Hello, been following your love for the outdoors for a while and your journey. I had to do a map search of this area of the UK. Hard Knot. The map search states that there was an old Roman Fort in that area and has a plaque telling about the Roman Fort. Just had to find out about your area a little bit. Its very beautiful there and quite windy. Love your hiking and camping trips. Love from the USA . Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee

Just discovered your channel and subscribed. You do such a wonderful job with your videos. Very peaceful and calming to watch. Your video production and choice of music is extraordinary! Would love to have a chance to hike in that area. It’s so beautiful and your video composition really brings it to life. Thank you so much for bringing it to the world! I hike in the northeast United States in the White Mountains of New Hampshire which are heavily wooded. We have wonderful views but this is……I’m literally at a loss for words. Very nice drone work also!
Thanks so much for your lovely words 😊 Glad to be able to share a different part of the world with you. I will have to Google the White Mountains, sounds magical ✨
@@FablesandFells The White Mountains of New Hampshire include a range called the Presidentials which, as the name suggests, are named after some prominent US presidents. Washington, not surprisingly, is the tallest at 6288 feet. Not a particularly tall mountain but one of the most dangerous in the world unbelievably. Many lives have been taken on this and surrounding peaks due to the particularly harsh weather conditions that change dramatically in a very short time. This range sits in area of convergence of 3 weather making air masses and when they come together it’s usually quite violent. Mt. Washington used to hold the world record for the highest wind speed ever recorded on earth. There are signs at tree line for all the trails that say that this area experiences some of the harshest conditions in the world and that you must be prepared for the environment or turn back now at your own peril. Many an experienced hiker has scoffed at those signs because they’ve scaled much higher peaks and have unfortunately lost their lives. Very challenging hikes to say the least but incredibly rewarding and fun. 🙂
Ahh of course. Thanks for that. Oh that's very sad. Unfortunately that happens over here too, particularly Scottish peaks in Winter. There doesn't need to be a great height to have some truly harsh conditions.

Thanks John! Yes, I was just saying to someone else it's amazing when you stop and think of all of the people who have trod these paths for thousands of years. My pitch was close by to the Roman fort - just imaging them being station there.
Wonderful video. I don’t know if it would help but maybe score yourself an Infrared Monocular for those overnight stays. A quick sweep of the landscape might give you peace of mind when your dog feels unsettled. (Edit) I noted other comments as well about IR. Sorry I should have read those first.

Living in Germany I´ve spent 2 weeks in the 90s in the lake district when I was a boy scout. I´m going to come back for the first time next week and I´m so excited! Thank you so much for this beautiful video!
Hi Chloe. I came across your channel for the first time and really enjoyed the quality of your video both visually as well as content wise. Living here in Canada, we also have wonderful and spectacular geography and sights to see during our drastically different seasons from minus 35C to positive 40C from winter to summer with Fall and Spring also being quite distinctive. Your aerial coverage with drone footage is most amazing and grips the mood and atmosphere of the place. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Cheers.
Hi Chloe, just discovered your channel, beautiful video and spectacular scenery! I watch a few channels that feature these areas (hiking/camping and motorcycling) and I can't believe the beauty of the place. As I'm stuck at home with a back injury ATM I guess it would be irresponsible of me not to binge and catch up on your travels 😊 Greetings from Melbourne, Australia...

Just found your channel - lovely video and Hard Knott is one of my favourite places too. The views over to Crinkle Crags, Bowfell and the Scafells is the best in the Lake District. One little tip as a fellow MSR owner - the cross pole is meant to go over the main pole, not underneath it. It's a lot stronger this way as the tension is spread throughout the whole tent structure and not through the plastic clip. MSR don't really make this as clear as they should do in the instructions!
Haha thanks, I know it's a specific way but usually zone out and forget. I tend to pick very low/no wind nights but will do my best to remember that for future pitches 🙏
Hi Chloe, really enjoyed your vlog, as a fellow Cumbrian " immigrant " may I just say, I am so proud of you for showing how a responsible dog owner should behave when on the fells, Cam is lucky to have you, as you are him, some vloggers fail to recognise that these beautiful fells are and have been for centuries the place where many families make their livelihoods, largely through the raising of sheep, predominately the native Herdwick, who live wild and free for most of the year on our beloved fells, Sheepdogs are some of the most intelligent breeds, they have helped livestock farmers for centuries, because like all carnivores their D.N.A. their natural instincts are those of a predator, note to potential reckless dog owners on the fells :- ( that's how they scare the sheep into doing what the shepherd or farmer needs them to do ) domesticated they are, but globally many dogs are shot and killed every year for " worrying " sheep. it was brilliant to see you restrain him when needed, but let him be free when safe to do so, even the sight of a dog in " their home " can mean carnage for a pregnant ewe or newly born lamb, soz, Chloe, on a brighter note, beautiful photography, editing, dialogue and presentation, BRAVO ! Bon chance ! an illustration of what can happen, www.nwemail.co.uk/news/19987680.cumbria-police-reminds-dog-owners-consequences-sheep-worrying/
Thanks ~ yes, it's very sad how many sheep are killed or injured by dogs every year or the dog's go missing because they've ran off chasing something. Never worth it, and I say that as a spaniel owner (aka not a dog best suited to walking on a lead 😅).
It's utterly amazing to see beautiful people, such as yourself, doing the things I'm going to do in the coming years. It's admirable that you're alone in that there's no other person/significant other, besides your faithful doggy. To me, making a journey, short trip or long, either by myself or (if I find her) with my future lovey, would probably be the most soul fulfilling experience (and damn romantic!). At 52 years of age, my daughter will be off making a life for herself in the coming years and so I'll be doing the same, in a way. THIS method of adventure is marvelous. I'm in shape, thanks to ultra trail running, so I'm totally ready to roll! Thank you for posting

Oh I absolutely loved this video. The landscape is practically primordial. You wouldn't be surprised if a mountain Troll or a pack of Orcs walked past! New viewer and new fan. Thank you.
@@FablesandFells I always wondered what the poor Roman soldier who was transferred from sunny Italy to Hardnot Fort had done to deserve it. What a shock that must have been! I once made the mistake of driving the pass in winter at night trying to get from Sellafield to the Mason's Arms at Strawberry Bank. Headlights up off the road and ribbons of ice everywhere! I needed a pint after that!
Ryan and I always say that! They did have mercenaries and auxiliaries coming from all over but yes, must have been such a bleak posting if they came from the med 😅

Thanks for watching 😊
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL.I cannot believe how awesome the brown hues are.Thankyou.
Yes such a beautiful landscape ⛰️
You really captured the essence of this place perfectly with music and film. that was a spooky going on at midnight! I've had similar experiences wild camping, its almost enough to put me off.
Thanks Dave 🙏🏼 Ahh really? Did get the adrenaline going a little 😅
Scary! 😱 I’d have been frightened!
Next best thing to actually being there. I love your hushed, whispered tones. No complaints from the neighbours. Beautifully done.
Haha thank you 🙏🏼
it’ll just be the Hard Knotty Bogey man that startled Cam. He’s always milling about this time of year 👀
👀👀👀
This is the first of your videos I've watched and I absolutely loved it. Very atmospheric, great way to relax when I get rid of the kids to bed. Looking forward to catching up with your back catalogue!
Ahh thanks so much Stephen. Wishing you a nice relaxing evening 🙏🏼

Yes, absolutely. The Wild Isles program has been very inspirational to watch.

I've watched a lot of RUclips but I've rarely ever seen anyone that I've so readily connected with so quickly. You have an amazing on screen presence you are quiet & well spoken. I have subbed your channel & I look forward to watching past videos. God bless you always. Good luck in the future.
Ahh that's lovely, thanks so much 😊 Being quiet has so often been seen as a negative over my life so I appreciate that 🙏🏼
I’m always so excited to find a new channel like this, and imagine where it’s going to go in the next couple of years. Thank you for sharing your adventures! I love Cam!!!❤
Ahh thanks Rusty 🙏🏼 Lots of ideas 😊

Awesome video, very well edited with the right kind of music for these types of scenery.
Thanks Jason 👍
Absolutely spectacular scenery, what a artistic showcase! Breathtaking!!!
Thank you so much 😊 Glad you enjoyed seeing this part of the Lakes ⛰️
I read The Hound of the Baskervilles in my youth, and ever since then I’ve wanted to go camping out on a foggy moor. But in the meantime, thanks for bringing me along for the ride.
Ahh had many of those camps on Dartmoor, hope you are able to get out there ⛺
There’s something mystical about the Isles, I’m sure it’s knowing that people inhabited the land for thousands of years. So rich in history it’s beautiful, thank you for sharing your video and take care from ‘Soggy Southern California’🙏 and I learned a few new words: torch-light and wander-hike 🤗
Thanks John! Yes, I was just saying to someone else it's amazing when you stop and think of all of the people who have trod these paths for thousands of years. My pitch was close by to the Roman fort - just imaging them being station there.
Which isles? Or is it witch

This video is like a peaceful dream.
It's so beautiful and quiet.
My wife and I want to do this one day.
We loved your video keep up the good work. 👍💯
Thanks so much, glad you both enjoyed it 😊
Wonderful video. I don’t know if it would help but maybe score yourself an Infrared Monocular for those overnight stays. A quick sweep of the landscape might give you peace of mind when your dog feels unsettled. (Edit) I noted other comments as well about IR. Sorry I should have read those first.
Thanks 🙏🏼 That's a great idea! I haven't gotten through all the comments so this is new to me, and always useful to have a reminder anyway if not. I will definitely look into that.
Lovely Viewing! Subdued with pleasant background music!
Thanks Mark 😊
You have created a magical atmosphere with the filming and music combined with the natural beauty of the landscape you are exploring. A truly wonderful production of the highest qualiity. Loved it. Can't wait to get back to the Lakes.
Thanks so much Phil, appreciate it 🙏🏼 Wishing you a speedy return to the Lakes ⛰️

Thanks! I ❤️ your films! Greetings from Norway.
Reminds me about the magical feeling in E.F Bensons «The Man Who Went to Far».
Hope for more from you in the future!
Thanks so much 🇳🇴 Norway is stunning, I hope to return. Ahh I haven't read that but sounds interesting!
New subscriber says hello. Had to sub after watching this video. Well made and edited.
Your channel deserves way more attension.
I would say you "have it"......the feel for nature.....and not to mention....you have a calm way of presenting your videos.
Thumbs up immediately and greetings from Norway 🇧🇻

Living in Germany I´ve spent 2 weeks in the 90s in the lake district when I was a boy scout. I´m going to come back for the first time next week and I´m so excited! Thank you so much for this beautiful video!
Ahh amazing, have a wonderful return trip 🙏🏼
Cheers.
Thanks so much Murray 😊 Canada has been on my list for too long, it's absolutely beautiful, I really need to do a trip! 🙏🏼
thanks for sharing, you seem a very nice person x
Thanks ✌🏼
Hi Chloe, just discovered your channel, beautiful video and spectacular scenery! I watch a few channels that feature these areas (hiking/camping and motorcycling) and I can't believe the beauty of the place. As I'm stuck at home with a back injury ATM I guess it would be irresponsible of me not to binge and catch up on your travels 😊 Greetings from Melbourne, Australia...
Thanks so much Dave 😊 Sorry to hear of your injury! I hope your recovery is swift 🙏🏼 Yes I imagine it's quite the tone change from Australia! I'd love to visit though.
Thank you ❤a fan
Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
Thank you I enjoyed that.
I have wild camped a number of times in the lakes and I do miss it.
Thanks for watching. Hope you are able to return 🙏🏼
Thanks! Wow, what wild country! Nice to have a canine friend with you, even if they wake you up
Thanks for watching Gil 😊
I enjoyed the excursion, thank you for bringing us along.
Very nice. Great to see you have your Spaniel
With you. 🏕
He's the best 😊🐾
I love the views from hardknott. Last time I was up there I was doing the 3 peaks challenge and I rode my bicycle between each mountain. Hardknott nearly broke me in the night, but I knew it wasn’t too horrific from there to wasdale.
Great video 🫵🏻👌🏻⛺️
Oh goodness, I don't blame you, it's one heck of a cycling route 😅 That's very good going 🙏🏼
@@FablesandFells yes 451 miles and climbing the 3 peaks in 4 days carrying all my gear was a big effort, but a fun one
Mega effort 🙌🏼
Have just got a rescue dog and am so looking forward to following some of your routes ,love the music .Lovely way to start the day watching your videos . Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for coming along 🐕

Planning doing some wild camping with my son for the first time in a couple of weeks. Thanks for sharing your video - looks superb.
Hope you both have a lovely time 🙏
Thank goodness for algorithms ! Found this last night and I'm hooked !! I was at college in Ambleside for 4 years...its a magical place
Ahh glad you found it, thanks so much for watching. How lucky to be in Ambleside for college!
That's the life to live going on adventures out in the sticks with the dog camping out eating food peacefulness is bliss.
Ahh absolutely ✌🏼
The landscape was so stunning, and not s tree in sight.
Across the other side of the pass, you have Harter fell which does have a forest, but yes generally the higher fells are above the treeline.
@7:30 just look at that lovely glow from the uco Lantern, beautiful
Obsessed with that lantern 😄
Absolutely beautiful, so is your dog and the scenery of course
Great work excellent narration , stumbled across your channel by accident , so glad I did ! 👍

Thanks so much Dan! Your channel looks right up my street, heading over there now 🙏🏼
Hi Chloe, really enjoyed your vlog, as a fellow Cumbrian " immigrant " may I just say, I am so proud of you for showing how a responsible dog owner should behave when on the fells, Cam is lucky to have you, as you are him, some vloggers fail to recognise that these beautiful fells are and have been for centuries the place where many families make their livelihoods, largely through the raising of sheep, predominately the native Herdwick, who live wild and free for most of the year on our beloved fells, Sheepdogs are some of the most intelligent breeds, they have helped livestock farmers for centuries, because like all carnivores their D.N.A. their natural instincts are those of a predator, note to potential reckless dog owners on the fells :- ( that's how they scare the sheep into doing what the shepherd or farmer needs them to do ) domesticated they are, but globally many dogs are shot and killed every year for " worrying " sheep. it was brilliant to see you restrain him when needed, but let him be free when safe to do so, even the sight of a dog in " their home " can mean carnage for a pregnant ewe or newly born lamb, soz, Chloe, on a brighter note, beautiful photography, editing, dialogue and presentation, BRAVO ! Bon chance ! an illustration of what can happen, www.nwemail.co.uk/news/19987680.cumbria-police-reminds-dog-owners-consequences-sheep-worrying/
Thanks ~ yes, it's very sad how many sheep are killed or injured by dogs every year or the dog's go missing because they've ran off chasing something. Never worth it, and I say that as a spaniel owner (aka not a dog best suited to walking on a lead 😅).
lo tranquilo que estaba el perrito en el sofá de casa calentito... venga vamos a la montaña al fresco
Haha yes he loves his sofa time!
What a wonderful camp you had and that view is to die for compared to flat Suffolk. Well done you.
Thanks Matt, so enjoyed that one ⛺
Thanks so much. I hope you have a lovely experience when you get out and hopefully you'll find a like mind the more you do 🙏🏼

Oh I absolutely loved this video. The landscape is practically primordial. You wouldn't be surprised if a mountain Troll or a pack of Orcs walked past!
New viewer and new fan. Thank you.
Haha right! That's how I feel when I walk around 😄 Thanks so much for joining 😊
Oh dear, I was trying to drag these out but this is my last one. Hope to see more of you, Cam and that beautiful scenery again soon. Fantastic 👍
