I came here from your newsletter. While your videos have certainly approved, this really is pretty good for your first RUclips video. Well done and I'm glad you've stayed with it
It's 2023 and I have been watching you for a long time and it's always inspiring. Great to see you back to your first video after 8 years of uploading. Your inspiration is your consistency. Hope one day I will be lucky enough to go on tour with you 😅. It's beautiful through your lens..
Thomas, we can appreciate the work and care you've put into your videos over the years and the joy that results. A pretty good message for the rest of us. Thanks for that.
Found it, I think the beginning of your channel, really interesting to see how you started out, the piece in the car was brilliant, how technology has moved on. Loving the book to.
Just had to go back 10 years having just watched this weeks video. First want to congratulate you on your first 10 years. I lived in the Uk and miss it dearly and your content each weeks brings me back there and I throughly enjoy my Thursday morning with you as I now live back in the US. I have been with you now some 5 years, but I still enjoy each week. Thanks Tom and please keep snapping! Here’s to another 10! 🍻🍻🍻
Thanks for sharing this in your newsletter. It was really enjoyable to watch. Thanks for educating and entertaining us for all these years Thomas. It is really appreciated. Take care fella.
Who else is here after watching Thomas' latest video (3 Apr 2019) ? I had to come and see for myself. Well done Thomas! Chalk and cheese 2019 vs 2014, but every bit as enjoyable as always.
I found this video in your playlists and I see that from the beginning your content is morally clean, healthy, about adventure and photography and that is why watching it is comforting.
It's so unreal looking at your very first video. The way you speak, the way you move, I can see the nervousness. But at the same time I can essentially see the fire in your eyes (corny as hell I know) I can see you feel relief and accomplishment when you finish recording. What a legend.
@Thomas Heaton ... Hey, no "..bye for now" at the end? When did you start doing your ending phrase (glad you didn't keep the one from this video "I'm going home")
There is nothing more amazing than to see on location shoots, you see technique, framing, travel.. all of that in a video, it's incredibly inspiring and motivating, thank you so much! can't wait for your future videos
I was just telling my girlfriend the same thing. I've been along for most of the journey and hadn't really realized his progress until going back and looking at this video. It's amazing what has happened in the last 3 years.
these are the types of landscape photography videos i've been searching for! well explained, nicely filmed and above all super images. good job, love these vids
I love that walk upto Sprinkling Tarn via Stockley Bridge and then straight up to the foot of Great End (before turning right at the top) which takes in some stunning mini waterfalls along the way.
Guess who's just begun another marathon of your videos.... yes, that's right.... me 🤣. I've done it several times before as well as keeping up with and enjoying your latest videos as they're released. Seriously appreciate your hard work and content, Tom. Inspirational.
I decided to scroll right down to your very first video and boy... what a progress and change to what you are doing now (of course). You've gone from Canon to Nikon to Hasselblad. The video shaking in the car has greatly improved and your voice has changed too 😎😎😎But your photos then and now are still great and cool. Love it.
I loved thenewsletter I had never seen your very first video, its wonderful. Congrats on your 10 years. And very inspiring to read your newsletter, loved it.
Thom I followed you since your channel was small and I always enjoyed your content so much. Now I'm re-watching this after I just published my first vlog! You've been one of the people that inspired me to start doing this so I just wanted to thank you for just being you! Keep up with the great work!
Just saw your first video. The presentation has improved a lot. Your explanations have not wavered. Thank you for all you kind encouragements to beginners like myself. If I have learned anything from you, it"s to keep trying. The photos I want will come.
HI Thomas. I just finished watching your latest video (August 2, 2017) and followed the link back to see where your RUclips work began. So glad you continued production videos! You've come a long way and I look forward to every one! Nice work!
I've been going up to Sprinkling Tarn, Great End and Great Gable for over fifty years now Tom thanks for taking me back! Its great to see where you started out on your youtube channel as this area is so inspirational! Hope you've got some images from here in your book which hopefully I'll receive next month here in Perth WA cant wait for it to arrive. Regards Carl
2020 , I've just checked when did i start watching your videos and i hade miss none! makes me remember my own start with a dslr and going out exploring nature ! you help alot ican say that ! ... keep the good work you made a big step too!!
I've just discovered your channel and have subscribed to both your blog and RUclips channel. Thank you for being so specific about your planning, equipment choices, and technique. This is very helpful for folks like me who are learning. I'll add that your images are a powerful motivator to make me want to visit the UK!!
Hello from Australia Thomas! I've just watched all of your video's, can't get enough of them!!! Please keep them coming. Very well put together, very inspiring. You have me hanging for my next trip. Subscribed.
So this is the first one. Slowly making my way through your videos and loving them. I recently bought my first DSLR. After following you and a couple of others for about a year on RUclips I decided it was time to purchase and it's all your fault I'm up early in the morning, going for a hike in the woods or hitting the beach and taking great pics. Cheers dude and keep her lit.
I’m going up to sprinkling tarn for the first time early Sat. I remember watching this the first time round! Can’t wait to get up there 👆 young Tom from the past to slightly older Tom in the future 😂👍
I first saw this at your marathon lecture in Manassas (love the way you say that word). Tonight I am showing this and a more recent clip to my wife. I too have a caravan (RV in the USA) and a dear wife that supports my photo habit. Don't know if my wife is more forgiving because I make no money with my habit or if your wife is more forgiving because of all your work and all her work as a result of your habit. Take care. Thanks for the inspiration.
Going to Lake District at the end of april for a week. Hope i get at least one day of decent weather. Only amateur photographer but your channel helps me a lot.
Funny coming back and seeing this first video again, remember when i first found you, only a few videos on your channel but they spoke to me, always loved the presentation and the music. Your images are great. A real difference in the talking speed compared to the slow (Prefered) speed now on your newer videos =)
Boy Thomas you have come a long way! I don't remember how I found you, but so glad I did. You have inspired me to continue on this journey of landscape photography. I'd love to make it to the lake district one day ad maybe shoot in the same location you did. I was in England last week but lake district was to far from London for us to drive there. Have enjoyed all of your vlogs and enjoy all the new ones.. :-)
I've followed you on RUclips but never went back to see how it all began until now, you can certainly tell it's the same person after all these years but the production has certainly stepped up a lot 😆 All the best Thomas
I just finished watching all your vids. Really great stuff and inspires me to pick up my camera again and shoot. I actually have a few spots I know I want to shoot. Just a matter of driving/ hiking to them
Another splendid video my friend, was hoping that second image was captured, it's looked awesome. As Joe Cornish would say "you have all the time in the world" great stuff 👌
Out of curiosity, how many 'trial' videos have you recorded before you published this one? It couldn't have been the first ever video you recorded, but if it was, a massive well done, Tom. You are very brave.
Oh no. You just told me I am getting old. I obviously joined your channel with this fiest video (at least RUclips tells me). So keep on going and tell us again after the next 10 years. Looking forward to that!
I came here from your newsletter. While your videos have certainly approved, this really is pretty good for your first RUclips video. Well done and I'm glad you've stayed with it
