I think that's a personal choice. I also think that all styles depend on the event or situation. For instance, Dominique is a news anchor and has a very professional wardrobe when she's on the news (I live in Houston and I’ve been watching her since I was like 13 years old) which is very refined and elegant as you say. Judging by her RUclips channel she also has more current and stylish looking clothes that she wears in her leisure. Knowing when and where to wear certain clothes makes all the difference. If, during professional settings, an older more mature woman was wearing skin tight clothes with low necklines and high hemlines, you could kind of assume she was chasing a period of time in her life that has passed but knowing how to take current trends and adjust them to make them age appropriate actually shows off how stylish someone is. When dressing in more trendy clothes, women of all ages have to consider which portions of the trends aren’t for them at whatever age they are. When Dominique was modeling the cropped jeans she reminded her audience not to wear jeans with several rips for obvious reasons. As long as a person stays on trend while also keeping their own age in consideration, they’ll be fine and very stylish. But, we can’t judge those of us who do want to continue to wear all the new trends in their truest forms regardless of their age. Doing so would make us the fashion police and we are not.

The shorter skirts/dresses and heels are just not in the cards for me. Would have loved to see something in more realistic wear for the ordinary woman.
I love these looks but I saw most of the items not in budget - would you be able to do a look book from say TJmax or Target or even Walmart or Amazon I think you showed some Tshirts from Target recently- would love to see you continue with more budget friendly looks as well! I need help finding the affordable but still classy.
It's not about you wearing her clothes, listen to what she's saying about shape, form & colour & learn from that. You can get colours & shapes anywhere, not just her clothing brands. Save money, buy higher quality, well-made 2nd-hand items in natural fibres that last & pay someone local to alter them, you'll look a million bucks! Heaps better than buying polyester 'fast fashion' from those stores. Americans support those wealthy corporations who don't pay a fair living wage to the women (& illegally, children) who make their cheap clothes in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, & China (& all while complaining about US poverty & jobs).
Joanne Carroll Consignment shops and Goodwill or Salvation Army BOUTIQUES have BETTER STUFF than the regular thrift stores but good stuff can still be found-it takes more time.
@@tammyeaton4791 Anywhere that reduces the billions of tonnes of clothing going to landfill each year is great by me & paying a local person to alter them costs comparatively little when you add both costs together (even cheaper if you can learn to do it yourself). Salvos boutiques are some of my favourite haunts, I got my adult son a wool/cashmere blazer & myself a silk knit cardigan there recently - beautiful quality. Like you said, you just have to put in the effort & time.
Hey Stacy L, I like budget clothes too! My daughter has a clothing store so I just go to her for all my clothing needs. 😂 If you're on instagram, check her out at @thriftology She will help you put together outfits, find stuff for your shape. And she's so body positive.
Greetings dear. ..... I do aggree agree with you totally. ... Thanks for sharing. it's very informative. God's continued blessings. I'm almost 76yrs. I love fashion ..... Luv.
I would say that cut is a chin length geometric Bob with golden highlights, it's heavily layered especially on the crown to give it lift.... If you scroll back a while I think she did a video about her visiting the salon
Helpful, thank you. I'm so tired of a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. You made me see where I became a frumpola. I would LOVE help in creating a minimalist closet of clothes I will actually wear all the time. Thank you, xoxo.
I too had a full robe but nothing to wear.... so I halled everything out spent a day on it. Toss out everything that doesn't fit. Ask yourself where will I wear this, if there's nowhere you can say, yes, I'd wear it to this and that..Toss it. Then see what goes with what..if you've got a top or bottoms that go with nothing else, so you end up never wearing it, then either Toss it, or wear it to the shop and make it your challenge to buy something that goes well with it so you can finally use it. If you find nothing..Toss it! I got rid of more than half my clothes and shoes, then could actually buy myself a few new items each season to add to what I wear. I'm nearly at the stage where it's time to have a radical clear out once again, but I can honestly say, I wear most of my clothes now. 👍👍

How about adding some fashion tips for curvy women or fuller figured women . Everything looks beautiful when your slim, it's a lot harder on a larger woman 🤷♀️
Dizzy Caines - I hear ya, but there are a ton of fashion channels specifically for curvy women. Maybe she doesn’t give fashion tips for curves, because she’s not curvy so she’s appealing to thinner women.
I think almost all of the tips can be used for curvy ladies. The tips on color, the neckline shape, eyeglass shape, and shoe choice don't have any bearing on body size to be applicable.
I never could /can understand paying for a pair of ripped and torn jeans! They have always looked frumpy and dumpy..glad to hear you say ...no rips and tears trying to look like your daughter! You look amazing❗️

Hello Dominique, I recently started watching your videos and love them! Could you help us short ladies with wardrobe tips? I feel like we shouldn’t wear certain things. Would love to hear what you think!
@@savitasharmavlog General tips from a random not that short, but shortish person, decide on your own whether you accept and agree with them: go for vertical, not horizontal volume - longer rather than wider. If you like flares on skirts or sleeves, avoid stiff ones and go for soft materials that end up in a few long narrow and flowing pleats. Prefer lengths below the knee. Also, jeans and trousers that are widening down the legs seem to elongate them. For patterns, I'd say to avoid vertical stripes, as they give off the vibe of trying too hard, but also horizontal stripes that are too regular. But most importantly, look at the mirror and if you think the outfit suits you, or you like it and it makes you happy, go ahead and don't care what other people think or say. You influence how people will perceive you by the way you perceive yourself. So be confident, short is pretty.
I’m nearly 75 and I wear what I like ... what makes me feel good. I don’t dress for others. Having said that, I love watching your shows ... you’re the epitome of a true, classy lady.

A dress is easier because it's one piece but I'd love to see some ideas for putting an outfit together with a skirt as the base. Also professional, tailored pants that are not part of a suit would would be great. Thank you!

Could you do a makeup tutorial on how to best make puffy eyes less noticeable? I have found all the other videos you have done so helpful! Especially the one for hooded eyes! Thank you! Keila
Here's the thing with wearing black, as per color season charts we women usually know what color season we are. Colors do make an extreme difference when worn correctly; if you have had your colors done you will know what I'm talking about. So, with all that said, winter season color scheme people are the only women who can wear black successfully. Black is very dynamic looking on a women who can wear that color, several examples are a black evening dress, or a black suit very formal and business-like. The main way that the other three seasons can get away with wearing black is to have it away from your face. Therefore having a great scarf or nice blouse or shirt that is in your color range. Thus creating your super color framing your face and not the black which you'd normally not wear. I hope this has helped.
I need to figure this out, I wear black tops often. I’m brunette with light skin and blue eyes. The majority of my workout tops are black too. I need to binge her videos…I have lots to learn.
Dominique, I love your show! ❤️ I learn so many tips n tricks. Plus, I love that you consistently stay with makeup, clothes & beauty tutorials. A lot of these others are getting into nonsense and drama.
I really appreciate the wisdom you impart to us to us each week ~ at the end of each vlog you tell us to "go-out", "be-bold" and "be-blessed", I hang on to that as if I were a child ... it makes me happy ~ inside! Thank you!

Kathy Hiebert Hiebert I know you directed the question to Dominique BUT I think all the same style tips for you that apply to anyone. Using in a walker doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish or have to dress differently than anyone else your age. As long as the clothes fit properly and are practical for you to wear then wear them. Just my opinion.
I love your hair! And the pattern trick is an eye opener. I have never been able to wear all black. It washed me out. I thought I can't wear big patterns, either, but I see the difference is the type of pattern, and choosing flattering colors.
You are absolutely marvelous! I,m in my late 60’s and can’t wear all the looks you have presented, but I can see where I can edit some of them to suit my size and age. You have also validated my favorite look...jeans, white shirt, black or navy blazer. I usually wear booties with a heel. Thanks for sharing
Thank you Dominique. This was really fun and helpful. I'm sixty, and finally tired of the long white hair look. Always a blond, I opted for brown hair color and a blunt trim. It took a few days to get used to, but yes, with the powder bronzer, that sun kissed look of youthfulness has me all aglow again! I'm glad I came upon your video. This helps me further. Leaving 2021 as a true 60 year old, and entering 2022 as an ageless beauty!
Just to say, please make sure to keep your hair in good condition. It's much harder to do that in our 60s, but dull-looking hair is very aging. My sister-in-law, who was always blonde, started dying her hair brown in the last couple of years, but she doesn't keep up with the conditioning. She looks like she's wearing a helmet of dyed straw. I don't wish that on anybody. My hair hasn't turned gray yet, although it's becoming faded looking, but I find that a rinse of brewed coffee after shampooing adds just the right amount of natural oils for shine, plus it makes my fading brown color look a bit richer.
@E Dennis Wow! Thank you for this terrific tip, which I will try. I do always condition and my hair is silky smooth and down to my lower back. I use the drugstor packet 3minute conditioner called Babe Alert. It's amazing. Also, I recently tried GLAZE in Espresso, and it is well worth the money. A little bit goes a long way and truly makes the hair shine! I will say that it doesn't lady ten washings, but rather only a few. But again, with marvelous shine and root cover. Thank you for your thoughtful notes here. I appreciate your time and sharing. Very generous. ❤️ Stay safe and beautiful!
This is the best tutorial on dressing thinner that I've seen yet. It's amazing how much better you looked in the v-neck but most of the current tops for women have round necklines. Wish they'd listen to you!
As an optician, your first pair actually made you look "younger" but, the second pair was far more flattering. The bottoms enhanced your eye color, which is incredibly very difficult to do (nearly impossible). The black frame blond hair thing is absolutely not true (sorry) blondes typically get lost behind black frames, they do look nice in "Havannas" "horn" or less red "tortoises". I would also recommend avoiding clear frames unless it's a personal signature look, oddly they tend to be bolder than black. Also when some people have large puffy under-eye bags some glasses can be used to intersect (cover) the bags, as long as there is still space for their lense to fit. I hope this helped and wasn't offensive.
Wonderful, you’re absolutely spot on with clothes. I discovered suddenly as I got older, Black near the face is a dreary look. My little black dress now needs masses of pearls. Now I’ve found you, and enjoyed every moment, I’ll be looking forward to your next video. Thank you 😘
As a Full-Figured Woman of Color, the majority of these tips DON'T work for me, but I appreciate the "fashion" tips. Yes, I want to look 10 years younger, but not at the expense of exposing too much skin.
@Pechez Bikes I agree. I, personally, don't think that females showing thighs and half-bared breasts is flattering no matter what age. I can only think of one reason to do it. Why are women so afraid of looking like lovely, classy women instead of silly girls and hookers?
Good points. I never wear black against my face, I always have a color, usually white, between my face and black for a much better look, as you show here.
I like the first outfit you go with the black skirt and blazer. I like the outfit does makes you look younger and still suit you, sometimes you just want to look younger but not too much. Also the lighter color wrap dress does the trick too. Love this video.
Thank you so much for mentioning that not everyone looks good in black! It's never suited me (I have a particularly 'ashy' skin tone and did even when I was in my teens and younger) and actually makes me look ill and washed out. Strangely so does white.

Amen sister. Now that I am in my 60's I really pay attention to details. Why not look better, healthier and younger!
The shorter skirts/dresses and heels are just not in the cards for me. Would have loved to see something in more realistic wear for the ordinary woman.
Those shoes are just not safe for me, but my dsughter looks wonderful in them ☺
Susan Wright Exactly.
Flats and mules' are attractive.

I agree! I thought the dress was wayy to short for an older woman.
I love these looks but I saw most of the items not in budget - would you be able to do a look book from say TJmax or Target or even Walmart or Amazon I think you showed some Tshirts from Target recently- would love to see you continue with more budget friendly looks as well! I need help finding the affordable but still classy.
She did that and people really criticized that video!

Years ago I learned that the one, easiest, and most inexpensive way to look younger is to SMILE. BTY, yours is gorgeous.
Greetings dear. ..... I do aggree agree with you totally. ... Thanks for sharing. it's very informative. God's continued blessings. I'm almost 76yrs. I love fashion ..... I used to sew a lot in my earlier years. I had two major surgeries two years ago. God brought me through it safely. Thank God for life. I'm still looking forward to doing some. whenever I can though! Luv.
Dominique can you please make a video about what you wish you knew when you were younger in regards to everything from skincare, beauty, life etc
Sounds good!
I absolutely love this but your hair OMG is gorgeous just like you! Can you please tell me what the cut is and your highlights I just love it!!!
Thank you, xoxo.
,l
Gorgeous!!! Love your tips! Can you please make a video on how to exude confidence & joy? What keeps your spark alive? What is your favorite stress relief and how do you maintain your strength, yet poise at all times? You have such a bright energy about you & thank you for the inspiration xoxo

Eleftheria Tagouli How can we look good wearing masks? I love smiling and lipstick so difficult to breathe with mask... Love you Dominic’s, many thanks
@@dianechrisman6764 I do perfectly agree, Diane. Those masks are a nightmare and they make absolutely NO sense!! I see people (in some parts if Italy) wearing them OUTSIDE...putting them on children's faces...also very little, 3-4-5 years old children. It's a crime. Totally foolish. Big hug to you, Diane, and to our Dominique! L.

I thought you were going to say a smile will make you look 10 years younger. I know when I smile I look 43 and not 53. Thanks for the tips as always!😊
Dominique, one thing I thought you’d say was to smile! But I guess we should take that for granted.
Thanks for a fun video, as usual, your a joy! God bless!
I JUST LOVE YOU!! Thank you for doing these. I hardly comment on style things I follow, but you are so consistent and so positively transparent about how we all feel. Just - thank you 🙏🏼
Tell me about his with the 2 pockets up front. It seems like when I shop for a blouse buttoned or not always come with 2 front pockets that no one would ever utilize. What is that about?
How about adding some fashion tips for curvy women or fuller figured women . Everything looks beautiful when your slim, it's a lot harder on a larger woman 🤷♀️
Dizzy Caines - I hear ya, but there are a ton of fashion channels specifically for curvy women. Maybe she doesn’t give fashion tips for curves, because she’s not curvy so she’s appealing to thinner women.
I think almost all of the tips can be used for curvy ladies. The tips on color, the neckline shape, eyeglass shape, and shoe choice don't have any bearing on body size to be applicable.
I think all these tips work no matter what your size
She can't do everything. She's not curvy. There's curvy people doing that.
Dizzy Caines, I would LOVE that!! Great suggestion!!
Oh, I'm so glad to hear you say, "no rips or tears". 👍
I never could /can understand paying for a pair of ripped and torn jeans! They have always looked frumpy and dumpy..glad to hear you say ...no rips and tears trying to look like your daughter! You look amazing❗️
You're amazing...the way you talk, the way you dress, the way you make up... It shows how good you are in many ways!..

However, many “mature” ladies, such as myself, have “turkey” necks, large knees and thighs , arms with wings and fallen breasts . Our daily struggle to conceal these less attractive areas , while attempting to look presentable as well as shaving years off, is a challenge!

Hello Dominique, I recently started watching your videos and love them! Could you help us short ladies with wardrobe tips? I feel like we shouldn’t wear certain things. Would love to hear what you think!
Yes pls .. 👍

Ive been a fan since the first time I watched you. Thank you so much for the weekly ray of sunshine you give us just by being you. I love your style and class. Thank you for being a light during this time when things are so chaotic in our world.
I love your tips on hair and clothes. I always struggle with skirts. What length to choose, what to wear on top - tuck in or not; jacket, blouse, sweater... A dress is easier because it's one piece but I'd love to see some ideas for putting an outfit together with a skirt as the base. Also professional, tailored pants that are not part of a suit would would be great. Thank you!
Amazing tips Dominique!!! But your hair stole the show for me!!! I absolutely love it & you have me thinking I need a nice change in my life, well, as far as hair goes!!! Beautiful video ❤️

Need ideas to help with thinning lips and aging. I appreciate the tip on the alternatives to wearing black.

Kathy Hiebert Hiebert I know you directed the question to Dominique BUT I think all the same style tips for you that apply to anyone. I love the glasses. Shape & color are perfect for me. Info, please!! 🙂😏
Very very helpful, I love your tips they really simply work , thankyou 👍👍👌🙏
This is the best tutorial on dressing thinner that I've seen yet. It's amazing how much better you looked in the v-neck but most of the current tops for women have round necklines. Wish they'd listen to you!
Thank you Dominique. You've helped me learn so much to help improve my appearance. God bless you!
I love her advice, she's elegant and beautiful. I'm 78
Thank you so much Dominique for the beautiful ideas 💡😘💝👍🏽
Thank you 😘
Is the second jacket pinned in the back. If so, good idea!
You look good in everything!! You’re so pretty.
As a Full-Figured Woman of Color, the majority of these tips DON'T work for me, but I appreciate the "fashion" tips. Yes, I want to look 10 years younger, but not at the expense of exposing too much skin.
I totally agree with you!
@Pechez Bikes. Agree 100%. Plus, the wardrove (where to find those colors/style???) looks expensive.
Full figures showing some skin is fine these days. Keep the black on top and brighten the bottom.
@@debbiemanning5983
Why is full figures showing some skin fine these days?
@Pechez Bikes
I agree. I, personally, don't think that females showing thighs and half-bared breasts is flattering no matter what age. I can only think of one reason to do it. Why are women so afraid of looking like lovely, classy women instead of silly girls and hookers?
These are some AMAZING tips! I absolutely LOVE high necklines like crop turtlenecks and curved necklines.

Good points. I never wear black against my face, I always have a color, usually white, between my face and black for a much better look, as you show here.
Love the mules and jeans! I need to copy that look.😁
Try cream.
