As someone who has walked away from a full speed head on collision in one of these, I can vouch for its safety credentials. Bought another one within a week after the way it performed.
@@incomingshell3268 I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard a few years ago that NOBODY has ever died of their injuries after a crash in an XC90. If that is in fact true, what more could anyone ask of a car to keep their family safe?
You mentioned how the rear center seat was useful so that the child can get closer to the parents but forgot to mention that it also functions as a booster seat for kids. That is probably my favorite feature of Volvo's interior which I think should be the standard in all vehicles.
I think this video is about the facelift version. In these version the 2.5T and 2.9 T6 weren’t available anymore. The V8 is known for its reliability. 2.5T also had some issues with cracked cilinder walls and coolant problems
I have a 2007 Volvo XC90 4.4 V8 AWD .. I love it.. it's a sleeper..it takes off fast .. stops pretty good.. I unfortunately crashed one .. let's just say the other guy ( Honda) didn't fare so tell..
fuel consumtion is overrated.. unless you drive a ecobox most cars are about the same on fuel dependant on the size. 7-10l per 100km.. and this is a big family car. get a good deal today on a xc90, you will have an already depreciated unit that does okay on fuel.
I went from a 2010 Corolla to a 2013 XC90. I drive at least 25 miles a day. Still fill up every 2 weeks. Costs me 70 instead of 40. 60 bucks a month difference for an increase in luxury and safety. Big whoop.
I don’t know. These things are money pits. You’d wanna be crazy buying an old automatic too. The fuel consumption is poor. Road tax and maintenance is high. I see people buying used XC90s and quickly getting rid of them again. They’re not even much fun to drive. To me it’s a WAG mobile. I prefer the V70 I’ve had a D5 and I now have a 2004 T5 manual with only 90,000 miles on the clock which I bought 4 years ago with 62,000 miles on the clock. I only run it a couple of times a week now or less since I no longer have to drive. I’ve had no real issues with this vehicle since I bought it. It’s never broken down or refused to start. Strict maintenance is crucial on these old buses and a Volvo is not cheap to maintain but the comfort and road holding is hard to beat and as I’ve worked in the car sales industry for 5 years, I’ve yet to drive a luxury vehicle that matches the comfort and I’ve driven them all!
I put 90k on mine and outside of standard maintenance I only had to replace a small gasket. Keep up with maintenance schedule and it will be extremely reliable. Fuel consumption is average when you compare it with other suvs…not sure what you’re expecting.

Sounds like you should be a member of The Volvo Saved My Life Club !! Would be interested in knowing more details...

❤️❤️❤️ I love my Volvo XC90 2014 3.2 R. Just bought one 4 days ago. Still learning how to understand it
Wht do you think now? 😅
It's the female version then..?
Just picked up my 2008 XC90 with 205,000 miles for $3600, took it for a test ride and I was sold
How is it going so far?
Any updates?
Ran one of these for ten years, only cost other than tyres and service, one headlight unit. Brilliant car
what year/ engine?
When I last looked, the astonishing fact emerged that no one had lost their life in a Series 1 XC-90 in the UK. It's a magnificent vehicle.
You forgot to tell about the 2.5 T5 petrol turbo. Many claim that this is the most reliable drivetrain of XC90s.
The t6 with gm tranny was the most complained
The 2.4d was
D5
Not only in the XC90’s. The V70, S60, S80 with this engine is amazing!

I got one too! 2007 Volvo XC90 V8 Sport Black Lifted 2.5 inches with flow master Turbo Mufflers
Me too mate, on my second v8 sport, the first one was crashed into also, sometimes I wonder why it’s so heavy
This is very informative for my 2012 volvo xc90 just bought one for our family thank you
Glad it was helpful! Please do subscribe!
I have a 2004 2.5T with 181k! It’s been an excellent car! Super reliable, no rust and super comfortable.
Thanks for your feedback!
How long have you had the car? Is it heavy on maintenance/repair costs?
What power do they have?
Been driving an '08 the last couple months. Pleasant experience. Good review.
Mine is at 299347. Still comfortable and reliable. A remarkable vehicle.
I have 2006 2.5 5cyl Turbo XC90 170, 000 miles . LOVE this car
I’ve had mine since new!
best car ever made, everyone who drives anything else than a volvo xc90 are saddos
The XC90 delivers without the attention that BMW and Audi drivers seem to crave from others.
This aged well.. With today's fuel prices this car is never a bargain unless you only drive very few miles..
My D5 is surprisingly economical for something which can tow a large caravan. Outperforms a lot of other similar vehicles.
@@eatmycomments about 10L per hundred around town is good for a car weighing 2.4 tonne.About 8 on the freeway.2009D5

Beast car ever!!
You forgot to mention the turning circle of an oil tanker!
That’s one of the things I hated about my S60R.
This is true but its one of very few things bad about it really. It's long and hard to park in small car parks.
The D5 diesel's are not available in the United States.
