- In this tutorial I will be using my Fire HD 8 to demonstrate how to use the Spacedesk app on android as an extra monitor for a PC.

my Spacedesk does not recognize my laptop as my primary, which is the what I want. I want to use my Samsung tablet as the secondary monitor. Any advice to make Spacedesk on my laptop recognize tablet or another pc? Thanks alot!

Hey guys, I need help. So I have an old tablet with dual OS android and windows 10, but it works too slow and bothers me to use it, However, the Display is 4K and it is pretty amazing, I want to be able to connect it to my laptop as a second screen may be via HDMI but I don't know how because USB c to HDMI works in direction Usb C ---> Hdmi but I need to use it HMDI------> USB C, from my laptop to the tablet. I don't want to use the app for android to use it as a wireless screen that's awful, it's so laggy it's pointless. I want to use a cable so the connection is flawless. Please Help me with this :)
Great video, I do have a few questions I hope you can help me with. I want to have a tablet that autostarts with SPacedesk and go directly to a page from my browser. ie the Google Calenar. This would give me a live calendar to see all the time and I could leave the paper calendar that is always behind my Google Calendar. So two things:
Autostart going directly to Spacedesk and a page
- which would eliminate the daily chore of booting it up and going thru the routine
Eliminate the login with my Tablet
The other option is to buy another small monitor and run it thru my Pi, but I like the Spacedesk so far.
So let me know what you think about my idea. I'll send you a photo once I get it working, I already
have two monitors for my daily work

Is it possible to bring apps from the fire/device your using on and use the game on the moniter like i have mc on my tablet but not on my computer is this possible?
If you mean to put the game on the tablet when using it as a monitor you can either drag it across as with any program or go in to the game settings and set it to monitor number 2.
If you want to use the android apps on your computer this will not work and I would recommend looking at bluestscks or something similar.

How can we coustemise font and icon size which are on secondory monitor its hard to see every thing become so small fonts and everything becomes so small atleast it can be detecteble form 2 feets distance any settings to enlarge object sizes on small disply we using
In Windows settings, under the display option you can change the display scaling of each monitor so that text and other content will be larger. Hope this helps

Does the response time of the tablet depends on how fast the internet connection?

It depends on both the speed of your connection and how strong it is where you are using the tablet.

It's just the reverse of dragging to the tablet screen. Hope this helps
umm i have a problem cus it says that i cannot connect to the device
I am in a very mobile situation and need the second screen and the tablet would remain solely as a second screen. I go from home to multiple sites in a day. Can this remain in a connected state without too much hassle reconnecting to new wifi? The sites I use have a unified wifi set up so the devices connect automatically when I start up but I am wondering how much I have to get through each time I open and set up again. I am trying to avoid a $600 Samsung tablet with the second screen feature.
If I remember correctly I think spacedesk only works over you local network. You might have better luck using a remote desktop app instead which should work on a wan. Google Chrome has remote desktop plugin and android app.
When I went to install this on my pc, the website told me that it can cause blue screen of death with windows 10 pc’s with nvidia graphics. Is it still safe or should I find an alternative?
When I made this tutorial I was running an Nvidia gtx 750 ti & it didn't cause mine to blue screen.
how do i get it to not be as squished?
my device (laptop) doesn't show up on the list, and when i fill in the info it can't connect at all

There might be a way for it to work over USB but I don't know for sure.
aaa i have found a way, using "Splashtop xdisplay" (had to DL on laptop & tablet) using USB
but my laptop is bad, so it was pretty laggy

No you have to be on the same network for this to work so can't use it on the go.

You should be able to adjust resolution/scaling options in the windows display settings. All in the settings app on windows 10

...or get a second hand 23 " monitor for around £10-20 lol ... two decent sized screens is better than a tiny fire tablet screen - but this is a great video because I did not even know this was possible, thanks ;)
Whatever works for the layout you have or your preference. One perk of the tablet is you can move it away from your desk or use with a laptop.

The delay is just part of having a wireless display over WiFi unfortunately

EDIT: I just encountered a problem, when I drag a program to the tablet the program won't always "work"
It still works and is useable but the changes aren't visible. It will show changes either when I start dragging it or just put it on my primary monitor. It basically makes it unusable and if you know some options that could fix that I would appreciate it!

You need a monitor to be able to set this up, so no that wouldn't work.
is it free forever or is there a expiry?
At present it's free and I believe there is a premium version with some extra features.
does the tablet uses my pc specs or it uses the adroid processor when i use this?
The tablet acts as a display for your PC. It does not effect the specs of your computer in any other way.

It can be used as any extra monitor, it's the same process. Just that for me it was my second.

You can use space desk as you would to show programs for any other monitor

In Windows display settings you need to set it to extend rather than mirror your display.
I tried this method and while it worked when I selected anything on my tablet it was so so laggy that it was almost impossible to use properly. I've now found out how to connect my computer to my tablet using a USB cable with no lag and full touch-screen capability.

@@Gibbz17 I must admit that although I found out how to do it by watching a YT video, I never actually did it, for two reasons.
1) The tablet is a cheap and cheerful one with a low power processor, which was bundled with a phone - probably to get rid of them.
2) I would have needed to get a HDMI to USB-C cable and with the CPU being low power, I suspected that the performance would not have improved sufficiently to warrant the expense.

Does your computer need Bluetooth?
No my PC does not have bluetooth. This is over a wifi connection.
So, the video should be called "use your android as a SECONDARY monitor"

space desk is not available on google play nor Mozilla
I have just searched the google play store on my fire hd 10 for 'space desk' and it comes up no problem. However it was not available on the amazon app store.
