    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE God’s Sabbath!! I love ‘having permission’ to not do anything but just read, study, and talk God’s Word ALL day long!! At our previous Congregation, we often left late in the evening (like 7ish!) because hunger drove us home. Haha (We shared lunch together; guess we should have brought dinner, too! Haha) 👇 👇 What do YOU love about Sabbath??

    I want to encourage anyone struggling with this. It still amazes me how beginning with this first step, has changed me and my family completely. I started observing Shabbat in 2017. And at first it was just me. After a year (and my learning expanded and understanding deepened), I had a talk with my husband and young adult daughter. I explained the commandment (not as well as Raquel) to them, how important it was that we all observe, and what it would mean to them. Basically they stopped doing household chores. After about 6 months my husband changed his schedule to be off for Shabbat and my daughter started lighting candles with me. Fast forward to 2021, all three of us embrace and celebrate the Shabbat equally and together. My daughter in 2017 said, "i don't believe there is a God, and if there is, I want nothing to do with Him." Now, not only does she love Shabbat, but follows all of YHVH other commandments, reads her Bible, shares scripture and prays with us. The changes were slow and gradual. But it happened because of prayer and walking in Yeshua's footsteps. I really hope my testimony encourages someone. Thank you so much Raquel, Shalom!!!

    Love this! I struggled with the Sabbath at first, simply because the rest of my family didn’t keep it, so I felt a little left out as they went out to have lunch together, or shopping, or whatever else they desired. Since then I’ve learned to really enjoy these quite times alone, and find myself looking forward to each Shabbat. 🥰

And I feel the sweetest presence of the Lord..and I love the song "Shalom alechiem" by a female singer on you tube! (Bim bam) I appreciate so much, your elaborating on scripture. Hi Raquel, and everyone:) My husband and I started celebrating the Shabbat on Saturday about a year ago . It has been a little challenging. We have read and watched much on what we cannot do on Shabbat . However , we are alone in celebrating Shabbat, and struggle with what we can do on the Sabbath . In other words , what does Sabbath look like in the real world ? A day in the life so to speak .. Other than not working , what do believers spend their day doing ? We of course enjoy Shabbat service , and prayer time , but I wondered if anyone would be willing to share what they do on the Sabbath beyond that .. 😊 Thank you so much ! It is so important for us to support each other as we learn❤️

      @@sarahnorris872 thank you for your honesty ..being scheduled all week , it is a struggle for us to find things to fill the day with that is allowed on Shabbat. I am so happy for Friday , and we enjoy Friday evenings of rest and Saturday service and prayer and worship .. but the afternoon is difficult, and we find ourselves either sitting around , napping 😴 waiting for Shabbat to end so we can do things again or going out for a coffee which then causes people to work and violates the no buy/sell rule. I know this is not what was intended by God . It is supposed to be a special day , but when you do not have community to share the day with .. visitation etc .. it is a very long day indeed . When we close out Shabbat I often think back on the day and feel bad like I let God Down :(. Can anyone else relate to this ?

      Hi im new to torah and started keep sabbath now since September 2020 it's been hard as it's only me and my toddler doing it. My hubby and three adult kids and teenager don't believe any more or want to do shabbat they make it very hard for me deliberately sabotage things making mess ect. so I struggle with two toddlers in the house, the house is always a mess on shabbat even tho I clean day before ready. I have to sweep the floor alot so the baby and my toddler who has multiple allergie don't touch things or put stuff in there mouths you know what little ones are like, this is the part of day I struggle with as I feel like I'm letting yah down by sweeping up 🙏🏽🤷🏽‍♀️ we enjoy sabbath I really look forward to it now it truly is a delight. we like to do worship together then I do a craft with my toddler after lunch I let her play while I read my bible or sometime will read kids bible to her. We find a kids bible movie to watch I also like watch the chosen it's on RUclips the only downside for me is it uses wrong name. (jesus) not yahusha, If its nice we go for a walk or chill in the garden, we sometimes take naps and fellowship with my friend if she free. I'm also learning take time to study and learn as much as I can about the feast and also started doing them and teaching my toddler them. I also watch alot of teaching on RUclips torah to the tribes are good 😊 I think yah looking at the heart that's what matters his sabbath really is a delight and a glimpse of what's to come. Pray and ask yahusha to help you on sabbath. Also I prepare all our food on Fridays (preparation day) and we always have lovely food on shabbat for me is preparing ready to feast with our King when he comes for his kids 🙏🏽🙌 learning to change our mindsets to yah mind so we become more like him in all our ways, maybe you could start a new hobbie like knitting or painting ect and do it while listen to worship music, it's about resting in yahuah and with him hope this helps. Bless you @Lisa hill 😊🙏🏽

    Thank you for sharing Biblical truths! You are clear and to the point! I’m a Jewish believer in Christ but currently at a baptist church .... do you think it’s ok to stay if I myself keep the seventh day as sabbath but go to church Sunday or is it better to find a messianic gathering?

    • @WomenLivingTorah

      My personal opinion and experience is that it’s certainly okay to go to church services on Sunday (as long as we’re not neglecting YHVH’s sabbath commandment, as you said). That being said, I think for a lot of us (my husband and I included), it sometimes becomes difficult to stay due to the constant anti-Torah stances across the pulpit OR because the people there feel you are condemning them just because your lifestyle looks different; (you don’t have to accuse them for them to feel condemned). 😊

    I’ve been trying not to cook on Shabbat but another Torah observant sister said that she does because there’s nothing in the Bible that prohibits it. She said that the passage where the Israelites gathered the manna, and that they weren’t supposed to cook on Shabbat, is in context of not cooking manna, but not cooking altogether. What do you think of this?

    • @WomenLivingTorah
      @WomenLivingTorah  3 года назад +2

      My personal perspective is that cooking the food for that day’s meal is fine; however, I do find preparing my meals ahead of time really facilitates my personal rest. I personally love cooking ahead because all the mental space and time that would go to thinking about what I’m going to cook, when I need to start it, the process of cooking it, and any clean up afterwards instead goes toward thinking about the Lord, Torah study and time with my family and fellow believers! To me, it’s a blessing to prepare my food ahead; however, I am of the perspective that it is not Biblically required. Some people have a different view & that all food must be prepared ahead of time, so I’d seek out their perspective and study it out for yourself! 😊 Thanks for asking!

    I have been trying to keep Yahweh’s true sabbath for a while now, John 14:15 Yashua says if you love me keep my commandments. I go to a Christian church on Sunday and they never mention anything about the Torah because they think we are under grace and the law is no more.

      Try searching a Messianic Judaism church near you. If there isn’t one, search 7th day Adventist. I don’t necessarily agree with everything 7th day, but they do keep the Sabbath and they do believe in Yahweh and following the commandments.

    What scripture do you refer to that we are to congregate on the Sabbath?

    • @WomenLivingTorah
      @WomenLivingTorah  2 года назад

      Leviticus 23:3
      Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, a holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of YHVH in all your dwellings.
      The Hebrew for ‘holy convocation’ is miqra kodesh. The Complete Word Study Bible says this about the word ‘miqra:’
      H4744. מִקְרָא miqrā’: A masculine noun meaning a convocation, reading, a public meeting, and an assembly. This word usually refers to an assembly for religious purposes. The Passover included a holy convocation on the first and seventh days (Ex. 12:16); other festivals also included the gathering of the people (Num. 28:18, 25, 26; 29:1, 7, 12). This word can also mean reading in the sense of a public reading or that which is read in such a meeting. For example, Ezra read the Law of God to a gathering of the Israelites, explaining so the people could understand (Neh. 8:8).
      A ‘miqra kodesh’ specifically refers to a public reading of the Torah, which would indicate a gathering or assembly. If you do a word search for ‘miqra’ in Scripture, you will find it is used when calling an assembly for the reading of Torah. 😊 Hope that helps!

    Can we use fire for heating precooked food on sabbath

    • @WomenLivingTorah
      @WomenLivingTorah  2 года назад +2

      There are differences of opinion about this topic. 😊 My understanding of the Scriptures about not kindling a fire are for the purposes of occupational work. So personally, we do think using the range/oven on Shabbat is fine (if it’s for that day’s food- not batch making food on Shabbat!). Others would disagree and might have a ‘Shabbat’ setting on their stove that allows them to pre light and continue to keep the fire going throughout Shabbat. Others may eat cold foods only. 😊

      I would have to rewatch the video to know what translation I was using, but it was probably KJV or WEB. Those are the two I use most often. 😊

    One more rule about Sabbath, Isaiah 58:13
    If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
    14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

      Thank you for sharing! I understand Isaiah 58 to be specifically referring to the ‘Sabbaths of Sabbaths,’ that is Yom haKippurim (day of the Atonements), which is why I did not reference it in this weekly Shabbat video. 😊 Blessings!!

    WRONG!
    Altogether wrong.
    Shabbos is an eternal sign between The Lord G-d of Israel and His people...The Jews. If you're not born Jewish or you've done an orthodox conversion, then you're not a Jew and can't keep Shabbos. Deuteronomy 31...go read!

    • @WomenLivingTorah
      @WomenLivingTorah  2 года назад +6

      I read Deuteronomy 31 last week, actually. 😊 Shabbat was instituted at creation BEFORE the nation of Israel was created and chosen. A mixed multitude came out of Egypt and were among Israel, as Moses spoke all his words, including the commandment concerning Sabbath. Repeatedly, when we are commanded to keep the Sabbath, we read ‘and for the stranger/foreigner among you’ (Exodus 20:8-11, for example). One of my favorite passages also is Isaiah 56:1-8, of which one Scripture is:
      Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love -- the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
      Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.
      Scripture never delineates a need for conversion to Judaism, if one is a Gentile. But! There is unity among Israel and other God-fearers, for Scripture says one Torah is for both the native born and for the foreigner! So circumcision/sabbath/mikveh, etc are for all those that follow YHVH as God, regardless of nation they’re coming from. Through Abraham’s obedience and seed, ALL the nations of the earth will be blessed (mentioned several times in Genesis)! Israel through her obedience is to be an example to all the nations that YHVH is Most High and there is none beside, and of course, SOME of the nation will follow in faith (Ruth! Rahab! Egyptians! Persians!)!! I definitely find a lot of support for the nations that follow in faith are to be gathered with YHVH’s chosen people, Israel. (Not replace! Not become the same as! But with….) 😊 Many blessings!
      By the way, I responded because I had the opportunity to; however, please keep in mind that this is a lifestyle channel- not a theology channel, and so I do not feel obligated to discuss (and will never argue) certain foundational doctrines/topics, such as the relevance of Shabbat in my life. As a lifestyle channel, it just ‘is’ that I celebrate and keep the Shabbat, and as for the theology behind it, there are other channels dedicated to that kind of thing. I probably won’t be able to continue in this discussion just because I have many other comments coming in from ladies that are actually subscribed and are ‘my audience.’ Just fyi! 😊

    Great job on your videos. However, I just want to speak to your husband and confirm for him that you ARE allowed to wear colorful clothing and some modest make up. Even simple jewelry is allowed as Jesus did reform original laws through dying on the cross for us.

    • @WomenLivingTorah
      @WomenLivingTorah  Год назад

      I do wear colorful clothing and a wedding ring, but I choose not to wear makeup. 😊 There’s nothing in the Torah prohibiting colorful clothing or jewelry that Yeshua would have ‘reformed.’ As for makeup, there are no prohibitions against it in the Scriptures, although the two references to it are in negative contexts. That being said, my objection to makeup is philosophical, not Scriptural. 😊
