I had the same annoyance with my front mudguard on my Honda CB1000R, being too short. I got myself a “Fenda Extenda” from Pyramid Plastics in the UK. Worth every penny in my experience. Good video again! 👍🏻
Cheers John! I’ve got the SW-Motech aluminium mudguard on the shelf. It won’t perform any better, but at least it’ll look cooler! Style over substance!! 😂
I placed a black SW Motech belly pan after I had Header pipes ceramic coated for $200, they look polished and yum from the previous discolored state and run down look. I swapped all bolts and nuts with Titanium ones. I swapped the front disc floating pins with gold colored titanium ones as well ! On my 2019 model Candy red color 👍
A trick I was shown for bolts that feel their going to round, is to take a brass drift (or even a steel one if that's all you have) and give it a tap with a hammer on the end of the bolt. Sometimes steel bolt and threaded alloy parts bind and hitting it gently can break that enough to get it loose.

Nice polish of the pipe.. let's see how this SW motech piece works on the long run. Approaching 36000km on mine (from August 2020), how much did you put on yours so far? So far so good with mine, just two flat tires and a gear box issue taken under the Honda garantee. Besides that, can't get enough.
Yeah I’m keen to see if the paint on the steel part is more hardwearing than the engine‘s cheese paint. I’m coming up on 20,000km now. Also since august 2020.
Got a full set of Wera Joker spanners, and the mid-sized socket set too.. best thing I've ever used in the garage. 100% recommend 👌🏼 Sump guard looks really good! Matches the bike well, almost looks stock
I contacted sw motech to confirm if it would be valid for the 2018 model since on their website they announced it for the second version of the 2021, and they told me that it could not be mounted and now I see that you have done it .
I think they’re just going on what their records say, because they’ve not personally tried it on the pre 2021 model. I’ll get in touch and ask if maybe they can update the listing. But yes, i can confirm that it fits without any trouble whatsoever! The front mudguard is exactly the same situation .
Before my insistence when telling them that it seemed to me that the engine was the same, they answered something unpleasant that if it could be installed I would put it on their website, I am glad to see that I was right. I follow your work with interest, greetings from Spain.
Nice addition to a great bike, couldn’t agree with you more on the topic of front mudguard length. Added a Pyramid Plastics ‘Fender Extender’ to mine. Made such a difference to the downpipes etc when the loverly UK weather is at its worst !
Cheers John. A fender extender would have been my obvious next move. But SW have created an aluminium front mudguard. If it can’t work flawlessly, at least it can look good while it’s doing it!
Good work, Herr ManCam. Must admit I'm a fan of SW Motech stuff. Have their skid plate and engine bars on my 500x. Well made and fits well. Good tools are essential in any job.. Happy travels 👍
Hi Andy hope you are doing well and Happy as a sunshine 😎 hey for the chipped paint on the lower engine Consider PJ1 Satin Black spray paint, it is fabulous and I used it in same scenario. Good to see you Andy. It’s funny I never buy a naked bike and think “What that needs is some plastic bits to cover it up.” Still many seem to do just that. So what do I know 😂
Mostly i do agree with you! But that little area under the pipes always looks a little tidier imho when it’s closed up a tiny bit. And I’d never put a plastic panel on there! 😂. Same with the dash. The clocks always look a bit rubbish and unfinished (ever since they stopped using real clocks and stick cheap plastic housings around the lcd/tft displays. Very lazy styling) so the little Ally screen i have is just perfect to hide an ugly oversight!
Well done Andy, & SW-Motech, that belly pan really dose look great I'll have to see on their website if they do one for Kawasaki Vulcan S, I need a radiator grill cover as well only had my Vulcan two weeks it's still looks like a brand new 3 year old bike not a mark on it so thanks for your channel I've been to with you since month two, best channel on my YT, cheers Andy
Cheers Geoffrey. My 2 year old bike looks like a 10 year old one! 🤣 Another year like this and the old FZ1 will probably be in better condition! Wonder if i could buy it back cheap!? 😆
Looks spot on Andy. At least only part of the downpipes will get blitzed now…and there’s some nice little crevices to clean out….😬 I think we’ve all learned the hard way with cheap tools, and it’s nice to see some rain in yer videos ✅
A beautiful and easy mod to help keep that top quality engine finish in tip top shape. Those countersunk Allen bolts are well done. Very high quality piece of kit. Bloody hell. At worst, they will last you a lifetime and they help reduce the likelihood of rounding off the Cheesium made parts we all sadly begin to see across all the brands. Very nice look. @@AndyManCam I use to call it Chinesium. However there are some good quality tools coming out of China, when the right company with good QC is in charge. Cheesium is also less derogatory.
Andy, you should buy the sw-motech Aluminum front fender and make a video. They are finally available and I just placed an order because the OEM fender is made of plastic which I’m not a fan of.
Another cracking video. Tj ask for the bolt tip too. Wera seems top notch. Might invest in a kit for under the seat. Any recommendations? Thanks again!
Good to see you again, Sir. It has been a while. Increasing amount of grumpyness, i notice...sounds like you are just about old enough for a proper touring bike😁
It has been a while! Big changes that will hopefully change that soon. I think i am just about teaching that level of grumpyness! I’m also slowly reaching that level of discomfort too! I maybe need something bigger sooner, rather than later!!
Hi Andy, always nice to see you show and test out fancy pants stuff that I can consider for my CB1000R. A few observations on this one. Looks nice and matches other bits well but I wonder if it’ll catch and trap more crud than it’ll stop? Not sure about your comments on bolt steel quality. They’ll have a material optimised for their purpose and perhaps if you’d used the Joker in the first place all would have been well? Ie about the tool fit rather than bolt steel. Finally, not sure that your zealous use of thread lock is best. It’s very rare for correctly torqued screws to come loose and you may just be creating more stuck screw headaches for yourself. I think Thread lock is generally for safety critical fixings. Sorry about what looks like a long whinge, it’s only because I care ;-)
As long as it catches the crud BEFORE it’s worn more cream cheese Paint off the front of my engine, I’m happy to clean it out! Thankfully there aren’t really any nooks or crannies with this Bellypan design. Flat sides, open in the bottom, open in the corners. So should be easy enough to rinse anything through with the jetwash. I agree that it’s possible that with the better spanner, maybe the bolts would have come loose first go. The only thing that reinforces my feeling that they’re just incredibly soft is that this has never happened before and I’ve had the same tools for almost 20 years! As for the threadlock, i‘m just going with what SW tells me! Plus I’ve actually had correctly torqued bolts come loose in the past, so I’d rather err on the side of caution. Parts falling off at 120mph on the Autobahn is not funny! It’s also only medium strength and I’ve learned to be VERY sparing!! 😉
Nice one looks great hides that weird positioning of the oil filter too I cant believe your were that calm when rounding off the bolts? I would have got a bit sweary to say the least! My old Suzuki was made of all sorts of Cheese parts, I thought Honda were supposed to be better than that?
I thought so too mate. Maybe they used to be, but Sod’s law the wheels come off the wagon just as i pour my money into it! I’ve learned that by staying calm i tend to avoid doing more damage in the rage! I’ve thrown spanners at the floor before only for them to bounce up and either hit me, or far worse chip some paintwork!! 😆
Brilliant watch Andy, sorry I was laughing at your 'toffee' bolt analogy 😂🤣. I did also feel your pain & frustration but Honda & other manufacturers need to up their game & fit better quality bolts etc... Also agree about the mudguard comment. Keep the bids coming 👍👏
Thanks Rob. I’m sure our complaints will continue to fall on deaf ears! Maybe i should start switching bolts out, while i live near to a hardware store!
@@AndyManCam One Mr Tryphonos has been known to purchase certain OEM Japanese bolts individually (not Honda, obvs :( ;) ) using the fiche part numbers. Seeing the state of the MT10 lower linkage bolts at 4 years/18,000 miles, I'm tempted to do the same... (at least they have recently come out, cleaned up and re-greased! )
Hi Andy. Did you notice if it made the the bike a bit noisier? Like it was echoing the engine or howling in the wind..for want of better description. Cheers.
Good video AMC. I see it’s not just me then who has to go out and buy tools in order to finish jobs! Always something isn’t there 👍. Belly pan looks good as well 👌
Cheers mate. I’ve had a good run lately. Haven’t had to rush out and get tools since the chain adjuster snapped on the Versys and i tried everything to get the bolt out! 🤦🏻♂️
My response to "bike getting coated in shite" was refuse to wash it. I own an 2018 MT-09 & first few weeks I washed it almost daily. Then storm Arwen arrived & destroyed my garage & even succeeded in blowing over the bike causing 2 tiny dents in the tank. Result being, never been washed since Oct last year, & I'm even struggling to secure the effort to maintain it. Would love to upgrade it to newer but health preventing employment so finance also impossible to obtain.
Sorry to hear about that mate. Totally get it. Struggling with time and health lately has also meant riding takes priority over cleaning! I wouldn’t want to leave the Honda too long without cleaning it though! There’d likely be nothing left!
Andy welcome to the world of mechanics VRS engineers, hahaha get yourself single hex ring spanners and sockets especially 6-12mm keep up the good work Cheers Glenn.
The overriding improvement of the CB over the FZ1 is the fuelling. Waaaay smoother and more enjoyable in the Honda. Also there’s more torque down low so the power Delivery is much thicker and smoother. The quality of finish is far superior on the FZ1 though. Nuts and bolts on the Honda are furry and dull on the Honda after 2 years whereas the FZ1 still had shiny and not rounded bolts after 14 years. The suspension on the FZ1 is also better from the factory. The rear shock on the CB is a horrible piece of crap.
Sweet, looks as if it'll do a decent job of keeping the pipes protected. I was thinking of getting a belly pan for my CB650R, but can't seem to find one, I like the look of. 😅
Mine is a 2019, which is exactly the same as the 2018. it fits perfectly and I’ve told SW that several times, but they don’t seem bothered about getting the sales in and haven’t changed anything.
Noticing the same Mr. Softy bolts on my Honda CB650F too, even the belly pan paintwork has the same croissant-like flakiness you showed in your other vid. :( Love the look of the bellypan though, sw-motech quality all the way! 💪
Hello, I see that you removed the crash bars you had mounted on that bike. Any reason why? What is your feedback on these? I'm interested in the SV-motech crash bars but can't find much feedback on them. Thanks in advance and keep up the great job with the videos.
Hey Andy, looks great , and looks proper good quality, matches the factory brushed aluminium nicely, we share the same luck with the bolts, I’m an expert at rounding them off but maybe it’s not me and it’s down to the toffee and cheese bolts, I’ll have to look at SW-Motech to see what’s available for my CB1100RS too, thanks for the video bud 👍
If honda could at least use slightly harder toffee, we might stand a chance! I’ve never rounded as many bolts as in the 2 short years I’ve had this bike!
@@AndyManCam if only they could make them from harder toffee, you would expect more from a premium brand, I think many of the leading manufacturers are slipping on quality now, my Bmw is suffering from corrosion, engine paint swing arm and wheels, it is a 14 plate but the price I paid you wouldn’t expect it , not had toffee nuts as of yet, sounds wrong that 😄
Useless front fenders are a HUGE pet peeve of mine. It seems like the only company that actually understands the purpose of a fender these days is Royal Enfield. I put a Pyramid Fenda Extenda on my Versys. Even the Extenda is shorter than I would like. One day I got back from a ride, and found that somewhere I had ridden through wet, white, traffic paint without knowing it. That was a PITA to clean off the underside of the bike, but it would have been even worse w/o the Extenda. SInce then I have made my own radiator guard using aluminum window screen to ensure the holes are small enough to catch blobs of paint instead of letting them through to the radiator.
Hi there. Have you got video about your central paddock stand? Are you happy with it? Did you consider abba? If so why did you chose this one..? I am about to get one but not sure which one to buy yet.. Both looking quite similar..
Hi! No video I'm afraid. It's a relatively cheap stand from Motea. The Abba one was about 5 times the price and I didn't really have room for it in the garage.
Andy I'd really recommend a decent set of single hex sockets. Multi hex are horrid and to be avoided where possible as they are too willing to slip, plus if the bolt are cheap metal single hex is far less likely to have an issue
Hello Andy .I just bought a 2005 fz1...I trying to get a new IMPROVED VERSION STATOR FLYWHEEL FOR IT....I CAN NOT FIND IT ANYWHERE !!! PLEASE HELP ME .DO I ACCTUALLY NEED TO REPLACE. IT....? PS: THE BIKE YOU REPLACED THE stator flywheel (was a newer model than my )...
I totally agree. I’ve got 6 point deep drive sockets but they only went down to 13mm 🤦🏻♂️ I reckon I’ll leave the wrapping on this but until it’s so scratched that i can’t bear to look at it anymore! Though with a brushed finish, that takes longer than with gloss plastic!!
Hi Andy - I happen to have the same Honda CB1000r, SC80 altough mine is from 2018. I wanted to put on a Bellypan and a better Front Fender forever. As it seems you did both of it (I somehow remember you had an aluminium Fender on it at some point) However, if I look at the parts at the SW-Motech website this Stuff seems to be for the new 2021 model and not the older SC80. Did you somehow get adapted parts or are they just fitting anyway because they didnt change anything relating to bolting positions?
Nice one Andy , really good quality stuff sw motech 👌 ya can't beat a good spanner 👍your luck the Honda bolts didn't snap, that would be poo 😉 keep it up 🤩
Beautiful maintained bike you have with all those extras , I must ask what bike would you consider next I really think you would never buy another Honda .
A great add on for the CB, Andy It's a great pity but the majority of bike manufacturers now think that a scrap of plastic slung above the front wheel can be called a 'mudguard'. Have a look at Ducatis, MV's, and some Indian bikes for extreme examples.
Cheers Jim. Yeah i know it. The Ducati mudguards are particularly laughable. I guess it shows that they come from a fair weather country! But then Triumph mudguards should cover 270° of the wheel!!
I thought the same at first. Turns out it was just polish remnants or pres-wax. It all rubbed off nice and easy. I think brushed finish will hide scratches and stone chips way better than a gloss finish, for example. Plus i accept that because i use the bike a lot, it’s never going to keep a showroom condition.
I can’t be certain, but i think so. Mine is a 2020 and I’m pretty sure they didn’t change anything until 2021. although this fits the newer models too.
Thanks for the video, I saw a guy once on his cb and he had ordered the belly from Japan and It looked much nicer than this one ( no offence ) however he did mention it was custom job and it looked almost like a race bike fairing where as this one looks ok still but not really stylish.
I'm on the fence with getting a belly pan. Being it's a naked, it sort of defeats the point some. And, it really won't stop the need to have to polish the pipes any less. Yeah, it might protect them some. If anything, that and protecting the engine casing (which is also corroded on my bike too) would be the reason for getting a bellypan. Not for the looks IMHO. Hmm......
I do agree with you to a degree Scott. Though this is definitely the best looking one out there imho. Fits in with the ally-panel styling of the rest of the bike. The other brands with their hideous plastic monstrosities are way wide of the mark with this bike. I really should have taken some video of the pipes before i polished them. The corners, right behind where the black part of the bellypan now is, were considerably worse than all the rest of the pipes. So although I’ll still have to polish, it’ll be a light touch up rather than a full on re-work!
@@AndyManCam You are right about the quality of the pan. If I would add one, it would be SW-Motec‘s for sure. I think, since I‘m a fair weather rider for the most part, I‘ll not add the pan. If my riding habits change to where I ride in more inclement weather, I‘ll add one too. Btw, inspired by your wrapping video and because I wasn‘t happy with the all black wrap the previous owner had on it, I took on wrapping my bike and I think it turned out quite special. I‘m currently waiting for some Honda logo stickers to arrive and once they are on, I‘ll be making some pics or even a vid. I‘d like to get your opinion on my work.
Totally get that mate. If i was more fair weather, it wouldn’t be so important to me. Congrats on the wrap. It’s always worth giving it a go. Small investment and sometimes it works magnificently!!
Honda quality :))) Why did you kept the other two screws if they are crap? That's the weirdest bellypan I have ever seen, but I must admit, it looks good there
The first two were obviously looser and didn’t round off. So i was still believing that the bolts were of ok quality. In the end i binned all the bolts! Cheap rubbish! I agree that although a little different, the bellypan looks good on this bike. 👍🏻
What! did you say a Wera Joker wrench is only 8.50 euro? In Canada a single wrench is like $35 - $40 a piece... a 4 piece set is $100. lol ( I did crack into my kids college fund to get the Wera Tool-Check Plus because it fits perfectly under the pilion seat of my KTM Duke... I'll pay it back later 😂 )
Wow, thats lumpy. Yeah between 8,50€ and 13€ depending on the size. 50€ for the 4 piece set 100€ for the 11 piece set. Benefits of being in the country of origin i suppose! I’m sure the kids will understand.
Those downpipes are über clean! Have you tried King Dick tools? I jest not! Got to be honest, I'm not a fan of the look of that belly pan, but I still wear flared trousers, 1970's red chequed Lumber Jackets and if I had hair it would be a mullet! 😬
Seems like Honda build quality has gone from the best to one of the worst, but I am a fan of anything SW-Motech, great kit. So agree with you re investing in quality tools, despite my late father being a good engineer I learned the hard way.
Same here. My dad was an army mechanic for 25 years, but sadly also a tight arse! So I’ve always bodged through with whatever i could get my hands on! But no more!!
Mate, looks phenomenal 👌🏻 Murphy’s law, when a bike project seems simple. Damn you Honda, and those cheap fasteners 😡 ALL manufacturers should be using titanium bolts. Btw. Hope you’re keeping well.
Cheers Mike. Covid excepting, doing fine cheers mate. It is always the way isn’t it. The rotor swap on the FZ1 was considerably faster than this job! 😅
Make sure removing original bolts n nuts and using Sw's there is a chance of huge vibration...and CS ....very below expectation Or I was the unlucky one😮
Black is also available. I had always planned to get the other factory panels black anodized. But as i haven’t had the time and now no longer have the money, i decided to go with silver so that everything matches.
Andy you didn't have any problems with quality with your Yamaha. But your right that is a good looking bike for sure. Belly Pan is a nice touch finishes off the look of an already nice looking bike. 👌
Absolutely right James. I even remember shortly after buying the bike (which was already over 10 years old at that point) thinking that the bolts and fixings were surprisingly shiny and clean. Pretty much all the bolts on the 2 year old Honda are starting to go fuzzy. ALL the paint on the front of the Yamaha was also still intact.
@@AndyManCam 85k on my 2009 fz1. Not being a fan boy . Retired fixed income not complaining. Was thinking about a new litter bike. But I decided to take that money cross my fingers and take road trips instead. Hopefully my plan works out.
I totally get that James. Knowing what i now know, i would have rather done the same. Invest in an ECU reflash, custom seat and be done with it! I’d still have had 9000€ to spend on touring trips 🤦🏻♂️ Especially now times have gotten a little harder.
Usually tools are based on the engineering standards of the region who manufactured them. Using wrong tools for the wrong machinery can cause damage as well. FYI.
Of course. For cross head screws and the like, i know that is important (i have a JIS screwdriver for that reason). But an 8mm nut is an 8mm nut no matter where in the world it was made. But if that 8mm nut is made of very soft steel, then it’ll simply round off when push comes to shove. As was the case here.

@@AndyManCam I use to call it Chinesium. However there are some good quality tools coming out of China, when the right company with good QC is in charge. Cheesium is also less derogatory.
Yeah i definitely think that geography has less to do with quality nowadays. It’s more about budgets and quality control.
@@AndyManCam Like my old mechanic use to tell me when I was an apprentice, "You get what they pay for"
Haha! So very true! And they’re paying less and less!
A good example of how good tools really do pay for themselves.
I cant agree more. I’ve since replaced the spanners 😖
Always enjoy your AMC garage videos, thanks Andy. Disappointing that Honda can’t be bothered to put decent fixings on their bikes.
Cheers Ricky. Very disappointing mate. I think i may have to start replacing bolts one by one! Better in the garage than at the side of the road!
Andy, you should buy the sw-motech Aluminum front fender and make a video. They are finally available and I just placed an order because the OEM fender is made of plastic which I’m not a fan of.
It’s already sitting on my lounge floor Jimmy! Just waiting for a bout of Covid to finally leave me alone and then i can fit it. 👍🏻
@@AndyManCam Yay! That’s awesome! I’m waiting for mines to arrive here in California
Hopefully I’ll get the vid done before yours arrive then! See if i can make the install a bit quicker for you!
Another cracking video. Tj ask for the bolt tip too. Wera seems top notch. Might invest in a kit for under the seat. Any recommendations? Thanks again!
I always have the Toolcheck Plus kit under my seat on tour. amzn.to/3tkk6Y6 I’m also thinking of getting the small Joker 6003 set for the next trip.
Good job Andy! Looks great
Cheers very much HG.
Don’t you dare mark that lovely looking belly pan on a speed bump !
Haha! Hopefully not! Tbh it’s only a couple of mm‘s lower than the pipes. 👍🏻
Andy... love your delivery, very amusing, 'toffee bolts'....😂😂
Thanks Thomas. Cheers for watching!
If those replacement sump bolts are stainless, swap them out for zinc.
I hope that SW-Motech have already specced the best option. Their stuff normally lasts pretty well.
Nice one looks great hides that weird positioning of the oil filter too
I cant believe your were that calm when rounding off the bolts?
Vids!!?
(at least they have recently come out, cleaned up and re-greased! )
Nice Job Andy always interesting to your garage vid's 👍😊
Cheers Gaz!
Hi Andy. Did you notice if it made the the bike a bit noisier? Like it was echoing the engine or howling in the wind..for want of better description. Cheers.
I actually didn’t, no. But it should be said that my hearing isn’t the best.
Looks pretty... Not a boring piece of metal.
I totally agree. Subtle but still quality. 💪🏻
@@AndyManCam A man always needs more tools!!! ;) :D (and right tool for the job pays off in the long run... ;) )
Nice one mate very calm ✌️
This is one of the few occasions where i try to remain calm in the face of everything going to pot!! 😅
I know it well. My first car was an Austin Mini!! ZERO space to work on anything! 😂
Hi Andy great video as per usual 😀 will this bellypan fit with blackwidow headers cheers
Cheers Mike! I don't see why not, unless they have a totally different shape or are much thicker?
did it come scratched out of the bag? on the side
I thought so at first! But it was just polish or pres-wax. It buffed right off.
Hi Andy, how would you compare this bike to your previous fz1n?
Cheers Martin, i agree it should be at the very least better than nothing. Shame the paint is already gone though!
Link shows that fits only 2021 onwards. Had a customer service reply saying that only 2021 onwards and would not fit 2018 preface lift....
Shame that. 😔 I just wish I’d had the belly pan before the engine was bare chested!
Hello,
I see that you removed the crash bars you had mounted on that bike.
@@AndyManCam if only they could make them from harder toffee, you would expect more from a premium brand, I think many of the leading manufacturers are slipping on quality now, my Bmw is suffering from corrosion, engine paint swing arm and wheels, it is a 14 plate but the price I paid you wouldn’t expect it , not had toffee nuts as of yet, sounds wrong that 😄
Great job Andy! Live your vids👍
Many thanks!! Cheers for watching!
Very tasteful. Did enjoy the drama . I can relate.
Cheers James. I think we all can! Happens to the best of us!
A rattle gun usually shifts those soft bolts.
Same here. If they put a tiny fender on, the least they could do is back it up with a radiator guard 🤦🏻♂️
I’ve got a set of single hex sockets, but they‘re 1/2“ drive and only go down to 13mm 🤦🏻♂️ Always my go to wherever possible though.
Looks great. Yeah, Honda need to get the act together. Every Honda I have owned as has butter bolts.
You’d think they’d do something about it. But then again, people keep buying the bikes, so why would they bother changing anything.
@@AndyManCam that's it and to be honest, the engines seem to go for ever with a basic oil change eveey so often
Also true. I’ll be doing the next service on mine and i think the valve check can probably wait for another 100,000 miles or so! 🤣
Looks good. SW motech is good stuff. 😎👍🍻
Cheers Garth. I totally agree. Good gear!
So you have the one with the aluminium frame like mine, or the steel tubular frame?
@@AndyManCam my is older than your (1st gen steel tubular frame ).yours is 2nd gen.....
I thought so. I’m not sure in that case if you even need to worry about it. Completely different engine and therefore completely different rotor!
I would say get 6 point spanners, not 12 for those ;-)
Belly pan fits the styling of the bike. How long before you wrap it?
I totally agree. I’ve got 6 point deep drive sockets but they only went down to 13mm 🤦🏻♂️ I reckon I’ll leave the wrapping on this but until it’s so scratched that i can’t bear to look at it anymore! Though with a brushed finish, that takes longer than with gloss plastic!!
@@AndyManCam The brushed finish is very tasty 🙂
Like matt, only less pretentious and more functional! 😂
Nice one Andy , really good quality stuff sw motech 👌 ya can't beat a good spanner 👍your luck the Honda bolts didn't snap, that would be poo 😉 keep it up 🤩
Cheers Andy. Top flight spanners FTW! Yeah a sheared bolt would have been exponentially worse!
Does this belly pan cover up the oil drain plug?
I can’t remember 100%, but i think so, yes.
How do you keep the headers that clean , mine look like they cane straight out of a ww2 relic 😂 great content 👌🏽
Haha! I guess that kind of fits with the styling of the bike! 😂 I use Autosol and a bit of elbow grease 💪🏻
@@AndyManCam cheers man , I'll give them a wipe 👊🏽
Happy wiping!!
Looks much better
Thanks! I totally agree!
Beautiful maintained bike you have with all those extras , I must ask what bike would you consider next I really think you would never buy another Honda .
Thanks Paul! You’re absolutely right there! That’s why the Honda has turned into a KTM! 😎
A great add on for the CB, Andy
It's a great pity but the majority of bike manufacturers now think that a scrap of plastic slung above the front wheel can be called a 'mudguard'.
Looks good, but are those scratches on the side at 58secs and 1:38?
How will Aluminium hold up to stone chips on a brushed finish?
I thought the same at first. Turns out it was just polish remnants or pres-wax. It all rubbed off nice and easy. I think brushed finish will hide scratches and stone chips way better than a gloss finish, for example. Plus i accept that because i use the bike a lot, it’s never going to keep a showroom condition.
@@AndyManCam do like the little upgrades on the bike thus far.
Cheers EH. Couple more yet to come 😉
Oil filter access?
At 09:28 you can see it poking out. No problems there. 👍🏻
Try 6 point sockets rather than 12 also.
Very good looking! Question, does It works fine at high speed (120 and plus mhp)?
Hey! Does it fit the 2018 model the same?
I can’t be certain, but i think so. Mine is a 2020 and I’m pretty sure they didn’t change anything until 2021. although this fits the newer models too.
@@AndyManCam that’s great! Appreciate it Andy :)
Thanks for the video, I saw a guy once on his cb and he had ordered the belly from Japan and It looked much nicer than this one ( no offence ) however he did mention it was custom job and it looked almost like a race bike fairing where as this one looks ok still but not really stylish.
I like the ‚less is more‘ style of this one. Though sure a custom job will almost always look cool!
Does this fit my honda cb1000r+ 2019. Do you know anything about it?
Mine is a 2019 that was registered in 2020, so I’d say that the chances are good 👍🏻
thank you for taking the time to reply 🙏
I had a 2018 model and SW Motech website said this part will not fit. What your Cb model year ?
That’s just because they hadn’t tested it on the earlier model. Mine is a 2019 and fits perfect 👍🏻
@@AndyManCam this look a lot more aesthetic than the Puig which is so edgy for my taste. Thank you for the video and i will order mine now
I totally agree Doan. The Puig completely missed the style of the bike. 🤟🏼
@@AndyManCam anyway, if I where to put them back in, I will look for other screws and looking to replace the other ones on the pan oil
Definitely. I think at some point I’ll have the oilpan repainted or anodized and I’ll replace all the bolts at the same time.
What! did you say a Wera Joker wrench is only 8.50 euro? In Canada a single wrench is like $35 - $40 a piece... a 4 piece set is $100. lol ( I did crack into my kids college fund to get the Wera Tool-Check Plus because it fits perfectly under the pilion seat of my KTM Duke... I'll pay it back later 😂 )
Wow, thats lumpy. Yeah between 8,50€ and 13€ depending on the size. 50€ for the 4 piece set 100€ for the 11 piece set. Benefits of being in the country of origin i suppose! I’m sure the kids will understand.
Is it possible to drain oil without taking it off?
Yes it is. It's completely open underneath, just protects the front and side edges.
Those downpipes are über clean! Have you tried King Dick tools? I jest not! Got to be honest, I'm not a fan of the look of that belly pan, but I still wear flared trousers, 1970's red chequed Lumber Jackets and if I had hair it would be a mullet! 😬
Haha! Each to their own eh! It’s always a problem with the pipes. Once I’ve made a clean patch i have to make the rest match!!
Nice one Andy looks good I have a few Wera tools top quality I say buddy
Indeed, Wera FTW!!!!! :D
With sockets and spanners try and stay away from multi sided. 5 sided are best.
Yep, more sides = less contact! Though 5 sides might be awkward on 6 sided nuts and bolts! 😜
@@AndyManCam very true. Forgot about those pesky 6 siders haha

Same here. My dad was an army mechanic for 25 years, but sadly also a tight arse! So I’ve always bodged through with whatever i could get my hands on! But no more!!
How come you removed the old crash bars and installed this new ones ?
Never a good feeling when you round off your bolt or nut 😬 it turns a 15 min job into a 24 hour job 😑
Absolutely. Sometimes longer!! Especially annoying when you’re trying to fit it just 2 days before a weekend trip!! 😂
VERY NICE !!
Many thanks. I agree!!
Make sure removing original bolts n nuts and using Sw's there is a chance of huge vibration...and CS ....very below expectation
Or I was the unlucky one😮
Thankfully i didn’t find any extra vibration from installing these parts.

AMC, erm, what's wrong with standing proud 😂🤣
You’re right. Nothing wrong at all! 🫡
How about black ⚫️
Black is also available. I had always planned to get the other factory panels black anodized. But as i haven’t had the time and now no longer have the money, i decided to go with silver so that everything matches.
Ok 👌👍 Andy tschuss
Danke dir! 🤟🏼
@@AndyManCam I think most people are feeling this economic nightmare were all living in. Head up move forward my father used to say. Soldier on.
Agreed mate. Forwards is the only way.
Well at Andy I have bought a bike Yamaha Fj1300 , it’s blue 2019 model with electric suspension only done 10,000 in new condition 👍🏍
Buy some good quality "face drive" six-point sockets/ring spanners.
I think better quality anything would do the trick! Although my ‚cheap‘ tools worked fine on all the other bikes I’ve had. Hmm… 🤔
Now that is nice 👍🏻
Cheers very much mate. I agree!!
