Thank you Tony for the Review , I got the GT+ last week, it’s a lovely machine , I do agree with you on the new options , Smooth bike to Ride, love it 💪
Hi Tony, great review. Thank you. For nearly 10 years and 3 cars later, I now can’t live without active cruise control and this bike is definitely on my list for my next 2 wheel vehicle. I was apposed to ABS on bikes and cars in the 90’s as I could stop both quicker without however it’s like anything as once you get used to it the tech becomes something you’d prefer to have even if it never gets used. The adaptive cruise and auto braking just makes the experience not only better, it’s also safer too. 👍😎
Just traded up from my 2019 Tracer 900 to the 2023 Tracer GT+ and it's a great bike! I wasn't impressed by last years model and the split screens just didn't do it for me, but this years model is just on another level. It's so light & flickable and feels very repsonsive. I'm really looking forward to piling on the mileage and taking it over to the Alps next year. Thanks for the upload.
A very informative review, it looks a great touring bike and obviously greet on the back lanes. The joystick control looks so much better than the spinning wheel controller like I have on my Tenere World Raid, thank goodness I hardly have to use it.
A couple of years ago I was after a bike for touring and tested the Tracer and for some reason I just couldn't get along with it. The ergonomics didnt work for me, the suspension felt weird and despite having an XSR 900 for 2 years and loving the engine, on the Tracer the CP3 felt a bit underpowered. In the end i went for the Kawasaki Versys 1000 and i love it. Anyways these things are highly personal and by all accounts the Tracer is an excellent choice.
@@Greggspies Don't care about that, I ride bikes for a LONG time. I love my 22 Tracer, don't really care about the adaptive cruise control and the older display is fine. It is a *great* bike.
Hi Tony. I’m thinking of buying the Tracer 9 GT PLUS. But can I ask, how would you compare it with the BMW GS 1300? Apart from the extra power, the spec you get and extras like panniers being included, the Yamaha seams on paper, the much better bike. Can I ask your opinion on this please? Andy.
Great review. I worry about big lexan screens. I wear hi-vis green and find, like on my ST1300, the reflection of the colour on the screen in sunny weather makes them difficult to read. And if any who hasn't used adaptive cruise, treat yourself. It's great, especially on motorways with moderate traffic.
Thanks for the review. Bike looks really good and agree with you that the plus looks worth the money. I really like the look of it too particulary now with that single tft display. For me though it's probably a bit to quick...would get myself into trouble 😂
Gidday, enjoy your reviews, would like your opinion please, for general leisurely touring, on lesser quality roads(b roads) say between 300-600 k rides, this bike or the Tiger 900 Rally Pro? Cheers (off road not relevant, comfort paramount)
Hmm tricky one, the Rally Pro is a comfortable bike, but the GT Pro would be more of a closer comparison. That also has the benefit of semi active electronic suspension
The problem with KTM is dealer in north northeast UK. Not many around and for everyday users I can't risk that but I tried the other two and didn't like them. Not that they are bad bikes but they are too big for everyday filtering in traffic .but thanks for info
Great review as this particular model has piqued my interest lately. However my question is regarding your gloves. Love the colour scheme, would you mind confirming what they are please? 😊
Would love to see a video that covers a specific route on an adventure Bike, also covers the kit you use for an overnight stay. Being greedy here but...would like recommendations on cafes too.
As stand alone devices? I have both, the Garmin for longer tours or when I’m exploring and I want to easily scan/resize the map. I use a Beeline when I want a simple and easy installation and discreet navigation. The Garmin is obviously much more flexible and offers greater features, but it’s a lot more expensive. If it’s going one one bike, like the Tracer for example, then the Garmin makes more sense. If your referring to the inbuilt turn by turn navigation? Then I’d prefer to use the Beeline Moto II
@@mancavemoto Thank you for your answer, it is very well explained what the relationships between both navigation systems are. I'm planning to buy the Yahama Tracer 9 GT+, so I'm looking into all kinds of options. Thanks again, I love your videos! 👍🏻
Like it a lot. But that's a lot of money. I think the first Tracer was £7999. Great value. That part of the bikes weaponry has gone. And I'm not sure I need to do a pre flight check before I ride. KISS works for me. Definitely room for a low tech no nonsense less money version. Because the engine is amazing. Good review though. Ride safe and happy travels 👍

I have a Tracer 9 GT. Has the new seat fixed the forward slope of the seat that sees you slipping forward over time and jammed against the tank? If so, can it be purchased as a spare part and fitted to the 2021 model?
If you want tech on bikes it's going to cost more. The cost of new bikes is going up. But I do agree tracer 9gt plus at that price is starting to get into BMW range.
Does anyone know if any of the improvements have cared over to the 2023 Tracer GT? Like the rear brake size upgrade or the improved quick shifter? Thank for another great review.
Hi. Guys I need your help. I want a motorcycle to comute to work daily and also the bike should be comfy and powerful to ride on weekends with my wife. I live in London and I need the bike to not bee too wide so I can filter with him. I did own couple years ago a Suzuki GSX-S 750. It was stolen from the front of my house 😢. Thank you and have a safe ride. Do you think the tracer can be that bike?
I saw you were averaging 60 mpg on that TFT, interesting so with a 18 liter tank were you getting around 200 miles range? I have read other reviews that they were getting 160-180 miles range LOL I also know motorcycle testers-reviewers tend to use a lot of throttle percentage, i.e. ride fast. I realize load, speed, fuel quality, weather and traffic all factor into actual mileage.
The radar is active at all times and uses the signal for the brake assist system and for the ACC when activated. But it only acts as an aid when the rider brakes, it won't break for you and its not a collision avoidance function. I'm not sure how the ACC would react when filtering. I know you can only switch it on over 30km/h, but i'd need to ask Yamaha
Extremely good bike but getting rather pricey. I liked the split dash on the old one. Such complicated electronics on so many modern bikes. Give me an old-school bike. Hang on, I've got two. Nick J
I owned a tracer 900GT which was 11.5k€ nearly 3 years ago now. The fact that these bikes are now up to 17k in that time span is crazy if u ask me. The bike has improved yes, it has more technology definitely but is it 5.5k€ worth of technology? I guess thats a question everyone has to answer. But in my opinion the tracer 900 went from a budget sport tourer (a good one) to now be reaching the levels of africa twin/1250GS. If i was going to pay that amount of money i rather buy a 1-2 year old GS for that money.
Overpriced most definitely. Nice colour. Ridiculously shaped panniers (should of copied z1000sx panniers)! I have an XSR so similar performance. Great fun!
Great bike but sit it next to my Multi V2S and it looks so ugly, they need an Italian design team. Seem to have sorted out the dash though and the seat looks great.
@@inked-96Only every 18,000 miles, it’s a full day engine out job, ironically the valves are known for needing hardly any adjustment. My servicing costs up to now have been cheaper than my previous GSs. The V4 big service is at 36,000 miles…
I had it on a demo a few weeks ago, and I was underwhelmed with all the reviews I've seen. I thought the seat was really hard for a touring bike, and I thought the quickshifter and blipper felt hard to shift, but on a plus note, the Adaptive cruise was great to use.
Like the bike. Dislike the colours. Grey on a gloomy overcast island is the reason I dislike grey and silver cars - they disappear into the environment. Let's hope for alternative colours options soon.
My youth is gone, thinking about selling my Harley, this motorbike seems to check a lot of boxes for me, thanks for the demonstration

Safe to assume when the adaptive cruise needs to slow bike down, it activates the brake light??? Great review as usual. Thanks
Yes it does
Nice review Tony
I went for the 1050 Vstrom, hill hold and ticks over at 80mph. Can keep all the other gizmos
