I personally enjoy extremely long content, it typically means that theres more depth on the topics not just a basic overview.

Self awareness! It took 2 years for me to upload a video after I decided to do videos. After self recording, I realized that when I get excited my voice is too high pitched, or when I pause to think I look dumb. I had to work on it. I still have a lot to work on. It is a process.

If I may: I ran one video beta promotion with RUclips and lo and behold I gained over 2000 subscribers in less than a week. It's like if you don't scratch RUclipss back, they will not scratch yours. I put a limit of $75 for the month by the way. Good luck everyone!

My first couple of videos on my channel were tutorials that build on each other. These videos bring in daily consistant views and subs. These videos get heaps of suggested and browse views. I will continue to share my knowledge and make videos of my build projects along the way.
This archetype fits me so much better… so logical to do but just never crossed my mind, thank you 🙏

Hi Sean, thanks for sharing the Search Based Content strategy. This is what I'm mainly focussed on and I'm already seeing fantastic results from Google & RUclips search in about 6 months. Fully agree with "viral content" & "evergreen content" going hand in hand. 💜

Rarely did I watch your videos. only some bits and pieces reposted by someone else. But man. I love how you put your own personality into the videos. From your belief in jesus to the thing with your dogs and how you try to keep pace made it so funny during the video. Sad story with your dogs. My condolences. However, also funny to see how you are also not perfect and improving still even though you have such a big youtube channel. It shows you are constantly growing, evolving, and you have skin in the game. You are not just talking without applying yourself. Great to see
I'm only 26 minutes into the video, but I see your point reflected in my channel. My browse/suggested videos usually run for about a month before leveling off. My search based videos bring in about 200 views each per month. Even the older ones keep getting views while my other videos seem to die out.

I got 1000 subscribers in one week and 1000 watch hours in 2 weeks because RUclips gave me 230, 000 impressions for a video that had less CTR and retention than my other videos now I get 5000 impressions and minimal growth but still amazing feedback and comments. What decides impressions numbers? I’m doing educational content that people watch little parts of for the information they need. Almost seems like RUclips have stopped showing my content and my channel has a mark against it now.

I'd love to see an ASQ video for filming setup, specifically lighting, when sitting on the floor as in a meditation type scenario. YT is grrbage. 15 years, 500 videos, across 6 channels... never made one single penny off of it.
100% waste of time and zero return on investment on 5,000 plus hours of work.
Probably more like 10,000 hours of work. Figure 10 dollars an hour, that's a 100,000 investment on my part that didn't return a penny.
This platform blows.

agree, if you only copy what everyone else is doing you have 0 unique content -> but as soon as AI-fication of search engines is normal then unique content will be the key for recommendations 👍

Why does the translation of the subtitles, example: from English to German, no longer work in your video? it always worked in your old videos.
4 years is a typical journeyman certificate in most trades - and if you're good you'll break the 100k annual salary working 9-5, 7-3, 6-2 (you get it). But, you're landlocked in your geographic area - if that area experiences significant economic challenges you may be forced to move. You're likely forced into an uncomfortable situation either way and while trades are amazing and necessary. You don't develop the skills to make money anywhere in the world (without significant challenge) and when your hands stop moving, you stop earning. Content creation has residual value creating time multiplication on your effort. In your business, videoing your work allows you to physically see things you would otherwise miss in first person form (improving your skills within your craft) creating another multiplication on your effort in skill development while also improving your videography skills. RUclips is operating around the clock allowing you to earn, while you sleep, while you go on vacation. I still have a lot to learn, about the algorithm and about RUclips and about the direction I'd like to take a channel - that is exactly why I was happy to enroll in your course, even if I don't dig into it right away from pre-existing daily demands. I'm slowly taking it all in... and... I'm extremely grateful you've put in this work. The fact you feel the need to justify your occupation is shocking to me. It's as obvious to me as staring at the Sun, how powerful of a tool RUclips truly is. Side note, interesting how RUclips feeds into Google - which feeds into your knowledge base for SEO optimization allowing level ups in Google ads. Its levels on levels on levels and I'm early in my learning journey. Long time user, beginner at understanding and learning the machine. And what a machine it is! Thank you Sean for openly sharing so much!!

I do search based education for cosmetology. I don’t know if I’m ranking, but I see my search base is bigger than my pushing traffic from my fb personal and business pages. Even w 2k+ followers, I don’t get as many views as you’d think. I think I need to keep praying and be patient. I learn so much from you. Thank you!

About "search based content" I believe it is the same as SEO (Search Engine Optimization) which is basically using keywords. This video for example, tops Google search using "RUclips creators are ignoring" & RUclips search "99% RUclips creators" keyphrases. Google Trends sure would be helpful in finding good keywords.
