Thanks for your post, Mark. I picked up a Rock Island Armory m206 revolver recently and it has become a favorite of mine. It handles well and I find it's accurate.
Hello Mark, I have this same gun. The revolver wheel was way out of time when I bought this gun, I sent it back, 3 weeks later I got the gun back, it now shoots fine. Good video by the way, thanks for sharing.
Great little guns! I have both the M206 and the M200 (4 inch). Mine have both been great shooters and the Browneworks grips have helped a lot with accuracy and comfort. Thanks for the mention, by the way! Great video garageguy879!
Yeah Mark had one of those guns myself end up giving it to my son absolutely awesome revolver for the price keep in mind you can put Colt Detective special grips on the Rock Island thats what I did had a few small gaps but wasnt bad at all👍
I was thinking about the M206 when I decided on my Taurus 856. The M206 is a decent revolver for the money but the reason I went with the 856 over the 206 is because the M206 has a large blade site and I also hated the huge hammer on it. My 856 has a much smaller blade site, smaller hammer that wont pinch my hand. It also has more options with after market grips. But if I had it to do all over again I'd have bought the 605 because it's a 357 and has more ammo options.
@@fbweaver63 True but many people have fired a lot of +p with their M206. I use Buffalo Bore 158gr +p swc hp. with my 856. But again those 605's will fire any 38 special or 357 mag round. They're also easy to conceal. I bought a Pachmayr Smooth Rosewood grip for mine. Thicker grip that has just enough room for your pinky to be secure. gives great control to it. I also installed a Galloway spring kit. Smooth as butter now.
the 605 is my go to cc. i have an 85, but carry the 605 appendix whenever i am not at work. i back it up with an lcp2 in the summer and a 9, 40 or 45 in the winter.@@thebluesrockers
I had a concealed hammer version that was my CCW for almost two years. I did have a problem when using the wooden grips, which I preferred for concealment. The backstrap would recoil back and chew the web of my hand up. However, at the time I was using a thumbs forward grip for revolver shooting, so that might have been part of the problem. Everytime I see a M206 in a gun store I'm tempted to buy another, just for that retro look.
I've almost talked myself into ordering a set of the Browneworks wood grips for this 206.if I don't like them I can always put the factory grips back on.And I have to agree with you,,the retro look of this revolver is an attention getter.
Nice video, Mark. I've been looking at these, and the new Henry revolvers. The Henrys feel great, I haven't shot one, but they're right $1000. I guess I'll stick with my Smiths. They shoot great and I've already paid for them. I also have Taurus 605. It's okay. I would like it more with a 3" barrel. Also, check with Hillbilly. I sent you some money for LVO.
Thanks Jamie.I've yet to see a new Henry revolver in my area but I have my Ruger SP101 357 magnum with the 3" barrel & Pachmyer Diamond Pro grips. It would be very difficult to top that for me.And yes,you now have 3 entries in the drawing for next Saturday night.Best of luck to you.
Yes,I do carry my 206 here on the property, and it's spent a lot of time as my truck gun.I do have a video of the M200 comparing it to the Taurus Model 82 here on my channel.

Thanks Marc,,always good to hear from you.
Picking mine up tomorrow.
Rock Island has many solid options for great prices
Thanks for showing us. I've been looking at this model and was concerned about the hammer as well. Thanks again 👍👍
Glad to help
Rock Island makes some nice pistols with good fit and finish👍🏻 Have a great Labor day weekend Mark 🇺🇲👉🏼💨
This parkerized finish does look nice & retro.Hope you & your family have a good holiday weekend as well.

I'm going to keep the factory wood grips on mine for now. They seem to work well for what they are.
It always catches my eye when I'm looking at guns .good video
Thank you

I also have the 856,it's been a good one.I do have to admit, that is a much bigger front site on the 206 than needed.
i believe the 856 is +p rated as opposed to the 206.
@@fbweaver63 That's right,I carry Remington +P hollow points in my 856,never had a problem with that ammo.

I love my 605. I had a snubby, but sold it, and got the 3" barrel. No regrets, jusa very nice gun.
@@tonyrebel63 it seems like they would be. I think a 3” barrel on a revolver is near perfect for carry.
I just came across an advertisement that had these for $200, maybe its time for me to pick one up, now if I can just remember who posted the ad lol.
I say give one a chance.$200 is a great price for one of these.
Damn, were y'al shootin black powder ?
I have considered this gun many times, but I just don't care for how slim/narrow the grip is
There seems to be a lot of after market grips for this.
Garage guy, you should also look into the M200 4 inch model. I like both the M200 and the M206. Up close and personal. Do you carry your M206?

@@garageguy879 Thank you for responding.
Hello Mark!
Hello HH
🤘🏼🤟🏽👍🏼
Someone would have to have very large hands, and be gripping the gun improperly, to experience hammer-bite.
