I dislike it because the camera isn’t set and you have to wait for the camera to center when hitting the button, so you can lose because of the camera in this mission.
24:19 That's what I assumed too, when I first played this star a few days ago, and when I saw the comet was a rehash of the Lava Spire, I thought "This'll be EASY!". I was wrong, but at least I got a bunch of star bits out of it.
Ok, Thank you SO MUCH for finally giving Grand Finale Galaxy the respect it deserves. For being at the end, I’m ok that they didn’t make it hard. But the music and the atmosphere really make it one of my favorite stars.
I mean, I don't think I've came across someone that actually likes this star. That said, god does this star drag. It's definitely one of the worst stars in the entire game, it is a slog. Though I think Snow Cap Galaxy's star is the worst star in the game for sure, GOD I HATE BUNNIES, I HATE THAT SONG, AND I HAVE TO CATCH ALL THREE OF THESE LITTLE S##TS WITH A 30 SECOND TIMER AND SNOW TO SLOW ME DOWN, SCREW THAT STAR!
I LIKE THAT STAR! It’s got a really chill vibe to it! I also like how all the npcs help you out with collecting the coins! The slow pace feels kinda relaxing.
Drip drop galaxy was more about atmosphere than actual gameplay for me; while I agree that the level’s mechanics are pretty bad, I just really love the quiet melancholy of that little planet. I think that that fly-over at the start really adds to the sense of loneliness and almost despair - here is a planet infested with predators, whose only inhabitants shiver in fear on their tiny spots of safety above the sea. I never once enjoyed the gameplay on that level, but I always played through it at least once just to save those penguins, and to hear that one penguin quietly say, “Grandpa’s getting old.”
Don’t know how many others feel this way, but Super Mario Galaxy is my most nostalgic game, played it when I was 5-6 years old...kinda crazy looking back on that now that I’m 18, this game is 14 years old! What an amazing game that has given me so many memories to hang onto as I go into adult life
This morning I got in the backseat and prepared for an 8-hour drive to another state. I’m halfway through and I’m at my wit’s end when I see THIS IN MY RECOMMENDED THANK YOU SCHAFRILLAS VERY COOL
As someone who actually loves the spring mushroom, toy time galaxy easily slides into first place for my favorite galaxy, because the spring mushroom just doesn't hold it back for me
24:18 SAME OMG I have tried so hard to explain to people how much my jaw hit the floor when I saw it was the lava spire instead of the fire dino piranha, but no one gets it. This stage, the Dreadnought purple coins, and the electric maze are my 3 hardest stages.
Dear Schaff, after watching this video, you’ve reignited my passion for this game that laid dormant for almost a decade, and made me turn on my wii and boot up a new save file of the game. My goal was to get all the glorious 121 stars that you spoke of. I played all the basic levels before, beat the game and all, when I was like 7. I never took the time to fully complete the game, however. So I decided, because done with my first semester of college, to try out completing the game, and making it to the final level, the star festival. I brute forced my way through each location (or whatever the galaxy hubs are called), got all 104 stars before The Fate of the Universe, beat that, and then roughed through the 15 purple coin levels. I beat the last prankster comet in Dreadnought galaxy and was ready to head to the mushroom kingdom to party. I approach Rosalina and she makes me do the last bowser level again; which was weird but I didn’t mind. I finish it with ease, sit through the cutscenes and credits, get the “Luigi is playable now” dialogue and move on with my life. Now I’m confused why I haven’t gone to the star festival yet. I go on IGN and look up how to get this star. They tell me that first I need to complete the 120 stars with Mario, beat The Fate of the Universe for a second time, and then do it ALL over again with Luigi. Schaff, I sat on my bed for an entire fucking week to go to the star festival that you talked of, only to have the Mario Wiki tell me that I have to complete every goddamn level again. Even the agonizing ones that, once competed, I swore to myself I would never play. EVEN THE TOY TIME LUIGI PURPLE COIN RUN, which in my opinion is a very annoying level consider the camera is not your friend when jumping from one platform to the next. I thought I was crazy so I went back to this video, and check your description for the star festival. And you didn’t say a fucking word about having to LITERALLY PLAY THE ENTIRE GAME AGAIN, just for an measly purple coin run. I’d be mad at the game, but you were my inspiration to play this. You lied to me Schaff, and this disheartens me. Shigeru Miyamoto may have decided to seduce his loyal subject to playing this torture chamber of bad camera angles, but that was his mistake! You, however, have crossed a line. I don’t think I can ever treat my viewing experiences of you the same ever again. Great video btw, liked and subscribed.
Bro really wrote an entire story about Schaff not mentioning that you have to play the whole game twice to get the 121st star Jokes aside, underrated comment
As a kid, Mario Galaxy was actually my least favorite 3D Mario, having grown up with 64 and Sunshine. It wasn't until I revisited it as an adult that I really appreciated it.
Super Mario Galaxy is the best Mario game in my opinion because it just provides an epic and somewhat melancholy feeling that none of the other games bring to the table. It really feels like you're just playing a single part in a much larger story. Rosalina's backstory is a big reason why I feel this way.
@@philly_sports1558 For me its Mario Odyssey. It pushes Mario in a new direction that can compete with modern gaming while still paying tribute the 2D and 3D legacy of the series.
@@philly_sports1558 i don’t see how it makes you feel like you’re part of a larger story, since the story book feels very isolated from the rest of the game. It would’ve been cooler if the main plot kinda tied in to the storybook in some way, but it doesn’t unfortunately.
@Mario With a Gun no you’re not the snowflake, in that situation I could be a snowflake, but I’m not. All I’m saying is when you’re saying something you like/don’t like, don’t say it’s just my opinion. Just say what you’re gonna say and that’s that
Wait, there are 150 purple coins in that level?! I would always kill myself if I ever missed a single coin, until I'd run out of lives and just give up.
@@traviscunningham7062 eggs, battle stations, floating and sinking tower, gardens, racing beach, food fantasies, giant fish, moving matter, toys and that's not even including the bowser missions if you don't think that's variety and being unique, you need to check the dictionary
They were. Enough stuff is in the files to suggest this, and the Buoy Base was part of it, too. It also seems like the Ghostly Galaxy and Deep Dark Galaxy were the same place at one point.
Whenever he talked about the galaxies, the music of each one came back to me. I've played this game so much the soundtrack is engrained in my head. I still listen to space junk galaxy whenever I have bad day, its amazing. So thanks for the nostalgia trip, now I want to play the game again.
Totally wasnt expecting this type of video from this channel. But I'm so happy that schaffrillas, scott the woz, and I have a sharing passion for super mario galaxy. Makes me happy on the inside 😊
I'd love to see one of these for Galaxy 2, I was very partial to the first one as a kid, but over time I've actually come to prefer the second game just because I feel like there's more to do with the green stars (although I know some people despise the green stars) EDIT: Rip WiiU
What if a Minecraft movie ever comes to fruition and Schaffrillas ends up reviewing it, but instead of Square Space, the video is sponsored by Surfshark.
As a guy who played Galaxy 2 first, but never the first until that 3D compilation, I get it. The Galaxy series is based. How do y’all complete it? Complete every Galaxy that you see, or do you collect the extra stars after going straight for Bowser? I find myself trying to complete the whole game as I go, so this reminds me to go back & play more.
Watching Schafrillas again after beating Persona 5 is a whole 'nother experience Example: NOT TERRIBLE, BUT NOT IMPRESSIVE stfu justine I need this one for a group fusion

But dude, triple jumping onto the house is more stylish.

That's what I assumed too, when I first played this star a few days ago, and when I saw the comet was a rehash of the Lava Spire, I thought "This'll be EASY!".
I was wrong, but at least I got a bunch of star bits out of it.
This game was great, glad that schaffrillas decided to make some content with it.
Guess that means that ranking every super Mario world dragon coin is still on the table then 🤔
You should do that for your 250k Subscriber Special
Ok, Thank you SO MUCH for finally giving Grand Finale Galaxy the respect it deserves. For being at the end, I’m ok that they didn’t make it hard. But the music and the atmosphere really make it one of my favorite stars.
Finally someone called out how awful seaslide’s purple coins are!
I mean, I don't think I've came across someone that actually likes this star. That said, god does this star drag. It's definitely one of the worst stars in the entire game, it is a slog. Though I think Snow Cap Galaxy's star is the worst star in the game for sure, GOD I HATE BUNNIES, I HATE THAT SONG, AND I HAVE TO CATCH ALL THREE OF THESE LITTLE S##TS WITH A 30 SECOND TIMER AND SNOW TO SLOW ME DOWN, SCREW THAT STAR!
oh yeah it really is garbage. sea slide's design set the purple coins to be a disaster. It wasn't even fun, just really annoying
Dusty Dune is more frustrating. The amount of times I sunk in the quicksand was infuriating. Least it’s really hard to die in Seaslide
The fact he called those awful yet had LUIGI PURPLE COINS AS NUMBER ONE
I LIKE THAT STAR! It’s got a really chill vibe to it! I also like how all the npcs help you out with collecting the coins! The slow pace feels kinda relaxing.
Kingfin is underrated af, I actually just forgot he was in it now I remember literally replaying that stage over and over
Drip drop galaxy was more about atmosphere than actual gameplay for me; while I agree that the level’s mechanics are pretty bad, I just really love the quiet melancholy of that little planet.
What an amazing game that has given me so many memories to hang onto as I go into adult life
Same. This game is a huge part of my childhood.
Dreadnought's garbage dump was always so hard as a kid, me and my friend spent hours trying to beat it
Now do why Garfield and friends is a cinematic masterpiece
I can't believe you put the worst mission in the game at number one out of sheer nepotism.
Mans a menace
This morning I got in the backseat and prepared for an 8-hour drive to another state. I’m halfway through and I’m at my wit’s end when I see THIS IN MY RECOMMENDED THANK YOU SCHAFRILLAS VERY COOL
Considering I just replayed it 100% for the 3rd time recently I'm happy to see this is a priority.
As someone who actually loves the spring mushroom, toy time galaxy easily slides into first place for my favorite galaxy, because the spring mushroom just doesn't hold it back for me
24:18
SAME OMG
I have tried so hard to explain to people how much my jaw hit the floor when I saw it was the lava spire instead of the fire dino piranha, but no one gets it.
Bro really wrote an entire story about Schaff not mentioning that you have to play the whole game twice to get the 121st star
Jokes aside, underrated comment
It was one of the most innovative games of the time
@@philly_sports1558 i don’t see how it makes you feel like you’re part of a larger story, since the story book feels very isolated from the rest of the game. It would’ve been cooler if the main plot kinda tied in to the storybook in some way, but it doesn’t unfortunately.
@@mitwhitgaming7722 agreed.
I’m glad we’re on the same page with Sea Slide Galaxy. The purple coins, no, THE ENTIRE GALAXY, is tedious.
FINALLY. I am so relieved to find someone else who absolutely LOATHES Dusty Dune Galaxy as much as I do.
Battlestation purple coins being so high is an actual war crime
So is Luigi Purple coins being NUMBER 1 💀
The reason luigis purple coins is at the top is because this list must’ve been made in Australia, therefore everything’s upside down
The only correct explanation
@Mario With a Gun don’t say you respect my opinion. Just say “i thought it was fun” our society needs to stop being snowflakes
@Mario With a Gun no you’re not the snowflake, in that situation I could be a snowflake, but I’m not. All I’m saying is when you’re saying something you like/don’t like, don’t say it’s just my opinion. Just say what you’re gonna say and that’s that
@@joffles6516 your acting so offended by the idea that someone could think you are a snowflake that you’ve become a snowflake.
I KNEW LUIGI'S PURPLE COINS WOULD BE AT THE TOP
Loving these gaming vids you've been doing lately , hope to see more in the future. 😁👌
I was going to say you didn't watch the video because it just came out, but then I realised your comment was a day ago.
time to have to individually remember all of these and love it
Wait, there are 150 purple coins in that level?! I would always kill myself if I ever missed a single coin, until I'd run out of lives and just give up.
Some of those "linear" levels were bigger than Mario Odysey levels.
And somehow I still had more fun with Odyssey. Not to discredit Galaxy tho, I still love it.
Not really odyssey levels are bigger but galaxy have more variety in terms of levels types.
@@arturocastroverde3349 not really. Most of the levels are just space, beehive, beach, lava ice etc.
@@traviscunningham7062 eggs, battle stations, floating and sinking tower, gardens, racing beach, food fantasies, giant fish, moving matter, toys
and that's not even including the bowser missions
if you don't think that's variety and being unique, you need to check the dictionary

I always noticed how a lot of missions in both Sea Slide and Beach Bowl seem to repeat, maybe they were meant to be the same galaxy originally?
They were. Enough stuff is in the files to suggest this, and the Buoy Base was part of it, too. It also seems like the Ghostly Galaxy and Deep Dark Galaxy were the same place at one point.
@@anueutsuho7425 and Good Egg and Gusty Garden.
I was stressing, the more and more stars you did before the bomb throwing one was insane. Definitely both at the very bottom of my list.
Whenever he talked about the galaxies, the music of each one came back to me. I've played this game so much the soundtrack is engrained in my head. I still listen to space junk galaxy whenever I have bad day, its amazing. So thanks for the nostalgia trip, now I want to play the game again.

Ah, a man of culture I see!
Ahh this brings me back to the days of playing Super Mario Bros, Mario Galaxy, Mario Sluggers, Sega Tennis and Smash Bros Brawl on the Wii
Finally found the only person on this planet who likes Galaxy’s bubble missions
Hey, I like them too
I thought they were alright, I definitely would’ve rather have them brought back for Galaxy 2 than the fucking ball
Totally wasnt expecting this type of video from this channel. But I'm so happy that schaffrillas, scott the woz, and I have a sharing passion for super mario galaxy. Makes me happy on the inside 😊
You have great taste, and this was a really fun trip down the memory lane for me!
Kamella has the best boss theme. You cannot convince me otherwise.
Kingfin is unironically one of my favorite bosses in any video game ever. Right up there with Dimitri from Sly 2.
I agree, he’s just so intimidating and fun, and his boss fight uses Bouldergeist’s theme way better than Bouldergeist’s fight does
When is ranking every fire emblem three houses characters coming out
Please
I was literally hoping that seaslide purple coins would be near or at the bottom. Glad someone agrees with me.
28:10 it gave me a mini heart attack when I finally made it and saw *99*
Wait you can bounce on the goomba to reach Luigi on the roof!??? 7-yr old me is blown away
u put luigis purple coins as #1

a legit masochist
I'd love to see one of these for Galaxy 2, I was very partial to the first one as a kid, but over time I've actually come to prefer the second game just because I feel like there's more to do with the green stars (although I know some people despise the green stars)
EDIT: Rip WiiU

ah yes.
plumber man who can't keep his princess safe for 2 seconds.
You gotta fix that. Nintendo decided that Mario is no longer plumber man for some reason 🤷♂️
I literally thought to myself “ where the hell did he put luigi on the roof did I miss that? “
I genuinely thought your number 1 was a troll and you was gonna announce the real number one after pulling our legs.

The water level is legit some of the best I’ve ever experience

There really needs to be more platformers with this type of gravity mechanic
