I followed your instructions to replace the filter on my pentair 420. Really good instructions. As another commented said, having your camera pointing up a bit more would be good. I wanted to add some things for clarity. 1. It might seem obvious but make sure you either turn your pool equipment off at the breaker or at the very least put it into service mode. The last thing you want is pressure inside this thing when you're trying to open it 2. My o-ring had fallen into the filter when i was taking off the clamp. Keep that in mind in case you're wondering where your o ring is when you take the lid off 3. When putting the clamp back on your add the small metal washer then spring then large metal washer then the barrel nut onto the t bolt and then start tightening 4. I couldn't use the same wrench to open the drain at the bottom of the filter as i did to loosen the clamp. The nut on the drain is plastic and it kept slipping off. Instead i just used a pair of fully extended groove joint pliers on the grippy part above that nut i.e. the part you'd put your hand on to loosen or tighten the drain
I was under the impression that you should prime with the relief valve open and close the valve once water started to come out of the top. Can someone tell me the reasoning for why it is or is not the case?
I have heard and seen this opening of relieve valve when priming the pump too. I have never done it and the pump always works for me. I think it is to make it easier for the pump to prime. When the relieve valve is open there will be less pressure to push through the filter. I am not sure though, I am not a professional on this. May be some other people should chime in. Thanks
I was always under the impression that you primed it just to get the air out of the lines faster. I've had my pool for 23 years and can count the number of times I've primed it in one hand, and I never have a problem w my filter
Nice job. At the very end you said, make sure the pressure valve is closed before you prime the pump. I think you meant to say make sure it’s open until the water flows through the nozzle and then close it. Otherwise you build too much air pressure.
Thanks for the video. A feedback for you is your next video, focus the video the parts you putting in place. In this video you kept of focus the camera on cartridge instead the parts you are mounting. Thanks again
And it seems that the video does have some good instructions verbally but visually it was very hard to see what he was doing the camera was not focusing on the things that he was doing I think you guys need to redo the video
Please help my channel by buying the Pleatco Pool Filter Cartridge I am using in this video using my link:

Great instruction, you make this look easy!
I really appreciate you sharing the fiberglass info. 😊👍🏽
Great info but you need to show what you’re doing. Your camera should tilt up.
Suggestion: recommend turning off the pool equipment at the breakers first
Best direction i watched so far! Thanks
I am alergic to fiberglas, thank you very much for that tip. Mine is 20+ years old. Lots of sparkles! Subscribed.👍
Just bought the same filter cartridge from you, I have a slightly newer 2020 generation of the pentair pool filter. Hopefully it works the same.
Thank you for the tutorial

Just what I needed. Thanks

What’s the size of a socket for the drain plug?
Wow! Thank you so much!! Exactly as you described.

Helps if you center the camera on what you’re doing
Always put gasket grease on seal.
Can’t even see what ur doing

Pleatco's are the BEST brand for these filters, Pentairs SUCK and they're overpriced AF
The camera man is awful!
Sorry, I am a 1 man show.
