      @@theTruthwillsetyoufree , nope, not saying anything like that. But Sonya, by the name of her channel, is of the Jewish faith. They celebrate life in many ways. She is opening up her world, through her channel, to show others what her life is like and to explain why they do the things they do. Someone who takes the time to stop and watch a posting from her channel should be open to what is being shown, or they probably shouldn’t have stopped to watch her post. Then to make a comment telling her she is wrong in what she believes, is not very polite and could be very hurtful. I would hope that being hurtful was not the motivator in the decision to make the post. There’s a time and place for every type of discussion. A comment here, by someone who probably does not know her personally, is not the time or the place to have a theological discussion.

    Jesus Christ would be proud. I am a Christian. I was raised in Catholic and Nazarene Christian churches. I always wonder about the traditions we are supposed to keep and not to keep. You seem peaceful as God wants us to be.
    I always do my best to listen to what God wants. I pray for discernment, ask The Holy Spirit to minister to me and to see God’s face. When I saw Jesus Christ, he said I didn’t know his name. So I looked it up and it was originally Yeshua Hamashiach.
    I’ve enrolled into The Hebrew University Of Jerusalem and am learning Biblical Hebrew. How beautiful and poetic is the Biblical Hebrew language. I didn’t know how many languages stemmed from Biblical Hebrew. How amazing and intricate are the things of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit? Hallelujah!
    May God bless, protect, guide and minister to you and your family in Jesus Christ/Yeshua Hamashiach’s name, Amem 🙏🏼✝️

    Shabbat Shalom! Thank your for sharing your life with us. Very helpful but more reason to study! I'm Christian but believe Torah as rule for life and holy living. I'm 68 years old and have been Christian since 1982 but Holy Spirit spoke to my heart in around 2015 about Torah and the false doctrine of modern Christian church that we don't obey former commands in Torah. I have an online fellowship but we live Torah differently. It's a journey for us and we are at different places. I left the modern Christian church.
    I shared some details in comment of another of your videos.
    So my Shabbat begins 6am Saturday morning because I believe a day begins at 6am and ends 6am next morning according to Genesis. When the Word states a feast day begins in an evening I google what Jerusalem is doing and what time sundown is for me. I have Friday preps but have to start Thursday because of disabilities. Sometimes I start with grocery shopping on Wednesday.
    I have my sanctuary time early in the morning (unless life prevents me for good reason) with Bible and prayer as often as I can. I sit and wait on Him to speak if He wants. It's a nice time. Quite often scripture comes to heart and I begin there. Since third week in September He told me how to pray about predators and then October 7th happened and I realized I was praying for Israel without knowing till then. Sanctuary time important.
    I prepare easy convenient foods for Saturday. Today is chicken soup for lunch and taco pie for dinner. Veggies and dip for snacking. I have diabetes so restricted diet.
    Your table looks lovely and I want to get better at that. I don't have fancy things and I can hardly imagine being as organized as you are! I did quit eating what is not acceptable. I like the idea of creating an all around special environment for such a special day. I'll work on that.
    I'm like that salmon swimming against the current. My family has had a hard time with me having Sabbath on Saturday., no Christmas or easter. They are Christian Sunday folks. I used to try and be with family on Sabbath but they try to get me to do things that aren't supposed to be done on that day so I ended all Saturday activities. I better end this, too long and there's so much more that could be told, lol.

    I would love to see more of how Shabbat is finished. since Covid we have hosted people at our table on Friday and though it isn't shabbat it does feel like a good end to a week and a way to have friend time and to reconnect to a less electronic time. Your videos bring to life so much of the culture and reasons for some customs, so thank you so much; now, if only I could get that Challah braid done properly hahaha

    Thank you for sharing your experiences and thoughts on the Shabbat practice. I'm a Christian and many of our practices are similar. The difference is that we are not prohibited from what can be viewed as 'work'. That being said, most Christians do keep our Sundays free of labor as much as possible by preparing meals, cleaning the day before, and viewing Sunday as a day of worship and rest. Women attend church services in the Christian community; even with small children. But that's made easier because there is no prohibition against driving or riding in a vehicle. I remember Sundays as being a very special, God and family oriented day when I was a child. At Church we practice Communion once a month (some do more), and therefore we have the blessing over the wine and the bread too. Great memories. Now that I am in my 60s I try to continue that tradition.

      I grew up Christian too and went to church on Sunday. Didn't know anything about Shabbat or the Sabbath until 5 years ago. My parents certainly didn't know. I do observe the Sabbath now by myself and fellowship with another couple in their home. We don't do any of the "traditions" but do love keeping the Sabbath and reading the Torah portions. I enjoy reading how everyone does their Shabbat and/or holy days.

    I just love, love and LOVE this video about shabbat!!! I am seventh day adventist and we keep exactly the same sabbath!!! Everything you said in your video that you and your family do on preparing for sabbath and what you guys do on sabbath too and the closing of sabbath, we do the same. I was born into a family that kept the sabbath from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday all my life, so I know exactly what your talking about Sonya. I love sabbath and always have because for us it's a time of peace, happiness and joy where we just do nothing but rest from all our work and everything we did that whole week and think ONLY about God and what He's done for us!!! It's a beautiful family time too!!! It's my favourite day of the week. Sabbath shalom sister Sonya!!! ❤

    This is just the video I was hoping for. I have learned so much about your traditions from your videos but the most important day was missing. I am a Christian but I think in many of the Protestant churches we have lost the deep meaning and blessings that come from ritual and tradition. After watching this I spent time with my husband talking about how we could incorporate more intentional ritual and structure into our worship and honor God better on the Lord's Day.

      I believe the first thing we Christians should do is celebrate the Sabbath on the 7th day, just like Abba told us. How in the world did HIS 4th Commandment get changed to Sunday.???

    • @Aiko2-26-9
      @Aiko2-26-9 2 года назад +3

      @@theresahouck3516 You should definitely follow your conscience about what day to worship but the reason most Christians worship on Sunday is because there are a number of Biblical references to the Church meeting on the first day of the week, honoring the resurrection, right from the early days. There are several references in Acts and the Epistles. Acts 20:6 and 1 Corinthians 16:2 are two places that mention gathering on the first day. Ask God in prayer, discuss with your spiritual leaders and then follow your conscience. And avoid judging others.

    • @theresahouck3516
      @theresahouck3516 2 года назад +7

      @@Aiko2-26-9 God will judge. His 4th commandment several times, only about 160 plus times tells us to REMEMBER HIS SABBATH. He knew we would forget. Actually if you check back in history, Constantine, the ROMAN emporer changed his Holy Sabbath Day in 321 because he was a SUN worshipper. Search and ye shall find. It is the honor of kings to search a matter out.
