I still remember the day my oldest bro came home with a 360. We were playstation kids growing up but the 360 came out before the ps3 so my brother got that and when he finally let me play it I was absolutely hooked. I remember the first couple of game I played were halo 3, cod 4, ncaa07, and madden 07. Man those were great times, I miss that.

My dad had the 360 and it nearly died till he popped out the disk tray and then kinda just blew something into it (cold air ) and then put it back and boom that thing is still alive as well

I remember my friend opened up his broken 360 and put a small roll of pennies inside, he it back together and then it worked for quite a while til another problem came about. We fixed that one with the towel trick to purposefully overheat the system. What a weird time.
Truly a thrilling tale! I remember once I kicked a hole in a public urinal to save my uncle, Jack, from a horse while drinking Flav-R-Aid instead of Kool-Aid, a direct causation of me having to utilize my undergarments for tissue back during that time when that guy was doing those things! Man, what a day!!!!

Lmao remember when I lost my 360 battery back and was jaw-dropped when my dad taped in two batteries with aluminum tape into the back of the controller
That happened to me when I figured out that you didn't even need a battery pack in the first place just keep the cord plugged in and you can have a gaping hole in the back.

I think meant to say, quality-wise they just weren't on par. GoldenEye 64 may have been amazing, but it certainly had huge drawbacks that going back to nowadays, is painful.
Halo introduced intuitive aiming for console games, with bullet magnetism and slowdown. As well as being designed around the console, instead of being a lackluster port of a PC game, an original, quality FPS was unheard of at the time.
Stuff like Medal of Honor PS1 may have been great at the time, you can't deny it made many sacrifices when compared to the FPS on PC. So much so, that the most beloved and groundbreaking MoH, Alied Assault was only on PC... There were plenty of shooters on console and many were good, but when you compare the numbers on PC to console, there's just no competition.
Halo paved the way for developers to take shooters on consoles seriously.

I'm a bit sad the PlayStation comparison didn't get a similar treatment, instead it was 1/3 of the length with much less in depth analysis and information.
I will give the benefit of the doubt as I'm sure to an extent Sony is much less open about these kinds of things but as someone who appreciates all video game media, it would've been more interesting to me to see the same levels of detail in each video.

The 360 E is actually my favorite of that generation, I’ve found it to be the quietest and coolest running that I’ve owned (had the original and S). I’ve also never needed that many ports on my XBOX although I’m sure there are SOME who used them all.
Not only that, but its buttons were physical instead of capacitive, and it had the same design style as the One.
I remember my 360 got a red ring we traded it in a GameStop for another one and the new one had the red ring of death as well lol

As powerful as the One X, the next Xbox need to focus on software. You can have the most powerful hardware, but it won’t sell if there is almost no exclusive software to play on it.
As long as those exclusives are available on PC too, then I'm fine cause I don't want to buy another gaming device when I can play on my PC and Surface Pro Tablet.
15 studios now..rumored a couple more joining. Hellblade 2, Obsidian and InExile RPGs incoming. Halo Infinite. Tons of games coming. To bad E3 was cancelled and others cancelled. I am not worried like I was this gen about games.
We saw this during the 6th generation, with the PS2 outselling the Xbox and GameCube by miles despite having the weakest hardware. Things like backward compatibility are also pretty important factors, as seen with the DS playing GBA games and 3DS playing DS games.

I started my console life with the wii and I still play smash and mk wii on it today (I did 2 hours ago lol) my brother and I then moved to the 360 E and 3 years after we moved to the one S and LOVE IT.
I have a gaming pc and he does as well but something about playing skate 3 on the E and also the one and playing forza with no stutter or anything for hours is just so good... playing pubg was great and I mean the controllers are also the best there will ever be. XBOX FOREVER💚

Listen, my dad kinda had an Xbox original in December of 2001 and went through everything and that beast is still alive with its controllers so I flew through most of it also he told me a lot about it before so I know quite a bit and most is already here.
I feel old boomer reading this, as I had first Xbox as kid and now kids talk about their dad's having them lol.
Several of my friends and I own an Xbox and Playstation, but we choose to play together on the Xbox. I think that says a lot. I love my Playstation for PSVR and exclusive titles like Spider-man and God of War, but the Xbox UI and controllers are so good comparatively.
The only thing I think Xbox has that isn't user friendly is it's UI. Absolutely convoluted.

I was with PlayStation from 1996-2004. I ended up losing my PS2 memory card and knew Xbox had an internal hard drive also halo 2 was coming out. I ask my dad for an Xbox for my birthday and the rest is history. I’ve been with Xbox since 2004. Looking forward to buying the Xbox Scarlet day one again like I did for the Xbox one.
I know I am late to the series but I have followed the console for years. I finally got my little Series S 2 weeks ago and love it. I just wish I wasn’t so busy and had more time to find out what it’s really capable of even though it costs less.

I think what will bring Xbox in the lead is to bring back Indie games! That was one of the best and most memorable things about the Xbox 360 because they were both affordable and easy to download (Me having slow internet where I live).

micheal kelly It’s not just the games. The PS4 was absolutely consistent. I still have the 1st gen PS4 to this day and I barely have issues. I went through 3 Xbox Ones and they all had so many issues. Plus the controllers are cheap as fuck.
