I just subscribed to your other channel, I always enjoy watching your reviews of products! Thank you for the time and effort you put into the production of these videos. I would recommend that you invest in a wireless lapel microphone to remove echos and improve the audio. (Just a friendly suggestion).
Well done, how many of these products are basically retail off the shelf items and how about testing what the pro guys use, like say car pro or nova jet / luster for example or better still car pro hydro2 as a base line and then do the tests, after all they are all fairly new to the market as far as SIO2 spray on's? Keep up the great work, also i believe that turtle wax has a new spray ceramic sealant as well, like meguiars blue bottle. :) Which apex Detailing has tested and so far i am impressed with it, but in all fairness ,most people do not use a IPA wipe down to remove any existing wax sealants or do a complete decon and remove any sealants or wax's on the car, thus they will buy IMHO to best lasting or ease of application with a good wash of the car and then apply the products. :)
Love this channel so much can't get enough of it I love just soaking up all this free top class knowledge I really appreciate how much effort you put in to your videos you really do make the best detailing content on RUclips 100% without a doubt
Really appreciate your dedication to deliver an unbiased review of each product. Many of your colleages in the world of professional car detailing unfortunately just promote products from specific brands under the guise of objective reviews when it's so evident that they depend on monetary support from the Industry, even if there's no formal agreement. Keep up the great work, Jon.
This video woke me up at midnight when my laptop decided to just randomly start playing your video (whilst on sleep and closed). I've got to watch it now.
For my car(Hyundai Tucson) i’m using Nanotech SST. After i wash the car, i just apply the Nanotech and for several weeks the car is protected. Ultra hydrophobic and easy to apply. Good video guys 🤙
I started using Tac Systems Shinee Wax after watching this video. Fantastic product and results! I would not have tried this product if not for this video. Thank you for sharing this information. These videos are truly helpful.
Hi Jon, I just wanted to thank you for your “detailed” work! I have been watching your channel since the pandemic started, subscribed recently and have enjoyed it thoroughly. This is my first comment on RUclips, ever. Hooray! All the best from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Hey man. I've been watching on / off for quite a while now (love the vids). I just wanted to say thank you, for not only taking the time for these tests but having the foresight to share. Absolute legend!
Great results and testing Jon, well done to those top 3. I do think that testing wax based detailers, ceramic detailers and gloss enhancing detailers together will always show strengths and weaknesses in different ways as each are formulated using different materials for end results. Based on the video, ceramic and wax based will come up top as they have very high hydrophobic properties, and slickness. Basic detailers as they have always been, are mainly about gloss and care of removal of dust etc as the design of detailer sprays are to use to gloss up paintwork after a wash and dry or during show events. Maybe a categorised test would be brill??? But again well done to all brands for making the top ten
Blimey, it's been up 20 mins and most of the comments are "why isn't there any BSD". Whilst it might be an omission I'd like to say thank you John to putting this content together and doing the hard work for us; this isn't a quick thing to pull together and you've clearly put in a lot of effort to conduct the testing. Now you've got to do it all again with the winner against BSD 😂🖕🙄
Yeah, amazing how many drone zombies comment the same thing right after the last same comment. In this comment section, instead of "brains...brains...brains" they drone on "BSD...BSD...BSD"
Ive had BSD in about 5 other detail spray comparisons on the channel. Its a product ive been talking about since day 1. its not here in this video simply because Ive run out of things to say about it. But lots of peeps have not seen all the content. Its like if I did a wax comparison there would be lots of comments about "no fusso" its all good though :)
Bouncers did well considering how long it's been around and the increase in technology since it came out. It's been my favourite since you first reviewed it all those years ago.
Fantastic comparison video as always, Jon! Although it didn’t score very highly - I’m a huge fan of AG Prizm. It’s one of my all time favourites. That’s the fun of the game I guess! Everyone has different preferences and may experience different things👍🏻
jon a good test to add to these QD shootouts could be the following: washing a panel...rinsing it....but not fully drying it...purposely simulating water marks and some light soap marks that the rinse misssed.....how good can these products tidy up that panel of dried water and some dried rinse shampoo.......this is the main reason i reach for my QD after weekly maintence because i always get dried water drips in the same spots.
I love the Shinee Wax. Makes my white Tacoma POP with gloss. Great stuff. I got lucky and bought their newer version before they stopped selling it here in the USA.
Fantastic vid Jon thanks for taking the time to test them. I love the Tac systems and get great durability between applications, 4 wks and still strong. I have also found that on the wife’s red mini it deepens the colour too, easy to see where it’s applied and not. 😉
He couldn’t put it in otherwise would just be an unfair test, these other detail sprays need a chance don’t they? Aha and he talks about price, sonax is 7.99 for 750ml, and I Gary tee it blows all these out the water apart from on slickness, it’s a MONSTER product
The clue is kind of in the name.... sonax brilliant shine detailer.... 😂 wouldn’t really matter if it wasn’t, doesn’t seem like he was exclusively comparing “quick detailer” anyway, he’s got a few spray waxes in there, ceramic detailers, gloss enhancers etc If you read the bottle they definitely market it as a detail spray, but they do say it adds water beading protection
I'm a Sonax BSD user but tried the Tac Systems offering on the back of this review. The BSD beads for longer and gives 98% of the shine for a fraction of the price. I think the Tac gives a bit more gloss and does feel slicker but the fact it doesn't bead as long as the BSD for more money means I'll be going back to Sonax.
I actually have just used Garage Therapy Sigma back to back with Megs hybrid ceramic detailer. Sigma in my opinion smashes it in every way. Ease of application and slickness. John try Sigma.
Woild be nice to see autofinesse finale, i really like autofinesse i know alot of people dont but theyre very good proucts and i think they should be included in these shootouts mote often
Great video Jon. Been using the Tac systems for a few months now and agree with you that this stuff is brilliant. I use it as a drying aid with 2 or 3 squirts on each panel. Leaves the paintwork super glossy and lasts for ages.
Love these product shootouts! I think Done & Dusted well deserved it's top 2 ranking. I am not surprised it scores top for gloss. I was surprised you found regular DD more slick than DDsi, to the touch I find DDsi very slick. Also I cannot imagine a product could be easier to use than either in their genre, I wasn't expecting you to rank DDsi so poorly there. Although I suspect a given the very easiest to apply were the non-SiO2 products.
I seem to recall buying DDsi based on a recommendation from this channel as it was the best, now it's way down the list. I agree with you that I find DDsi incredibly easy to apply and leaves the car like silk so am also surprised where it ended up on the list. Granted I've not used the higher rated products, if they really are better then they must be amazing!
Wax Planet Expression has been my quick detailer of choice for a while now. £27 for 5 litres so a great value bulk buy. Have to say though I'm tempted to give Tac Shinee wax a try. Thanks for the test Jon. Great work as usual👍
Taking advantage of this cooler Hurricane weather in South Florida to polish my car. Hopefully the humidity drops a bit more so I can put down Car pro cquarts uk 3.0. !!
Great video John. The result of a lot of work. My only gripe is I would like to have seen BSD. We all know it's essentially a spray sealant but it's marketed as a QD. I still rate it extremely highly for beading, looks and durability and it's insane value when mixed 1:1 with water ... which improves it's ease of use but doesn't seem to compromise longevity.
@@dimmacommunication It works really nicely - much easier to use and still lasts for more than 3 months. Alternatively, I use it neat on wet car - this also waters it down and is a nice way to dry and shine!
nice research work Jon, much appreciated. Enigma QED is good, but Meg's HCD is excellent overall for me (watched a seagull bomb slide off my Outback), but want to try the new GT Two. I have Done & Dusted SI, but not used it much. TW Hybrid Sealant Wax also good, and cheap. No show from CarPro or Gyeon products??

Superb as always :) I have missed a nice QD after a wash on my cerami-coated car, I am still Britemax Remax as an topper, but wanted something a little bit "ligther" so grabbed a bottle of Megs HCD, and I am very pleased with it. Use it on the non-cearmi-coated car as well with good outcome. Feels like I am stepping more and more away from Sonax BSD to this, mainly due to the grabiness. Cheers from Norway
Good afternoon.Thank you so much for the great video. There is a question - If applied Shinee Wax on top of the Glaze, will it damage the glaze? The description says that it is a water-based Wax .Thanks in advance)
I'd like to see these against the rinseless/waterless watch concentrates diluted to QD ratios like Ultima, Uber, ONR, EcH2O with cost comparison, I don't bother with QD sprays any more.
Great video as always mate. I've been using and experimenting with AG Prizm for some time and there's a few things I've noticed that may be relevant - firstly the hydrophobicity appears to dramatically improve after a 2nd application/top-up. The same applies to the slickness. I was a little disappointed the first time I used it but layering and allowing some time for some form of curing (dispite no mention of this on the label) seems to dramatically improve the performance! I've also found this very friendly to use in the sun (within reason) when applied lightly onto a low-pile towel. Smell great too! Still often reach for the trusty old original £10 bottle of AngelWax QED too, as I find that still performs incredibly well across all areas.
Well spend 14 min of my life Learning a lot And Huge Thank you for your time, recording, spraying, testing and Editing for all of us, can’t say enough Thanks, Splendid job. And great advices at the end 👍🏼 Wondering why was Angel wax not easy to use ?
I talk about this on the backup channel actually. The instructions require it to only be used on a wet car. And thats not what a quick detailer is for really. So its more a drying aid.
I was interested to see how the graphene spray faired against the rest. Would love to see how the very expensive graphene coating compares to a ceramics! Great content as always. It feels like I’ve spent many hours hanging out in your garage lol
I had bought the tac systems shinee wax 2 weeks ago after watching your video saying how much gloss it gave the car and I’m very happy with it , I drove the car in the rain and it looked so clean afterwards I am impressed with it 👍 I am using it on top of megs ceramic wax. One detailer I think you should have tried is megs X press wax it’s very good
just spotted autoexpress put the Farecla G3 above turtle wax, angelwax and meguirs - saying ceramic isnt all that. I guess its down to personal preference.
@@jtks4490. ONR is my rinse less wash l use it all the time. Sorry except in mid winter as it has its limitations. But I have never scratched a car ever in 11 years of using it. Leaves a really nice finish too. Are you a member of Detailing World? Took the whole community by storm Ten years ago. Optimum No Rinse.
@@kinnonmcallister nice. No, not a member of DW. I've heard of ONR just never used it. No reason (now) as I have lots of the WG product left. They're probably similar. WG has lots of lubrication + SIO2. Nice shine, no streaks, quick and easy to get a car done. I use it just like a quick detailer.
Being aprehensive of EZ car care because of the price but their nano labs quick detailer is very good, especially considering the price, would love to see you review the nano labs compound and polish 👌
I have been chasing gloss and slickness for my White BMW X2 for the last 8 months now. Bought GT SIGMA last week and I will never buy any other product again. It's absolutely phenomenal. 👌👏🏴
Love megs HCWQD. Love the full HCW too. This depends on where you live, but availability is a factor. Here in Seattle area, all the Megs pl products are easy to find.
The value per literection is only really valid for UK viewers since you in the US can pick up Meg´s products cheap, while to us in Finland they are, albeit easy to find, really really expensive.
No BSD because it wouldn't be fair to the other contenders, guys! Gotta say that BSD over Fusso and DDsi over BSD (in that order) produces amazing gloss and a rock-solid barrier against contamination. Tested this myself on two daily drivers for over a year.
been using tac shinee for a while! great product. But yes avoid sun/hot panels. it is my go-to detailer together with onitsarse purple glaze which I also find super easy/slick to use
Yah first time using shinee wax where I had some streaking and it just wouldn't go away on my Windows. The hot weather just have had something to do with it. Lesson learned
Done and dusted - incredible shine but for me streaking like crazy! Could be the lumps in my bottle ending up on the paint via the spray head. If anyone has a foolproof tactic on how to use the og done and dusted with no streaking let me know. Pity no Gyeon QD included in the test and based on the comments I need to pick up some Sonax BSD!
gyeon QD is very similiar to the shinee wax. Ive never seen done and dusted go bad and this is the second bottle ive had. but it if you have lumps in it thats not a good sign.
Thanks John for the sheer amount of work you've put into this video! I had a Halfruauds voucher so went down to find any of the top three. They're selling the Meguiars hybrid ceramic at £16 but with 20% off at the till = £12.80. not sure how long the offer will last though.
RDS would do well in this test. Why because its well priced and does everything well. It would not be as durable as shiny wax or the megs product perhaps.. RDS won a detail spray comparison I did a few years back.
Is there a Tyre product shoot out? or is there one in the pipe line?? I had a look through past video's but it didn't jump out at me........ i've been trying a few things recently as i seem to be having to deep clean and reapply every couple of weeks (thats only going to get worse now winter is well on it's way), i started using the Dodo juice tyre wax which has the duration but is very mat (i prefer the satin finish). After a fair bit of reading up i've just ordered a Optimum Opti-Bond sample bottle which is said to last a solid 4 to 6 weeks per application so i will give that a whirl.

just spotted autoexpress put the Farecla G3 above turtle wax, angelwax and meguirs - saying ceramic isnt all that. I guess its down to personal preference.
BSD must be good given it’s mentions everywhere ! My go to QD is CarPro Elixir - but as John mentions it’s price is up there for a QD
I'm surprised there was no Koch Chemie FSE in there Jon! It's the best one so far I've tried on black cars
I really like Tac Shinee Wax as well but how come no Infinity Wax - Rapid Detailer? Great product that also won one of your previous detail shootouts!
Good shout. Great product 👍
@@kinnonmcallister Yes, one of my favorites. Wolfgang SIO2 Waterless Wash is another great one you can use as QD.
Where’s the Bilt Hamber QD? 😟
Being aprehensive of EZ car care because of the price but their nano labs quick detailer is very good, especially considering the price, would love to see you review the nano labs compound and polish 👌
Would you use a Graphene Quick Detailer over a ceramic coating such as Gyeon/Gtechniq, as a maintenance hydrophobic top up?
Would be interested to see where bsd sits against these products
Please test Feynlab detailer v2
TACsystem Shinee Wax gives my white car a gloss-hue that no other detail spray has. 👍🏻
I always say it's hard to go very wrong just using Meguiar's.
i still use megs synthetic X wax for just about every surface on my cars. its fantastically versatile
I think its the same as quick wax almost, but a lot cheaper, thats the one to get for sure.
Y u don’t try the last coat
Is they product worth buying?
Surprised you didn't include Sonax BSD or Zaino Z6?
Fantastic video as usual. Thanks keep it up. 👍🏻
been using tac shinee for a while! great product.
What's the best product for creating high gloss..??
Machine polisher and ultra fine polish
@@ForensicDetailing i ment in a spray bottle...
Hey be good to see you do a product review you EZ car care range? You have done everything else 😄... only asking cos you use them a lot... 😉
What about the cheap and cheerful turtle Wax dry and shine?
its not really a QD, its a spray and rinse drying aid. great product though that blue bottle stuff.
@@ForensicDetailing hey I bought some bilt hamber autofoam but it came in a new bottle? Is this a rebrand or have they also changed the product?
@@blondestreak9772 just updated their bottles mate
Would have liked to have seen a Carpro offering. Either Elixer or Echo2.
You have to try the shine supply range !! 👌
In your opinion how does these stack up against the Infinity Wax Rapid Detailer please?
RDS would do well in this test. Why because its well priced and does everything well. It would not be as durable as shiny wax or the megs product perhaps.. RDS won a detail spray comparison I did a few years back.
Pleased to see Meguiars ceramic detailer in the top ranks especially as only £16 for 760mm.
You should check out the Technicians Choice Ceramic Detail Spray. I'd be curious to hear your opinion on the product.
After a fair bit of reading up i've just ordered a Optimum Opti-Bond sample bottle which is said to last a solid 4 to 6 weeks per application so i will give that a whirl.
coming soon to a cinema near you will be a tyre dressing shootout. Im just starting work on it now
@@ForensicDetailing Sounds good !!
I can never say Smörgåsbord correctly. I also have trouble with 'statistics'.
