BIGGEST problem with most foundations is.... they never sink in and always remain on top of my skin and feel tacky and wipe off on everything.
    Years & years this has been my problem. During those years, I never wore foundation bc of that reason. I've always had nice skin and barely freckles or age spots.
    After my Hysterectomy 6 years ago, EVERYTHING changed. Skin tone and spots especially. I exfoliate 2-3 times a week and moisturize. What do you recommend that maybe could help with getting foundation to sink in & not sit on my skin?
    Appreciate you sooo much Dominique!

    That was a great demo. At a good healthy 76 I seem to go thru a twice a year argument with my skin. Completely having to change my foundation. It gets expensive finding the one or two to use. Also frustrating in the meantime. So now that we’re heading toward winter I at least have direction. I’m not really really wrinkled but have those marionette lines that can look really rough with the wrong makeup… thanks so very much for your opinion ❣️

    Hi Dominique! I’m so glad I found you… mind you, while I was finishing up in the kitchen @11:30 pm! I watched the how to apply and not to apply eye makeup. For some reason as 2022 rolled in, I just had this inner feeling of change. I knew something is happening to me beyond what I thought were my plans. As I am embracing this journey and move towards change, the feeling of calm and authenticity really feels so good and exciting. Thank you, thank you for all you do. Sending you positive energy in your own journey. Journeys are what makes us human.

    Thanks, Dominique. I have mature skin, but it's oily. I have found some moisturizing foundations actually work well for me. Maybe the added moisture tricks my skin into producing less oil. I love the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better foundation and find it to be an excellent choice. I also have your choice in the Estee Lauder foundation. Love it too! Some heavy, matte foundations are tough as they accentuate lines and texture so even with oily skin, I think the moisturizing aspect is important! Loved your reviews! ~Nancy
