I really appreciate how well you explained each step. I had watched another video where the guy speeded up his video so I felt bewildered and overwhelmed. Now I’m up for doing the job. Thanks. The only improvement I can suggest is better lighting and maybe a better camera. 👍🏼
Thanks so much for the info. I've been waiting for someone to have a video! The Dealer said of New Bern of N.C. said for a spark plugs to be changed will cost somewhat of $300. I say ok, and turn around and said, hell no! not my $300. plus?! So my car is past due, I wished they were done at 100,000 miles, but still runs good even at 121,700 miles. So now my wish is, they will get done very soon! Plus, don't believe the dealership at parts counter, You can't find trans fluid no other place than only the dealership! Found it at Wal-Mart by: Valvoline, Max Life ATF Also it's "Full Synthetic" It works Great! Have 3,000 miles with new fluid with no problems! I try to keep it changed every 50,000 to 55,000 miles. Just make sure it has the right specifications! My car is 2007 Hyundai Sonata v6 automatic 5 speed. I will say, the alternator is in a bad location! Sometimes valve cover likes leaks and then later on shorts out the alternator. Even replaced the gasket, 4-6 mo. later it wants to leak a little bit. Would be nice to have a special cover for the alternator. Any comments? ask me on, at Kik as: DoingSomethingFun
Just now saw your video. I replaced the valve cover gasket due to leaking as well; and I too was concerned with it drenching the alternator. Wouldn't ya know, several months later it leaked again. So the next time I had my mechanic friend replace it, and he used sealant at the front left joint. I'll be damned if it didn't leak AGAIN! Crappy Hyundai. So this time we opted to just put sealant on the outside. Did the trick, but the front cover is ALSO leaking.... LOTS! I may try to put sealant on the outside of it too since it works if there is no pressure forcing the oil past the gasket. Otherwise, I'd have to take half the engine apart!
thanks for putting out this video it is very helpful. Just wondering if you can tell me the size of the bottom bolts of the throttle body. the top 3 are the same size but the bottom is a different size, thanks
Have you have a air leak ? I believe my manifold is leaking I'm having a code for lean I have replaced the gasket I didn't have a code before I changed my spark plugs. Not sure why it's leaking I tourque to spec in a cross pattern
The last three spark plugs at the back is a sob to remove. I was able to do the the front without any issue but suck at removing the intake housing. I removed all the screws but it’s not budging.
At first I was critical of the lighting in your video but I was still able to follow your directions and get the job done. I really appreciate you posting this video. All done, no more leaks and a smooth idle with the new plugs. Thanks!
ThAts how i felt, but i just watched and listened, and honestly i give it a 7/10 points taken away for lighting, and the fact you can tell this is the first time he did it on this car, some people like that fact, im indifferent, but it was a good video
Thanks for the well explained video - straight to the point! Plan on doing this myself sometime this week. Good timing it seems as you only uploaded this video a few weeks ago.
Seems like a ton of work just to change spark plugs. More specifically, 3 spark plugs. I don't know if you're familiar with changing the oil pressure switch/sensor for these cars, which seem to be a problem (just out of warranty if it is even covered by the warranty) for the V6s for Hyundai/Kia, but from other videos it seems it's basically everything you did plus also removing the lower plenum to get to the "valley" by the coolant pipe where the switch is. So definitely, if i change out the switch, i'm also going to change out the plugs as well...
Thank you SO MUCH for this video. Saved My Life. I was very worried about changing my plugs, but they needed it. I'm old school and don't pay anyone for a tune up. Really considered just forking over the cash on this one until I found your video. Thanks again.
Great video thanks needed to find a couple bolts. Quick tip, only use anti seize on the 2.4, the iridium plugs have an anti corrosion and seize coating built into them
Dude, thanks for the video. I was able to prepare ahead of time and get it done correctly in about 2.5 hours. excellent video, and your graciousness is appreciated. You seem genuine and eager to help.
Really no need to disconnect the battery. Need to screw around with radio security codes and in some cars like the honda fit, you can loose transmission software.....
Squirt a little Liquid Wrench or similar if you have corrosion between the plug and the head while taking it out. Never use anti-seize that isn't made explicitly for spark plugs as it must be conductive and use it sparingly.
I appreciate your video. It helped me dig even deeper into the engine: I'm replacing the rear cylinder (valve) cover gasket (OEM p/n's: 22453-3C110 & 22453-3C120) in addition to the spark plugs. Bleh. For folks working on a 2006 Azera's Lambda MFi 3.8L v6, the plenum gasket (a.k.a., "surge tank gasket") is a different part than shown in this video. OEM p/n: 29215-3C301; BECK ARNLEY p/n: 037-4865).
Thanks a lot for the video. I was able to follow your steps and get all 6 plugs changed. I was able to get it done without removing any of the hoses other than the intake.
Great video, this also covered a 2007 Azera. I had the "w" bracket passenger side and a 12mm bolt under the throttle body. I saved $400!. Great Stuff! I was also told there is a method to torquing the plenum down.
So glad you uploaded this video! I've been planning on doing this soon and until now there hasn't been a good how-to video on the spark plugs for our cars. Thanks!
I appreciate your video its very helpful! Would any one have any tips how to remove the screws/bolts in the throttle body? mine seem to just turn in place and not come out, i'm stuck there....
Amazing!! I cannot wait to fix my own problems with my vehicle, it was simple to follow as you explained in terms that even an amateur as myself can understand! :) Plus, I could fix my gaskets if needed! Subscribe & Favorite'd!
I got a check engine light after I did mine. It was immediately when I turned the car on.. car runs way better and didn't have it before. I had somone clear the code And it was gone for a good while but came back. Everything is all hooked up idk what caused this ..
Within the Chilton manual it says to drain coolant system and relieve the fuel system pressure, did you do or can it be skipped? Great video, thanks for your help.
Huh, no, I didn't have to do any of those things. I'm not even sure why you'd do that, I didn't have to open any coolant passages or move the fuel rail.
Hey Buddy, Thank You! I have to say that the 4th bolt on the Mass Flow is really hard to see! I really appreciate this video and YES this is definitely a flaw in the design of my Santa Fe 2010 B6 3.5 litres I did not change the gasket though but I am sure it will ok
Good vid, but, you are using way way too much antiseise... You should always use it when you have high heat metal to metal. Also, just a light line up the threads is all you need, it goes a very long way. Good vid though
You show replacing the 3 - double oval gaskets on the plenum. Is there another gasket theat goes between the plenum and motor? If so, what is the prep procedure?
Thank you so much. Your video provides excellent step by step instructions. I have no problems take things off the car, it's the re-assembly that I was worried about. Saves me a whole lot of $$. Thanks!
I wouldn't mind doing this on my 2009 Sonata V6 limited(250 HP with 24-30 MPG) that has 230,000 miles for the past 11 years. Watching this on 05/20/2020 since the number three is misfiring on my car today. Have you driven a car over 230k miles with same spark plugs? I've been driving GMs for my life until I bought this nice car and No complaints here. I only have to change the fuel pump a couple of month ago and that's all I have done for 11 years other than general PMs. Never been in the shop yet. I'd love to support and drive American cars if they can make cars this good.
Please do more videos. You are amazing!
I really appreciate how well you explained each step. I had watched another video where the guy speeded up his video so I felt bewildered and overwhelmed. Now I’m up for doing the job. Thanks. The only improvement I can suggest is better lighting and maybe a better camera. 👍🏼
Thanks very much. Great presentation, easy to understand and quick, no nonsense.
Working on this car is a pain in the ass, lmao
Thanks for this. Saved me a ton of headache with my gfs car!
Great video, good description, I just wish you had an overhead light.
I squirt a little liquid wrench down in the spark plug holes and wait about 20 minutes before starting this job and get NO squeaking coming out.
NICE. Very thorough and straight forward.
I'll be picking up anti seize.
Thank you for your tutorial. Gonna save me 300 bucks.....
Thanks so much for the info. I've been waiting for someone to have a video!

very helpful. very detailed. Good job.
thanks for putting out this video it is very helpful. Just wondering if you can tell me the size of the bottom bolts of the throttle body. the top 3 are the same size but the bottom is a different size, thanks
Good video. Should have done it in the DAYLIGHT.
Very good video! Thank you!! 🤘

were u able to put all the screws and pieces back in place?
I'm having the same issue. Followed all instructions and it still won't move. Did you find a solution?
Had this video been well lit, it'd be worth a million bucks.
Turn up your brightness!
At first I was critical of the lighting in your video but I was still able to follow your directions and get the job done. I really appreciate you posting this video. All done, no more leaks and a smooth idle with the new plugs. Thanks!

Man you should try changing spark plugs off a 1.8 litre Nissan Tiida engine. This is way easier than that.
I replaced the plugs on my 08' Sonata TWICE! I figured out how to do it on my own, before this video was made. Working on this vehicle is a bitch!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video. Saved My Life. I was very worried about changing my plugs, but they needed it. I'm old school and don't pay anyone for a tune up. Really considered just forking over the cash on this one until I found your video. Thanks again.

what is the torque specs for the spark plugs ??

excellent video, and your graciousness is appreciated. You seem genuine and eager to help.
I did mine now it says it has vacuum leak and I can't find it
I just did my 2007 sonata 2.4. Easy job, except those stupid coil pack connectors.
Really no need to disconnect the battery. Need to screw around with radio security codes and in some cars like the honda fit, you can loose transmission software.....
0:30 replace the intake ????? gasket?

What is the gap distance for the plug?!!
Does anybody do this when it's not midnight with absolutely no light ? Can't see shit he's doing so why film ?
Well done and thanks, I'm in the process of changing the plugs in my 09 Santa Fe, I wasn't sure I could pull it off until I saw your video. Cheers.
Nice effort but please use MORE LIGHT.
Good tutorial but you should be more descriptive and tell us the key how to put out and in the cover of intake..
Great video, this also covered a 2007 Azera. I had the "w" bracket passenger side and a 12mm bolt under the throttle body. I saved $400!. Great Stuff! I was also told there is a method to torquing the plenum down.

Well how did u get the cover off what do I need to get the 2 bottom screws off
I appreciate your video its very helpful! Would any one have any tips how to remove the screws/bolts in the throttle body? mine seem to just turn in place and not come out, i'm stuck there....
This video was very helpful. Thank you so much!
Very helpful, thank you for the video.
Bless your heart man you are appreciated!!!

Tune up on a 2008 Kia Sportage 6 cylinder four-wheel drive 7
I got a check engine light after I did mine. It was immediately when I turned the car on.. car runs way better and didn't have it before. I had somone clear the code

I just hate how they made a simple tune up so dam complicated lol. Used to, changing spark plugs and wires were soooooo easy
Thanks much for taking the time to help me out and my fellow RUclipsrs at getting this job done. I appreciate it! Clap, clap, clap!
Great video. Thanks a bunch!
what would be the proper name for those gaskets? i ask because i can't find them online with "engine gaskets"
Nice video. What about dielectric grease on the boots/plug cap?
I didn't bother, but probably not a bad idea. It's cheap enough.
What is the name of the gaskets we will need?
Intake Plenum Gasket
Hey Buddy, Thank You!
I have to say that the 4th bolt on the Mass Flow is really hard to see!
I really appreciate this video and YES this is definitely a flaw in the design of my Santa Fe 2010 B6 3.5 litres

Do you have a video on getting a 2006 sonatas hood open when my hood latch release is broken
What was the torture spec on spark plugs
That's very hard
I hate engineers. This is way too much crap to remove just to replace plugs. Parts $10, Labor $190. Ludicrous.
You show replacing the 3 - double oval gaskets on the plenum. Is there another gasket theat goes between the plenum and motor? If so, what is the prep procedure?
Great video
Is this the same engine for V6 santa fe 3.3?
Very helpful, just like 3G V6 Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Thank you
How many miles last the 2009 azera 3.3 plugs?
Couldn't you simply remove the cowl to gain extra room to get to the rear spark plugs?
Then you don't have to remove the manifold and replace gaskets.
Details?
Well explained just the darkness.
Why can't you give us the torque specs for spark plugs? 😫
18 to 21 ft-lbs
the Haines book is saying there is 4 bolts in the back.
Thanks for making the video. It made my job easier.
Excellent job! Thanks for posting this!!
Thank you so much. Your video provides excellent step by step instructions. I have no problems take things off the car, it's the re-assembly that I was worried about. Saves me a whole lot of $$. Thanks!
Great job explaining each step
Strong video
Thanks 🙏🏻
What's the torque specs? Anyone?
Get the haynes book
thanks so much video helped me out alot, made everything so much easier to remove. Also, saved me a couple hundred dollars.
Thank u!!!
whats the firing order for this car?
Great video. Just think it will be a bit beyond my capabilities though.
Yeeehaaa, nothing like taking half the engine apart to get to some stinking spark plugs!! That's why ya buy AMERICAN CARS !!!
Your stupid
he didnt take half the engine apart dumbass. clearly you dont dont jack shit about fixing cars.
obviously you never worked on a dodge, ford f 250, or any chevy car or truck. stupid fuck!
V8 4th gen F-body would like a word with you. Or batteries in wheel-well, needing papa government to save them...
I wouldn't mind doing this on my 2009 Sonata V6 limited(250 HP with 24-30 MPG) that has 230,000 miles for the past 11 years.
