Hi Glyn, thanks for watching. Yes the mk1 Focus really moved the game on when it first came out. JDM import I think the Sylvia. I must have more Seras on my channel than anyone else 🤣🤣
Ford Focus ... also already 2 decades old. A friend of mine had the Turnier (estate) of them and he was loving it to the end when the MOT did say "no" (he had a rust problem on the axles after more than 200,000 kilometers and the car was written off by the insurance some years earlier due to a hail storm - so it was the cheapest ride for him for this long time - he as the 2nd owner of the car). It was very reliable to him - I hear the Focus produced in the USA wasn't so reliable. The German ones shall have been very well. I don't know about the UK ones. Renault 4 is also really very nice. Vauxhall Omega - I like more the pre-facelift. Datsun Cherry and that Volvo in that beautiful blue paint, wonderful! These Twingos have a lot of fans. I was not believing that so many - especially men - would love this car but they really do! I can remember when I was a young adult then we all said it's a girly's car, hehe. I can remember in the time when I was searching for a Jaguar X-Type or Rover 75 then also such a Rover Streetwise also appeared on the ads. It was pretty cheap - probably because most people fear to don't get any spare parts for a Rover anymore. Who knows, maybe the cheap thing could have been a real thing without as expensive trouble as my jag, haha. But I definately know the Jag got more attention for sure. I wished my project "daily youngtimer" could have been cheaper. But perhabs I'm only too poor, haha. Oh very nice that old Fiat Tipo! These have been really very nice cars. When a buddy of a classmate had one and took us for a ride to the cinema then I was really impressed - so much better compared to a VW Golf of that time. Oh nice, a Toyota Previa - did you call it people mover? lol I must remember that term for them. So many nice cars there! And definately not the cars you're seeing on classic car shows all the time. Loving it, really loving it! Just when seeing the little Micra (I'm thinking these mirrors are also totally Japanese) then I also noticed "one moment, aren't these my wafer alloys of my Audi???". Very much unexpected to see these wheels on a Nissan Micra. So many great cars! I bet whenever I am there I need to get some spare batteries for my camera and probably a full month of videos. So amazing to see this great stuff! I also was guessing it's a Toyota Carina. These 11 minutes are really already full of great highlights that I haven't seen for such a long time! Talbot Alpine! Amazing! I can remember about the pre-facelift or was it a predecessor? At least it had the Simca badge but looking very much as same. What a great show and I have just seen a fraction of it.
Hi Sven - yes, a huge show! They are 7 videos at about 11 - 15 minutes each part. The Focus was such a huge leap forward for Ford when it was first launched in 1998 - 26 years old now! Unbelievable. Yes lots of 'unexceptional' cars! I'm sorry the Jag didn't work out for you but right to cut your losses and move on. Maybe a Rover next time? The 75 is a car I would like to own as a daily. It will probably be trouble but I'd like to try. Lol - yes in the UK we called MPV's with lots of seats 'people movers' - or we did back in the day. Starting with the Espace in 1984 really. They were Audi alloys on that Micra weren't they! My Dad had 2 Chrysler Alpines in the 70s - the earlier ones before they became Talbot. I have the offer to buy one!! Very rare......I'm not sure as I would have to sell something to be able to park it. I did think about the Sunny - but then I really like it and it's so competent. We drove 160 miles round trip to get to this show and it was easy in the Nissan. I am 'dragging' this series out because as you know I only post a video once a week (with a Short as well on Wednesday) so it will take a while to see everything!!!!
Nice collection of Focus models. I quite liked the first generation of Focus. The Sylvia looked different and another Sera.👍
