    I passed by it before on my boat.. its really rusted and its huge. in person, its pretty big. the fact that there are dead trees everywhere around it makes it extra creepy. its actually pretty cool in that area, because along that river is a really old train bridge and 2 really old bridges, one that opens when there is a sailboat and one that is a really tall one that shifts in the wind. the boat is somewhere between the tall bridge and the opening bridge.

      whatever man. The word "I" was never used, and the word "me" was only used once at the 1:06 to 1:07 mark. My point is that, based on the limited information presented here, the reporter is trying to make this a safety issue, while the USCG says its not an environmental threat, and, furthermore, Novak refers to it as "unsightly." All of these are basically opinions and is case in point why I quit with the mainstream media years ago, this being an exception, because mainstream news seems to be all about their opinions, versus presenting the facts, and letting me form my own opinion

    That went real quick from “Adrift off the shore in Lake Erie “ to “Ran aground in a river two years ago”! And “At first it looks like any Great Lakes vessel” Would that be a Lake freighter? Shabazz One, a river that feeds into Lake Erie is not “Off the shore of Lake Erie” . Two, there are many different types of vessels on the Great Lakes and they all look different from each other. Three, Adrift and aground are two totally different situations a vessel can be in. Four, A ghost ship is one that is a complete mystery, nobody knows who owns it, or where it came from. Therefore it’s clear that they overhyped the story by saying that there was a ghost ship adrift off the shore, and if you bought that you are an idiot.

    The 'Upper Canada' (renamed as such in 1965) once served as a ferry between Kingston and Wolfe Island on eastern Lake Ontario back in the 1970's. We don't know where it went after it was retired. Kovack must have some developer's floating around looking for cheap property to put some modern condominiums up and sell to the local new mega-bucks clan in the area. It's been awash in these waters for years, not troubling a soul, and actually part of the history of commerce in the community. Guess Kovack would know something about both those things as he's been doing nothing about this nuisance for years, and hasn't earned his keep either. Surprised that Kovak even managed comment, and didn't shake the local shrubs real hard to find a salvage crew to yank her out of the drink before a soul caught wind of it. As with any undeveloped area, the Port Authority nearby would benefit from making this area some posh Urban Development Sceme while getting the Mayor to re-zone this area for Commercial Purposes. Then it would be permissible to skim funds from whatever precinct the community saw fit to Rob of County, State, or Federal monies that they could illicit funds from. Its a Shell Game for Community Leader's to pretend to bring commerce to this area while lining their pockets with tax payer dollars. Been in many Riverfront area's where cities cite public domain statutes, Annexing properties for Urban Development while ipso facto becoming Board Members to dispense savored funds to family and friends with business interests in these constructive efforts. • @justinlynch3
      @justinlynch3 6 лет назад +5

      Well the ship was retired correct? So it's possible she could of already been drained of fuel and oils. She was probably getting ready to be scrapped when something happened to her and she went adrift. You would have to think that somebody had checked the ship out if they've confirmed there being no environmental threat from her. So if she was being driven at the time of being beached, then surely she'd have fuel and oil to leak, right?
      Honestly I'd leave the ship there. Old ships like this creates quite the landmark and interest. I live near a beached ship called the Kyle stuck in Harbour Grace bay, the ship was disliked by the town at first but over the years has become a local icon of the town, it's to the point now that people are actually sad to see the ship has started to fall apart. Back in the early 2000's I think I town even cared enough that they gave the Kyle a paint job.
      Who's to say this ship can't do the same? It's already been there 4 years right, why haul it off now? Let it stay and become a local icon to the town.
