    1) I've seen under slung bar end mirrors quite often, however when I tried this setup out, all I could see were my arms instead of the following traffic.........
    2) Honda does sell.round metal inserts for the front mud guard.
    61103-MGS-D30
    3) I.miss the old intro music.....😭
    Safe rides 👍🏍🙏

      Don't worry Andree, the old music is certainly not dead! Just a change of theme for the series! 😚 I'll look into the spacers, although I'm still hoping for a far better mudguard option soon.

    Great video again..
    The first thing I fitted to my cb1000r was the evotech radiator guard. And I have never looked at it since..
    Over the past winter I also remo Ed the Big round reflectors, although I haven't added new ones, but I live in the UK and we like to live on the edge., :-)
    I like to morrors, although would probably fit above the bars and not Cafe racer like below.. But that is the joy of customisation, individuality..
    Looking forward to seeing your other ideas in place and I might 'borrow' some of them!!

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 года назад +1

      Cheers Stuart. That is the beauty of customising isn't it! I love it! I think the authorities aren't too bothered about the reflectors over there. Here it would be an immediate TÜV failure! 🤦🏻‍♂️ But at least the rules are flexible enough that I can make them look better!

    Excellent little upgrades there Andy. It frustrates me that some manufacturers do such a great job designing a bike then throw on what appear random unthought out bits or don't think about longevity of more susceptible parts.

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 года назад

      Cheers HRM. It baffles me too mate. Almost like they’re expecting those parts to end up in the bin. Why don’t they give a few options for each? We get the bits we want and they save the wastage of all that plastic that was never going to get any real use! It’s all about the profit, sadly.

    Very underrated bike. Honda at it's best, no unnecessary faff or electronics or Gordon Ramsey size menus to work through.

    Reposition your mic Andy, you keep crackling it against your jacket. I did more or less the same mods to my 2011 CB1000R (tricolour), along with the compulsory tail tidy, and colour matched seat under tray and rear mudguard (since it came with neither). A nice short end can not only reduced weight significantly but also made it look sweeet 😁

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 года назад

      Yeah I know, that was a really annoying shame that the sound was a bit jiggered. Lessons learned. Tail tidy is next up for me. Hoping to create a bit of a custom affair with a mix of the stock piece and some extra bits from Kellermann.

      @@AndyManCam I really like the change in number plate hanger - yours is so much nicer than the 2 foot of monstrous plastic they hung off the arse of mine. Looking forward to seeing it, and intrigued at the idea of a tank wrap.

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 года назад

      I agree. Having the plate away from the tail really makes it look very cool. I'm planning to improve it further though, by reducing the size of the rear hanger, and also moving the indicators down to the number plate frame as well. Like the Indian FTR, but smaller!

    From experience I can tell you that draught excluder type tape you've put on the radiator guard will hold a significant amount of water after washing. Obviously won't rust the radiator but does flake the paintwork unless you squeeze the areas after washing and then run the motor to dry it out. Okish in the summer but a pain in the winter.
    Hope the original intro music will return for the bike rides. 👍

Seems Honda's fit and finish is NOT what it used to be. Let's just say that there is more metal looking out in to the world on that bike than there really ought to be.

      @@AndyManCam I bought a new KTM 1190 Adv about five years ago and fitted a rad guard in an attempt to stop stones and the like damaging same, rode it through two winter's up in Scotland and the radiator was toast. Crud build up between guard and radiator, I thought I was cleaning it enough, obviously not.
      If your riding on the road you don't really need the guard, it just makes cleaning the radiator more time consuming. There again I do think KTM parts, not all but a fair amount are made out of cheese!

I removed the weights to fit SW Motech guards, after watching your vid a while back. When fitting the guards I find the bit that spreads in order to grip the inside of the handle bars didn’t grip all too good, and was very loose. So I removed them after a while and went back to the weights. I now want to put mirrors on, but I’d be extremely annoyed if the mirrors are loose. Do you have advice on how I can sure that they will grip and not become loose? Thanks

    Some 2nd hand knowledge, I remember learnin,g in a video of guys that usually build race bikes, that many of the radiator guards significantly reduce their performance. That being said protecting the radiator is worthwhile, and apparently there is one maker for radiator guards that have a mesh thin enough to not impact the cooling performance significantly.
    You may or may not checkout the video I mentioned here (mind you, its in German) ruclips.net/video/LlYRJLgN_h8/видео.html

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  3 года назад +1

      I think custom built race bikes are in a different league of performance and dancing at the bleeding edge! I'm sure that a tiny bit of airflow restriction would affect those guys. For us mere mortals, I believe that Honda have just smashed whatever radiator they had on the shelf that was almost the right size, and as such the performance isn't necessarily being pushed to the limit. I honestly don't think this radiator guard is going to make any noticeable difference. Not least because Honda sell the Plus model of the bike with a stainless steel radiator guard. I don't think they would do that if it was going to lead to overheating bikes.
