I have the same problem in my 960. I went at point elevating the seat, and i confirm that the cable Is the second set. Then i try to cut short a diameter along the cable. Thank you for the video
Glad you could get your driver seat fixed based on Robert’s video. I got stuck because I cannot get my back bolts out of the seat mount because the seat is too far back and keeps me from getting the back bolt out. I also couldn’t figure out how to do it with the seat in. So, for now, our seat will stay where it is. 🤨
Whoa. I can’t get a socket on the bolt because the clearance above-the end of the seat rail is above it. I can’t get a regular wrench on it because there is some tab at the back that blocks a wrench. Been thinking of cutting that tab off with a angle grinder wheel.
Got a Volvo V50 seats stopped moving (heating, other sensors all ok). I’d fused the boot lightbulb earlier in the day and noticed the seat problem a little later. After checking fuses 84, 85, which were good which bummed me out, I learnt fuse 86 (5amp) which I killed when the bulb blew, also feeds power to the seats. Replaced that and all good. Just saying, fuse 86 or whichever it is on your vehicle. Hope it helps someone.
Thanks for your comment - My '99 S80 30A fuse in #4 had to be replaced. The first two replacement fuses blew, but after turning off the car, grounding myself, and putting in a third fuse, it seems to work so far!
nice star wars clip ! love it. 1. cant find anyone trying to go from the top of seat. seen anything ? 2. maybe without removing seat, one could cut some cable off in the middle with two incisions perpendicular to the cable and one across ? thoughts ? thanks !!
I had an immaculate, mint 96 Volvo 960 dark maroon with gray interior. Once I had my door panels heated and stretchered, there was not one wrinkle to be found! I wish I never sold that car.

My seat was stuck all the way back too, but somewhow I got the rear bolts off.

There are many Made in USA parts on it. Too many. And it's assembled in Sweden, not Germany.
