When I saw them in Madison, WI, I think the crowd was so completely in awe the entire time (and the music so loud) that there was nothing to do except respect the presence and noise. A damn shame when the crowd doesn't show their respect.

Axeman Cartoons I was thinking the same thing. Still great but it seems like they were just a tiny bit off. Still awesome though. And yeah, people need to stop talking during the quiet bits. If they don't want to listen why are they there? I'm glad that guy screamed "shut the fuck up". It worked, a bit. Lol
I find it funny because you can totally tell the other guys caught onto it real quick, but Steve was totally immersed into the music to the point of auto pilot haha Ive done that a few times in shows before

And yeah the audience was too cold but the truth is that Neurosis is not the kind of band who knows how to interact with the audience. Otherwise, amazing show! The problem maybe the amount of equipment they have in such a small venue on a small stage . That would have been a ball ache to sort that out more for crew members than anything .
There was.....kind of: back in 2004 I saw Jarboe (from Swans) singing with Neurosis. That's was the support for an all-Neurosis gig. Neurosis essentially played two shows back to back.
I know Neurosis is experimental but those bendings at the intro were so out of tune. Still doesnt take away the immersion you experience when listening such titans
Noah's got such a weird job in the band, unless I don't know what it's like to do synths and samples. He looks like he has to get way intensely into playing his instruments when actually performing with them doesn't seem even slightly demanding. Not saying he's not good at what he does, just that it's funny that you have to act intense when you're ultimately not doing much. XD
The closing of Through Silver in Blood continues to be the most metal thing on the planet.

The sludge scene is known for being anti-showmanship.
Neurosis are visceral and brutally, emotionally heavy as fuck.
