No worries, its just someone elses private information that will follow them the rest of their lives! Not us! this way! Necause it sure seems like common sense. Its not likely that someone can steal your identity and open accounts in your name with just your name/address/birthday. Its not quite THAT easy, especially not now in 2021. In the past maybe, but today you need more identification and personal info. However, this info is still valuable as its another few pieces in the puzzle for a thief. Additionally this information can be used to trick you, or someone close to you, into revealing more info, including critical items like Social Security number. @Keystone Financial Academy I have a question somebody said they know my adress and will leak it even if they leak it online will people come in my house? Is it a big problem?
I presume you mean when someone steals your actual physical passport? I don't specifically address this in my video, but it does happen of course. Stolen and forged passports can be used by criminals to enter/exit countries that don't have anything more sophisticated than an "eyeball check" at the border. The best action to take is to report the passport "lost or stolen" by calling the National Passport Information Center at 877-487-2778. You can also go online at travel.state.gov. You will need to file Form DS-64 and Form DS-11 to actually report the loss and apply for a new passport.

Freeze your credit. A freeze will stop all activity on your credit file, and since a credit check is always required, this will stop anyone trying to open a new account using your SSN. To freeze or unfreeze your credit call or go online with all three CRAs. -TransUnion: Call 888-909-8872 or: transunion.com/credit-freeze -Equifax: Call 800-349-9960 or: equifax.com/personal/credit-report-services -Experian: Call 888 397 3742 or: experian.com/freeze/center.html
It's hard to say. Possibly not much without also having your Social Security Number, but I wouldn't take chances. The best advice is to contact all three of the credit bureaus (Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax) and freeze your credit files. That way the thieves can't open any account in your name. Keep the files frozen until you need a creditor to take a look. You can unfreeze for a period of time (a week), and then freeze again. It's really the best advice to protect your credit!
Name and address alone isn't really enough to cause problems. Having a birthdate adds a bit to it, but still not enough. The thief would also need a key piece of info like your Social Security Number. That can potentially cause more problems for you - and this is why you should really guard your SSN. These days it is (thankfully) more difficult to open new accounts, with more pieces of identity verification needed, so if someone just has what you listed (and nothing else) then you're likely ok. The BEST way to protect yourself however is to FREEZE YOUR CREDIT. I describe how to do that extensively in the video and in the the description below it. If your credit is frozen, no one can do anything to it, and the CRAs go through great lengths before they unfreeze it by asking you questions only you would know.
@@KeystoneFinancialAcademy ok good thing, I don't ever carry my SS with me. My parents usually keep it safe. Which is a good thing. I was just scared about giving name birthday and address only

Unlikely. They would still be missing your Social Security Number...BUT, when in doubt, I always recommend freezing your credit! Then, even if your identity is stolen, the thieves can't do anything with the information.
Thanks. In our country, we don't have social security number and fraud can't do any harm with my passport number to my bank account or credit account. There is no connection between our passport number and bank account in our country. I am more worried about whether they can create new bank account or take loan using my passport number and academic documents in foreign countries. As far as I know, they will probably apply for the job with my name and my academic documents.

Identity theft never works! Why? Just imagine if you are a man with a disability! Shall we say you don’t have knees because you have met an accident in the past so it will never work especially when you are stealing from someone whose body is perfectly fine!
Question how much damage can a criminal get with a phone number and name. I got a call and told them my name and then they hanged up. I don’t want to jump to conclusions but I want to make sure nothing escalates if I do end up becoming a victim( hopefully I don’t)
Just with a name and phone number, probably not much. Don't give away your birthday, mother's maiden name, and of course SS number! Those are much worse...

Question please , so my ant was born in USA but left to mexico when she was a kid. Another relative got a hold of her social and born certificate and that person came to USA as an adult and been living in the USA for 45 years now . We recently found out that that person is basically living a normal live, worked got married got driver lisence and basically been living in USA for many years now. My ant wants to go to USA but since the other person has been living there for more than 45 years with her identity what ever happends now. Has my ant lost her identity now or what can she do when the other person basically has a whole entire life now in USA
An Ant?
Seek a lawyer. That probably happens all the time
If that would make it a harsher penalty this would stop. Make it a minimum of 10 years in prison.
How can start a bill to give criminal 10 yrs in prison?
Life in prison. It's someone's life and future they are destroying. And also make it that they don't get any job offers or anything society offers at all.
I agree. Not enough enforcement, and the penalties are insufficient!
First premier bank gave some guy a credit card in my husbands name. All he needed was a piece of stolen mail with my husbands name and address to get this credit card. That’s it. Nothing else.
I've been trying to file an unemployment claim in Kentucky. Everytime I try to make in account it won't let me make one. The security question is not mine at all. What do I do or who do I call? It says my social is already active. Please help me
Same. How has things been so far? Did you fix things you are not alone sister
Go to your local Social Security Administration office in person. Take ID with you to prove who you are, and also a birth certificate and a utility bill with your name and address couldn’t hurt. Good luck
What do I do to report it stolen
Im screwed. Have never had a loan or card in my name (im 30) also haven't filed my tax return in 3 years.. went to check my credit and id has been compromised. Idk what to do
Updates?
Report it and follow the steps on this video. If you get overwhelmed. Play the video. Pause after each step and don’t watch more until you complete one step at a time.
Thank u god is good

My son identity have been robbed I mean
It's so shocking and very stressful my son future is blocked
I owe 11000$ to the IRS my identity was stolen I'm so scared please help!!!
I know by law they never should have opened my mail but, too late now. Do I go to local or state police after freezing my accounts?
Freezing your credit is the number one action to take to protect it. You're right, opening someone else's mail is called Obstruction of Correspondence and is actually a felony if done with malicious intent. You may want to get the police and an attorney involved if you feel that is what happened.

These people are all frustrating ...They are all about get it .... Judgement They Need To get the hell away from me and my information.....
What do somebody using my identity?
What about passport theft
I presume you mean when someone steals your actual physical passport? I don't specifically address this in my video, but it does happen of course. Stolen and forged passports can be used by criminals to enter/exit countries that don't have anything more sophisticated than an "eyeball check" at the border. The best action to take is to report the passport "lost or stolen" by calling the National Passport Information Center at 877-487-2778. You can also go online at travel.state.gov. You will need to file Form DS-64 and Form DS-11 to actually report the loss and apply for a new passport.
Thank you,yes my birthplace was in Turkey for my dad was in the military,it was old n still green not blue n I traveled to various countries,it had his military numbers and in his handwriting but they also had my birth certificate and social security card as well, and my information and childrens for the persons mother did my income taxes as well, two of my grandchildrens social security numbers as well…thank you I tryed to file a complaint on some website but never heard back from them,my father was supposed to left an inheritance for my children and I of which it’s been 2019 when he passed and I’ve heard nothing of it yet
Just found out my cousin opened a caple account in my information
I give this lady a pic of my ID.... so how do I get A next Id
Fell for a phone scam and gave my ssn. What do you advise me to do ?
Freeze your credit. A freeze will stop all activity on your credit file, and since a credit check is always required, this will stop anyone trying to open a new account using your SSN. To freeze or unfreeze your credit call or go online with all three CRAs.

@@jordin.5577 thank you for asking yes I locked all my credits
Hi what would happen if the scammer gets my Name,Address and Date of Birth and have a picture of my ID? Sorry for my bad English.
Somebody stole my husband passport info and removed is picture with a fake picture
Someone stole a lot from me and nobody did anything.
What if a person has my name, address and birthdate? Is that enough information to get identity theft?
I was just scared about giving name birthday and address only
@@KeystoneFinancialAcademy I lost mine and I think someone I hang around with has it or has it down. I’m very anxious I need help. I don’t even wanna be here like cmon.😂
i sent a picture of my driver license front and back. can it cause any trouble. ? he is not from my country.
I just found out someone created a Gmail account in my legal name. I don't know what to do. 😢
Can someone do damage with the photo of my passport and degree certificate?

My state of Massachusetts getting hit with unemployment fraud .
@@KeystoneFinancialAcademy Thanks for the response. Also thanks for Lessing my anxiety 😅
