Hot take about the workshops. If you give a technician three sets of tools, he will let you use his workshop for free and can use the toolboxes you gave him
@@nullmoxy Not only that but it's specifically faster to get 12 wood and 12 metal scraps than it is to farm up 3 of any given repair kit. You can do it day 1.
In Gamma v.09 (latest as of today), you can drag your cheap grooming kit over the ammo in your inventory and it will disassemble them "for free", without degrading your tools condition. The drawback is you cannot mass disassemble this way, it will disassemble mag per mag. Also for weapon parts under 60%, it is actually possible to repair them with the "Part repair kit" that is quite expensive, over 60k in Survivalist. But if you find your dream weapon early/mid game and you got the cash, it is possible to repair its damaged parts as long as they are over 10%. The weapon would still need to have a barrel over 60% condition though.
Another tip, start fanatics missions to get him as a companion, do the first quest and never turn it in, fanatic is a specail npc like wolf&hip and has increased armor and health. He also carries a ak74u to start. Fanatic+ 2; randoms can Carry you until you can get better gear, and recruit hip. I know companiond can be a pain sometimes but its awesome having an extra 90 kilos of carry weight. You could afford to carry camping gear and sprnd long trips away from base hunting artefacts ir mutants.
In the newer GAMMA versions, any weapon part above 10% can be repaired for ~9000-12000 roubles through the weapon repair kit, which means you should save any rare parts that are above 10%.
I know this an old vid but in case it helps: There is a task tab in your PDA, it will show available quests nearby that you can accept without having to go find the stalker who has them! Blew my mind😂
Amazing video! Would love a part 2. Can you make a video on tips above the great line? Aka all cities above army warehouse. Tips like what to do, where to get good loot. Etc. Thanks!
Well, the part below 60% durability still fixable but it wasn't cheap at all! Cost about 30k plus so just sell them to trader. But if you found a high tier gun that still has a functional barrel, you can still find part in trader to switch or just pull the part and use the part fixer. It's worth it! But if the part below 10% just throw it and save them for future use
@@RFX91 there's an Item called Part repair kit on the lv2 mechanic trader. It wasn't cheap and it's not worth it, you can find the part in the other mechanic trader for cheaper price
While it is true that selling mutant parts to butcher will get you the most money for them, I think holding onto all the parts you get for quests is better as it usually pays more and has a chance to give stashes.
Excellent tips there, especially the workshop. However, I've strewn around various backpacks in my lair before having enough to build the workhop - any idea how I can pick them up off the floor? It used to be done by doing a Take All but that doesn't seem to work anymore. Thanks!
My random tip is to that you can dodge the attacks of certain early mutants which is handy to give you time to unjam the gun you've not fully fixed up yet lol. There's this window where I needed another gun but it wasn't entirely there yet
Another tip, when coming back from great swamps, have companions set to ignore combay and sneak, then you can move down and keep to the left, you can then duck under the fallen tree and from there you are free to run all the way back to rookie village, evenbif thr military alerts they are too far away to hurt you.
For the military checkpoint south of Rookie village my method is to just find a mosin or SKS and put a PU scope on it, then snipe all the army guys as they walk/poke out to shoot at you, they mostly use rifle so at a distance you have the advantage to just pop their head, both the mosin and SKS use a big round so it should only take at most two headshots to down them, clearing the base give you a bunh of AKs, Ash-12, AN-94 and decent armor for early game, not to mention helmet with gasmask which is very good imo cause loner start out with only the basic respirator.
You give an awesome tip here, i roam around so many stalker utuber but it is the first from a long time have a video that have so many thing i dont know yet. Subcribed immidietly ! about part under 60%, it is sure no way to repair it. but if i put it in a gun and use maintain -> maintain that part will work ? because some part is hard to find
Thanks for the compliments, I did make a mistake with the parts tip. You can repair them using the corresponding weapon repair kit regardless of durability. Also, you can use a Universal part repair kit to repair parts with as little as 10% durability. So if it is a rare part or for a high tier weapon, it is probably worth keeping no matter the durability.
@@nullmoxy yes sure, i log in game and test it right after and it is true. Weapon repair kit can repair any part in any condition in the gun with maintain option - but it cost 1 tick of the kit.
Trader levels are not exclusive to gamma, they are in stalker anomaly. Higher trader level means the trader will stock more items. Trader level is dependent on goodwill. 500 goodwill: trader level 2 1000: lvl 3 1500: lvl 4 2000: lvl 5

Need help, so it seems my companion s have guns they use that i cant pull from their inventory, but when they are dead i can see them, they are contantly unjamming their broken guns and wont use the guns i give them, Does anyone know how to fix this?
As I've found out, workbenches are useless. I've disabled weight limit for containers so weight is not a problem, and you can open the workbench inside your inventory by right-clicking on any toolkit (tools, ammo toolkit, medication toolkit).
They are useful as when you enter the crafting menu in the workbench, you can use all the items in the workbench. This means you don't have to search through your stash for specific items.
@@Nasa1001 first of all, disabling weight limit is not a cheat - it's a game preference. Also, the more stuff you have inside of your bench, the more time it takes to open it.

True, but it does take a while to gather all of the tools, especially expert tools.
I do that for my main mechanic, especially after I get two.
