Just played my first few minutes of the game. Was doing the training mission in rookie village where you kill the boars. Some damn teleporting invisible mutant with a tentacle face came out of nowhere and ate my face. Died in less than five minutes. 10/10
@@link2g715 I know! Many more hours in and I've never seen anything but boars, dogs, and cats in Cordon. Crazy that the bloodsucker hit us in rookie village in my first 5 mins ha ha
I think a full playthrough could give a good kick-start to your channel right now. I know I'd watch it, and probably most people downloading it would, because it's hard as hell.
May be some things have changed but : - you don't need to crouch to heal near a fire - sleeping heal only limbs, not main pool Thanks for your guides !
@@Bandanner I don't think it does. Not in my experience. However, equip one kolobok (or any other health regen artefact) then sleep, and you'll wake up fully healed if the nap was long enough.
Appreciate the guides! Downloaded and played the game for the first time and took limb damage from a blood sucker. Took the post heal too late after the bandage and didn't full heal my limbs right. This answered my questions!
I believe that anything (or most things) that reduces sleepiness also counteracts dizziness, so if you take ibuprofen or yadulin you can counter it by drinking a coffee, energy drink, or by popping a caffeine tablet, also stam regen is great for when you learn how to dodge snorks and kill them with only a knife or anything else that lunges at you.

Hey just wanted to drop by and say thanks for your current 2 Videos on Gamma, they were the final grain that i decided to try out the modpack. Man was the downloading of all the mods slow this weekend! Took me 2 days - dunno seems to get a lot of attention at the moment. However, just wanted to say that i really enjoyed the getting started video. You put a lot of effort in it, and everything is really smooth explaining and you take the time the viewers need to understand the details and nuances. Also on the plus side, your voice is great, could listen to it all day. Have a very nice day, i hope to see more of it soon, and now i will go enjoy this video !
Thank you! Glad its all been helpful. And yes it seems a very large RUclipsr put up a video about it that got almost a million views so it hit the moddb servers rather hard and left poor Grok scrambling to create alternatives.
The mistake I kept making which resulted in me limping everywhere was using the post-heals without first using first-aid. I had to keep referring back to this video until it eventually clicked 😂 POST ONLY AFTER FIRST (POAF) 💪
Brilliant guides, looking to download gamma tonight and watched the first 2 video tutorials. Would love to see a let's play series as you're pretty chill and easy to watch.
Holy crap! I didn't even realize you posted this today! Thanks so much for doing these videos. I know there's a huge influx of newcomers lately, possibly due to Operator Drewski's recent video. I was actually playing last night and one of my biggest struggles was how to handle healing properly, so this is perfect timing. I see you also have a dedicated video on repair so that's next on the docket.
Before watching for the first time your video I started a new game like everyone would, no tutorial as we already played the trilogy and knowing a bit of everything.. but man, this "GAMMA" changed everything. On Easy/Tourist difficulty struggled to maintain my health at top, 1 hit from the dogs and I was almost dead. Lots of saves and plenty of medkits used the wrong way. Also with the guns/armor. Lots of cash spent on some unusefull upgrades or repair materials. I even started cheating with Debug to try myself understanding the basics/formulas in the process 😮💨. After 30-40% progress made in storyline I got frustrated that I used them and that was not cool nor fair. After I saw a video on iron man mode motivated me and started again. New game on Hard/Survivalist, no crosshair, only Toz on my back with no armor chosen, only some meds and aliments, wich later on I didnt even used 20% of them. Becouse of the first run now the game is more understandable and more fluent and if you know how the combat mechanism, how to land a headshot you ready to go. When you think about it.. how much can affect your gameplay the focus on efficiency , how far can you reach without struggling. That's a whole new level everytime, as well as the sentiment of suspense but a relief when you just exited of an anomaly or gunfight alive. Becouse this game does not let you gunsblazin' spray and pray, run and gun kinda action 😂. Thats a game I'll always return and play, forever❣️
Also another tip for efficiency, if the whole body is almost white and only the head part is red, shown at 23:00 you can spare that first aid kit and instead use bandage and then Yadulin. You can use the kit later when you need it the most. Does not make sense to heal 10% body health when it can heal a lot more than that. For reference a first aid kit at Sidorovich costs >3500< while a bandage is 900 or so at the beggining. So with that said, keep using heal items responsibly in order to achieve max benefit and higher capital.✌🏽
15:24 You can get rid of the dizziness effect by taking in food or water or caffeine tablets. So they're very much usable in a fight, granted you got caffeine.
White Heart does "POST-HEALING". That means permanent health recovery. If it has a Red Heart it only does "FIRST AID HEALING". First Aid is temporary health recovery.
at 2:51 what does the 3 little icons mean next to the health mean? the bed,fork/knife, and water bottle? do those icons mean youre sleepy, hungry, and thirsty im assuming?
This is really weird I replied to this but it does not seem to have gone through sorry about that. Not sure on length of sleeping time making a difference. I need to do some testing on it in the latest version in case something has changed in terms of the healing while sleeping.
At the very end of your video, you can see your main health starts to just randomly drain away. What is causing that, and how do you stop it? I keep having the problem of my main health just wasting away for no discernible reason - I can use first aid to heal, but it just drains away and I die, and nothing seems to be wrong with me. It seems like that was starting to happen to you as well starting at 21:00.
I became thirsty at that point so my health started to drain. I was also hungry which may or may not have a similar effect, I forget. :) But remember to keep on top of your other needs like sleep etc
Basically yes, first aid first = yellow then post heal = white (first aid is timed and reduces over time though so you have to do a post heal quickly).
i have been playing for 3 days, died for 2 days straight and today i got a run that i completed 7 quests and have a good amount of meds and ammo to continue to play, now im going to try get to some of the stashes marked in the map from these 7 quests hope i get some good loot Prayge

I would love to see an actual Stalker game, but with a huge, open-world, like DayZ. I think the DayZ formula would be a great fit for an official Stalker survival/pvp game.
Great video thank you! Maybe I missed it, but how do you know if you have an active bleed? There have been a handful of time where I constantly lose health but have no indication if it’s a bleed or some other effect. Thank you!
Yeah its hard when you first start out, sorry if anything's changed I know Grok keeps altering bits with new mods etc. But I will revisit all these when he puts out version 1.0
Great guide but i didnt hear anything about what the symbol next to the bed icon means. That icon is always on my screen makin me lose health and i couldnt figure it out from this guide alone.
I have an odd issue... I just did a big crafting session and ended up with an exosuit (not exoskeleton). I thought maybe this was causing the problem but it's there when removed as well. Basically my stamina bar is stuck about 2/3 empty. It can get lower but it can't get higher. I'm not tired, hungry, or thirsty. I don't have any artefacts equipped. Using medicines doesn't seem to help. Edit: AH. It was a bug. Fixed by reloading a save.
When i use a tier 1 first aid kit, it says it does 3/sec over 34 seconds right, but it only actually ever heals about 75%. is this intended or is my game messed up?
The 3/34s is the main health pool that is healed. Though I am unsure how accurate that is. It only does a flat amount for limbs (designated by how many yellow dots are next to them in the description) if that's what you are referring to it likely does not first aid heal them fully.
@@Sleazy.e hmm the basic one should heal it full IF it's not almost empty. I forget off the top of my head what your main health pool actually is numbers wise.
About campfires... I might be mistaken but I don't think campfires heal you in 0.9 However, what people might be thinking of is the artefact that makes it so that the campfire DOES heal you.
You can cheese money by save scumming the blackjack game. I'm telling you this for the new medical thing. If you use it in a real game, you're going to have a lot less fun overall.
Thank you, great healing guide! I am not familiar with how to fast travel in GAMMA, which keyboard commands to use etc.. Would you be able to put up a video on this or simply respond to my question?
Fast travel is via NPCs and you have to pay them to take you places (not cheap). These NPCs are only in certain bases around the map, I don't have a list or anything but its worth having a chat to the NPCs especially in bars. There was an option to enable somewhere traveling between your stashes which had a long cooldown. I dont recall off the top of my head how it worked but it related to being able to see your own placed/created stash on the map (not the preexisting boxes). But unless they changed something drastically it's not like skyrim where you can just go from settlement to settlement etc. :)
Ooo interesting I have never tried. Might have to give that a go! I never played Anomaly so its almost impossible for me to tell where all the differences are.
Hmm I have not used multiple in a row of late, I don't recall it being an issue when I played months ago. Did it literally just stop working for you? Or since you got the latest version?
If you followed the guide and used the correct type of items in the order stipulated (first aid then post heal) it could be a bug. I suggest seeking help on the official discord.
Again excellent video, completely cleared up my issues! Still not convinced you aren't Khaine from Darkness Falls though lol. Love the videos so much :)
Still having an issue where I am slowly losing health.. I'm not irradiated, I'm not hungry or thirsty, I don't have any status effects? Just got done with the proving grounds quest....
Unsure, if you aren't bleeding, all your limbs are healed, you aren't tired/hungry/thirsty and you are not throwing yourself into anomalies then its odd. If it does not resolve seek assistance on the official discord. Usually there is a cause but I am tired and could be forgetting something.
I slept and I am still "too exhausted to move" with hardly anything in my inven even after taking caffeine pills...any tips on how to avoid or remove exhaustion?
You know I am honestly not sure, not been in that in that situation, I do wonder if you might be bugged? I suggest hitting up the official discord and asking there.
This system is incredibly bad, the main problem is that if you just started new game there is no way for you to heal, so basically for the first few days you need to "pray" that nothing will damage you too much which is a complete nonsense, they should provide some small passive limb damage heal (maby at campfires ?) so that people have some way to heal themselves when they just started new game.
Grok made GAMMA to be very brutal and has made it increasingly so. He removed a lot of the early good rewards for quests I had in my older guides to make it harder. Technically your limbs "should" heal somewhat when you sleep unless he removed that too! (Had a quick glance at the discord people still seem to think it heals limbs). The only choice is to play on lower difficulty or perhaps check the official discord to see if there are other mods/options so you can make this part of the game easier.
@@Bandanner that difficulty increase works really well in some places and falls flat in others which is inevitable, overall the mod is great but besides healing here are some things I found more “annoying” than difficult, because it’s random what weapons npcs carry and what components have sufficient durability to be used/repaired sometimes you have to “wait” for unnecessarily long time to “upgrade” your arsenal, the stash loot is clearly changed in gamma and again rng can mess you up badly because without basic tool set you can’t replace core components of weapons and this wastes your time as player by again “making you wait” for a rng roll, same goes for getting new armor, another annoying thing is that wp/nato traders differential doesn’t seem to work properly, I play as military and for some reason they don’t sell 5,45 caliber…which is a main rifle caliber for wp weapons, but they do sell .45 ? LoL what ? XD clearly some kind of mistake was made, no idea about other factions for now
Hardest part of GAMMA so far is that if you don't spend a lot of your early money on bandages you are fucked. You face packs of dogs that cause you to bleed almost 90% of the time on each bite. Really wish bandages were something you could craft early on using cloth and other items you find in the world.
If you feel you can risk it hold off using a bandage till you kill off a few dogs. Bleeding should not kill you instantly, I always have the temptation to use them as soon as the bleeding starts and have to remind myself to wait and use it either after a few kills or at the end of the fight.
@@Bandanner Thanks for suggestions. Yes I have been insta using them and just noticed last night that was not ideal as bleed isn't as fast as I thought. Also have been cheesing the dogs by getting on cars so they can't bite me. Not so bad now, if I can make it to some ecologists I can sell a good amount of anomalies and have enough to buy a lot of meds.
Other than time I am not 100% sure, saw someone say listening to the PDA radio can help. Sadly the only times I have lost enough psy health to notice was when it insta killed me. I think there are also some artefacts that do it. I shall investigate further tomorrow.
Another great video thank you. Still dont understand white and red hearts, red heals for a short time then goes back to where it was originally? and white heals and stays healed? is this same for Escape from pirptat?
The hearts are a bit of a general guide as the reality is some items do multiple things, but generally speaking yes that is correct. Look at the details tabs of the items, this is the best way to understand them, if it says FIRST AID (with lots of yellow dots etc) then it only adds a yellow temp heal to your "limbs". If it says Post Heal then it turns the yellow heal white and that's permanent. All item types might heal your main health pool but it will stipulate that in the details tab.
I mean I am not sure why you are wobbling? Other status effects? hows your psy health?are you tired, did the item you used to heal make you dizzy? If none of the above are a factor it could be a bug. If so check over on the official discord they might have some advice.
If following the guide here is not helping I suggest heading over to the official discord you will get a faster response :) You could try paying a medic but beyond that its possible its a bug or they changed something I have not yet encountered.
I might depend on how damaged they are, are they a lot more damaged than the other limbs? To be perfectly honest I think Grok changed healing a bit. It doesn't always seem to work how it used to looking at recent reports.
@Bandanner they were certainly beat up. The sleep healing seems to be working now so I think it was either a momentary bug or I was missing something. Thank you for your reply!
If things are not happening the same way its shown in this video, then it may be bugged please seek assistance on the official discord. :) You might try also getting healed by a medic and see if that works at all too.
I think if I remember correctly, if they are on the floor like that you can probably talk to them and give them a med kit if you have one, obviously it means using your expensive med kits up. Not sure if you get any reward for it though. You can actually also give them to enemy npcs too.
Yes as noted by Life is fun if you are limping its because you are still damaged. I am unsure why nothing is healing your legs Claw, a first aid item should heal them yellow then a post heal should give permanent heal. A tourniquet is a good choice as it fully first aid heals arms and legs as again noted by Life Is Fun, then you need to use post heal that also covers to make that permanent. It should play out the same as in the video, just well for more of the bar being missing.
@@Bandanner I ended up figuring it out after I posted this. Strange modpack. I also figured out I can't sell weapons to traders. Is it possible to add attachments to armor like steel or ceramic plates? Or the camel hydration packs? Cause I found them but can't figure out how to attach them.
I am afraid I do not have the latest version of the modpack to test it yet myself, as I noted in my older version it does not work.. I have just been going off what others have said on the official discord. If no one else can describe exactly how it works the best place to seek help is the official discord. :)
Nice video, thanks a lot! I was curious what would happen if you don't heal your limbs. From the mods description on ModDB: Damaged arm/arms: Adding weapon sway, power of sway depends on weapon's weight and how damaged your arms are. Damaged leg/legs: Movement speed reduction based on legs damage, Health reduction while sprinting Damaged Head: Concussion when you receive headshot, Rare and light visuals afterwards which decrease its power over time. Head will heal itself over time Damaged Torso: Cap of main health depends on how damaged the torso is (down to 65% cap).

However, what people might be thinking of is the artefact that makes it so that the campfire DOES heal you.
It used to heal you back then, but Grok keeps changing things so its possible that no longer works.
Helpful video, thanks!
You can cheese money by save scumming the blackjack game. I'm telling you this for the new medical thing. If you use it in a real game, you're going to have a lot less fun overall.
Does sleeping no longer heal?
Only body parts now aka your limbs, not the main health pool it seems, sadly.
I would rather pay 20 dollars for a stable game that just works when you click play
Thank you help me alot.
Happy to help
All the love ignore the haters
Caffeine mitigates Yadulin dizziness in vanilla Anomaly, but I haven't tried this in GAMMA yet (just started playing).
Ooo interesting I have never tried. Might have to give that a go!
I never played Anomaly so its almost impossible for me to tell where all the differences are.
Tried it, works in GAMMA as well.
@@rosvopaisti Superb thanks for checking :)
cute dog nice guide
Thank you! 😊
Nice video! Please consider making a weapon/armor repair video too
He already did 🤔

Can anyone tell me, why its doesnt show me these icons when i heal myself or i need to drink or eat?
No idea why they aren't showing up, I suggest asking over on the official GAMMA discord, they might have more idea.
@@Bandanner i've fixed it, just simply go to settings, visual and turn the hud on.
@@jurek798 The more important question is how did you turn it off? haha
@@Bandanner have no idea XDDD
Is there a limit to how often you can use post healing items? It used to work just fine but just stopped working for me.
Hmm I have not used multiple in a row of late, I don't recall it being an issue when I played months ago.
Did it literally just stop working for you? Or since you got the latest version?
i used 2 bandages, healing pills, 2 red med kits, and 1 army medkit. still has broken arms
If you followed the guide and used the correct type of items in the order stipulated (first aid then post heal) it could be a bug. I suggest seeking help on the official discord.
Playthrough of gamma mod upcoming :D?
if you fail to install this game you better stay away from it anyways :)
Usually there is a cause but I am tired and could be forgetting something.
someone please tell me what the little bottle symbol is
The "T" at the end of, "tourniquet" is not silent. It is pronounced, "Tor-nih-ket".
You are incorrect, I am British and in our version English it is pronounced Tor-ni-kay (How do I know this? I'm a trained medical doctor).
@@Bandanner I figured it out! I was indeed over my carry cap just slightly, my mistake lol thanks
@@therealmess6658 Glad you worked it out, yeah its not very forgiving the carry cap :)
If I never played stalker, which one is recommended anomaly or gamma ?
I have never played standard anomaly BUT either way you will experience a significant learning curve so really its up to you.
I have a question. My psy bar is at 1 HP. How can I heal my psychic
Other than time I am not 100% sure, saw someone say listening to the PDA radio can help. Sadly the only times I have lost enough psy health to notice was when it insta killed me.
I think there are also some artefacts that do it.
I shall investigate further tomorrow.
THANKS, i still dont understand the limb system
You will get there! :)
@@Bandanner i just did lol, thanks for the video and the beginners guide
Why when I use first aid kits it shows resto on my limbs but it never stays.
Never mind I see now.
very helpfull, thanks a lot
You're welcome!
idk if you mentioned it but i healed completely yet im still wobbling all over idk how to stop it
I mean I am not sure why you are wobbling? Other status effects? hows your psy health?are you tired, did the item you used to heal make you dizzy?
If none of the above are a factor it could be a bug. If so check over on the official discord they might have some advice.
@@Bandanner idk maybe its cuz i chugged two bottles of vodka lol
@@brenxbux Well that would do it haha!
My leg is fully damaged but nothing heals it
If following the guide here is not helping I suggest heading over to the official discord you will get a faster response :)
You could try paying a medic but beyond that its possible its a bug or they changed something I have not yet encountered.
how can I notice that I‘m bleeding?
The red around the edges of the screen I go over this in the FAQ #1 video. :)
When I sleep, all of my limbs heal except for my legs. Does anyone know why that might be?
I might depend on how damaged they are, are they a lot more damaged than the other limbs?
To be perfectly honest I think Grok changed healing a bit. It doesn't always seem to work how it used to looking at recent reports.
@Bandanner they were certainly beat up. The sleep healing seems to be working now so I think it was either a momentary bug or I was missing something. Thank you for your reply!
@@boomdaddymaxwell No worries glad it resolved itself! 😅
Eyyyy thanks big man
No problem :)
I feel like my game is bugged somehow - I use the first aid kit followed by a yadulin and still my limbs arent healing up :( any idea why?
If things are not happening the same way its shown in this video, then it may be bugged please seek assistance on the official discord. :)
You might try also getting healed by a medic and see if that works at all too.
@@Bandanner weird thing is I restarted the game and now its working fine :)
@@shieldyourselfmusic8567 If in doubt turn it off and on again :D
helped a lot thank you
Glad it helped
Can you make more tutorials on this game or make a let’s play or somthint like that?
Is it possible to help friendly npcs who are on the ground "bleeding out"? This clear sky dude was begging me to help him...didnt know how
I think if I remember correctly, if they are on the floor like that you can probably talk to them and give them a med kit if you have one, obviously it means using your expensive med kits up.
Not sure if you get any reward for it though.
You can actually also give them to enemy npcs too.
I highly recommend just turning on easy healing in the medical balance scripts. The healing system get old to me very fast.
What does the setting change?
I healed my legs halfway and It still hurts me when I run, do I have to heal them all the way or do I have to get a splint or something?
I'm confused over this as well cause nothing heals mine. I don't see any splints on any first aid item.
you need to heal all the way, use tournequit or adrenaline lookin epipens and then take yadulin or ibuprofen
@@clawwill34 you need an armor that had attachments, and then just double click on the plates, camelback. They act just like artifacts
Hey when I crouch by a campfire, my main health pool does not heal. Am I missing something?
I am afraid I do not have the latest version of the modpack to test it yet myself, as I noted in my older version it does not work..
I have just been going off what others have said on the official discord. If no one else can describe exactly how it works the best place to seek help is the official discord. :)
@@Bandanner okay! thank you for the awesome videos on this btw. I love the repair and beginner guides. They have been a huge help.
You may simply stand near a bonfire to heal in latest version
Nice video, thanks a lot! I was curious what would happen if you don't heal your limbs. From the mods description on ModDB:
Damaged arm/arms: Adding weapon sway, power of sway depends on weapon's weight and how damaged your arms are.
Damaged leg/legs: Movement speed reduction based on legs damage, Health reduction while sprinting
Damaged Head: Concussion when you receive headshot, Rare and light visuals afterwards which decrease its power over time. Head will heal itself over time
Damaged Torso: Cap of main health depends on how damaged the torso is (down to 65% cap).
The limping is quite annoying ;)
