  • "The Optimist is the most versatile overdrive pedal I’ve ever used. Designed to give me a full range of drive levels for punchy rhythm to soaring lead. The Klon has been this mystical and hyped-up circuit for years, and for good reason! It’s an incredible circuit, and the way it pairs with the flat response overdrive is incredible. OD1 has the mid bump Klon circuit that we know and love. OD2 has a flat response overdrive that has an incredible range of drive. When the two of them pair together it creates an even more boosted drive that doesn’t squeal! The final piece of magic is the EQ. Brad Jackson has been trying to convince me about the power of an EQ pedal for a long time, and now I know why. We created an EQ section that focuses on the frequencies that you want more of in single coils, and less of in humbuckers. The EQ can help tone shape your guitars to match each other, or it can help you get the perfect clean tone out of an amp."

Awesome Pedal, just playing with it today and comparing against the Klon and others. Very Good.

UPDATE: In case anyone else has this issue the OD1 Tone control wasn't working - stuck on 0. I opened it up again and found the 'plug in' circuit for OD1 wasn't seated all the way - unplugged and re-seated it and now it works perfectly and sounds great!
I just got one in to try and find OD1 SUPER dark while OD2 is almost like tiny radio speaker bright. I didn't see any trimpots inside. If I run OD2 with tone at 0 and OD1 with tone at max it still sounds muffled and dark if I use them together. I feel like something is wrong here - Klons usually blend in clean at low gain settings allowing that top end through, I can't see any way to use these in a two channel configuration as they are. I can use the EQ to make the stacked sound better, but they still sound miles apart in tone individually, what am I missing here? OD2 sounds paper thin next to OD1. Is the point not to use OD2 by itself? If I use OD2 as a base OD1 just changes the tone way too much, doesn't seem like the order can change either and it seems like the Klon is second.

The sound in this video doesn’t really do the pedal justice, but it’s the best sounding OD I’ve ever owned. It’s very warm and rounded. So much better than the other OD’s I’ve used.

I am deeply impressed by the OD 1. Really Clone Like and one of the best blues Lead Sounds. But I have problems to find a good tone on OD 2. There is a loss of bass and it is so trebly that I have to turn the Tone Knob to zero. Where's my fault? Or it is meant to sound trebly?

Use the EQ; or is this after adjusting it?

I got mine yesterday. Great quality! One minor, there is no rubber pad addded under the pedal. Could've been a nice add on to supply the pedal with few spare rubber pads in the box, so you can fix in case of need.
