Really interesting what he had to say about Live Aid and which army the money ended up with.
That was the best and on point like nothing else.

That's what he wants you to believe anyway. Listen to enough interviews with him and you'll see that he contradicts himself a lot. He's still doing the same old shtick that made him famous in the 70s.
I was never a punk fan but I did find the band members interesting

Coming from an Aussie I thought this is one of John Lydon top 5 interviews and 30 years on I carry his views and out look on life.

Strange, Wilkins is a fake pounce and usually Lydon sees straight through them and won't give them the time of day other than raw cynicism, but he seemed reasonable here ...
Maybe he was happy about the shirts!
The Aussie atmosphere seemed to of really chilled him. We’re pretty chill though it’s not a stressful place

Weird how he grew up in a working class area of London to Irish parents, but still sounds kind of posh to my ears. Maybe that's how Londoner's sounded then, they don't anymore...
My Uncle was born and bred in Falkirk Street, London, where Hackney college now sits, a real Cockney London geezer, he had a very different accent to John, I guess different decades had different accents.
@@ScottishTeeVee that's because lydon is from north London not east London. He has the same accent as my uncle from South London but a gooner. But funny Jamie said that because my uncle said he did sound posh when he met him in a boozer.
I wasn't even aware of his Irishness or his working class roots

In my opinion, modern music needs some one like John Lydon. It's all too safe and pandering to get sales. Can't speak for all teens, but it's funny when you show them the music that was in the charts, in the 70's or the 80's, like the Sex Pistols or Bowie or Siouxie and they respond with, "You like this" or "People bought this"?
You do realize that the Sex Pistols were a manufactured boy band, right? Just because they were punks, swearing, saying bad things, doesn't change that fact. They were created for the express purpose of fame and fortune, and it worked. The internet has been a game-changer. Kids don't have their music spoon-fed to them anymore.
@@alukuhito malcolm maclaren assembled (talent scouted?) them, but the Pistols wrote and created their own music. That's not "manufactured" by any stretch. There is simply no comparing Sex Pistols with today's boy bands.

John Lydon, the face of British butter. And now he's a butterball. The universe has a sense of humour.
On top form, Mr. Lydon! And butter. He did blaze a trail for butter in the end.
Wilco, the one trick pony show that embodies every played out nauseam the country has to offer. Even today, you can hear him on radio, crapping on with that same sugar coated, one liner voice, as if his brain belonged to a severely played out script.
LOL well butter wants him!
This interviewer still hosts. Just the entertainment section of the morning news show. Rotten was pretty tame here, he probably really found the Aussie climate refreshing. Rare insight into what it may really be like around him without the snarky act

I've also got it on DVD and a review of the gig somewhere. Hard to believe its almost 30 years ago. It was their only or first British gig in 5 years..
