Thank you for the instructions! The part was not expensive. I replaced the broken trim with manual tools in about 15 minutes with my kids help. Probably could’ve done it in 10 minutes without their help😂
What a great video. Thank you so much my friend! I was able to buy the part from Volvo for $25 and put it on myself! It took 10 minutes! This single mama is so happy right now!!!!
Thanks for sharing I had to replace both sides on mine. For those curious about the passenger side there is a big blue connector to undo. Be sure to raise the seat on both front and back sides. I also disconnected the battery just to be safe. Not sure if it is needed, but I know from tearing into the dash it can throw airbag codes. Got to love these newer cars smh.
Thank you for this video - you saved me so much time of trying to figure out how this comes apart! Took 3 ty-wraps, a cutter, a T-15 and a T25 out to the car - 7 minutes later - I was all done. Thank you again for taking the time to post this.😃
Hey: BIG thanks for taking the time to do that and share the info. I would not have thought it would be that easy. Now I'm gonna try it myself and hopefully score big points with our household XC90 driver, who recently ripped a dress while trying to slide out over that dang broken side panel. THANKS
Thank you so much for this video!! This is exactly what I needed, and your instructions were perfect every step of the way. I replaced the part and I couldn't be happier about it. You're the best!
Thx for this. FYI, in the 2004 models (at least in the V70 and XC70), there's no T15 screw holding the plastic panel on. You just pop it off at the front and back.
That is a critical problem about this part. It will not keep it from breaking again. I think the seat is too soft and when you go in and out, the bodyweight goes all over the seat panel. Maybe they could sell a stronger foam to fill the seat, so it would keep the body from weighing over the seat panel. AAAANNDDD someone could upload on THANGS the 3D stl file so we could print this part in ABS plastic. ALSO, MAYBE we will have to use some expanding foam to fill the outer side of the seat foam, so it could work in the way above.
Volvo's this design part is really a failure. I had it replaced once and it is broken again. I have to buy the third one to install it.😢 Thanks for the video.
Thank you very much! We did it thanks to your help. 2005 xc90, ordered part on Amazon and got it installed in 15 minutes including finding our tools! Awesome video, just right.
Here’s what my Amazon item description says, “Genuine Volvo 2005-2009 S60 2005-2013 XC90 LH Driver Seat Lower Trim Panel Oak”. Sold By “Shop Volvo Parts”, got it for $28.18 April 2021, looks like they are more expensive now. Good luck! You can do it! Still less than going to dealer.
This was extremely informative. I wish I knew where I could find the replacement screw for this. The one that was on my old was was broken and couldn’t be reused. Does anyone know where I could buy that exact screw ?
My switches are messing up I think. I noticed that the driver's side only works sometimes and sometimes I have to lean the seat forward a little to get it to work. What could the problem be?

Thanks for this! Volvo dealer wanted almost $1000 for the part and labor for this procedure! You are the man!
Total lifesaver, he made it seem easy and it was, exactly the video angles I needed to see
Thanks for mentioning the Torx bit sizes! (15 and 25!) Made the job that much quicker!

Where did you get the panel.they are made so cheap?
Can you please tell me where you got the new part?
@@shawty2793 I believe I purchased it from FCP Euro. But if you find the part name there, you may be able to find it elsewhere as well. Good luck!
The part was £19 and the video is great 10 out of 10
It helped me a lot,
Thank you so much for this great video and instruction. Going to replace mine this weekend with your help. Love and respect from England UK ❤

The hardest part was finding our scissor nippers. Ha!
Can you please tell me what you searched to order? I also have an xc90 but 07 model

Love it. I think you forgot to zip-tie the cable to the underside though.

Just finished mines, thanks for the tutorial.
Been looking for this. thanks. Can you do the rubber sealing strip on doors windows?
I know right!? My driver and passenger sides are almost shot! The rear doors still sound great, like brand new.
Any links for the part? I need a cream version.
Perfect instructions! Thanks!
Outstanding detailed video, thanks for sharing!!! Helped me out alot on my 07 Xc90
Brilliant absolutely brilliant thanks for the help
Plenty off how to with electric seats , mine is manual adjust , trim broken how the heck do you release the handle so can replace the panel . Anybody
Great job but I think you should have put zip ties to secure the cable
Could you please do a video on replacing parking brake cable xc90? I own a 2009
Thank you 😃💛🙌⭐️🌟⭐️🌟
Thank you! Excellent video!
If you buy a Volvo without electric front seats, can you put them in new ones with electric?
My switches are messing up I think. I noticed that the driver's side only works sometimes and sometimes I have to lean the seat forward a little to get it to work. What could the problem be?
it looks like the motor in the seat itself could be faulty, these switches usually don't fail just the plastic gets always broken
Is there a way to manually move the seat back? Think my motor went out.
Great video thank you!
Very good video! Thanks a lot :)
Thank you! Very helpful!
Nice video, thanx.
Thank you!
Brilliant, good video!

Kudos!great video
Thank you very helpful ;-)
Use a tripod! it's annoyingly shaky.
I bet it would be easier if you took the gloves off.
Not same on rh side
