    On the lights, the bottom lights are actually the headlights. The top lights are the running lights and that is where the cornering lights come from.

      Thanks, it really is a great feature.

    I own one of these & just parked it today with 627 miles on it so the first part of the break-in period is done with the 600 miles & the second part (higher rpm's) will be done at 1,000 miles & then its good to go - this bike is really something as an old man (76) & of small build I downsized from an FJR (640 lbs down to 492) as the FJR was just becoming too big & too heavy for me & this bike is just what the doctor ordered - I ride with both headlights on (high) & have yet to have anyone blink at me - I also have 2 Clearwater (Darla) Lights (yellow lenses) up front - the only problem I'm having is I can't seem to get the GPS up & running as when I pair it up to the app the dash says - "follow the directions on the app" but nothing comes up on my i-phone - its just a dark page but the dash says we're connected - any suggestions ??

      That’s fantastic Stephen! Happy you love the Tracer.
      That’s been one of the only issues we’ve had with it- trying to pair a phone to it and get the GPS synched. We never successfully paired our phones with it either.
      Definitely a way to get it working, we just never really made it a priority to find out.
      I’m guessing someone on YT here might have a decent tutorial on it?

    The top lights are not running lights. They're called cornering lights. The white LED snakes under the cornering lights are positioning or running lights. The single low beam off-center is a feature unfortunately found on many bikes these days. I keep hoping it will disappear. I think Ducati started it about twenty years ago. Curse them.

      I think it's a safety issue. I'm sure I read somewhere that when dual headlights (or fog) lights are on together, the bike may appear as a car in the distance with its headlights on.
      The unusual lighting configuration makes the bikes more distinguishable to other traffic.

    • @wellsjohnnysfunstuff1213
      @wellsjohnnysfunstuff1213 6 месяцев назад

      No. There are plenty of bikes that have dual headlights and dual fog lights as a factory option. My own 2019 Versys 1000 for example. Yamaha's own Tenere 1200. Many others. It has nothing to do with safety. @@pnmarquet

      Must be cost, I’m sure it’s cheaper to have each light do a single job.

      I agree - curse them is correct - but I ride with both lights on (high) & have yet to have anyone blink at me - just angle them down ever so slightly if need be.

    How were you handling the chain maintenance while you were logging the miles?

    • @roaddirttv
      @roaddirttv  8 месяцев назад

      I checked the chain tension after each road trip, and it stayed in spec. I also cleaned/lubed it after 2000 miles.

      It’s polarizing, for sure. Two of our guys love how it looks, a couple do not. Yet we all agreed, we’d ride it across America, it’s so good.
