Thanks for the reviews Stephanie. I have found many RUclipsrs have stopped doing foundation reviews with wear tests so I really appreciate when someone goes the extra mile. 😊❤️
I got matched for the new Studio Fix at a MAC store and they gave me a generous sample. I never tried the original. I’m 57 with textured skin that gets very shiny tru the day. So far I am loving it. Really smooths my skin. I still get shiny but when I blot makeup still looks great. I love your concealer and foundation videos. Ty
I would say the finish is satin. Tried it over my Elta md sunscreen and it did not look good. Broke up and looked dried and patchy. I’m still experimenting
I like Chritian Dior forever matte. I was using Estee Lauder Double Wear for years. Still use both but the Christian Dior does not look as dry on my 60 year old combination skin.
Stephanie, you are the first RUclipsr to whose channel I have subscribed. You are actually the only one. LOL I trust your opinion and have purchased products based on your recommendations and love them! I use Chanel le teint ultra for my dry skin and I love it but I still look forward to your videos and I appreciate all your hard work testing and reviewing products for us, mature girls.
Where I live the humidity is 98% at the moment so I completely understand how that affects makeup. I have normal skin with an oily t-zone, but makeup and humidity don’t mix.
I really enjoy the new UD foundation on my combo oily skin but I do still set it with powder but luckily I don’t have texture or flaky skin just mature skin with fine lines but it doesn’t crease or highlight my lines
I just sampled the new Mac Studio fix after watching this review and I love it. I have dry skin and live in the northern Midwest so not as humid, and it did not get shiny AT ALL on me. After 9 hours of wear the first time, I still had a very soft matte, skin like finish which minimized my pores. It also was not drying. I wouldn’t say it camouflaged my dry areas but it also didn’t cause any new dryness by the end of the day. I will test a few more times to make sure it doesn’t break me out but super impressed so far and hopeful this is my new go to. Thank you for your review!
I agree with your thoughts. I feel like you'd love the new Tom ford architecture foundation because it doesn't move after applying it and it is very blurring and perfecting.
You should do a tutorial on your eye makeup, it's stunning! I'm so done with foundation, I'm going to have to go to Ulta and get a consult. My skin is similar to yours, however I live in Utah, a dry climate!
Happy Sunday! You look even more gorgeous today (your hair is on point!). I have normal to dry skin and the UD foundation did not work out for me either. Patchy, hard to apply even with skin prep and primer.
First, you may be under the weather, but you look really good. And your hair looks amazing in this video! And thank you for testing out some foundations I've been VERY curious about. I absolutely LOVE your foundation reviews. Second, of the three luxury foundations I recall you testing - La Mer, Christian Louboutin and Sisley-Paris, do you have a standout favorite? And third, have you ever tested a cushion foundation?
Hey! La Mer reformulated theirs at some point and I haven't tried the new one. I'm loving the Loub thus far for my skin type in this heat and humidity. All the drugstore cushions I tested years ago have been discontinued. I have a couple of k-beauty cushions here to test now. Thank you!
I didnt think CC cream was a real foundation - its so lightweight. I am 64, medium dry skin. I use ELF satin foundation which is perfect. Also Fenty blur stick mixed with Danessa M yummy skin. All work really well.
I love everything you mentioned but never thought to mix fenty stick with yummy. I also have Lawless conceal the deal foundation. Very fluid and a little goes a long way and wears beautifully
I felt the same about the UD foundation 😢 I live in Az so it’s super hot here, a dry heat. So my skin is always dehydrated and it just looked bad on my skin. However I did give it to my daughter who is 26 years old and it looked flawless on her. So if you’re younger I think it’s a beautiful foundation.
I'm glad to see this video, as my long quest to find a suitable foundation continues. I just purchased the famed Estee Lauder double wear, but cannot get it to look smooth and nice on me. I've followed your tips and those from others. I appreciate your continued work to help out the beauty consumer. ❤
Caliray gets a lot of kudos for mattifying and pore blurring. I tried it myself and personally the effect is amazing but doesn’t last. Stephanie has a playlist devoted to primers only and I’m sure she has some she recommended that are mattifying.
Love this video! I am a higher end consumer so ty! You always provide great reviews! I have the Sisley oil free and it is one of my faves🎉🎉🎉 IT Cosmetics has never worked for me; caused break put and scent/smell was awful! (For me)! I am very intetested in the Louboutin😮 and maybe the MSC? 😅😅😅🎉 I am looking forward to the next video- need to te watch the Conealer review but loving Natasha Denona, Haus Labs and YSL!🎉🎉 Have a great Sunday!!❤❤❤
Stephanie, you give the best, most thorough reviews. I really appreciate that you also let us know if there is a fragrance/scent to a product. Btw, you look beautiful today and your hair looks great! 😊
TY for another great video. You def have to get rematched for the MAC. I find it dried down pretty quick for me so I only do one section of my face at a time. It does shear out nice too. Very versatile
I went to Korea last year and when waiting at the airport I got suckered into shopping and I got the Sisley concealer. When I first tried it, I hated it. I was so disappointed that I emailed them and wanted to return it. However, I don't know what happened in the next few weeks, maybe it just got warmer and less depressing, but I started to really like it. I will probably rebuy it.
Love the Louboutin bottle, especially the inside red detail, and how nice it looks on you. Thank you for the in depth review. I have dry skin so its a pass for me, but it was my favorite you tried.
Thank you so much for all of your reviews. You have saved me a lot of money, and I know that after you road test in New Orleans, it will last in Los Angeles! I know it is super expensive, but I would love if you could review the new reformulated La Mer Foundation. The last one worked really well. Thank you again.
I got matched to NC16 mac too and like you i think its a bit pale. I have neutral to warm undertones so im going to have a look for a different one as its just not quite right.
I bought the IT Matte CC and I have mature dry skin. I found this to be creamy at first then drying. My pores were showing. As the day wore on my face felt kind of greasy and dry. Overall, not a favorite. I still like the IT Nude Glow.
Wow! I think you're almost exactly my skin match. Combo skin with oily t zone, dry under eyes and neutral warm leaning skin. I'm sure im a bit darker than you and tend to have a bit of a golden tone, but everything else. So knowing, I need to know... what are your top five full coverage foundation currently on the market and your top five skin loving tints for light summer ware currently on the market? Without sunscreen. ❤ It's super hard to find good foundation in my shade match.
I'm in the process of putting together my top foundations right now to put those videos out. So stay tuned for those. It's taken me a while because new foundations keep coming out. But I just need to do it and update periodically if needed. That video is coming soon!! :)
What is a "mattifying primer" that makeup works well over? I've ditched primers recently because I was having pilling problems, but I may just be using the wrong products. I have combo skin that gets quite oily in my T-zone so a mattifying primer apparently really can help with the quick shine. THX for any recommendations!
You want to make sure your primer is compatible with your foundation. Silicone based with silicone. Water based with water based, etc. If they're not, then there will be issues. Here are some primers I enjoy of various types: shopmy.us/collections/15129 💖
I'm happy the IT Cosmetics CC doesn't have the fragrant oils in the other IT CCs. Denatured alcohol makes my skin pump out too much oil, so the Urban Decay is a non-starter for me.
All of Sisley's products are amazing. I used to buy Sisley. Over the past few years though their prices have become astronomical and I just can't justify the expense.
I was blown away by the price! I think I paid $110 to test the La Mer Foundation, which I ended up loving. They've had a huge price increase since then too. It's $150 now! Craziness.

Thank you! It's the mini castle. I have it linked with a code in my description box if you're a first time customer or use a different email to purchase ;)
I'm definitely not a first time customer. I have 2 rings and 2 pair of earrings. But I love the way the Castle ring looks on your hand. Thanks for telling me it's the mini.@@StephanieMarie

@@StephanieMarie ok thanks! Going thru perimenopause and rosacea is a thing according to my derm. It has a lot to do with all those awesome hot flashes. Ah yes, the wonders of aging lol.
I thought so as well, but when I added up the price of foundations bought / year that didn't work, I prefer to spend on only one or two but having a perfect result. So in the end, I was just wasting money. I have the Sisley foundation and one from Chanel. With a good foundation that doesn't dries out the skin, I don't need to purchase a hundred skincare either, neither all the additional makeup to make my foundation work ( primer, powder etc that dehydrates as well).
