Absolutely. Gamers often complain about the cost of retro software and hardware but neglect the fact that there is _always_ a very good library of games that people are looking to unload at any given moment. Right now, that's Wii U and Xbox One games.
Another plus to the One S & One X is that they do play back physical 4K Blu-Ray discs, so can be an inexpensive way to get a 4K Blu-Ray player as well.

While we are talking about different models, I feel everyone forgets about the xbox one elite model that had a hybrid SSD and it did make a difference in load times.
You can upgrade the hard drive in any Xbox one... I replaced the 1tb HDD in my Xbox One X with a 1tb sata SSD. I used a basic cloning program on a windows 10 PC to copy the old drive to the new one a sector at a time. That was the only option available at the time (I did that back in early 2021) Now days you can download the firmware from Microsoft, install it on a USB drive, and it'll walk you through installing the Xbox OS when you fire up the Xbox with its new blank drive for the first time. That method allows up to a 2tb drive to be installed and recognized, so you could install a 2tb in a Xbox one that came originally with a 500gb or 1tb drive. It's not as straightforward as replacing a hard drive on a PS4 or PS3 where they just slide out, you'll have to actually disassemble the Xbox to get to the hard drive (also a great time to replace the thermal paste while you're in there) Adding an SSD to my One X did make it boot up a little bit quicker, and it's snappier while flipping through menus. It doesn't load games quite as quick as my Series X, but it does load into most games quicker then it did with a HDD.
I installed a SSD to my OG XB1 and the load time were a bit faster. The main advantage is the UI scrolled faster while searching for games. Buttery smooth.
@patrickmurphy9470 idk about every game but I definitely noticed the difference in destiny 2 at the time as my friends would load in about 30 seconds or so slower. I also verified it wasn't connection based as they were at my house and it did the same thing.
I know I mentioned this earlier, but Kelsey was MIA at the time. I visited your store when I went on vacation in January this year. Great visit. Got a toolkit so I could open up the inside of my old NES and clean it.
One of the most forgotten things that the Xbox One did so well was the "Snap Feature" and being able to play games like Madden while actually watching an NFL game in the small window.
I remember being a wee lad and trying to explain to my dad that the Xbox 360 was actually the Xbox 2, not to be confused with the PS3 - and his eyes just glazed over while I was talking, lol If I didn't know any better I'd say Microsoft is coming up with names for their console based on a strict "let's confuse tf out of parents wanting to buy their kid an xbox for Christmas" policy
@@runi5413 Lol. I was at gamestop and this lady I'd say maybe 50-60's like 3 weeks ago came in to return a game for the xbox series x, because it's not compatible with the xbox one x. Gamestop employees forever having to ask if they the series X system to parents...etc and explaining it. I almost accidently bought a series x title as well when I only had the xbox one x. Until the cashier told me. I was like oops. Atm I think that was the main selling point of picking up a series X. I've also accidently bought a (xbox one version of a game and not the series x version of a game - stupid white banner) Xbox should'ves just labeled everything Xbox one /w the raised plastic letters up until the series x. I have a copy of w2k23... for the xbox one (white banner) yet I have a copy of w2k22 for the series x (white banner)
There's an arcade hatchet / axe throwing game, and it uses a cannibalized Kinect sensor. If you look inside the game, you will literally see the exact camera layout of the V2 connect
The OG Xbox was the only Microsoft gaming console I played on until a year before the pandemic when I finally picked up a secondhand Xbox One X and immediately played through TitanFall 2 and, of course, all of the Halo games that I missed. Loved TitanFall 2 and I still play on the console as I've yet to pick up a Series One because I'm waiting on a white version of the console to match all of my other consoles (PS2, PS3, PS5, Switch, GameCube) and various handhelds. Still waiting to get my hands on either the pure white 2nd Anniversary Limited Edition (my grail) or Panzer Dragoon Orta OG Xbox.
I still have my VCR Xbox One. I bought it in 2015. I haven't truly been bothered to upgrade since most of the newer games simultaneously come out on PC now. I do remember the onboard flash memory (for the console firmware) would also be a huge point of failure for them. It wouldn't brick the console, you could revert to the factory firmware. However it couldn't upgrade if you connected it to the internet. Not such an issue with the consumer units (though I have seen a couple consumer units with the issue). It was a bigger issue on devkits which used the same hardware but had much more frequent software updates. When I worked at a game studio I once had a stack of dead Xbox One devkits that was 12 high with another 2 dead retail units.
I have the white Xbox One that came bundled with Sunset Overdrive and I loved it. The only issue I had was the power supply started making a loud buzzing noise that only got worse over time, so I had to buy an aftermarket power adapter to replace it. Otherwise, it was a solid console that doesn't deserve a lot of the negativity it receives.
Love these videos, I had a Xbox One with about 55 games, but my girlfriend sold the collection I had...including a Xbox 360 with about 80 games, PS3 with 60 games, PS2 with 80 games and a PS4 with about 30 games... The Xbox One has some incredible games for sure, and thank you for highlighting a bunch in this video. I own most of these and can say I enjoyed all of them, whether it has only been for a little bit and need to go back to or have completed them. Cannot go wrong with the games showcased in this video. You and Kelsey make such a great team, a massive treasure trove of knowledge between the both of you. Thank you both for all you do. Wish you all nothing but the absolute best in all aspects of your life, and that you are both well. Have a wonderful day.
Use rechargeable AA batteries! Get some low self-discharge NiMH batteries, e.g. eneloop (the standard white ones). The "low self-discharge" part is important. They almost never leak, they hold their charge well while not in use, and can be charged and discharged thousands of times before degrading. They don't hold as much of a charge as lithium batteries of the same mass, but two AAs are at least as good in practice as the lithium batteries that come in PlayStation controllers. They hold MORE charge than disposable AAs. I can't believe people are still using terrible disposable batteries that leak and are terrible for the environment when much superior alternatives have existed for decades. In a sane world disposable batteries would be illegal.
About time you made this video 👏 Recently, I'm finally start playing 8th generation console after being playing with my 7th gen consoles (both PS3 and Xbox 360) for so long with 1st model of Xbox One with 500GB (definitely not enough for the amount of games I want to play, will do a storage upgrade in the future) being the first one I bought 2nd hand with all the necessary accessories. I was going to buy 1st model PS4 but I was couple of hundreds of Malaysian Ringgit short. Here in Malaysia, I'm actually surprised how the console has become cheap to buy. Heck some Xbox One games that are sold at CeX (they've expanded their store in Malaysia) is cheaper than PS4 games.

It's not as straightforward as replacing a hard drive on a PS4 or PS3 where they just slide out, you'll have to actually disassemble the Xbox to get to the hard drive (also a great time to replace the thermal paste while you're in there)
Adding an SSD to my One X did make it boot up a little bit quicker, and it's snappier while flipping through menus.
One of the most forgotten things that the Xbox One did so well was the "Snap Feature" and being able to play games like Madden while actually watching an NFL game in the small window.
what perfect timing, i literally just bought one on tuesday
XBOX Showcase FOMO lol
Always great to have Kelsey on your channel! She is so knowledgeable with this stuff and also quite gorgeous. Love you too, Jason!
Yay! Thank you!
You forgot to mention the 4k blu ray support on the One S and X. Great video as allways though.
I bought my Xbox One S primarily as a 4K/3D Bluray player that just so happened to play games too.
That one that says i made this is a special edition that was given to the team that worked on the xbox one.
Yes thank y’all ! I was just looking at your old Xbox collection videos ! Y’all are the best !!
The original one was big and loud. Had a big brick power cord and no storage. I love mine so much. Makes me think of just a regular desktop tower.
I remember when the Series X was announced, people were accidentally buying One X systems. 😅
I have a white new in box Xbox one x and they are already worth up to $1,500 now in Australia so I just decided to keep it unopened.
I remember being a wee lad and trying to explain to my dad that the Xbox 360 was actually the Xbox 2, not to be confused with the PS3 - and his eyes just glazed over while I was talking, lol
If I didn't know any better I'd say Microsoft is coming up with names for their console based on a strict "let's confuse tf out of parents wanting to buy their kid an xbox for Christmas" policy
Right on!!! @@DEVILTAZ35
I've also accidently bought a (xbox one version of a game and not the series x version of a game - stupid white banner)
Xbox should'ves just labeled everything Xbox one /w the raised plastic letters up until the series x.
I have a copy of w2k23... for the xbox one (white banner) yet I have a copy of w2k22 for the series x (white banner)
no accounting for stupidity
I love videos with Kelsey 😍
I started a wonderswan collection because of her lol
Snag the short list of exclusives now. They're all pretty much $10 and under right now!
There's an arcade hatchet / axe throwing game, and it uses a cannibalized Kinect sensor. If you look inside the game, you will literally see the exact camera layout of the V2 connect
Yess... XBOX & Kelsey
Dynamic duo that i waiting for
The OG Xbox was the only Microsoft gaming console I played on until a year before the pandemic when I finally picked up a secondhand Xbox One X and immediately played through TitanFall 2 and, of course, all of the Halo games that I missed.
So happy the buying guides are back
I still have my VCR Xbox One.
Xbox System updates are the devils work!
Good to see some XBO videos. I bought a XBO S but hardly touched it compared to the 360. Sadly, it's collecting dust in a closet!
How is it collecting dust 'in' a closet?
Always good to see Kelsey back and still standing on a platform. Bring her back next week!
Great video as always! Hard to believe that there isn't a Sunset Overdrive sequel at this point :(
Ponies went the other route
Totally should have included the scorpio edition powerful system thats always slept on, great video as always though
You guys have reminded me to kiss my Cyberpunk 2077 edition goodnight 😄😄😄
Hope the hdmi-retimer chip doesnt go kaput or you probably will be kissing it goodnight
Sony bandwagon caused the hating
Всегда приятно смотреть и слушать ваши совместные обзоры! 💕
Love these videos, I had a Xbox One with about 55 games, but my girlfriend sold the collection I had...including a Xbox 360 with about 80 games, PS3 with 60 games, PS2 with 80 games and a PS4 with about 30 games...
Well...left her in 2018, currently have a PS3 with 352 games, 2 Xbox 360 E models with 120 games, 4 modded PS2s with OPL and external hard drives full of games, 4 PS Classic Minis with modded Autobleem hdds with 350 games on each...modded them myself 😎, 2 SNES Classic minis modded with 120 games each...same games...modded them myself too 😎
Will get two PS4s and two Xbox Ones soon...love having more than one of the same thing...just incase something happens or a failure occurs...which doesn't often happen...so call me a collector 😅
I have Xbox one X gold rush the one bundled with battlefield 1 in Europe .. you guys in US had this in Taco Bell contest I think.. but the best looking Xbox for me is Gears 5 & Cyberpunk 2077 editions
Thanks so much metal Jesus rocks 😊
Metal Jesus has put some size on. He's looking well on it.
Bulking up for a regional Pelota purépecha tournament.
About time you made this video 👏
Recently, I'm finally start playing 8th generation console after being playing with my 7th gen consoles (both PS3 and Xbox 360) for so long with 1st model of Xbox One with 500GB (definitely not enough for the amount of games I want to play, will do a storage upgrade in the future) being the first one I bought 2nd hand with all the necessary accessories.
I want the Kelsey book!

I was worried that retro game content creators we're running out of content. This episode proves me wrong! Thank you Metal Jesus!
So Xbox One is now retro? 😅
I have a XBOX Series X and I consider it a XBOX ONE X PRO ELITE.
Great video guys! I love it. ❎❎
I still have 3 Xbox one x’s one new in box never opened. 2 original Xbox ones, two Xbox one s’s and two Xbox series X . The Ltd launch editon and The Halo edition.
I was a bit addicted to Xbox consoles lol
Everything still works. Sadly my 360 collection only 2 of six still work. Plus I have 2 Original Xbox’s but only 1 works . I need to get my Green Halo xbox repaired
Xboxes have always been a fun console to collect but original and 360 are still my favourite for games.
@@DEVILTAZ35 That’s great man! I’m huge XBOX fan myself. You have a great collection of Xbox consoles! I wished I had a Halo Green OG Box! Especially The Halo 2 Blue one!! Those are my favorite Xbox consoles ever made bro! Have fun with all your Xbox stuff. ❎💚🖤🎮

I am 29 years old, and I have a huge crush on Kelsey. Ok, I feel better now thanks MJR.
MJR I plugged in some new and very expensive headphones to watch this video. The theme song sounds even better! It was like hearing it for the first time again. Sweet background tunes too.
Rock on!
White XBone (the GOW Ultimate Edition bundle) and GOW5 XB1X is what I have. Should hunt down the GOW4 XB1S to match the video...
The white Pees4 is also rare! Destiny version
@@user-73a Ya that one was nice, I considered grabbing one. I have the Uncharted Collection edition PS4, its that light blue color with Nathan Drake silhouette. Also have the matching Gold headset and a couple of its controllers. My PS4pro is just the standard black one though. I liked the Death Stranding PS4pro too. And the 25th anniversary PS4 (just got the controller).
This is a great video & topic ! My 1st console was Atari 2600and played: Asteroids, Star Raiders, Combat. Next console was Sega Genesis. Oh my! I played Super Street Fighter Turbo 2, Mortal Kombat 2, True Lies, & Sonic 2. Great job guys!🍺👍🏻
I’ve had a crush on Kelsey since I was a kid

MIcrosoft need to get shit together with their naming. Mayby it'is their bisness model to confuse customers.
Next Xbox console the XXX lol
I remember when a Microsoft exec when someone pointed out that the letters "S" and "X" sounded similar and he responded with something like, "I wish you were in our marketing department six months ago."
bisness? 🤨
People are just stupid, there is nothing confusing about it at all if you use common sense. I have heard that is something a lot of Americans lack though.
Yes, Sony number there consoles to help simple minds ;-)
