Absolutely. Gamers often complain about the cost of retro software and hardware but neglect the fact that there is _always_ a very good library of games that people are looking to unload at any given moment. Right now, that's Wii U and Xbox One games.

Love that game. I have crappy headphones and a crappy tv also play played it on my old PS4. that game is still dope. can't imagine playing it on some upgraded gear.
Lol,worse console to play it on though. It runs at 120 fps on Series X which makes the car combat incredibly fun.

Another plus to the One S & One X is that they do play back physical 4K Blu-Ray discs, so can be an inexpensive way to get a 4K Blu-Ray player as well.

I recently bought a One X and it came with a Series controller! The red and white one! I opened the console up, cleaned it and put in a brand new Crucial MX500 1TB SSD and I have to say this is becoming my favourite console of all time and I'm a massive PS3 and PS4 fan. Currently playing 'Control' and a bunch of other multiplat stuff that I'd normally play on PS4 or PC but it's cool to experience the 'One X Enhanced' versions. The One X is a sleeper and it kind of never got to shine it's light. I can see it becoming rare someday.

The best thing about the controllers is you can buy rechargable batteries/battery packs. I prefer that over the sealed battery on Playstation.

Me too, I totally prefer the Xbox battery slot. Imagine if my Gamecube Wavebirds would have internal battery, by now, the battery would be totally dead. Hell, my PS3 controllers barely work for more than 3 hours. The X360 in the other hand, always working for long hours with a pair of Eneloops.

I recently bought an XB1 and have been snatching up cheap games. My XB1 was dirt cheap and came with 15 games. I love the controller. Nows the time to grab those games cheap.

I ended up getting my original Xbox one for free because the store I went to literally threw away the entire console because of a bad power supply. I found it in the dumpster & took it home & I knew right away what was wrong with it. I found it, a matching controller, & about 10 to 20 games for it. I pretty much got all that for the price of the power supply which was less than $60.
Sounds like the store was run by idiots

It should be noted that some of the Forza games have been digitally de-listed, so grab the physical releases if you ever want to play them.
Yep, I had to get Forza Horizon 2 and motorsport 5 & 6 physical because the digital versions are long gone.

@@CarlC9898 If you are new at this bus, yes, but people that bought it digital before delisting or even got any of them when they were given on GWG still can download and play it now.
Theres a REALLY remote possibility of still find some not redeemed code for these games lost over there in the wild (games as FH3 used to came with consoles and some re-sellers always snag the games and other accessories from the box trying to make some extra profit), but that turns more and more into a lucky strike with the time passed from its releases/delistings.

Also when Forza Motorsport 7 was released, for some reason I was feeling super optimistic that time and preordered the ultimate edition so I still have that one in my digital library with all the extra content. I've seen the physical version go for $25+ after its delisting.
Forza Horizon (360) is also backwards compatible and it adds a 4K patch.

Me too! I changed the thermal paste to a high grade, I put an SSD, and I play on a monitor with FreeSync 120hz mode enabled on the Xbox One S and use an Elite 2 core controller. This console never stops giving!

I actually have the Gears of War Xbox One. It's a wicked cool console and I love the effect that it and the Controller both have.
It's funny you saying a 42" TV is small. I remember moving to North Carolina back in 2000. Moved into my apartment and didn't have any furniture. So, my first purchase at Walmart was my new HUGE tv (in my mind at the time it was very big) 25" tv.....lol. Man that thing was heavy as heck too!

You can replace the hard drive on all Xbox One consoles with any SATA drive 500 GB or larger. Microsoft offers a download for the OS that you copy to a USB drive and install to the new hard drive. You can even put an SSD in for faster load times.

I have a white new in box Xbox one x and they are already worth up to $1,500 now in Australia so I just decided to keep it unopened.
I remember being a wee lad and trying to explain to my dad that the Xbox 360 was actually the Xbox 2, not to be confused with the PS3 - and his eyes just glazed over while I was talking, lol
If I didn't know any better I'd say Microsoft is coming up with names for their console based on a strict "let's confuse tf out of parents wanting to buy their kid an xbox for Christmas" policy

@@runi5413 Lol. I was at gamestop and this lady I'd say maybe 50-60's like 3 weeks ago came in to return a game for the xbox series x, because it's not compatible with the xbox one x.
Gamestop employees forever having to ask if they the series X system to parents...etc and explaining it.
I almost accidently bought a series x title as well when I only had the xbox one x. Until the cashier told me. I was like oops. Atm I think that was the main selling point of picking up a series X. I've also accidently bought a (xbox one version of a game and not the series x version of a game - stupid white banner)
Xbox should'ves just labeled everything Xbox one /w the raised plastic letters up until the series x.

"Quantum Break" was ahead of its time. They should do a 4K Remaster with optimized controlls, raytracing, dlss/fsr, frame generation, etc. - and YES...the "Mad Max"-Game was so cool and beautiful!

One addition on the types of cases is the Xbox One - Xbox Series X games which are the Xbox One versions playable on both systems (e.g the Call of Duty Vanguard one that isn't the cross gen Xbox Series X - Xbox One edition where you get both versions)

I bought my Xbox One S primarily as a 4K/3D Bluray player that just so happened to play games too.

Xbox One X was the one I jumped into cause it can play physical 4K movie discs and the PS4 played only BluRays back then and I still have it hooked up for 4K movies playback! Lol

While we are talking about different models, I feel everyone forgets about the xbox one elite model that had a hybrid SSD and it did make a difference in load times.
You can upgrade the hard drive in any Xbox one... I replaced the 1tb HDD in my Xbox One X with a 1tb sata SSD. I used a basic cloning program on a windows 10 PC to copy the old drive to the new one a sector at a time. That was the only option available at the time (I did that back in early 2021) Now days you can download the firmware from Microsoft, install it on a USB drive, and it'll walk you through installing the Xbox OS when you fire up the Xbox with its new blank drive for the first time. That method allows up to a 2tb drive to be installed and recognized, so you could install a 2tb in a Xbox one that came originally with a 500gb or 1tb drive.
It's not as straightforward as replacing a hard drive on a PS4 or PS3 where they just slide out, you'll have to actually disassemble the Xbox to get to the hard drive (also a great time to replace the thermal paste while you're in there)
Adding an SSD to my One X did make it boot up a little bit quicker, and it's snappier while flipping through menus. It doesn't load games quite as quick as my Series X, but it does load into most games quicker then it did with a HDD.
I installed a SSD to my OG XB1 and the load time were a bit faster. The main advantage is the UI scrolled faster while searching for games. Buttery smooth.
@patrickmurphy9470 idk about every game but I definitely noticed the difference in destiny 2 at the time as my friends would load in about 30 seconds or so slower. I also verified it wasn't connection based as they were at my house and it did the same thing.
I have Xbox one X gold rush the one bundled with battlefield 1 in Europe .. you guys in US had this in Taco Bell contest I think.. but the best looking Xbox for me is Gears 5 & Cyberpunk 2077 editions

@@user-73a Ya that one was nice, I considered grabbing one. I have the Uncharted Collection edition PS4, its that light blue color with Nathan Drake silhouette. Also have the matching Gold headset and a couple of its controllers. My PS4pro is just the standard black one though. I liked the Death Stranding PS4pro too. And the 25th anniversary PS4 (just got the controller).

15:15 - This past month went to a Hospital to get a full scan and the lenses had the Xbox Logo. I thought I was seeing things or going insane and asked the nursing staff, and sure enough medical equipment were using Xbox Lenses.
