So happy to find this channel, I'm currently doing a restoration of my 3LD Tenere with many parts in a similar condition. For now I just want mine safe to ride on the road this year & so far I've refurbished brake calipers & master cylinders but next is: New rims from SMPro, new brake discs & wheel bearings new chain & sprockets new fork internals carbs cleaned & fuel taps repaired a full service with valve clearances checked. Next winter will be a big strip down to re-coat the frame & engine casings plus maybe a new wiring loom and then re-spray the bike in Sonauto colours. Anyway, thanks for filming your restoration, it's a great project. Also big thanks for doing it in English- I'm afraid my German is limited to ordering a beer!
I bought a XTZ750 a few months ago that I'm trying to restore for cheap as well. It was cheap because it was used like an enduro bike, so a lot of damaged fairings and parts. I just ordered spokes from a Swedish company for the rear as I had 3 bent spokes and others looked rusted. So far I have done on mine: All fuel lines replaced. Both fuel petcocks restored. Fuel tank hole repaired. Side fairings fixed and now preping for paint. New fairings would have cost as much or more than the price I got the bike for. Whole new tail mudguard, with lights as previous one was cut and would not pass inspection probably. New clutch cable. Changed clutch lever with Yamaha TDM 900 one, as old one broke when I crashed in the woods :) Had it spare. Checked carbs, working fine, might need to tune a bit but need to ride it more to feel it. etc. Lots of things still to do before spring.
Hi, thank you for sharing your project. As you see, with mine there is lots todo and everytime i take something apart, the more damage i see. Mostly from neglect and age. But well, hopefully when i am finished, it will be a hell of a bike :-)
@@SamOnABikeSweden 26L is standard tank, 5L reserve (so 21L + 5L reserve) How much KM/L you get is dependant if you know how to set carbs up, like all carbed bike. After doing carbs + valves and sync, i was getting close to 5L/100km almost. That was highway. but mostly how I ride, i get about 6L/100km as I ride offroad 50/50. so between 5-6 is good for me. Doing rallies, I usually hit reserve around 300km, but depends on the track. Then i know I can probably do around 40-50km more on reserve
LG
which webshop are you going to use to order the fairings? Do you also know a good website where I can find the color codes of original colors used by yamaha?
Hi Mike, the fairings are not produced anymore. Everything which you can buy new is a recreation and not from yamaha. There is an Excel Sheet which you can search for and find the correct color codes. Better search for "rh lacke" which is a Germany based company which produces the paint. They have a Webshop where you can put your bike in and find the colors. I hope that helps. Greetings
That is a common "issue", the more your carburetors are out of sync, the more it vibrates after 4500 RPM. It vibrates for me too but in an OK range. More on that on an upcoming Video. Greetings and thanks for your comment.

KeDo- Leistungskrümmer, Laser- Auspuff, Dynojet Stage l, K+N- Lufi, vom Profi Vergaser einstellen lassen.
Vorne Wilbersfedern mit 10mm Vorspannhülsen, Federbein von Wilbers mit Druckausgleichsbehälter höhenverstellbar (!).
Lenkerböcke mit 2mm dicken VA- Unterlagscheibe fixiert, besseres Lenkverhalten.

What's the mpg / l/km on these bikes? How much gas does they take?

Nice !
Direkt mal ein Abo dagelassen 👍🏻
I also have one in excellent condition. Where do you find parts for the bike? Seems like Kedo only has a few parts.
Sometimes when you pull something like this apart, you wonder “how the hell did they manage to put this thing together”

My 750 tenere vibrates so my hands get numb. Anyone who has a solution for that? But it drives great without any other problems.

Think you fussy, it's a old bike. My 2022 tenere is in worse condition than that 😂
