It’s hard to even call it a bad ending when there isn’t an actual ending season finale. I kid you not it felt like an ending to a regular episode and Netflix forgot to upload the rest of the season
That last episode feels like you're missing a whole 'nother episode. Like somehow episode eight is not loading and you keep waiting for it to show up because the story hasn't arrive to a logical break for a continuation. This isn't a cliffhanger but a missing episode.
It blows my mind that gi-hun didn’t think number one was suspicious considering the last time he befriended number one in the last season it was frustrating
Also 001 acts super shady and his friend explicitly stated that he was scared of him. I choose to believe that Gi-Hun IS suspicious and knows he's a mole but was hiding his suspicions
@@Atomicevox everyone? Who? Non of the players even knew about the front man lol. Or do you mean the audience? Well duh? That was sort of intentional. Are you actually dumb?
@@Derivitave brother after getting betrayed by 001 in first season who tf trusts 001 again in their life. That too 001 AGAIN trying to be close to gihun and be friends with him. It's so obvious
Honestly, I was quite suspicious. I can't recall which episode it was, but the Front Man used the main character's name, which only the main character's friend knew. On top of that, Number 1 beats up Thanos. It appears he has some martial arts skills, as his attacks seemed extremely lethal, leading me to assume he has some sort of training or military experience.
I don’t know, the Frontman’s assumed name should be a give away, but does Gi-Hun really have any other reason to believe that the person with 001 is always a plant? Yeh it was last time, but he knows why the old man played and that he died, so I don’t think there’s much reason to assume it’d happen again.
@@pyramidion5911how? 001 in season 2 saved his life a couple times and even shot pink guards down. I would trust him too lmao. It’s the fact that we know he’s the frontman that makes it frustrating but it makes sense for the people in the game to trust him.
i feel like the front man was only put as player 001 after gihun joined as the last contestant again, so what happened to the 001 that was meant to be before gihun joined?
Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me. Maybe season 3 will bring his character around and close out because he is done. He will come in full force!
Spoiler** Season 2 wasn't bad, but it seems almost contradicting that Gi-hun purposely let a large majority of the X's die when the O's attacked them after trying the entire season to keep everyone alive. Letting a large majority of the people who wanted out of the game die in order to risk a plan that MIGHT work although it had a high risk of many more players dying, didn't fit with what Gi-hun was fighting for the entire time.
I think the point of the ending is to show that even Gi-hun can lose his way. Sometimes, we try so hard to prevent something from happening that our very efforts end up causing it. He wanted to save everyone, but in the end, he couldn’t see that it was his actions that were getting everyone killed. He sacrificed all of his peers “for the greater good,” and as a result, he got his best friend killed. He is becoming “trash,” and I think this is exactly why his character feels out of place. His ambition to stop the games is changing him, and that’s something that can happen to any idealist who begins taking action with good intentions. Once goals turn into ambitions, it’s all downhill from there.
@@legohunter77 yep, they're prepping him to be the new frontman. When I say they, I dont mean the writers, I mean the current frontman. He wants Gi-hun to accept fate
I think that is not Gi-hun's intention at all. Gi-hun literally witnessed all of his friends dying which could explain for his lack of remorse but the point was to stop the games from ever happening even through morally wrong things.
The way I described this season to my friend: They'll lead you on like something really good is gonna happen, and then they'll tear up all your hopes and dreams and make you question what you've been doing for the past 7 hours
I disagree. Fresh and new interesting characters would always keep a show like this not seeming stale and boring no matter how many seasons. Problem is i think season 2 did a bad job of bringing in new characters viewers could care about. The focus was 100% on Gi-Hun and what he was going to do stop the games. The writers didn't care about anything else. That was the problem with the first season too even though it was great. Knowing he was going to win the games all all along makes it anticlimactic, at least it did for me
@GregObpar you are allowed to disagree but you know how these things work. The childhood games of season 1 won't enough for fan bases the further you go. As you add more and more the games will get crazier and crazier to try and give a wow factor that we have not seen before which will take away from the essence of what made season 1 great. Also, what makes this show great isn't the games and death. It's the human condition and the choices people will make when faced with literal life and death. How those characters change and what they will do to survive. You can only tell those same types of stories so long before the audience says it is the same story just different characters. Viewership will drop and then they will try to add that shock factor I mentioned above. Its inevitable if they go too long just as we have seen with other franchises like Star Wars, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter and so on.
I feel like he will be, but it seems ridiculous that he could do this without Jun-ho knowing something is up if he they apparently were searching for the island all the time in the past 2 years. I understand you have to shut off your brain when it comes to things being realistic to fully enjoy a show
@@GregObpar The problem is Jun-ho was the one who was always coming to this captain for help. If it was this captain who would offer his help all the time and then lead him to nowhere, Jun-ho would probably be suspicious. But since the captain always acted like he was annoyed by constant Jun-ho's requests, it didn't really look suspicious.
@@GregObpar, but only on his days off, leaving plenty of recurring and predictable time for old Cap to go make his organ runs. Remember Jun-Ho worked a regular traffic cop day job too.
The Front Man is never at risk: Game 1: the guards know to avoid him (*if he played it) Game 2: his team goes last, no audience if they lost it. Game 3: he hides if he doesn’t find a room (or they take out others if too many in his room)
The subtitle was the dead giveaway for me. It displayed his name "In-ho" (The deuteragonist's brother and the front man from last season(the same guy who shot him I yhink)), as he engaged in dialogue with other characters. I didn't watch the prequel though
@ChezzLeePezzMaybe he was paid by game leader since the begining. Firstly to save his brother, secondly to stop him if not money always can change people.😅
3 different plots was kind of a mistake imo The character development suffered, I barely cared for any of the characters, we didn’t see them struggle like we did the S1 cast, we didn’t have the opportunities to pray and hope for them in the unknown and intense games. None of the few deaths even holds a candle to Sae-Byeok’s or Ali’s deaths
Tbh the focus of this season is the mission. We mainly root for the players survival so they can leave at the end of each round, rather than for their own personal story lines.
This season has a different focus. The first one was despair and this one is the struggle towards hope. But I also feel like they cut some character background scenes. Like the show did try to make a big deal of the nighttime death of that woman but in the end we didn't know much about her other than she took care of the coward character.
loved the new angles and dynamics. I didn’t expect it to be this good tbh. And I had no idea what the frontman was doing. Every look he gave, everything he fckn did, I sat there like „bro what are you doing, what’s your plan here?“ genious
I feel like the quick jump to the games in season 1 helped with engagement and also allowed viewers to see what the games were about, I believe it was vital for this as it allowed for more ambiguity leading into season 2.
Get used of it and be glad that season 3 will come out instead waiting for another 3 years or even better, watch some lesser known shows that didn't become a smash hit popularity.
@@Madman01-012Not a sad ending if it wasn’t even an ending and it’s still continuing. 1. They still have hidden magazines and a gun in the bedroom. 2. 011 got sent to fight but wasn’t shown. @Taschip, stop putting just the @ bc we dint know who ur directing it to. Don't say it's in a comment section where there's multiple ppl talking, and u put ur @ to add on. Bc that just goes back to what I'm saying. Prick.
That's why the Front Man's team went last in Six Legs (game 2). Because if his team were to lose then they would be able to avoid killing him and arouse suspicion because every other player has either passed or been eliminated beforehand
Math problem. For some reason they had 2 teams in the last round despite the fact that there were 365÷5=73 teams in total. They should have been the only team on the field
The number of players surviving would have to end in either 5 or 0. If they didn’t kill The Frontman, people would notice the number of players not ending in either number and would question it. Even if they just lied about the number of people left, people would quickly catch on to the fact that player 001 was still alive and 456 and the rest of his crew were nowhere to be found.
It's an obvious ploy to keep more subscribers, they know Squid games is one of their rare shows that is popular so they spilt a full season in half because a lot of people will sub to watch and forget for a month or two then they'll be promoting the final season and people will think I may as well wait on cancelling because it's coming soon then they forget after that for a few months, Netflix know this.
I think we will get another plot twist where the frontman actually joins Gi hun. He still cares deeply about his brother, he paid the captain to save him while pretending to kill him.
Then why would he have turned on Gi-Hun in the first place? And even if he joined him, with what army would they be able to take down 50+ armed soldiers?
Wdym?! You think he’ll have a change of heart after he killed Gi Hun’s friend right next to him?! How would that even play out? “Hey Gi Hun, I know what you might think but hear me out! After killing your friend to demoralize you, I was hanging out in my office and watched this anime ‘Kaiji’ and I had this epiphany! You are kinda like the Kaiji, here. But that means, I’m that old Yakuza guy with ugly nose, and I don’t like him! So I changed my mind, I am joining you. And again sorry for your Friend. Wasn’t my best moment :/“
@@communistcomputergod6449 lol then Gi hun responds with "hmm...he was my closest friend here but...Okay! (≧◡≦) You are now a member of my team •ᴗ• just make sure to NEVER EVER do that again. Oh, and you have to pay for our drinks when we get out! Teehee >:3
Actually I am curious for another countries version as you can not always take the same story. E.g. the North korwan character would not work the same in an american version. Also you would need other games.
The guard that was captured by Gihun in the last episode probably recognized the front man. When he looked at him his facial expressions changed and then he was shot in his head right when he was about to say something..
I agree, which is kind if inconsistent writing OR there’s more to his relationship with the front man. Because last i checked, their identities were supposed to remain a secret under penalty of death? So how would he know the front mans identity?
@LiveFreeOrDie2A as per my understanding the identities of guards/frontman/VIPs are supposed to remain hidden from the players but probably not among themselves. If the guards don't know about the front man then there's a chance they could've shot him if he had lost a game or during the rebellion. The same goes for Il-nam in the first season. If the guards hadn't known his identity they'd have shot him when he lost the marbles game but they didn't so they obviously knew he was the creator of the games. There was a scene in season 2 when the stand-in front man/officer called No-eul to his room and they both were not wearing masks while having a conversation. So that makes it clear that they weren't supposed to hide their identities from each other. They just had to hide it from the players.
I knew the captain was a bad apple from the start when the officer offered to pay him and he said he didn't need anymore money. He got paid big time. Probably set up the explosive trap himself too.
While I really liked season 2, it IS frustrating that it's 1 part of an incomplete story. Season 3 isn't really going to be a season 3 but rather season 2 part 2. So it all hangs on season 3. If it sucks, then season 2 also sucks. If it's good, then season 2 is good.
I agree. People say it's a good thing that only 3 seasons will be released to not stretch the story when they stretch season 2 into 2 seasons. In the end it's gonna be 2 seasons and that's it, not "3 seasons"
@eleos7806 exactly. I"ve also heard so many defend it by calling me "inpatient" and "tik tok brained" Oh sorry for being against bad business practices and corporate greed lol. It's like when game Devs release a game without certain features (that should be in the game) , only to include said features in an update, just to meet a deadline.
I was so invested in the side characters storylines, and so incredibly disappointed at how they weren’t the least bit acknowledged at the end. I get it, there’s gonna be a third season, but I feel bamboozled by how much time and energy they spent cooking up all these characters, just to ignore them.
2:57 What's really insane is how little Gi-Hun has spent of his winnings so far or rather how little all the stuff he's paid for has cost. Guy bought a fairly expensive security camera system, rented out an entire motel, bought a literal arsenal of weapons, paid off his entire debt and has been paying his Loan Shark, Mr. Kim and his workers an insane amount of money for over 3 years and yet, as you can see from those stacks of cash, he's barely put a DENT into his winnings. That really is a life changing amount of money.
It's because he feels guilty about the fact that all that money cost the lives of hundreds of people. He even got an offer to invest all his money in interest but he declined the offer knowing where the money came from
@@YazanA200 I was more referring to how despite all the stuff he's done up to this point, you'd figure that would put a bigger dent in his winnings. I get why he hasn't spent a ton of money but still I'm shocked even with all the stuff he has bought, it didn't cost as much.
@Headie0ne bruh his entire comment section is filled with actually retar... Mentally challenged people. Some people didn't know that player 001 was the front man. Despite him being shown MULTIPLE TIMES in this season and the last. How that is possible is beyond me
Personally I think that two seasons would be enough for Squid Game, I wouldn't want this great show to become a sitcom that keeps on rolling for 7-10 years or more.
As with anything it depends on the quality of what is being produced no matter how long it will or could go on for.. I personally thought the first 2 episodes of season 2 were fantastic, but the writers did a bad job of creating new stand out characters in the games that viewers could get invested in once Gi-hun was back on the island
‘Squid Games’ is soon to be a creatively dead IP whose corpse will be continually re-animated as a Netflix desperate cash grab as they shamelessly milk dust from the shriveled teats of a long withered husk of a once great franchise
@@artvandellay He personally talked with Il-nam, the game designer from his last Squid Game. The player no. 1 has an extra advantage OR designed the game themselves. Gi Hun was so traumatized about Squid Game that he should have not forgotten about it or add it into consideration.
My biggest issues with season two is the way he let al the x's die in the last episode only for his plan. This was so not his character since he was trying to save everyone this season. He is kind of an a**hole for not even telling the other x people to defend them self. Now tbh i could care less if he dies i only care for the old grandmother. And the transgender is pretty cool too
I feel like the way Season 2 ended was the only way it could happen while still leaving the Squid Game aspects in the series for Season 3. Because now, we will get to see the final 3 games from that Squid Game with mostly the same cast. If they wanted the Season to end on better terms they would have had to end Squid Game, leaving Season 3 without any of that. It would just be fully gun wars between Gi-hun, the rest of the players and his team versus the frontman and his guards. That would have made it less interesting. So, I think ending the Season the way they did was the best decision they could make!
They are setting up for the main guy to run the games. He's basically running his own game already and sacrificing people for the greater good. The next step will be for him to understand that he can't stop the games without a full list of the VIPs and that will lead him to accepting a role running the games. It also explains how they recruit new management as we have been watching the process unfold the whole time. Sung thinks he is taking the game down but he is just playing a role in a larger game. I like the series but the plot is kind of basic.
I loved this season, we couldn’t stop and had no complaints. Plus, I’m glad we only have to wait till 2025 for the next part. Nothing will ever top a season 1 first viewing but this one was definitely a good.
@@laphonz The show ending with Gi-Hun being the new front man would piss too many viewers off even though it technically makes sense when you consider past winners still being involved with the games. Hopefully they will go with a more satisfying and unpredictable ending to the story
what I think will happen in season 3 is that the Front Man, will keep Gi-hun alive, because he's both a previous winner (and maybe the Squid Game rules state that winners can't be killed) but also for the rebellion and instead, he will have Gi-hun locked up, where he has to watch the remaining games, without being able to do anything about it mental torture
Fairly sure that if he makes it to tje finale he will let himself lose in order to at least save one person. If that happens l expect it'll be the pregnant woman.. which kinda makes it a double save
I don’t know. The rebellion I believe was planned considering the amount of ex marines and military they had plus they’ve been keeping eyes on gi-hun the since before he got on that plane. I believe the front man’s going to remove himself from the game and until Gi-hun notices(if he ever does cause it be taking him a minute to catch on to things) everything will still be going “according to plan” and the cop will eventually take his brother out
Or maybe front man is killed somehow and according to the rule of the game previous winners are allowed to be the frontman and gi-un becomes the front man and ends everything.
Season 2 was basically to show that no matter what, Gi-Hun cannot stop the games. First, the failure to locate the island with the tracker. Secondly, unable to get the majority of the contestants to vote against the games because of greed. Finally, his failed rebellion. So with all hopes lost and the guilt of watching his best friend die… we have a broken man (if he wasn’t already from season 1). Season 3 will be his transformation arc where he becomes the new frontman. It’s the only reason why In-Ho didn’t kill him, also the reason why In-Ho participated… he was prepping Gi-Hun. Showing him that no matter how hard he tries, the games cannot be stopped. It’s no coincidence that In-Ho was a previous winner of the games and then became the Front Man… maybe In-Ho himself went through the same emotions/process. Season 3 will most likely be about how In-Ho went from becoming a contestant like Gi-Hun to cold blooded Frontman.
One finer detail that many people overlooked was why Gi-hun withdrew his winnings from the bank. It's because if the Squid Game organization knew what he was up to, they could seize his funds.
I think he remembered but the cop I think want to talk to the brother, maybe he need closure on how the brother disappear and then become Front Man of such cruel games. If he told Gi Hun about the identity he afraid Gi Hun will straight up killing Front Man, leaving him with no answer he need. Anyway I thought it will be crazy if Gi Hun will become the next Front Man.
tbh if jung hae finished his sentence when he tried telling gi hun how played 001 killed someone in the room.. gi hun would’ve started being suspicious of him and the plot would’ve turned out differently craazy
9:40 my theory is that he already had himself take a picture and be 001 just incase gi hun tried to help people in the game, and since he saved so many of the players in red light green light he joined after, so there might not have been a player 001 this time around until the front man joined
So I'm guessing at the end of the first episode in s1, the headmaster(the detectives brother) got saved by someone his brother told him to and to keep a eye on him by making a bond with him
There were hints... 1. The "captain" found him in the water randomly? Yet he can't recall the island he was found floating next to? Clearly, the Front Man paid this guy to find his brother and save him. 2. The tracker in the main guy's tooth was in a fisherman's bait box that he was just "given," likely back at the dock. This was almost certainly the captain's work. 3. The cop and captain have searched almost every island with no luck. The scouting teams have found nothing? The captain is being paid to keep them lost. And when they got close, he tampered with the drone. The guy's an employee of the Front Man, if not employed by the game masters themselves. The breadcrumbs are there.
Right, like I was really mad at him for suddenly getting so scared to go back up and give the rest of the soldiers ammo. Do you think he had PTSD? I mean, he’s still pretty young, but maybe his experience already mentally affected him, and made him scared. Not sure
@@verycooljake2171 no he didnt have ptsd, its quite obvious hes a fake marine and this was foreshadowed earlier when the other side laughed and made fun of him when he starting showing off his tattoo and this was further emphasised when one of the other side member's sarcastically joked about how he was in the airforce.
@Headie0ne He isnt acting like someone who's just faking. He was acting extremely scared and disturbed just like an anxiety attack which most likely came from PTSD
This is what i dont get, all korean men who are not kids have done military training, i get why he is scared but he should atleast have knowledge on how to hold a gun.
Perhaps he was kicked out of the ranks? It's just that for some reason he didn't finish (maybe he was deemed mentally unfit). Another question is, why did he try to brag to others in that case? Maybe he doesn't consider himself worthy of anything as person or man? As a result, he hopes solely for the presence of a tattoo on his arm. It would be kinda interesting, but... It's too far-fetched.
While that is obvious that the captain is hired by frontman, how did the detective's car get sabotaged with an explosive under his personal car when he was following the white limo? How did they know? Who leaked the info?
For anybody wondering why it was done this way: the producer originally wanted to cram the entire story within one much longer season, but the total episode count exceeded what was allowed for one season, so they split the filming and made it into 2 separate season. Season 3 (really just season 2.5)’s filming is already completed.
Such a bummer ending in my opinion without much of a conclusion doesn’t even make me excited for season 3. I love this show and will watch the next season right away, but the ending really killed any happiness that I got from season two. The whole season, it was building up for a successful rebellion, and everyone who tried to rebel (except Gi-Hun and player 120) dying really just made me less excited and more disappointed.
I liked the ending actually because for a brief second you actaully thought Gi-Hun could die which is the exact opposite of season 1 when it was 100% obvious he was going to win the games since the start...
@@PHOENlX1734 I highly doubt the series will end with Gi-Hun becoming the new front man because It will piss off way too many viewers. It's possible Hwang Dong doesn't care and that's the ending anyways

I understand gi-hun wanted to save everyone from the game but he’s gotta realize they CHOSE this, I use to see the contestants as victims but common sense would tell you that accepting a mysterious deal from a stranger can’t lead to something good, even after the 3rd game u realize that if they put their money together they can get rid of their individual debts but greed sets in when they see how much more money they see into the piggy bank after a game ends, u later realize the people that want to continue the game aren’t worth saving they’re literally gabbling with their lives
Youre forgetting that for some people this is their only option. Either way alot of them will die due to loan sharks. Some of these people werent even people who made bad decisions or are bad hearted or anything. Ali was a very kind person but was getting ripped off at his company because he was indian. The dad had to do this to pay for his very young daughters cancer treatment.
For most of them the prize money earned from game 1 and 2 couldnt even cover 10% of their debts. This was stated in an episode. 1000 korean won is almost exactly 1 canadian dollar. So in reality after game 3 they only made about 100k i believe.
Some of these people were def greedy, but others basically had to because they would be dead either way. If theyre going to die atleast they can chose an option where they could maybe live but be able to have a chance at a normal life again
@@sillydingus normal life? Dude did u see what gi-hun was going through? Bro was traumatized, even if u manage to win u do realize EVERYONE but u has to die in order for u to win. honestly i was so mad when they kept saying "one more game" over and over, theyre blinded by the money so much so that theyll excuse theyre survival instincts to make a quick buck
9:23 I don’t think there was an original 001 because as you said, it’d probably be noticed by someone as this 001 would have no reason not to interact with the other players. Rather, the Frontman was always this game’s 001, having been photographed either with the others or before. He could have even played Red Light/Green Light (off screen to save the reveal for us) obviously knowing what to do and/or with the cameras ignoring him as they did with Il-Nam. Or he could have slipped away before and rejoined the group after.
But he couldn’t have played Red Light Green Light off screen, because he was watching that game. I think just no one really even noticed player 001 existed in the first place (like obviously there would be a player 001 but no one cared to search for whoever that would be).
@@verycooljake2171 That’s a good point, I missed that first time, had to go back and watch it again. Just have to go with he was there before and after the game then, slipping in and out unnoticed.
0:45 Grace from the RUclips channel “beyond the trailer” who’s an insider in the industry said she heard that after the original 3 seasons the show will then travel to different countries for spin offs, that’s the contract Netflix wanted , let the Korean dude make his dream project (season 1) then force him to make 2 more seasons and pay him off just enough to then go ahead and do their own thing with other countries and all these game show spin offs , sad but the true art is season 1 , season 2/3 seem to be promising but forced by Netflix
Season 2 is good bt it could have been better also its annoying they didn't just end a whole Season but split it into 2 and 3 it's actually like really not good to do such a thing to fans they are not getting more exiting from people watching it in my opinion ( sorry if what I wrote is wired but am not knowing how to explain it in English)
Also it they want to continue it in different countries I think it would be completely destroyed not just from poor story but you can't keep doing thr same idea million times like some shows be doing and running it
Forced by Netflix? I mean it left on a cliffhanger it simply couldn't just end like that. So we followed Gi Hun he won everybody else died, the games still go on and we just what? Live with that? Cmon now, it HAD to continue.
It was still a part 1 in reports, the part one title was technically a placeholder. When I was an student and had to do assignments involving animation news, it was always going to be a part one of two. It was crazy knowing it was a part 1 and seeing everyone being shocked bc of the cliffhanger
If the vip's were secretly there they wouldve been: "wait is that the previous winner? Yeah im betting all my shit on that guy. Hes basically playing against players that are still on tutorial."
Honestly, since the front man (001) told 465 that he died, there’s probably a chance where they will rig 465 to win again. I’m not sure why, but they’re probably just wanting to torture him.
I can’t be the only one who thought they were going to turn Squid Game into a multiple season long revenge story outside of the games. This a lot shorter.
I personally didn't mind the ending. I knew we were getting a season 3 next year and I think the attempt to take the control room was a good way to end this season. I don't know what people wanted exactly.
This season would have been great with one more episode to at least wrap up the rebellion arc in way that left the season with a resolution and an actual cliffhanger. The way this season ended was like they were forced to stretch it into a third season, but they didn’t really have a good way to do it.

My biggest problem with it is that it really just kills the character. He got there to save everyone he wanted to help everyone. He really left all the x people too die.. i kind of hate the main character for that and dont care if he lives or dies it does not fit the character i.m.o
The thing about Squid Games story, is that its something that could very easily be a 10 season show if they just scrapped each character after the end, which isnactually pretty simple given that 455+ characters die each season. Yeah, we love the juxtaposition between kids games and ensured gruesome death for failure. But we have emotional reactions to character death because at the end of the day, if we didnt feel emotionally connected to the characters this would just be more Netflix slop. I really hope for Squid Game international. Id love to watch Squid Game Brazil, US, Canada, Norway, Or any country. I know so much more about Korean culture and their struggles in the modern era because of this show. It inspired my own desire to learn.
He was great at manipulating. He said he voted O because gihun said he played these games before, which was obviously a lie to mess with his head. He is so used to seeing these players as victims he didnt have a second thought.
7:55 It’s because Gi-Hun is intentionally stupid (and that’s the point!). Remember, he was stupid enough to get into a position where the Squid Games were the only way out, and while he has good intentions and is compassionate, he didn’t magically become smarter or more wise just from earning a bazillion bucks. Same with all the other characters, they wouldn’t suspect each other or learn from their mistakes because in their actual lives, they never learned from their mistakes either.
Ending a season with a cliffhanger isn't that bad tho, it keeps eager to watch the next season and gives the audience a lot of content to make theories.
I agree. What In-Ho is doing to Gi-Hun is roughly the same as what Emperor Palpatine tried to do with Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi: He wants to put Gi-Hun's character to a test, one which he is sure Gi-Hun will fail and become corrupted, just like he did himself. Yet there are still different outcomes possible. Gi-Hun could finally break, complete his "journey to the dark side" and become his successor. Or he could pull off a "Luke Skywalker" and show that no matter what happens, he will not lower himself to the level of the frontman. Even though Gi-Hun has become much colder than he was before, he still has a strong character and a firm moral code. He proved this in the Russian roulette game against the recruiter, where he proved himself superior by pulling the trigger against all odds for a fifth time on himself, winning the game fairly by the rules, instead of trying to somehow weasel himself out of the situation.
it’s revealed in Season 1 stopping the Squid Games is an unrealistic pipe dream as S. Korea is only one of numerous around the world. *VIP #1: "The games of this edition have been amazing,"* *VIP #2: The contest in Korea was the best."* *Front Man: "Thank you. I believe the next game will exceed your expectations,"* *VIP #3: "Well that's why we came all this way. Trust me, the screens we have at home are plenty big but nothing beats seeing it with your own eyes."* There are probably numerous other locations around the world where the ‘Squid Games’ are also held. Each is run and operated independently of the others, while all being affiliated through the patronage of the same elite upper circle. Each location acting almost like sports franchises playing in the same league. They compete amongst each other to put on the best games each year. The location with the best quality games receives the most patronage and prestige from the elite clientele. The entire operation is funded by annual “inner circle” dues paid by the elite members for access to view the games from home on TV, and the VIP’s of the VIP’s pay extra to fly in and witness the games finales live in person. The elites are degenerate gamblers themselves betting amongst each other on their chosen player to be the “winning horse” of that year’s games.
@@LiveFreeOrDie2A You are most likely right. From a realistic, down to earth perspective you definitely are. But I still think that in the fictional universe of Squid Game (which is of course heavily based on real Korean society), I still feel like there's a tiny chance to end the (global) Squid Games: By killing all the VIPs. It has yet to be shown who exactly is organizing these games: Is it an external organization, who does it for the VIPs, or are the individual VIPs the international hosts for their "peers" from all over the world? If I had to guess, I'd pick the second option, since it was shown in season 1, that Oh Il-Nam also has VIP-status (owl mask). If Gi-Hun stays true to his character and doesn't get corrupted by the frontman, I'm sure he's going for the VIPs once their assembled in the same location.
maybe player 1 didnt even exist until only the second game lol. that portrait of player 1 on the floor is probably just a fake or the front man's mugshot himself
I’m wondering what the play with Gi-Hun is. I don’t think he’s gonna turn against the games. He said something about “making a sacrifice for the greater good” in one of the final episodes and it stood out to me. I feel like he’s gonna use that line to justify the games in some way next season
I actually for the whole squid game didnt realise 001 was the frontman. When the betrayal of 001 happened then i realised he was the frontman. Im not sure how i did not realise it. But his face seemed different and the hair. So yeah im just dumb and blind.
i thought player 001 was the front man at first, but we didn't google it to avoid any spoilers so the actor did such a great job that I didn't realize it either.
Wow! I’m just wondering, what were you thinking at the scene of the end of episode three when 001 reveals his face and the music gets very tense? Because I thought that gave it away.
@skyeskye69I knew something was off about him from the jump and by episode 6 I figured out that he was the front man waiting to betray gi hun The captain I didn’t see coming though 😮
@@verycooljake2171 Well, i didnt understand at first why he killed him, but then as i saw that he faked his death...and that whole officer thing (the one guy in black-pink suit) And i litteraly started screaming "AAAAGHHH, 001 IS THE FRONTMAN, WHAAATTT" so yeah, i didnt realise it...i just thought he was on the good side, and also didnt realise how good he is at fighting, and those expression he was making were weird...but i still didnt realise anything. So i felt dumfounded. And about the captain, i got completely reborn when he turned out to be one of the management in Squid Game.
Season 2 is everything and more. I loved how it takes its time with the first two episodes to show what progress was going on in 2 years. My favorite is episode 3 that I cried because it was badass how he yelled FREEZE to try and save everyone. The only thing that was not good was the plan to steal their guns but he was desperate. I love how everyone was so supportive that they wanted everyone to succeed. Once again the cast was all top self and left me wanting more!
Instead of taking a majority vote to go home, you chose to rebel, resulting in everyone’s death. The stupidest turn of events I’ve ever seen from a TV screen.😂
You dont need half a season to explain that. He is some agent the frontman hired to save his brother jun ho and keep an eye on him by bonding with him.
Captain will be defeated the police will find out, 11 is gonna end up betraying the front man and help the cop, 456 will return to the games as 11 gets sick and tired of it eventually it will be a scene where the cop meets his brother face to face, that's my theory
In a way they did reveal the almost 2 part structure. When the first teaser dropped in August, it revealed the s2 release date and the s3 one right after. Even knowing we wouldn’t get it for another year
When the season ended I thought to myself out loud " another 3 years of waiting dor the next season" I'm glad they thought to filmed it sooner than expected.
The main character’s name is actually pronounced as “gee-hoon” (gee like geese, and hoon almost like moon) not “gee-hun” (hun like honey). 성기훈 is the character’s full name
It confuses why some aren't expecting that they literally stated that season 3 is planned too. I just finished it and im like welp time to get a head start on warming up for season 3
This show is awesome but the plot holes are insane haha, like if Gi hun really didn’t want the money or the games to go on, why not offer all of the players his money before the second game to get them to vote X? He could’ve just gave away his own money to all the players in equal split to get them all to agree to leave…
Holy I just finished it. I still can’t decipher the literal information as I was shaking, I wasn’t moving, I was confused, I was shocked, I could hardly speak, and when I walk, I swerve. This show messed me up mentally
Dude you guys just wanna be difficult with everything it made sense to end there. For season 3. It’s better they ended it that way that basically end it with a stereotypical cliffhanger like all the west is used to you guys at too babied up with expect this or that .. I would have rather had all season 3 tho ..
gonna be honest: I loved the fact that it ended mid-scene, it made me get so excited for the next season! but I get people’s frustrations too. I believe that season 3 will make it worth. :)
It’s hard to even call it a bad ending when there isn’t an actual ending season finale. I kid you not it felt like an ending to a regular episode and Netflix forgot to upload the rest of the season
I genuinely got confused and thought my Netflix was bugged
I figured it was coming out weekly but I see I am wrong about that
It should have been season 2 part 1 & 2 instead of season 2 & season 3. They split the season like Breaking Bad final season.

That last episode feels like you're missing a whole 'nother episode. Like somehow episode eight is not loading and you keep waiting for it to show up because the story hasn't arrive to a logical break for a continuation. This isn't a cliffhanger but a missing episode.
Yeah.. they definitely cut an episode out. for a season show to only have 7 episodes is way too short. But then again simplicity is beautiful too.

Knowing he was going to win the games all all along makes it anticlimactic, at least it did for me
@@GregObpar That's a great idea. A new series with random characters without telling the audience who's the main character would be amazing.
@@controlplusc27 Hopefully the American version does this
@GregObpar you are allowed to disagree but you know how these things work.

3 different plots was kind of a mistake imo
The character development suffered, I barely cared for any of the characters, we didn’t see them struggle like we did the S1 cast, we didn’t have the opportunities to pray and hope for them in the unknown and intense games.

That's why the Front Man's team went last in Six Legs (game 2). Because if his team were to lose then they would be able to avoid killing him and arouse suspicion because every other player has either passed or been eliminated beforehand

@@LiveFreeOrDie2Athey have to know who not to shoot
I knew the captain was a bad apple from the start when the officer offered to pay him and he said he didn't need anymore money. He got paid big time. Probably set up the explosive trap himself too.

@thefanwithoutaface8105 at this point why doesn't he buy the motel?
@@YazanA200 wow someone has a really poor comprehension ability
3 seasons*
I liked Thanos @@GregObpar
One more season is enough
‘Squid Games’ is soon to be a creatively dead IP whose corpse will be continually re-animated as a Netflix desperate cash grab as they shamelessly milk dust from the shriveled teats of a long withered husk of a once great franchise
Biggest plot hole is how does the main character Gi-Hun not have any suspicions at all about player 001 ?! Like seriously after last seaon man .....
Maybe he did, but the mask man was so good at acting like a normal guy.
I mean you can also think, what are the odds of the NEXT 001 being a traitor too? (Turns out 100% but there was no way for him to know)
@@artvandellay He personally talked with Il-nam, the game designer from his last Squid Game.
@@pyramidion5911 when he gathered troops and stood in front, he looked like the frontman. Basically a foreshadow

what I think will happen in season 3
is that the Front Man, will keep Gi-hun alive, because he's both a previous winner (and maybe the Squid Game rules state that winners can't be killed) but also for the rebellion
and instead, he will have Gi-hun locked up, where he has to watch the remaining games, without being able to do anything about it
mental torture
I like this idea more than Gi-Hun being the only survivor of the games again and technically winning which is almost 100% unrealistic
All this could have been avoided if the cop told 456 who shot him lmao
Would've needed a picture as well right ?
Didn’t he say he didn’t remember?
I think he remembered but the cop I think want to talk to the brother, maybe he need closure on how the brother disappear and then become Front Man of such cruel games.
If he told Gi Hun about the identity he afraid Gi Hun will straight up killing Front Man, leaving him with no answer he need.
Anyway I thought it will be crazy if Gi Hun will become the next Front Man.
@@JosephJr211he does though. He does remember. He probably just didn’t want 456 to get suspicious of him.
tbh if jung hae finished his sentence when he tried telling gi hun how played 001 killed someone in the room.. gi hun would’ve started being suspicious of him and the plot would’ve turned out differently craazy
9:40 my theory is that he already had himself take a picture and be 001 just incase gi hun tried to help people in the game, and since he saved so many of the players in red light green light he joined after, so there might not have been a player 001 this time around until the front man joined
forgot to talk about the boat's captain. that's what i am also curious about
He works for the black mask man
What’s to get
They ovb control all the fishing and business around the island
Yeah To much predictable
So I'm guessing at the end of the first episode in s1, the headmaster(the detectives brother) got saved by someone his brother told him to and to keep a eye on him by making a bond with him
the Character is gay and in one scene he did a super gay thing with his hair to show that really really wanted to have sex with that marines guy.
388 marine my ass was trying to show off his tattoo but was scared when he had to fire guns
Nah I had that captain on sus alert since episode 1
sussy baka xd
While that is obvious that the captain is hired by frontman, how did the detective's car get sabotaged with an explosive under his personal car when he was following the white limo? How did they know? Who leaked the info?
For anybody wondering why it was done this way: the producer originally wanted to cram the entire story within one much longer season, but the total episode count exceeded what was allowed for one season, so they split the filming and made it into 2 separate season. Season 3 (really just season 2.5)’s filming is already completed.
The ending of season 2 was done purpose so they can tease season 3 of squid game.
I didn’t mind the ending of season 2 because it was unexpected and just leaves a lot of room wanting for more !
The bad thing is that there wasn't an ending but the good thing is we'd be able to see Seung Gi hun's villian arc in season 3
I still can't believe there's only gonna be 3 seasons in squid game. It was honestly so good and they're probably making millions from the show. I mean it was the most watched series on Netflix.
They are turning it into one of those international series where they do the same story over and over with different actors
@@pyramidion5911hope not.
Season 1 made hell of money & to add to that it's a netflix release, so they make a chunk of change 💵
Same for stranger things, which has been confirmed only 5 seasons. They also finish in 2025, wow netflix will get a lot of sales
Because its a story, not like a sitcom that can just go on and on. When a story is over it's over, you can't just keep dragging it on.
They should have made it a ten episode season and finished up the story. Ending an entire season on a cliff hanger like that, is just stupid imo.
its not even a cliffhanger, it was abrupt and uninspired.
It was rushed and episode 5 was unnecessary, felt too long and bored
They broke one season in half and called it two seasons. The cliffhanger is actually midseason. Blame the execs.
@@anitamihholap5926 Exactly, so many series do this, why does everyone complain about this ending. It happens to many series; Outlander is one big one they are doing this with. Bridgerton another series, they play 6 episodes and wait 3 months to show the rest of season.

Obviously, the whole point of the number 1 position is to be an inside man that manipulates the game
I stand by my statement these people deliberately put themselves in this situation they signed away their life literally, and yea u can feel bad for Ali and that one guys mom that wanted to pay off her own sons debt blah blah blah but being presented with a mysterious invite to potentially wipe away ur debt is just something that never happens, the contestants deserve what they get they had the free will to say no and they didn’t instead of weighing their options they made the conscious decision to go through with this
honestly i was so mad when they kept saying "one more game" over and over, theyre blinded by the money so much so that theyll excuse theyre survival instincts to make a quick buck
I tried to find him in any wide shots in red light green light but couldn't
Are you stupid? He literally sat and watched Red Light Green light as it happened. He obviously joined in after that.
@@verycooljake2171 That’s a good point, I missed that first time, had to go back and watch it again.

Also it they want to continue it in different countries I think it would be completely destroyed not just from poor story but you can't keep doing thr same idea million times like some shows be doing and running it
Uh… it’s a great season and more of the universe so? Dumb ass take
Forced by Netflix? I mean it left on a cliffhanger it simply couldn't just end like that. So we followed Gi Hun he won everybody else died, the games still go on and we just what? Live with that? Cmon now, it HAD to continue.
12:52 the crazy thing is across the spiderverse was originally called "part 1" but they removed it from the title
It was still a part 1 in reports, the part one title was technically a placeholder. When I was an student and had to do assignments involving animation news, it was always going to be a part one of two. It was crazy knowing it was a part 1 and seeing everyone being shocked bc of the cliffhanger
Nah episode one with Russian roulette had me hooked
that was the best episode
If the vip's were secretly there they wouldve been: "wait is that the previous winner? Yeah im betting all my shit on that guy. Hes basically playing against players that are still on tutorial."
Honestly, since the front man (001) told 465 that he died, there’s probably a chance where they will rig 465 to win again. I’m not sure why, but they’re probably just wanting to torture him.
I can’t be the only one who thought they were going to turn Squid Game into a multiple season long revenge story outside of the games. This a lot shorter.
I love how Gihun choose to sac the entire X team and endup protecting O team and let's the game continue. What a true hero. 💀
I personally didn't mind the ending. I knew we were getting a season 3 next year and I think the attempt to take the control room was a good way to end this season. I don't know what people wanted exactly.
people wanted more games, but they dont understand this is an ideology warfare. Protagonist is being prepped to become the front man
This season would have been great with one more episode to at least wrap up the rebellion arc in way that left the season with a resolution and an actual cliffhanger. Why was Gi-hun so trusting of player 001 who voted to continue the games? Anyone?
He voted x the second time.
He was great at manipulating. He said he voted O because gihun said he played these games before, which was obviously a lie to mess with his head. He is so used to seeing these players as victims he didnt have a second thought.
Plenty of the sympathetic characters end up voting x, not really a suspicious thing to do.
The only reason he was 001 was to make it easy for the audience to catch on in case they didn’t recognize the front man
7:55 It’s because Gi-Hun is intentionally stupid (and that’s the point!).
The advantage of squid game is that is no loyalty to characters so new cast will still work .
I’ll never understand how ppl didn’t rate season 2. Reading the reasons as to why is just too unrelatable for me
Ending a season with a cliffhanger isn't that bad tho, it keeps eager to watch the next season and gives the audience a lot of content to make theories.

Season 3 will most likely be about how In-Ho went from becoming a contestant like Gi-Hun to cold blooded Frontman.
*VIP #1: "The games of this edition have been amazing,"*
*VIP #2: The contest in Korea was the best."*
*Front Man: "Thank you. I believe the next game will exceed your expectations,"*
*VIP #3: "Well that's why we came all this way. Trust me, the screens we have at home are plenty big but nothing beats seeing it with your own eyes."*
There are probably numerous other locations around the world where the ‘Squid Games’ are also held.

They couldn't win the vote since the stayers were going to attack them and probably win the fight, due to be more men and less demoralised
I’m expecting half of s3 debunking why captain park is working with the squid games
456 will be the new frontman
In a way they did reveal the almost 2 part structure. When the first teaser dropped in August, it revealed the s2 release date and the s3 one right after. Even knowing we wouldn’t get it for another year
Squid game is tragically beautiful, but I’ll never forget the umbrella academy and Arcane
Umbrella academy will be one of Netflix’s greatest sins of all time. What a waste
When the season ended I thought to myself out loud " another 3 years of waiting dor the next season" I'm glad they thought to filmed it sooner than expected.
Squid game season 3 in 2025 before GTA 6 💀
Season 2 games were expected to be more intense but instead, it didn't match the level of season 1
0:21 Isn't it 36th because it takes place in 2024?
It takes place in 2023 season 1 took place in 2020
The calendar in the heart hotel said 2024
I didn't even realise that was the ending until this video😳
Nah imagine if squid game 3 releases in 2025 December 31
We should start a revolution December 30th if they try that shit 😂
We’re gonna start a whole war against Netflix
After episode 7 I restarted Netflix, turned off and on my WiFi because I was so confused since the ending was so abrupt
This show is awesome but the plot holes are insane haha, like if Gi hun really didn’t want the money or the games to go on, why not offer all of the players his money before the second game to get them to vote X? He could’ve just gave away his own money to all the players in equal split to get them all to agree to leave…
the question is will it be enough for everyone one guy has 10 billion debt
His money is the same money as the prize money, if the players didn’t want to split the prize money, why would they be willing to split gi-huns money?
Holy I just finished it. I still can’t decipher the literal information as I was shaking, I wasn’t moving, I was confused, I was shocked, I could hardly speak, and when I walk, I swerve. This show messed me up mentally
Maybe the spin offs could be gi hun going to stop the other international games?
Yes! Would love a prequel. Already sad it will only be 1 more season 🦑 🏆
12:17 i feel the same, but the owner said it will be continuing where season 2 left off
Dude you guys just wanna be difficult with everything it made sense to end there. For season 3. It’s better they ended it that way that basically end it with a stereotypical cliffhanger like all the west is used to you guys at too babied up with expect this or that ..
I would have rather had all season 3 tho ..
@@mranapra6439EXACTLY!!!! I AGRRE
But s4 is out in like the next 3 months
TL;DR - It stopped on a cliff hanger meaning we have to wait for Season 3.
More like it stopped mid plot
@MaMastoast That's what a cliff hanger is, kid, look it up.
gonna be honest: I loved the fact that it ended mid-scene, it made me get so excited for the next season!
but I get people’s frustrations too. I believe that season 3 will make it worth. :)
Yeah but like the comment above said, it was more like a season 2 part 2 then a season 3. Would’ve been better if it advertised it as such
@@stellamariefanboy.6768aot copy 😅
Fallowing your channel from past 2 yeras , Excepting many more like this ..lets goo
Only 7 episodes In 3 years ? It was wack . Season 3 better come out in February 2024 and it should b 15 episodes
A prequel could work really well. It would be interesting to know how all the workers are hired.
