I bought a RIA M200 roughly a couple years ago when it was discounted at my local Bud's gun shop. Less then $200. One. Of the best investments I've ever made. The thing is accurate, reliable, and fits me like a glove. Couldn't ask for more considering the price.
@@charles2675 how is it holding up?? Also, did you had to send it back for repairs or replacement (for something like a defect) the first time you got it because I've seen a lot of reviews online of people having to send it back for the first and even the 2nd time for said defects??
I picked up the snub version m206 and for the price and what I needed it to do, I’m pretty pleased. I’m looking to pick up this version as well because I love the snub so much. Seeing a comparison to the taurus would be great, for at times the prices aren’t that far off.
On the new Model 19 S&W the barrel is built the same as the RIA> A sleeve glued into the shroud. And that gun is $1200. I think the price is kept down by overseas manufacturing. Cheaper labor.
I have this same revolver. It performs pretty good and I purchased it as a replacement for my old Spanish Eibar revolver in .38 Special. I had to retire it, since it's nearly 100 years old and rated only for black powder, apparently. o_O Still I like my new .38, it's black phosphate finish absorbs oil and has no rust. I'm satisfied and since I only shot round nose lead, I don't have to worry about damaging my revolver. I made it a habit to use only RNL since it was very hard to find black powder .38 special at a low price. Overall, this is an excellent and informative video. 😎👍
Never has a an accuracy issue with these (206) although I did have to ship it back because there was an issue with the timing. Rock Island/Armscor took care of it. Over 2,000 rounds and still going strong.
As far as the barrel shroud or sleeve, my Dan Wesson is made that way, allowing barrel swaps within a few minutes. It is exceptionally accurate. I also believe many modern revolvers are made in this manner. I have looked at these Rock Island revolvers in the past, and I have learned through trial and error, that you are nearly always better off by purchasing a high quality firearm. If you can’t afford a new one, purchase a used one. They are generally my preference anyway. Most older firearms have seldom seen much actual use. They were usually in a night stand for decades. A good, used Model 10 will better retain its value, yield more pride of ownership, and will serve you and your family well for generations. I have also learned that, just because something is cheap, that isn’t a reason to buy it. I bought a Rock Island 38 Super, and it is very nice and accurate. I also have nearly 900 dollars in it now with upgrades. Yet, it’s still a Rock Island. My older Colts, Smiths, etc., have gained value and are in high demand. My Rock Island, though very accurate and nice looking, will never be worth what I have in it. Good luck and thanks for the video.
I bought this for $249 and dug inside and cleaned it all up. Felt really good in the hand and after some dry firing the trigger smoothed out pretty quickly. Unfortunately I checked the cylinder gap and found it between .014 and .015, which is too wide in my book! Talked to Armscor and was surprised to find it was too wide in their book as well. They RMA'ed it and it's on its way back to Nevada. This firearm came with all the final inspections checked off, never should have left the factory 🤬. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait the 4 to 7 weeks to get it back and see if they did anything to it
My model 200 fit in an Uncle Mike’s Sidekick #2 perfectly, like it was made for it.Uncle Mike says it fits medium and large frame revolvers with 4” to 5” barrel. Don’t see how it could fit any better.Usually under $20 bucks. SHOOT SAFE!!!!!!!!!
That's a nice looking.38. The only thing I would do is put some high viz orange on the front ramp and be done. Another good budget revolver is Rossi especially like the model 971
They shoot real good. And built. Real good. You get a lot of gun for your money. I bought 1. 5 yearsago II can hit basketball size targets at a 100 yd with it. I'm shooting a hundred and twenty five grain cast reloads.

Just got one. 2024. Is a keeper ❤️

I had problems with the cylinder not spinning.
My question is when you buy a Rock Island revolver are your holster choices limited? Will it fit in a Police Positive or other Colt holster?
Uncle Mike's size 2 for the M200.Yea,it's cheap but it works.
I have one shot it having problems with it running reliably always seems to misfire on a full cylinder
Did you shoot it ( M200 ), before saying it was not as accurate as the S&W, Sir?
I'd look for a nice used Smith. But I guess it's better than nothing?
Love mine 0 regrets on owning it...None!😊
The m200 and 206 are all steel. Don't know if they have alloy parts
Good video. The wood grips from the m 206 fit.

Rock island made parts for colt its copied after a detective special
I've owned 2 rock Islands and what a piece of Junk
So generic it looks like it fell out of a box labeled “Acme”
You get what you pay for but for the cost this is really good!
@@AkiraSRT9facts this is my first gun I bought it’s good for me
Acme products never misfired on Wiley Coyote so that is a good thing.
