  • Hey, everyone! Raquel here to share with you how we came to Torah and became Torah Observant Christians! My hope is that this testimony will encourage you!
*I was so excited as I was recording this video, and then incredibly distracted as I was editing it.... 😂 So... not the best combination to produce a coherent, detailed testimony. I edited out more than I meant to. One clarification I want to make is that when I say ‘what’s the balance between law and grace,’ then I mean we had seen Scriptures which seemed to support Torah, some which seemed not to support Torah, and we were trying to figure out how law and grace fit together- if they did at all. 😊

I’m newer to faith, I started reading the word and stopped going to church and just read and read and read. And I had an epiphany one day, “should I be keeping the law” so I prayed on it. I prayed something along the lines of “father if I’m supposed to be eating the food that’s deemed clean, if I’m supposed to keep Torah and stay clear of the foods give me a sign, I’ll keep my eyes open I’ll listen to you you have my heart just give me a sign” this was on my way to work. Before work I alway feed the chickens and meat rabbits everybody was living and well. My wife woke up went to grab eggs and texts me, “hey your rabbits are dead” that was the sign I needed. Four hours after asking god for a sign he smelled me in the face with what to me was undeniable. And ever since i practice Torah. Get a lot of hate for it actually but I don’t rebuke those people. I don’t look down on them I’m doing what is right in my heart. I’m just happy they are still praising the most high and have accepted Jesus. I don’t know what that means for them come judgment day but that’s between them and Jesus. The hardest thing for me is sabbath since my job often requires me to work 7 days a week

I was raised catholic switched to Lutheran as a young man. I kept finding discrepancies in every denomination. I went to SDA because they worshiped on the true sabbath. Many other discrepancies started to become obvious. Totally disgusted not knowing there was a true following. I accidentally heard a preacher in a messianic congregation. Bingo! I knew at that moment I found what I had been looking for all my life. The Torah!!! Amen! That was seven years ago and I am so blessed... My advice is don't allow anyone tell you the old testament is not relevant any longer.

@@kmountain5533 Let me give an extreme example that might help: Lets say you knew it was wrong to beat up your wife, but you also knew she would forgive you every time you hit her... Would it be morally ok to beat her simply because she gives you grace? Of course not. If you loved her, you would protect her and you would honor her wish for safety.
The same is true of Jesus. If the Torah defines what sin is, do we go on sinning so that God's grace should abound? Or do we abandon sin and rely on Jesus mercy for the times that we failed?

Loved watching this! Started coming to Torah sometime in 2019. So thankful Yah has been patient as I’ve been learning and growing in keeping His commands. If anyone wants to argue, I would simply ask “If Yeshua never did anything sinful (which He didn’t, of course) and is holy, perfect, and righteous (which He absolutely is) and HE kept Torah, why would it be sinful to follow his example?”

Hi Raquel! I absolutely loved your testimony video! I would love to hear more! Especially the steps you took to break away from mainstream Christianity. Your fire and zeal for His truth is so contagious. I find myself doing the same thing when I speak to my sister in law (also learning about Torah observance) and we cannot contain the joy and the excitement when we learn something new... or when God reveals the same passages we've been reading for years with a new understanding! It truly is eye opening. And baffles the mind that you could have seen it any other way.
It started for me in 2014 when I learned the truth about Halloween, and started breaking away from that. I thought it had to be a slow process since we had a child and many children in our family who celebrated and thought it would be super difficult to break away. (now that I know better it should have been as easy as a bandaid) 2016 however was our last halloween, I vaguely also learned about the other christian holidays but decided I wasn't doing or celebrating them for those gods, but for Christ so brushed it off. Jump to November 2018. When I started planning for the following year and celebrations and trying to make them minimal, meaningful holidays. And I started to learn about the seasons and how the Waldorf community emphasizes the seasons and celebrations and starting digging into that. And it all looked beautiful! So drawing and pulls you in with its sweetness and emphasis on children... yet when I googled why the celebrated Yule... thats what brought me to the truth. And these witches (on youtube) were talking about how Yule, Winter solstice, Saturnalia and Christmas were all the same thing. And that is what brought me here. Learning the pagan roots of all these holidays, and turning away from them. Into the holy days, and how they are not just for the Jews, and that the old testament is the complete foundation for Christ's ministry, and how IT IS RELEVANT TODAY. Which is contrary to what the mainstream christian church teaches. All of that, then to circumcision, I have to boys (1 and 3 months), sabbath and now starting to learn about dietary. But, I feel so blessed and my family included to have your channel as encouragement and support in this walk. For there are very few of us. Thank you Raquel for taking the time from your family, to minister to us. God bless you!

I became a christian at the age of 14 and am now 39 and just learning these things! How do we not all as Christians know this stuff.? It has been exciting, eye opening, and i feel so much closer to my loving Heavenly Father. His plans are so simple and intricate and all together beautiful. I have started a channel to try to introduce the people around me to Torah and the biblical holidays. I absolutely love your story ❤️ it brings my heart so much joy. I wish I could say my story is similar but it’s not, God opened my eyes to the Torah May of 2020 while all this covid going on which I have found a blessing because it slowed me down and God put it on my heart to study His word as it is written not by traditions and teachings of men. Wow is all I could say to what He has revealed to me. I literally wept for weeks learning how I have been deceived by so many and how I felt I have disappointed my Father from my lack of knowledge and not reading His word and praying. I am 36, married and have three boys 17, 14, & 3 and non of them wanted to hear my newly opened eyes and heart towards Jesus, they all wanted to continue life as before except my 3 yr old. So I have been praying and trying my best to love and live out my life for what God has intended and put on my heart. It hurts not having the support of my husband and having him think I’m crazy but I will continue to pray for God’s will for my family.

We have recently come to Torah since last fall (2018). It is a journey and I wish I would have come to this understanding earlier in life. We have a blended family with 4 teenagers. This transition is difficult at times with having teenagers. We have raised them in church so Messiah wasn't a foreign concept to them. I completely relate to the scales being removed. It is hard to understand sometimes that others don't see the truth in scripture. We have a long journey ahead and it is narrow path for sure. We are hated by most but Messiah said we would be. Thank you so much for your encouragement. I love watching your videos. Keep up the great work your are doing. Shalom.

Hi Raquel! I'm a fairly new subscriber. This is my first time commenting on one of your videos. Thank you for sharing how you came to Torah. I too love hearing everyone's testimonies on coming to know the Torah.
I recently came to the Torah this past October. Jim Staley's "Truth or Tradition" video popped up on my RUclips feed. The title was, "Should Christians Celebrate Christmas." I thought, "Wait! What?! Why wouldn't we celebrate Christmas? Afterall, it's about the birth of our Lord and Savior!" I watched the video out of curiosity. Wow! My mind was completely blown learning about the pagan roots of not only Christmas, but also Easter! I have been on this journey to learn and follow the Torah ever since. I am still stumbling my way through it. My husband has insinuated a couples of times that he thinks I have joined a cult. He loves Christmas and decorating the home and is not ready to accept the truth (yet) of the Torah. So, I continue to pray and trust in Yahova that his heart of stone will be turned to a heart of flesh. Sorry for the lengthy post!
Thank you for your videos! They have been helpful in my new walk! 🤗♥️

So what is the Law? The Law, also known as the Torah, is the first Five Books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. Within the Law, in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5, we have the Ten Commandments. The huge problem is that the Torah Observant do not differentiate between the two, the Law and the Commandments. With no Temple, no animal sacrifices, no actual Levites, no Ark of the Covenant, etc. etc. etc. we are fooling ourselves if we actually think we are keeping the Law. But Good News, Jesus NEVER said to keep the Law, He said to keep My Commandments. "If you love Me, keep My Commandments". The Ten Commandments are VERY, VERY relevant to all humans. Even non-believers have them written on their hearts. Jesus tells us that the Ten Commandments can be summed up in; loving God and loving your neighbor. This is the Gospel Message: Jesus Christ conquered sin and death and then He sent us the Holy Spirit. Once saved, the Holy Spirit of God comes into us, the Ten Commandments are Beautiful, the Holy Spirit is our Helper and our Comforter. Again, the Ten Commandments are completely different from the Law. The Ten Commandments simply mean to love God and love your neighbor. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, God is Love, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!!!

Thank you for sharing your testimony! My husband and I came from Adventist. I heard that some people questioned Ellen White and I asked my husband to have a Bible study with me and either find scriptures that would support some of her sayings that sounded unbiblical or if not, leave the church. I just wanted to have an answer to anyone who ask of me. So we did Bible study and couldn’t find Biblical support for a lot of her sayings, so we left the church. Then we started to read the Bible for ourselves and I noticed that it talks about keeping feasts. I told my husband it sounds like we still supposed to keep the feasts and he said he doesn’t think so. So I left it at that, but couple years later he came to the same conclusion and we started to keep the feasts and Tora to the best of our ability and understanding. After that we learned more and more about the truth of God’s word. I can talk a lot about it but don’t want to take up too much time of the readers. God bless!

I LOVE your testimony! HalleluYAH! I get really excited when I talk about it too! I'm always like it's just so good!!! Mind blowing stuff! 🤯😂 It's like I found a key and all the sudden the scriptures make sooo much more sense now. Over the past few years I think my extended family and friends think I've gone off the deep end and I have and it's wonderful here. 😉 They have all been very patient and loving and some also curious about what I've found here.
We came into this truth about 3 years ago and it began with keeping Sabbath for us. I all the sudden just started to feel so hungry for the Lord and began praying and telling Him, show me how to love You! How do I love You?? I also started to notice some questions in my mind too like well is this really sin? Lines were blurring in some of my thoughts. I also had a dream that stirred me. I just started to dig in in prayer. Then one day I'm teaching a homeschool history lesson to my kids and it said something along the lines of "and so Constantine changed the sabbath day to Sunday." I literally stopped reading and was like, ummm what??🤨🧐 It was like someone ripped the sunglasses off my face and all the sudden I could see. I grabbed my bible and boom there it was, the Sabbath- the 4th commandment that just gets forgotten when He said to "remember". Then I saw His Feast days the words "forever, for all generations" etc. Started researching church history and where all of this started to change etc. And we were catapulted into this awesome, wildly amazing journey of understanding that Torah is for us as Christians, and what an absolute blessing it is. My husband immediately saw it too. So thankful and we have been prayerfully on this journey together.
I grew up in a pentecostal, assembly of God church so I also had that foundation of holy and righteous living. and I always say how grateful I am for that. They taught me repentance and to read the word and do what it says. Definitely had me pursuing His ways even before I knew it was called Torah.
Anyway, thank you for sharing your beautiful testimony sister and for reading mine in a nutshell here! It really is an exciting journey with our ABBA!! His ways are so good!! Shalom 💜💜

    • @WomenLivingTorah
      @WomenLivingTorah  3 года назад +3

Torah is specifically the first 5 books of the Bible- Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy! ‘Torah’ means ‘Teaching, or Instruction,’ but it’s commonly referred to as ‘the Law.’ Sometimes, you’ll hear it referred to as the ‘Law of Moses,’ or the ‘Mosaic Law,’ but actually, it’s God’s Law given to Moses to write. Essentially, the ‘Torah’ is God’s instructions on righteous and holy (set apart) living, and it is at the most fundamental level ‘the Word of God’ and is the foundation for all other Scripture. Mainstream Christianity teaches ‘Jesus came to free us from the Law,’ but what Scripture actually teaches is that ‘Jesus came to free us from SIN,’ which is defined in 1John 3:4 as disobedience to God’s Law. ALL of Scripture is still relevant!!
A clarifying point, coming from the Jewish perspective: because ‘torah’ means ‘teaching,’ the same word is also used to mean Judaism’s rabbinical teachings and oral traditions. I do not use the term ‘Torah’ to mean all the additional laws and teachings of Judaism. 😊 Hope that helps!!

Hey! Genuine question. What do you do with the verses where Paul so clearly speaks about not following the law where he speaks about salvation by grace alone and where he speaks about some people feel convicted to observe a certain day and others don’t and that’s fine?
This is genuine as I’m studying this topic

    • @WomenLivingTorah
      @WomenLivingTorah  6 месяцев назад +2

To answer briefly: I think the verses where people think Paul is ‘clearly’ saying something is NOT ‘clearly’ what he is saying. 😜
I do believe in justification by grace through faith- however, like Ephesians 2:10 says, ONCE we are new creatures IN Christ, we are to walk in good works. New creatures in Christ do not continue in their sinful and disobedient deeds, but die to sin and LIVE to righteousness (Romans 6)! So Torah keeping is the RESULT of a redeemed Believer in Yeshua; Torah keeping is our walk, our lifestyle.
Romans 14 I understand to be speaking about extraBiblical Jewish fast days, which one is free to partake in or not, as the only fast day commanded by YHVH is Yom haKippurim, Day of the Atonements. In that passage, you’ll notice that Paul goes back and forth between keeping certain days and eating, as if they are intertwined/one and the same. It would seem logical to understand it speaking of extraBiblical fasts of the Jews. That being said, we don’t have the other side of the letter, so the exact issue he was addressing is not a hill I’ll die on.
But I am 100% persuaded through my own studies that Paul taught Jews and Gentiles to keep the Torah and that all of his writings uphold the keeping of the Torah- and therefore, whatever the exact issue is that Paul was referring to, it would be contrary to all his other writings and what is recorded of him in Acts to interpret it to mean we shouldn’t keep Torah or YHVH’s holy days. 😊

    • @SamanthaH
      @SamanthaH 6 месяцев назад

@@WomenLivingTorahthank you for your detailed response!
So why does he teach keep some of the Torah and not all? For example the Torah said ALL who join the Israelites must be circumcised, but Paul was clear that those who come to Christ do NOT have to be circumcised?
Or do you take that as just a spiritual command aka circumcision of the heart?

    • @WomenLivingTorah
      @WomenLivingTorah  6 месяцев назад

@SamanthaH I understand Paul’s perspective to be two fold: 1) you don’t have to be circumcised TO BE SAVED (Acts 15, justification by faith- the initial work of regeneration by faith happens with or without physical circumcision), and 2) being of the Circumcision (of the Jews) doesn’t matter and being of the Uncircumcision (the Gentiles) doesn’t matter, but the keeping of the commandments of God (1 Corinthians 7:19)- which would include physical circumcision. In other words, Paul is saying YHVH accepts people of all nations in His household through faith, but some people have misunderstood him to be referring to physical circumcision & saying it’s not necessary. (The understanding of the Jews being called the Circumcision and Gentiles being called the Uncircumcision is historically known, but also Scripturally supported in Ephesians 2:11, Galatians 2:7-9, Colossians 3:11, etc). Hope that helps your studies! Blessings! 😊

    • @beeinthebodytorahclass2002
      @beeinthebodytorahclass2002 4 месяца назад

@@SamanthaH Look at Abraham, he gave his life to God first, learned how to walk with God and THEN LATER God had him circumcised. It happens in steps (its a walk), we first hear the word, then we believe the word, then we repent of our sins and accept the atonement of Yeshua's blood, then we begin our walk by studying God's word beginning in Genesis and continuing to the commandments and eventually the 4 gospels and last the writings of the Apostles. So faith comes first, then a willingness to learn and obey God's requirements for man, and then a lifetime commitment to continue to walk with God, which means following Him. To follow God means to imitate Him. He likens it to a walk down a path because we take one step at a time until we reach our final destination. So yes, circumcision is required AFTER one gives their life to Yeshua and their heart has first been circumcised. Circumcision of the heart comes first!
      Shalom ❤

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in. (Circle and sphere has different definition, it is not the same word. Also it talks about heavens being stretched as a curtain that we live as in a tent, means earth has dome(firmament). Psalm 104:5-6 “He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved. (This points out that the earth has foundation (pillars) as opposed of men teaching that it’s just rotates.) I am Apostolic/Pentecostal - was raised in truth, and as much as I can see how your current understanding of scripture I don't understand how you can walk away from an Apostolic church. Do you still attend a service? Do you still explain to and teach your children that they need to receive the Holy Ghost and be baptized in Jesus name in order to make it to heaven? I enjoy your videos, was just curious where you stand on this.

    • @WomenLivingTorah
      @WomenLivingTorah  4 года назад +4

We do still attend services, though with other Torah observant Christians now. Every group in our area is a little different. Some are more Pentecostal-like, and others are more Baptist-like. Ours is more Baptist-like, and, honestly, I do miss the Pentecostal/Apostolic emphasis on prayer/praise, etc. But it does bring home the points that, ultimately, 1) we are responsible for our relationship with God; we shouldn’t need a designated prayer night with our Church group to pray or need to have a song service in order to lift up our hands in song and praise, etc, and 2) it’s us as parents that are responsible for leading our children and teaching them what it means to know God and be known of Him.
We do a morning/evening song/Scripture reading/prayer ‘service’ in our home each day. In those minutes, as well as throughout the rest of the day, we do talk about being baptized in the name of Yeshua and being in dwelled with the Spirit of God. In fact, yesterday at lunch, I was using our spoons to explain baptism to my kids. 😂
We still believe a lot of the same things as the Apostolic/Pentecostal churches, but the responsibility to teach our kids those things and to create opportunities for them to be baptized/learn to pray, etc is on us.

Wonderful to hear you found Torah. I believe all of God's Law is eternal, but the ceremonial laws of clean/unclean, such as the laws of child birth or menstruation, or leprousy, or deformities, or dead bodies, etc these laws were nailed to the cross. In other words, the things that made us unclean just simply by being born in this world, these laws were taken away by Yeshua who makes us complete in Him, but all of the laws which require a choice to be made, such as choosing to lie or tell the truth, keep sabbath or break sabbath, commit adultery or do not commit adultery, these Laws are eternal and they are what define holiness. Forsaking sin is a CHOICE and any person can choose to turn to Yeshua and be cleansed, healed, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to stop sinning and live a holy life, including addictions. There is no sin that cannot be overcome in Yeshua who empowers us to overcome all sin. Only by studying Torah can a person know what man is required to do in order to live a holy life. God ordained HIS holy days and we are to honor them and no man can make a day holy but God only can make a day holy, so we are to honor the holy days listed in the Torah and NO other manmade feast days! God gave us a holy menu, HIS dietary Laws, and we are to eat what Yeshua ate and not defile ourself with unclean animal flesh. The command to wear tzitzis is God's choice for our set apart wardrobe along with wearing modest clothing and covering our hair (married ladies). Again, it is only the ceremonial laws that were nailed to the cross, such as the laws concerning male and female bodily fluids, child birth, menstruation, leprousy, deformities, being made unclean by a dead body, etc. But the Laws that require a person to CHOOSE to be clean or unclean, holy or unholy, such as committing adultery, stealing, murder, breaking the sabbath, idolatry, not wearing tzitzis, etc etc. these laws are eternal and they define holiness. God commands obedience and obedience is evidence that we believe God and love Him. Torah is perfect and it is a beautiful way of life!
    God bless you both ❤

So sad to hear all this. Such little understanding of the New Testament! Like Acts 15, most of the letter to the Romans and the whole letter to the Galatians are just thrown out?! Just saw that you are into memorizing Scripture. May I advise you to start with Galatians? You died to the law and are now living to the law of Christ, which is the law of love and is found best in Galatians 5. Has your husband been circumcised yet? Or did you leave that part out of 'all the Torah'? Are you observing the burnt offerings and are you careful not to sit on anything whilst having your menstrual period? Are you living with other women in a separate house for that week of the month? Or did you leave that out of 'all the Torah' as well?
Your sin now is trying to observe something, that has been set aside! And yet again, your attitude has made you an obstacle for non-believers to come to Jesus Christ. (The Greek translation of Messiah Yeshua, oh boy, did God have it wrong to have the New Testament written in Greek!) Living for the shadow of the reality, instead of reality itself.
Now, you may LIKE your religious feelings, but that does not make them right! You totally mistake keeping the Torah for becoming holy. Your holiness rests in being led by the Spirit of God! Not in works of the flesh, so one may boast. May God open your eyes to this. You've been led on another way...
Romans 7: 4-6 "Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to DIE TO THE LAW through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God. For while we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were aroused by the Law, were at work in the members of our body to bear fruit for death. But now we have been RELEASED FROM THE LAW, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter."
Did you overlook Galatians 2: 14 where the apostle Paul openly corrects the apostle Peter (also known as Cephas) "But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in the presence of all, “If you, being a Jew, live like the Gentiles and not like the Jews, how is it that you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?"

Thank you for your comment; however, I will not be debating my beliefs on this channel. This channel is a lifestyle channel, not a theology channel. 😃
I do have most of Acts and several chapters in Romans memorized. Galatians is one of my favorite Books- right up there with James and 1 Peter. And so I have several passages memorized just from reading it so often. 😊 It truly was like scales falling off my eyes when I finally understood what I had been quoting for so long.... PRAISE GOD!!! 😃 I am fully convinced that ALL of Scripture upholds the Words of God spoken from Genesis through Revelation. And, as my children and I read tonight from Matthew 13, the good ground hears and seeks to understand and to apply the Word of God, bringing forth fruit by the Spirit.
Your comment contained several erroneous assumptions about my beliefs, as well as some common misconceptions about what is required in the Law of God, which if this were a theology channel, or if you were asking in sincere curiosity, I would love to delve into.... but I think discussing theology is better done in person, with people who can also observe your lifestyle and the fruit of Messiah’s presence. And you’re seeking to correct me.... not to have a conversation. 😔
So for now, I’ll simply say: I hope we can find common ground in at least one thing, which is that I am determined to know nothing but Christ and Him crucified. I’m so very thankful for Messiah’s sacrifice for me! Now that I may live for Him.... Galatians 2:20. ❤️ Blessings!

Well dear, I've warned you as I think I have ought to warn you. You are pretty deep in it and some books of the Bible were written against this deviation of the true gospel. The apostle Paul goes so far as to use strong words, as he writes: "you foolish Galatians" and even: "who has bewitched you."
The Galatians didn't like to hear that, but he loved them enough to still write it.
Nobody is asking you to toss the Old Testament out, but to better understand what it was given for, wouldn't hurt you.
Since I am nowhere near to you, I cannot correct you in person. Since you are promoting this deviation in public, you are also to be corrected in public, as Paul once corrected Peter in public.
I'm sure the apostle Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit to the brim and showing a lot of fruit of the Spirit. Yet, he erred. He was corrected. He even took it.
Hope you'll give this the thought it deserves.

How come you didn't quote any Jesus'words? Jesus said he never came to destroy the law. Matthew 5:17-. And He said if you love me, keep my commandments. And in 1 John it says, this how you that you know Him when you love him and keep the commandments. We are to take what the whole Bible says on a subject and not just take a couple verses here and there. Jesus said not everyone that says Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but those that do the will of my Father. There is a do to do. And there is His commandments.

There is a living by the law and a living by the Spirit. Those are in opposite to each other. One seeks to obey rules and regulations. The other understands the heart of the Father and lives accordingly out of his heart, see Galatians 5. One is concentrating on doing, the other on being.

This didn't mean do as they do, and/or more, it meant do not do as they do! One must consider. Yeshua referred to these people as "sons of their father the devil", accursed (damned in Hebrew), false guides, and vipers. He was also making the statement that without 'His' righteousness, the only acceptable offering, no one is justified. What exceeds the "accursed' Law of Moses? The Covenant delivered by the Messiah. Those who belong to Him, are found 'righteous'. Not by their doing, but by His.

How do you keep the sacrificial system in Leviticus? Breaking one commandment is breaking the whole law. You said torah is God's standard for righteousness, but it permits divorce while in the beginning there was no divorce. The torah is beneath God's standard of righteousness.

    • @WomenLivingTorah

To keep the sacrificial system today would be disobedience to those same commands because they must be done in a specific way that we cannot currently do (such as with the temple, Levites, etc).
Just a few Scriptures that succinctly address your comments. Let the Word of God speak, and may we conform our thoughts according to His:
      Psalms 119:142
Thy righteousness is an *everlasting* righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
      Psalms 119:144
The righteousness of thy testimonies is *everlasting*: give me understanding, and I shall live.
      Psalms 119:172
My tongue shall speak of thy word: for *all thy commandments are righteousness.*
      Psalms 19:7-10
The law of the LORD is *perfect,* converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is *sure*, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the LORD are *right,* rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is *pure,* enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the LORD is clean, *enduring forever*: the judgments of the LORD are *true and righteous altogether.*
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

      And what is sin?
      1 John 3:4-5
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin.
The issue being addressed in Galatians is not whether Torah is still God’s instructions in righteousness for His people, but whether one can be justified by their doing the works of Torah alone. And the answer? Of course not! Faith comes first! Abraham believed and it was counted to Him as righteousness. Does that mean he didn’t need to obey God when the Lord later told him to circumcise his son? Also of course not! His faith LED to obedient works. 😊

    • @WomenLivingTorah
      @WomenLivingTorah  2 года назад

‘Torah’ is the Hebrew word meaning generally ‘teaching/instruction,’ but it refers in its strictest sense specifically to God’s commandments as given to Moses. In Judaism, they call their rabbinical teachings ‘torah’ due to it meaning ‘teaching.’ But when I speak of Torah I do not use it in that sense. And in Messianic circles, ‘Torah’ can be used liberally to refer to all of Scripture, since ‘all Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness’ (2 Timothy 3:16). So, yes, liberally, Torah can refer to all the Bible! 😃

No such thing as a Torah observant Christian! You belong to the old, or you belong to the new! One man reads. "Don't mix wool with linen", and thinks it's about wool and linen. One man reads "Don't yoke an ox and a donkey together" and thinks it's about an ox and donkey. One man reads "Don't mix seeds in the same plot", and thinks it's about seeds. One man reads "Don't put old wine in new wineskins" and think's it's about wine. The one who has the Spirit knows what is being said. Don't mix the old covenant, made with a specific people in a specific time, for a specific time, with the new. Yahweh could care less whether you eat bacon, or wear wool socks with a cotton linen t-shirt. The law of Moses was for a pagan people. Children; who needed a physical relationship with their Creator. They needed something physical, to tell them what to do and not do. Those who have the Spirit don't need to wear tzitzit to remind them of the Ten Commandments given to Moses. They're written on the One who resides within us. In our temple.

@@jnastally196 That's right, no such thing as a Torah observant Christian! The apostles you just stated were not Torah observant, as they belonged to a new covenant brought by Christ. A new covenant prophesied by among others Jeremiah (31:31). This is why they were constantly ridiculed by the rabbis of the day for violating Torah, and why the rabbis were constantly attacking Yeshua with the Law (The Talmud did not exist yet). This is why many in the 'Hebrew Roots/Torah Observer' community reject much of the Book of Corinthians, where Paul communicates much on the subject. (second claim) Yes, the Law was given to a pagan people, who for several centuries lived as Egyptian slaves. They knew the plethora of Egyptian gods, not the one true God. This is why the first thing they did after liberation was to construct a golden idle to the Egyptian god Apis (Caananites called him Baal). For their apostasy, 3,000 were burned up and the rest condemned to the desert for 40 years. They had long forgotten the covenant made with their father Abraham. At Sinai, they entered a new covenant. One made SOLELY with them! Not all people! This is where the Hebrew Roots folks get it wrong. This is why several of the laws state "The Israelite shall .....". This covenant was not for non-Israelites, nor are non-Israelites grafted into being Israelites! We're grafted into the 'body of Christ', not the Sinai Covenant.
In fact, several of the laws command the eternal hatred and destruction of non-Israelites, some of which listed are Egyptian, Moabite, Ammonite, Caananite peoples. Under the law, no Israelite under the covenant may ever step foot in these nations. If all people today are grafted into the Torah covenant, then no one may live in Egypt today period! You're grafted into the covenant of Christ. His covenant fulfilled the previous, and as Jeremiah stated, "is written on one's heart and mind, not on stone". This is why Christ stated, He came to fulfill the Law and Prophets, and why upon His death on the cross, the temple curtain was torn, removing the barrier between us and our Creator forever. What took place there became irrelevant, as Yeshua was the 'clean' offering for humanity. Also as He declared would happen, the temple was raised to the ground 50 yrs later, preventing the ongoing sacrifice for the forgiveness of purposeful/unpurposeful sin. The Sinai Israelites were given a set of laws, (Ten Commandments) which were used by Moses, Aaron, and Joshua to establish what became known as the Torah. It is them that made up much of these laws. Moses didn't come down Sinai with 613 laws! Today they're 613 laws, which have been compiled by Rabbies over many centuries. (Claim 3) Tzitszits are not required anymore, as this was a physical command of those who belonged to the Sinai Covenant. We belong to the Christ Covenant. It's no longer about religion, but a relationship. Tsitszits were a symbol of allegiance to the Sinai Covenant made between Yahweh and those specific people. They would follow His Law, He would deliver them to a promised land. The wearing of Tsitszits today isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's why you would do it. If it's viewed as a command, this would be wrong. We do not belong to that Covenant! Nor do any of the eating restrictions have anything to do with us. These were meant to protect the Israelites from plagues and diseases of the time. Yahweh was protecting His people. Again, this is why many in the Hebrew Roots movement reject much of what Paul wrote on the subject to who he labeled, 'Judaizers'. We are not held to a covenant that commanded Israelites to destroy Canaanites. To kill Ammonites wherever we find them. To snap the neck of a Heffer if we come across an unsolved murder. Look up the 613 laws of the Torah. The Sinai Law of Moses was non-negotiable, you followed all of it, or you were in violation of the covenant, and as Jeremiah stated, "It's a covenant that was broken by the people though they were taken by the hand and led out of Egypt". This is why Yeshua brought a new covenant for all people. Not just the Israelite. One written on our "Hearts and minds", not rules written on stones, that if violated, may require our stoning, beheading, whipping our being put out of the camp to die or fend for ourselves among our enemies.

When did believers start leaving the purity of coming to Christ and trusting Him to save them... and then start praising the law over the One that the Torah entirely points to. The Torah was written to condemn us so we look to a Savior for our righteousness, not our works. We overcome through the BLOOD OF THE LAMB and the word of our testimony (In Christ)! Not our testimony of the law! Where is the power of the Holy Spirit in this testimony? How is Christ being glorified through keeping Mosaic Law apart from faith in His finished work? Or are we trying to glorify ourselves like a boy scout earning patches. I mean this in love. Christ is jealous for His bride. He wants her wearing His righteousness, not their own filthy rags. He died for this. Died. Why are we adding to His work through the doctrines of men? Or an obsolete covenant? Respect the origins of our faith, but don't glorify the law that brings forth death because no one has ever, or will ever, fulfill the law aside from Yahushua. The Torah was the tutor pointing us to Christ, it is not salvation.
Yes the studies are interesting and I too love to study the law and the seasons and times given in the Torah... but I dare not glory in it. I boast only in Christ and Him crucified. Do we still camp for 7 days on our periods? Do we stone the woman in adultery? Please. Please. Ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit. He is the Spirit of truth. The Torah is written with the hope of Christ to deliver us from sin and death. Law gives power to sin. Christ destroys its power by fulfilling the law and taking the punishment for our obvious failure to follow the Torah. Following the Torah is what the Pharisees did... to the letter... the letter, but they missed Christ! Fall in love with the Messiah not the law. Be led by the spirit of the law, not the letter. Be led by the Holy Spirit, not the Torah. Guys. We are either under grace or not.
Lord have mercy on your people. We need to follow Yahushua through the Holy Spirit. The Torah reveals Christ but is not the fulness of Christ! Why are we glorying in our filthy rags!
He is coming SOON! We need to have on His righteousness alone to stand before God with confidence! We cannot add to His perfect garments through works.
I too have been called to the Messianic understanding of His calendar and times. It is good to understand more about Christ through the Torah that points to Him as our Savior. We understand the roots to the tree we are grafted into. But there is a problem in the body, because people are leaving the purity of trusting Christ and turning to their own works. This is a GRAVE problem. And I deeply concerned for the Bride of Christ.
I don't see this video pointing to Christ. People need to know Christ to have salvation. The Torah provides zero salavation. Salvation is a Person! Yahushua = Yah Saves
Eternal life is knowing the one true God and the One that He sent. New wine cannot go into old wineskins. Why are we sewing old garments to new clothes? (Luke 6)
How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?
    Galatians 3:3
But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.
For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. But God found fault with the people and said:
“The days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant
    with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
9 It will not be like the covenant
    I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them,
    declares the Lord.
10 This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.(R)
    I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
11 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
12 For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”
13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one OBSOLETE; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.
    Hebrews 8
    Galatians 3:24
Let me put it another way. The torah was our tutor until Christ came; it protected us UNTIL we could be made right with God through faith.
Whoever has faith in Chist IS in covenant with the Living God.
If we could be justified by works, then Christ's death was in vain.
Be filled with the Holy Spirit! He writes the true law of God on our hearts and works through us the perfect law of liberty.
There are two children. One is from a bond woman (under the law), one is born of a free woman as a son (under grace through Covenant with Yahushua).
The laws were a shadow of things to come, not the fulness. In Christ we are made complete.
So whom the Son sets free, is free from the curse of being under the law that condemns us. For if we try to fulfill God's will through the law, we become debtors and are condemned, for no one can keep the entire law. But the person who puts their trust in Yahushua, are made righteous apart from the law through faith. (Romans 3)
    COLOSSIANS 2 the msg
11-15 Entering into this fullness is not something you figure out or achieve. It’s not a matter of being circumcised or keeping a long list of laws. No, you’re already in-insiders-not through some secretive initiation rite but rather through what Christ has already gone through for you, destroying the power of sin. If it’s an initiation ritual you’re after, you’ve already been through it by submitting to baptism. Going under the water was a burial of your old life; coming up out of it was a resurrection, God raising you from the dead as he did Christ. When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive-right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.
16-17 So don’t put up with anyone pressuring you in details of diet, worship services, or holy days. All those things are mere shadows cast before what was to come; the substance is Christ.
18-19 Don’t tolerate people who try to run your life, ordering you to bow and scrape, insisting that you join their obsession with angels and that you seek out visions. They’re a lot of hot air, that’s all they are. They’re completely out of touch with the source of life, Christ, who puts us together in one piece, whose very breath and blood flow through us. He is the Head and we are the body. We can grow up healthy in God only as he nourishes us.
20-23 So, then, if with Christ you’ve put all that pretentious and infantile religion behind you, why do you let yourselves be bullied by it? “Don’t touch this! Don’t taste that! Don’t go near this!” Do you think things that are here today and gone tomorrow are worth that kind of attention? Such things sound impressive if said in a deep enough voice. They even give the illusion of being pious and humble and ascetic. But they’re just another way of showing off, making yourselves look important.

Thank you for your message; however, I believe you missed the point. This video is not about how I came to trust in Messiah for salvation; this video is about how Messiah led me further in sanctification through the understanding of His Torah still being applicable. Both testimonies give glory to God!! Because He did both!! He saved me, AND He’s sanctifying me! Nothing about my salvation by grace through faith in Yeshua has changed, rather my walk has changed.... how I live out my faith, the works of my faith. Remember, our faith should lead to works of godliness! Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 2:11-12, James 2. I don’t get to define what is godly and what is not; that would be me walking in my own works. YHVH defines godliness, holiness, and righteousness! In His Word, 2 Timothy 3:16-17- ALL Scripture is for instruction in righteousness. Obedience to Torah is the RESULT of faith in Christ. And that is the testimony I was sharing in this video. 😊 I will not be debating Torah obedience on this channel, as this is not a theology channel. This is a faith *lifestyle* channel, and this is my faith. I thank you for your understanding. Blessings! 😊

@@WomenLivingTorah I know. I know what you mean. I do love your heart. But sanctification comes through faith in Yahushua and the work of the Holy Spirit! Not the law of Moses. The law cannot sanctify you! I see a lot of believers not filled with his Spirit that writes the Torah on our hearts and leads us into all truth. They are looking also to the approval of man, not God. I am passionate about the truth of God because His Spirit lives in me.
If I could be redeemed by keeping mosaic law why is it one of the last things Jesus told his disciples was "be filled with the Holy Spirit" and He breathed on them. Don't you see the first time God breathed on us was to give us life in our mortal bodies. The second time was to give us life through His Son.
Don't you see, the Torah was the shadow of things to come! Not the fulness. It points to the one who IS eternal life. Yahushua fulfilled the law and the prophets. We fulfill His will in the New Covenant by repenting of our sin, believing on Christ for salvation, and then walking according to the Spirit! The Spirit glorifies Christ and points to Him. He does not point back to Mosaic law. But many are not filled with the Spirit of God. They are not born again. For Christ said, "you must be born again"! The Spirit writes His Torah on the lining of your heart, no longer on stone. We don't look to lifeless paper or stone, we look to His Spirit, who leads us into ALL truth. You cannot do this if you do not have His Spirit in you. This is the fulfilling of the Scriptures from long ago. (Hebrews 8)
We are the temples of God now, not a building. That is why the veil was torn in the temple. I see a lot of people without living water. The Torah did not give us living water, it pointed to the One who gives it.
Remember how God's presence was carried around in a tabernacle made with human hands? Well not any more. We are the temples of His Holy Spirit. We are the carriers of His glory and heirs of salvation, through Christ! Not Christ and Moses, though Moses pointed to this work Christ would do so people would long for the Messiah. And whoever is led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. God is my Father because of my faith in His Son. He filled me with His Holy Spirit empowering me to do what the law never could. Do you understand now?
      John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
Do you walk in the Spirit? Because THESE are the sons of God. Not the ones working in their flesh. Do you have the Holy Spirit living in you? This is what is needed. In your seeking ask ro be filled with His Holy Spirit, and you will understand.

@@WomenLivingTorah I felt a huge burden to pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ last night. Christ is jealous for you. He wants you back to Him! He is your first love and He treasures you. He will fill you with His Spirit. You are so precious to Him. I'm sorry if I come off strong, but it is in love. If I look like a fool, I do it all for Christ. He is the love of my life. Here is a prayer for you and for my friends. I pray He fills you with His Spirit! That you will have living water, bubbling up to eternal life. God loves you so much, sister. He wants you to rely on Him and know Him intimately through His Spirit.
      This prayer is for you.

Thank you for your prayers. I pray for my fellow Believers in Yeshua/Jesus, as well. I believe many are deceived into setting their own standards of righteousness, instead of obeying the standards God has spoken and written. Yeshua prophesied of this Lawlessness, which would in turn cause love to wax cold. 😞 His return is coming! I pray we all draw near to Him! Be blessed! 💕

Come to Jesus don’t worship the law It will leave you cursed

Thank you for your thoughts, though I disagree with the assumptions.
I don’t worship the Law. I worship the Lawgiver! Jesus said if Moses’ writings are not believed (Moses’ writings being the explicit Words of God in most cases), then how can His words be believed? I believe Moses’ writings are God’s Instructions for right living, and I believe and trust in Jesus completely for salvation!
The curse of the Law is that whoever *breaks* the Law deserves death. So the Law doesn’t leave me cursed with death. Rather, SIN... ME transgressing God’s Law, kills me. But!!! Praise Jesus Who took this curse for *disobedience to the Law* upon Himself, dying in my place and in the place of all those who will love and obey Him! When I inevitably fall, His blood atones for me, and His Spirit teaches me how to deny sin and live righteously unto Him, as defined in the entirety of Scripture. 😊
I hope this clears up my beliefs, in regards to the assumptions made. Please know that this channel is not intended to be a theology channel. This is a lifestyle channel concerning how I and my family live out Torah and the whole of Scripture. I do not debate Scripture or the relevancy of the Law, etc. Thank you for watching! 😊
