We took this video to show you how to do an oil change on a Hyundai Sonata with the 3.3 V6 ENGINE. We demonstrated on a 2006 Model but it will be the same for this generation from 2006 to 2010 with the 3.3 v6 engine.
If you want to make sure that your oil is changed correctly then this video will be for you. More and more stories have been shared that people take their car for an oil change to a shop and they either do not replace the oil filter or do not even change the oil and charge you for it.
You will need between 5.5 and 5.8 quarts for oil.
NEVER exceed the Maximum mark because you will damage the catalytic converters.
    This procedure should work for:
2006 Hyundai Sonata 3.3 v6 Oil Change Change oil Filter
2007 Hyundai Sonata 3.3 v6 Oil Change Change oil Filter
2008 Hyundai Sonata 3.3 v6 Oil Change Change oil Filter
2009 Hyundai Sonata 3.3 v6 Oil Change Change oil Filter
2010 Hyundai Sonata 3.3 v6 Oil Change Change oil Filter

Very smooth and well-explained. The use of the cut plastic bottle to catch the old oil filter is very smart. Thank you so much.

Great Video was very helpful. Please make more videos of common routine maintenance with the 2006 Hyundai Sonata 3.3 L V6 LX! Maybe Transmission Fluid change next or how to clean VVT Solenoid! Keep up the great content I will subscribe now since picking up a Sonata 😊

Does the large o ring go in the groove or against the shoulder on the cap? Mine was in the groove but leaks like crazy!

Thanks for the video.Did find it very helpful but I would suggest 4 things.1) wear nitrile gloves, dirty oil is really nasty stuff.2)Remove filter cap, dipstick and oil filler cap first before removing sump plug.3) use a crush washer when putting sump plug back on or it's going to leak.4) Clean all the components with a cloth to remove as much old oil as possible before reinstalling components to reduce amount of contaminants in the oil. Engine purrs like kitten now.Cheers!

I am a lube and tire tech at a hyundai dealership and the wrench size for the oil drain bolt is a 17 mm not a 16

Excellent video. Just curious if you know how to access the oil control valves for the VVT?
