I personally have taken to black, Gold/Copper trimmings, white helmets and red cloaks. I like to reflect that these guys are still in mourning, but nothing can stop the black parade now.
Honestly I watch these videos because the players make the full game of 40k so enjoyable to see play out. The games often come down to watching two players cheer as the Dice Decide and genuinely happy for each other as they make hits and saves. Also the high-end production design and skillful voiceovers make tracking the action and battle concepts super easy to follow.

@@QrazyQuarian agreed. If you don't wanna look into the lore than look in to the points cost per unit. Custodes should be a top tier army instead of a golden mid tier bike blob.

Awesome battle report, great work guys. In such a short battle report it can he hard to keep track of what is going on, but the switch to top down camera angle, animations and the narrator commentary really helps it easy to follow everything. The sacrifice of the breacher and Devilfish was a classic life that bought the custodes out into the killing field. I agree with the narrator that putting the bikes in reserve was likely a mistake. When the custodes moved out they needed to move out with everything to overwhelm the Tau and leave something that can charge the main Tau lines.
just wanted to let Nick know that he inspired me to start Farsight Enclave as my first army! So far I'm loving them just as much as I loved to watch this vid! Thanks for the content y'all are doing wonders for the hobby!
I love seeing how far Nick has come since his first Melee Tau game all those years ago. I really love that he hasn't just abandoned that, and has managed to incorporate it into such a formidable army. Always love it!
they also have very special helmets, which I thought was really cool, kinda reminds me a little of the danish frogmen, I wonder if he made the custom helmets or got them from some other units (im not very experienced at all with wh at all, just been looking at it and considering when I have more time/space/money, so I might be wrong)
Watching Nick's Tau in action always brings me immense joy, but Rhino's Custodes looked so fantastic too. This was a great battle and I hope I see Rhino here once more.
Great video, lots of fun. Nick's T'au are really overwhelming now that they have a 9th edition codex! I really, really appreciate the less-than-1-hour format of your video reports. I cannot stand to watch a 3-hour long battle report.
As always, professionally-done with the editing. Always a treat to see some fantastic action. Custodes are criminally-underrated and a rare, but beautiful, sight to behold. Thanks for the game, it cheered up my dreary afternoon.
Absolutely brilliant game, one of my favourite in a while! DrRhino's gorgeous Custodes were in for a nightmare fight from the start to be fair, but Nick was and extremely gentlemanly opponent in deliberately not spending CP to do certain things during the game to make it more interesting. Just generally good sportsmanship all round.
You switched up the names of the stratagems nick, "Pulse onslaught" makes it so that hit rolls of 6 either auto wound or score an additional hit, the stratagem you used in turn 2 is actually called "Relentless fusillade" at least, I think so anyway

Awesome battle report! Love the format. Nick - After 20 long years, thanks for reigniting my passion for 40k and my Tau homeboys. RIP Shas'Kickass Keep it up! 🙂
There's actually several battle reports kinda like that in PlayOns channel. There are several Apocalypse battles that are simply gigantic, with over 8K points on each side. And there's a couple of narrative battles that involve 20K+ points of models. All of them are great fun to watch, and I have seriously considered getting Apocalypse just because of the BR's here. Sadly I don't have any fellow WH40K players within range for all-day-long battles on weekends.
Man my first army was Tau back in 3rd edition I've played (almost every army) on and off since. My last game was 2017. But man play on table top and tau nick has me wanting to play tau again.....
2017 was around the end of 7th edition, I think, right? It's worth noting that tournaments are being won by the top 10 armies in the game now, whereas back then there were only 2 or maybe 3 armies that had legitimate shots at winning tournaments. The balance between competitive armies seems better than ever at the moment, so if that's why you quit in 2017, nows the best time to come back!
One thing that I think could be added for editing was what Ka'tah the Custodes player was in as that one's kind of complex to track if you don't know what you're looking for
The colour scheme of the Custodes is nice! An excellent battle report. Good job everyone! Edit: And nice hoover effect on the Hammerhead, it is wobbling all day long! XD

Nick employed excellent psychological warfare in emphasizing the supposedly unkillable devilfish.
Holy crap he really did
Yeah that was such a clean bait right there
He also told him he was using Mont'ka but set up a classic Kauyon
That's CIA level psy-op.
Oh for sure
