  • Happy 5 days of 5k! 🎉 In honor of reaching 5k subscribers (yay), for the next 5 days I will be uploading 1 video a day from certain networks and today's network is WNBC. This is a betamax tape from my collection I recently digitized that consists of I believe a lost pilot from the year 1979 called Weekend Jam. I couldn't find any information about the show in old newspapers or record of it existing but it definitely screams 70s and has nostalgic commercials to go along with it. Enjoy and thanks again everyone for supporting my channel! 💕🙂

The week this originally aired, as an episode of "Don Kirschner's Rock Concert", some of us especially wanted to watch it, for being the only time a Klaatu song was aired on American television. Plus it was the only completed animation for a proposed film called "Happy New Year, Planet Earth."

What's up with the clipped music videos? Rod Stewart, Olivia Newton-John and Mike Nesmith had their songs removed, while we got the entirety of The Unknown Comic?! That's a glitch in the Betamax!

"Klay-Two?" Glad to see the rare music video, but I imagine their management was a little annoyed that they pronounced the band's name wrong. Klaatu was once rumored to be The Beatles incognito, but in actuality were a trio of Canadian musicians who had revealed their identities by the time this song was released. The song "A Routine Day" came from their third album "Sir Army Suit" released in 1978.

Copyright is a thing you know. The fact that any footage uploaded is a godsend. I mean when are you ever going to find such a rare segment? So not lame….

A good example of how horrible pop culture was in the 70s. Yes, we had Frampton and Zeppelin but it was 98% this shit. You only had one or two other channels to choose from and there as no way to skip past the ads.
