@ᴘʀɪᴍʀᴏꜱᴇ Oh definitely, I don't think he feels bad about killing them per say but the love of the crowd is literally the only kind of love Homelander ever felt in his life. So pretty much everytime he does something good or even just restrain himself, it's for the sake of his reputation, the sake of the only real love that anyone ever had for him. That's why I think trying to ruin Homelander's reputation without having a real way to actually kill him like the Boys are doing is just silly and reckless. As dangerous as Homelander is now, its nothing compared to how he'll be once he has nothing to lose anymore. You gotta have a plan to kill the monster before removing his chain.

@@asims5335 Well seeing as Homelander in the show has been said to survive every weapon known to man (Which would include nukes), I think it's safe to say she can't blow up his head, maybe give him a slight headache at best, remember, as easy as it looks, she's only done it to normal humans, or supes like Shockwave who don't even have superhuman durability (As in he's more durable than the average man, but he's not going to be able to say, take a bullet to the chest, or head and walking away with his life)

But that's because the show has influenced your view of the character. It's almost exactly like protesting the military or a government. They _can_ order someone to kill you. Bomb your hometown. But you don't expect them to. They've gained your trust in that regard. It would be illegal for them to do that, and there would be consequences.
All of this fits in with Homelander too. It's illegal for him to kill the protesters, the public trusts him not to kill his own, he has never been seen to do anything of the sorts, and Black Noir would be sent after his ass if he ever did.
That's why the protesters feel safe, although I grant you It's not perfectly analogous.

Precisely what I was getting at. What makes Homelander different is that he alone wields such unimaginable power. For us humans to kill as many people as he could in 10 minutes, we would need an entire combat force. This is of course unlikely to happen because it would require more than just one unhinged mind snapping, all having the same crazy ideas at the same time.

It really isn't. Personally I think the ACAB stuff is stupid, but it doesn't matter.
There is no natural force, no mental lock that would stop a police officer (or anyone armed) from firing into a crowd. What stops them is the consequences that would follow. What makes us feel safe is their track record - the likelihood of them snapping.

@Richkillz yeah if you see the comics, black noir was created for the purpose of killing homelander in the case he goes full on psycho. However, after seeing this recent episode, it seems the powers have been altered. Stormfront, aka liberty, is very strong. She took his beams to her sternum without cutting her through. In the comics she is a man and gets ganged up on by the boys and some other russian super hero and killed . So we will see how the show plays out

I love how they laser effect in this show. Marvel lasers knock people down, maybe singe their clothes a little, they get back up and return to the fight. And this show kinda points out everything that she’s for. I can *easily* name 3 things in this episode:
-Corporations care about lining their pockets and preventing disastrous shit leaking out.
-A Privatized Military Force (IE: the Supes) should *NEVER* be used because they can do almost whatever the fuck they want in the field.
-Privatized healthcare is *shit* for the common people (Butcher’s Aunt).

Homelander is so amazing, you can see a pure evil inside this big infant, not for power, treasure or beauty. But like those very young children that pleased to kill some small insects, for fun and not mean to do, they just want to be loved so make moves to attracting others. Innocent and cruelty together make him "terrific"

To be fair, he speech and justification for his reckless collateral damage is horrible. He could've easily saved it if he worded it a bit differently, but he said all the wrong things
