@@asims5335 Well seeing as Homelander in the show has been said to survive every weapon known to man (Which would include nukes), I think it's safe to say she can't blow up his head, maybe give him a slight headache at best, remember, as easy as it looks, she's only done it to normal humans, or supes like Shockwave who don't even have superhuman durability (As in he's more durable than the average man, but he's not going to be able to say, take a bullet to the chest, or head and walking away with his life)
@@omarsameh7103 Yeah, but breaking the laws of physics doesn't actually mean anything though, if it did, than A-train would be on par with Queen Maeve in durability, and from what we see in the show, he clearly isn't, so, yeah, poppin Shockwave's head means nothing, at BEST, she's is RIGHT below a missile in terms of striking power, which again, would mean nothing to Homelander
But that's because the show has influenced your view of the character. It's almost exactly like protesting the military or a government. They _can_ order someone to kill you. Bomb your hometown. But you don't expect them to. They've gained your trust in that regard. It would be illegal for them to do that, and there would be consequences. All of this fits in with Homelander too. It's illegal for him to kill the protesters, the public trusts him not to kill his own, he has never been seen to do anything of the sorts, and Black Noir would be sent after his ass if he ever did. That's why the protesters feel safe, although I grant you It's not perfectly analogous.
@Viktor the victor Exactly. Plus the audience knows a lot more about Homelander than the public does in the show. It’s perfectly reasonable that they have no idea how unhinged he is.
@@Durzel Precisely what I was getting at. What makes Homelander different is that he alone wields such unimaginable power. For us humans to kill as many people as he could in 10 minutes, we would need an entire combat force. This is of course unlikely to happen because it would require more than just one unhinged mind snapping, all having the same crazy ideas at the same time.
@Richkillz It really isn't. Personally I think the ACAB stuff is stupid, but it doesn't matter. There is no natural force, no mental lock that would stop a police officer (or anyone armed) from firing into a crowd. What stops them is the consequences that would follow. What makes us feel safe is their track record - the likelihood of them snapping. Again, this applies to Homelander as well.
@@TobesAnimation Nah, he doesn't go on a massacre because he doesn't want to be feared only and alone all the time. He might have superpowers, he might have been raised in a lab, but he still is a human being at the core. Nobody wants to be completely alone. Sure, he has a lot of mental issues, but he is at least smart enough to take these drives out where he can manage to swoop it under the rug, like killing people in Syria or small time gangsters on the streets.
@JustChizzin The thing is, Trump isn't nearly as powerful as Homelander. He needs aproval/red tape/etc. Homelander can literally do whatever the fuck he wants

Just came back here after the Season 2 finale, and noticed an interesting detail: Keep an eye on Neuman from the moment Homelander shows up. She never takes her eyes off him once. Now, it's obvious why: if she's actually working for Vought, she likely have blown his head off the second it looked like he would snap and attack the crowd. So realistically, he would have died the second his eyes glowed.

Literally and metaphorically, the people who are truly powerless in this scene are the audience. I was scared of what he would do to the senator, now I'm wondering what would have happened had he tried.
I mean theoretically she would have tried to kill homelander if he went ballistic on the audiance, but I think regardless she would have died along with the audience, the only one who can keep homelander in check is himself ;)
The last episode in season 2 seems to go the route where he says F**k Vought with Stormfront and Black Noir will fight them in the next season. Or Stormfront will screw Homelander out of vought and she becomes the leader in season 3.
I'm pretty sure that's what she wanted to look like when Homelander appeared. It played very much in her favor to have him appear in front of her and diminish her with his superpowers in front of people and cameras 😉
You know what stands out most to me in this scene is the face Homelander makes after lasering the crowd. It seems there are more sadness and pain in his face than rage. Like he's so obsessed with being loved by everyone having a whole crowd boo him would hurt him deep down.
homelander's Jaw's clenching and its micro movements, really sells the emotion. Absolutely love this scene. Btw his australlian accent was much much apparant in this scene
Its a fucking tough job that actor has to play. He has to send us the audience signals that he's barely keeping his shit together and wants to kill everyone, while the character also acts just nice enough that it feels believable so you don't start asking why people don't immediately turn and run for their lives every time creepy superman he shows up.
Spider-Man : Hey everyone. Everyone cheers with joy and excitement. Homelander: Hey everyone. Everyone complete and utter silence. Trembling with sheer fear.
@@romondoto2630 I’m not talking about the movie, I’m talking about the concept of Superman vs Batman. In dc Superman always gets beat because of a stupid green rock but in the boyz , homelander doesn’t have a weakness and has shown he can kill butcher whenever he wants so it’s better , imo.
In the comics he was actually fighting himself wondering if he really r*p*ed and killed Butcher’s wife. Out of all the things he did that was the one thing that scared him.
SanjiMakesEdibles I’m holding out that this Noir will still be the [spoiler person]. He has survived incredible damage. I hope they make him more bizarro and mutated instead of a perfect version.
@Richkillz yeah if you see the comics, black noir was created for the purpose of killing homelander in the case he goes full on psycho. However, after seeing this recent episode, it seems the powers have been altered. Stormfront, aka liberty, is very strong. She took his beams to her sternum without cutting her through. @Rtkts They could claim the original homelander is dead, doppelganger is stuck in his body
As amazing as this scene is, I'd personally be against angering somebody who can murder hundreds of people with his eyes.
@@viktorthevictor6240 It's like protesting against the police
@Viktor the victor Exactly. Plus the audience knows a lot more about Homelander than the public does in the show. It’s perfectly reasonable that they have no idea how unhinged he is.
@@Durzel
Precisely what I was getting at. What makes Homelander different is that he alone wields such unimaginable power. For us humans to kill as many people as he could in 10 minutes, we would need an entire combat force. This is of course unlikely to happen because it would require more than just one unhinged mind snapping, all having the same crazy ideas at the same time.
@Richkillz
It really isn't.
