  • Today we wanted to talk about why identity theft is easier to fix than most people think.
If it's true identity theft with no involvement, benefit, or participation on your part, then you can fix your reports in a few steps.
Make sure to gather as much proof as possible to prove that the accounts on your report aren't yours.
First, you should file a police report.
Then you should fill out a fraud affidavit that you can get from the FTC and send that information to the bureaus and the furnisher of the information.
in 4 days, they should suppress the account on your report, and in 30 days it should be removed from your reports.
9/10 times they will fix your report.
If they don't, that's a great case for us.
Because if they don't fix it, they will have to tell a jury why they refused to correct your reports.
    Thanks for watching!

If you have sent to the collector and credit bureaus and it is legit ID theft and they won't fix, then you need to look at suing. Reach out to me at www.alabamaconsumer.com/contact-us/ and tell me the details and I'll help you find a lawyer.
      Thanks

I have a collection agency that refuses to validate my debt. They simply keep sending me a copy of a final bill from their client. How do I know they are legally authorized to collect this debt?
