On one hand, I wish they could get as big as possible, they deserve it. On the other hand, this music is not for everybody and somehow I like the fact that very few of us get to enjoy this kind of performances. Anyway, this is amazing.Thirty four. Man what a jewel.
Can confirm, having lived in for Umeå three years...three times six months of northern Swedish winter...it's brutal, man. I reckon that brutality comes through in the crushing musical atmospheres those bands create.
Cult of Luna is, and will always be, the best band Ive ever seen live. Their integrity, the emotions and their sense of composition is the formula of their immense talent. Thank you COL for existing!
Agreed! I first saw them when the co-headlined with Katatonia (I was really there just for Tesseract :X ) but I stayed for the whole show and these guys fucking blew me away. I had never experienced anything like them before that, and I consider them to be one of top three favorite bands and best live show -hands down.
Emotions is the best word for their shows. I rember like it was yesterday when I saw them and I watched the keyboarder and he screamed and screamed and screamed and was sooo into the music and boom he smashed his keyboard, a piece of it hit my head and I thought "holy cow, this is intense and emotional." Still get the chills while writing this.
No gimmicky sets, no acting, no elaborate setpieces, no dubbing, no lip syncing and no electronic trickery to make it sound good. Just a bunch of excellent musicians playing their instruments, some great lighting, raw passion and awesome music. This is my type of live music! And so well filmed!
I've seen CoL more than 20 times. There were days in mid 2000's we were going to their shows twice a week. All wonderful shows but my heart will hold forever emotions of the first shows, in the tiny clubs just for a bunch of people
An absolutely incredible performance and a real love letter to Cult of Luna fans everywhere. "Years in a Day" couldn't be a more appropriate title, as I sit here to watch and listen to this amazing show and remember the last 20 years of listening to this band, all compressed into these brief moments. Thank you Cult of Luna, you've outlived many of my friends, saw me through the best days as well as the worst, and never failed to inspire. I'm looking forward to the next 20 years.
I started to listen to Cult of Luna (together with Isis and many other similar bands) when I was 18. Cult of Luna showed me a whole new sphere of emotions what music can contain. They opened a door of whole new enjoyment. Their music makes cry while smiling. Now, 11 years later, their music is still full of surprises and its fascinating, how "different" they sound as I am mentally growing up. It is still my number one post-metal band. I hope I will see them live again soon.
I attended the 2009 Metaltown Festival(read all about it here: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metaltown_Festival) in my hometown Göteborg, mainly to watch Meshuggah, Opeth and The Haunted. It was a two day festival at the time(later three and later it was no more). Marilyn Manson was headlining the second day I believe and I was doing my business in the porta-potty, thinking its time to head home since I did not care for MM enough to stay another 2 hours. On my way out I had to walk past the 'tent stage' and something caught my ear. I took a hard left and wandered in to the tent area where Cult of Luna had just started their set. This I figured out later. I leaned against one of the tent poles 2 o'clock stage view and proceeded to stand absolutely still for maybe 1 hour and 15 minutes until the last note in a hypnotized state, in complete disbelief of what I was seeing and hearing. Magical/transcendent/orgasmic or whatever you wish to call it, all those things does not come close to describe the event or how it made me feel. The next day I went to the local music store and bought all the albums they had on hand(Salvation, Somewhere Along the Highway and Eternal Kingdom) and been an addict ever since. Loved getting into Vertikal, Vertikal II, Råångest and Mariner as they have been put out. Their musical integrity and creativity is inspiring. I will never forget this band and what they have given me. Skål
In my 20 years of going to live shows, I've said many times after a concert: "this was the best concert I've ever seen!" But there are only a few that still stand out in my mind after time passes as indeed some of the best concerts I've ever seen. The time I saw Cult of Luna was one of them and I had barely heard any of their music before I went to see them.

I am literally hypnotised by this. This is the best concert I have ever seen and I was not even there. Also shout out to everyone who participated on a sound engineering and lights. This really is something extraordinary!
I could listen to the end of that version of Finland every second of my life. I've never heard anything like this before, anything that is this powerful and brings that many images in my mind.
Listening to this journey, you think... why only 400k views? But then it is like that beautiful spot you discovered on your travels. That special place that you wish to stay off the radar of instagrammers and influencers.
We all big up the obvious songs but come on OWLWOOD kicks ass . One of their best . Hope all you Cult Of Luna fans around the world are well in these crazy times for everyone . Peace and love from Preston Lancashire UK
I have seen COL playing Mariner live in NYC and I have to say that this was probably the best show I have seen in my life so far (43 years). These guys are an incredible experience live.
I recently got to see them for the first time at Psycho Las Vegas last year and it truly was the greatest concert experience for me as well. (53 years old.)
Awesome concert have never had the privilege to see them live but out of all those bands that have that sound---Neurosis,isis,pelican,Amenra ect C.O.L. stands apart as the best in my opinion, they also released 3 albums in the space of about 3 years so quite prolific as well.would much love to see em live ,such a powerful and beautiful band.🎼🎸🥁🔥
I have to agree, CoL is a cut above. At the risk of sounding pretentious; they go way beyond being music It's art sure, but it stirs something true inside me like no other music has ever come close to doing (except maybe RHCP lmao)
....as far as I can tell everyone commenting here are talking about CoL. Not a single person mentioned Isis until you. How can Isis be better if they don't even exist anymore? I don't see them performing flawlessly for nearly 2 hours, recording it and then uploading it for free.
I hope they come to Argentina sometime and finish the show with Dark City, Dead Man! It should still be their closing song! It is spectacular and creates a great and dark atmosphere.
It introduced me to them. Put it in my car with no preconception of what the band is, and I was blown away because I couldn't figure out what just happened... even though I 'd been a fan of Isis.
This is one of the most special shows, not remembering just all the years and good songs of the band but all the time we as your supporters have enjoyed the growing of COL.
Iv'e heard of this band a while ago but i just recently delved into it's old albums and live performances. Everything that this band does is brilliant. So many eargasms to be had in the sounds that your group makes, thank you! Cult Of Luna quickly became one of the top ten bands that i wish to see live before the world ends. Keep rocking!!!
One of my favourite bands ever, it was a pitty that pandemic just started before your show here in Mexico City so I did not take the risk to attend it. Hope to see you live soon. Best wishes to you all and keep doing great music, it's quite much needed.
Maybe in 2019 people will stop fucking caring who has their phone out. You guys can go hang out with the dudes in the Jane Doe denim jackets that just stare at everyone during sets instead of watching the band.
1:50:50 Not even considering the music, this band have such a strong image and visual style. Even down to the last moments of the gig, where they focus on the guitarist feedbacking his guitar, then abruptly cutt to black as he pulls the plug, to be replaced with the band logo, everything has been carefully thought though. They either have an amazing marketing department, are seriously talented and stylish individuals with an eye for visual design, or both.
This crowd - so appreciative and attentive! Not so much as a cheer until the very last note of "I: The Weapon". Going nuts and shouting during a show is fine for some types of music... but for the cinematic grandeur that is Cult of Luna, it's heresy. Very glad to see that your fans understand this.
Amazing band who obviously have a great production team within themselves and on the road. The beauty of this style of touring is the passion that goes along with it. Solid to throw this out to the masses free of charge also, respect...X
Just into the first 10 minutes of watching my first Cult of Luna live concert.....have all the albums....and I can feel straight away why they have become one of my top ten bands ever so quickly....The Owlwood riff and the feels.... supurb. Every album has something different that goes beyond mere wall of sound perfection.....and then Echoes starts....❤️🔥👨🎤....🤯🖤
This has got to be the best live gig I’ve ever seen! You guys are incredible, seriously can’t believe what I just witnessed!! Hopefully you’ll make to Australia some day
Bless you guys, one of my favorite heavy bands. I have been lucky enough to see you play in Auckland on the Eternal Kingdom tour, the heaviest show ive ever been to. I adore that album. love you guys, arohanui whanau xo
Bands like Isis, Neurosis and Cult of Luna represent some "higher" form of art that's not just music. It's something much bigger... through these bands in some moments (if you're capable of hearing not just listening) you can understand something universal, say...maybe the meaning of life??? The struggling reality of our existence...
This is amazing! Please CoL, I beg you, come to Croatia, or anywhere near for that matter, I am so ready to support you in any way I can, 1 T-shirt isn't enough! You are a collective of amazing and true artists, so much emotion and honesty and might is in your music... To see you live would be an honour you glorious Swedes! And I will always be thankful to one of my best bros that showed you to me
Love this show!! Love these song/band!. Its good when a band is mostly perfect in discography!. I do feel they are less known - but im ok with that- … i cant say no to things with “luna” in the name!. - when i first heard them my mind was in another place but thanks to COL its in a better place. Without Julie Christmas? Very disappointed. Who needs this.
Emotions is the best word for their shows. i have a dubt if the best was cult of luna or Isis ... for me live music it's the dimension of this kind of music
Man,Dark City Dead Man is one of the mosts epic songs of all time.
Indeed!
Perfect song to end on too!
yes!
The progression that sounds like 5/4 to 7/4 but is just a 6/8. Genius
The song at the end of time.
No gimmicky sets, no acting, no elaborate setpieces, no dubbing, no lip syncing and no electronic trickery to make it sound good. Just a bunch of excellent musicians playing their instruments, some great lighting, raw passion and awesome music.

Exactly the same for me, i became an adult with cult of luna.
This is magic. It’s like music rose up and snatched me by my soul.
Can’t wait for the opportunity to see Cult of Luna live.
I saw them once live. It is mesmerizing. It's like you are in a totally different world and their music is your only true friend
Emotion in motion. Sound in time. Vocals of grief, anger, anguish, love and compassion. Phenomenal.

Agree. Not even a genre I listen to at all on my own, but yea, best live show I've even seen!
This is one of my favorite live performances of all time.
I never truly appreciated "dark city dead man" until I watched this video. What a phenomenal track.
great Outro of an album

The outro to the final song left me with my jaw dropped and eyes wide open in the library. Very rarely have I experienced anything like that in music.
You're so dam right! Hopefully their tour 10/21 could happen... 🙏
After all these years - I love all the CoL albums - but Somewhere along the highway might be the greatest masterpiece of them all!
Thank you for just making this free and public, such an amazing performance and tribute to all that is CoL
Goose bumps reading this
What an epic show. I especially love the songs from Somewhere Along the Highway. That album holds a special place in my heart. Masterpiece!
agreed

Echoes, waiting for you, dark city... what a masterpiece...
I was at La Gaité Lyrique, it's still one of the best show of my life!
I refuse to believe that every musician here doesn't want to be in a band like this one. What a fantastic experience it must be to see them live.
I could listen to the end of that version of Finland every second of my life. I've never heard anything like this before, anything that is this powerful and brings that many images in my mind.

I love that they didn't utter a word. Just came out and blew the crowd away and left.
This next song is called, "So Mediocre We Have to Tell You Its Title."
OOOOh i'd love to see that intro in live... Light chaser, really....
one of the best bands that can be seen live.. #justwow
I very appreciate that they played the entire Somewhere Along the Highway record :)
Великолепно!!! Стена звука такая, что материки может сдвинуть!!!Awesome!!! Great wall of sound!!!
I have seen COL playing Mariner live in NYC and I have to say that this was probably the best show I have seen in my life so far (43 years). These guys are an incredible experience live.
Matthias Krüger I've seen them three times now, and that Mariner show at Gramercy was hands down the most incredible concert of my short life(28).
I recently got to see them for the first time at Psycho Las Vegas last year and it truly was the greatest concert experience for me as well. (53 years old.)
I was at the UK Mariner performance, and yes, it was the best gig I've ever been to.
I never get tired of this

cult of luna is the greatest postmetal band of all time. period.
they are good. but they dont even come close. sorry mate.
I have to agree, CoL is a cut above. At the risk of sounding pretentious; they go way beyond being music
It's art sure, but it stirs something true inside me like no other music has ever come close to doing (except maybe RHCP lmao)
MOUNTAIN nothing comes close to isis and nothing comes close to neurosis to think that is pathetic
MOUNTAIN come at me bro
so thats what this is all about? you want a brodown? get at me bro!
Finland is my favorite CoL song and they played it perfectly. That song gives me chills. It's pure aural art!
Cardăsda Everyone is saying Isis is better.
They are two different bands.
Just enjoy the music
To each their own
....as far as I can tell everyone commenting here are talking about CoL. Not a single person mentioned Isis until you. How can Isis be better if they don't even exist anymore? I don't see them performing flawlessly for nearly 2 hours, recording it and then uploading it for free.

21:25 the most EPIC moment in RUclips history.
I hope they come to Argentina sometime and finish the show with Dark City, Dead Man! It should still be their closing song! It is spectacular and creates a great and dark atmosphere.
No words to describe ... I envy everyone that was there !
Hvfear I was...it was amazing...
Owlwood for me the best Cult's of Luna song!
It introduced me to them. Put it in my car with no preconception of what the band is, and I was blown away because I couldn't figure out what just happened... even though I 'd been a fan of Isis.

Absolutely fantastic from the beginning to the end. You guys are fantastic musicians. Thanks for this present, you made us proud and happy fans.
One of my favourite bands ever, it was a pitty that pandemic just started before your show here in Mexico City so I did not take the risk to attend it. Hope to see you live soon. Best wishes to you all and keep doing great music, it's quite much needed.
Pure art.
This is so amazing, it almost kills me. I better lie down
Cult of Luna is one of the best bands too ever exist. This live performance is top tier. Fucking amazing.
Almost nobody filming with a smartphone. Everybody is there for the music.
Casimir that's called talent...

Probably because everybody knew the show was being filmed anyway...
@kil drenno it wasn't the case

Incredible. I have optimistically bought tickets to their Wroclaw show later this year. I live in Australia....
Well, i hope for you !

Saw them early 2020 in Denver and so happy I did last show I might see in the next two years happy it was one of my favorite bands of all time.
One of my biggest inspirations. Saw them live once and thigs were never the same since.
Love this show!! Love these song/band!.

I love the records. But, CoL is a band that must be experienced live. I would love to convey half of the emotion they do in my band. It would feel like an accomplishment.
