Cory has been a big influence on my recent studies! I was never into funk or much other than rock. I heard his grooves and instantly thought i had to learn some of his riffs! Glad I did as he led me into deeper funk rabbit holes and thus learning more styles and getting out of my 20 year rock box. lol Loved hearing you open up with some cool riffs and chick pouncing stuff Michael. Your channel has definitely caused inspiration for me recently and I thank you! Also loving the new upgraded SRV and blues DVD concerts you led us to recently! Love the “does it sound good to you” mindset (no preconceived notions), that’s the way I’ve tried to operate the past couple years and what made me sell all my vintage fender amps for Ampegs!! Sounds killer, been wanting to check one of these out!!
I've always greatly preferred demos recorded with the most basic of audio because it seems like most people add tons of post production to the sound and then it doesn't really winding up being what the pedal truly "sounds" like. When I was getting my Sola Sound Tone Benders there were quite a few vids of it online with the new Boss one and they all sounded like they were made in a pro studio which is fine but I feel that to get the true sound of it you should just hear it unfiltered and raw. I made a few little vids on my channel just plugged straight into an AC30 with a few different guitars just to show what they truly sound like and even some of the guys that made really good "professional" vids of them told me they thought mine sounded good as well and I literally recorded it on a Samsung phone. LOL!
I love the major/subtle changes to the sound when you switched on the OD. I’m a huge fan of playing with slight overdrive for a change in feeling and even more distortion for even more intensity! Would love this and I would suggest to do more gear reviews. Not all the time but once every month for something that has made you feel that you need to share! Thanks 😊

Love the pedal, sounds so good. Got that growl but the EQ rounds it out more than most ODs would, it seems like. Cory is the man. Saw him a few months back in Dallas and he KILLED! That band is tight. I’m taking both his online course and guitargate rn, so cool to have both of y’all teaching!
Great demo! The clean tone from your amp using zero enhancements, playing in your garage (with the door open), and recorded to your iPhone sounded great. That pedal is killer, too

I have a Broken Arrow from Jackson Audio. Gotta say, there’s a lot of function and range built into a fairly small size. The Optimist seems to be right on track with that and would make a great add to any board!

That’s a killer pedal! The first time you turned it on, it immediately sounded like the natural breakup coming from a pushed fender amp. Had all the clarity, silkyness, and bottom end that most drive pedals lack. Thanks for sharing

I would love to have this pedal! After recently getting approved for disability from the VA and being able to focus more on playing, I am building my first pedal board. Up to this point I have only run a Wah pedal on stage (on the rare occasions I ran something). Great sound through that MT 15! Hoping to pick one up soon!

Love the overdrive 2 sound! Still looking to purchase my first electric guitar and am steering away from looking at pedals for a while simply for the cost and plethora of different sounds. But I like that overdrive 2 sound. You don’t lose the guitar in the distortion.
I saw Cory in Nashville a few weeks back. The genuine joy on stage between his musicians was electric. Every member of the band had their opportunity to shine and not an single shred of ego was out there. I’ve been in so many good bands where egos and distractions have been the downfall, admittedly I’m to blame in some cases. All though the banner said Cory wong, it was never about him. I have a whole new outlook after seeing this dude. I was a fan of the music before, now I’m a fan of the person Cory is. (Guitars for kids?! Heck yes!) It makes me so happy to see the success and attention he’s starting to gain for one of the hardest working musicians in the industry. And yes of course i want that pedal if you’re just giving it away! 😂

I saw Cory in Nashville a few weeks back. The genuine joy on stage between his musicians was electric. Every member of the band had their opportunity to shine and not an single shred of ego was out there. I’ve been in so many good bands where egos and distractions have been the downfall, admittedly I’m to blame in some cases. All though the banner said Cory wong, it was never about him. I have a whole new outlook after seeing this dude. I was a fan of the music before, now I’m a fan of the person Cory is. (Guitars for kids?! Heck yes!) It makes me so happy to see the success and attention he’s starting to gain for one of the hardest working musicians in the industry.
And yes of course i want that pedal if you’re just giving it away! 😂
