This lovely video bought tears to my eyes, rekindled memories old, I was in my early twenties when I did a YHA weekend in the Lake District , and like yourself I made my way to Rydal Cave where amazingly the small sticklebacks were swimming around in the pool, it was around 1975 , not been back since and now 70 with disability and mobility issues, these type of walking and camping videos serve as a memory aid, When you are a young person old age seems a good way ahead, I had 23 years in my local Ramblers and YHA group, and went all over the midland shires walking, spent 40 years birdwatching from 1979 to 2018, taking me to some pretty nice places in the UK and further afield, met some amazing people, so like I say your videos and others serve as a wonderful memory of times past, just make sure you enjoy your life to the full, any regrets, only one and that is I never met such a pretty young lady such as yourself when I was out on my walks, I would have shared my Mars bar and Kendal mint cake with you , I was good looking back in those days, Thank you for sharing such a lovely video, now where did I put that box of tissues, Mike West Bromwich 👍👍👍
Aw, I'm so happy to be able to contribute something towards sharing these special places so that lovely folk like yourself can revisit good memories 🙏🏼
Many many moons ago I took my daughter to a carol concert in the big cave , it was all lit by lanterns . Ps we have met before up on the fells . Lovely video it brought back lots of memories .

The fernseas really threw me off, and for me a while I thought you must be living in New Zealand. Untill you came across that Lake District marker. Which was mentioned in title but I overlooked that😅 I had no idea England had this kind of nature as well, or that the Lake District is this big and rugged. Somehow I always pictured it differently and was probably thinking about the Peak District? Beautiful place, and thanks for showing 😊 I enjoyed this a lot.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! What are "fernseas" sorry? Curious 😄 I would absolutely love to visit NZ, especially being such a big LOTR fan. Yes so the Lake District is the largest national park in England at just over 900 sq miles. It's much more mountainous than the Peak. Glad to share a little of it with you 😊
@@FablesandFells ah yes the fernseas 😅 this will sound silly but I was refering to the plants behind you at 1:30, a sea of ferns. I had no idea they grew in the UK in such abundance. It instantly reminded me of the rainforests in New Zealand, which is why my mind went there I guess. Like I said, I had the wrong idea of what the Lake district looks like. Is wildcamping allowed / tolerated there?
Ahh ok haha, yes we have tons of ferns! The grow in the woodland as well as out on the fells - bracken is the most common. It's tolerated so long as you follow the full wild camping ethos ✨
Beautiful scenes. Keep up the good work and to develop your film making....loads of positive energy coming out of those caves... you have inspired me to visit. I am a Wainwright bagger, 58 left now. Looking for new places to explore when I am done 👍 xx
@@FablesandFells yes done Loughrigg... coming up again 23rd September for ten days. Planning on climbing eight Far Eastern fells.... would love some drone footage of my adventures.
Very cool ✌🏼 The entrance to the cave; the sleepy serenity of the still water, the peaceful echo within. It's perfect. The deep green hush of the woods. The world on a summer's dawn, is perfect in its solitude, beauty and tranquility ✌🏼 Special places such as this, are always better visited early, alone and in silence. That's when, if you're lucky; you'll catch a whisper of its magic. If you remain silent, peaceful and still. Don't let hoomanz discover it and build a car park, gift shop and Starbucks 👎🏼
Thank you. Love your words. It's a man made cave and a very popular spot so definitely not a secluded secret (I only share exact locations if they are well known and easily identifiable.) But yes, it's all about the timing 🙏🏼
@@FablesandFells Timing is everything they say. I didn't realise that the cave and entrance pool was man-made. I did say that it was perfect. Now I know, by design. Nonetheless, it's extremely well done. It would be a cool spot to camp beside on a summer evening ✌🏼

Nice!!!
Thanks for watching ✌️
Stunning girl 💝 I love your channel
been there many time with my dog, cant beat the lakes and only an hour away :)
Aw it's a great dog walk, especially if they love a swim!
Beautiful scenes. Keep up the good work and to develop your film making....loads of positive energy coming out of those caves... you have inspired me to visit.
I am a Wainwright bagger, 58 left now. Looking for new places to explore when I am done 👍 xx
Ahh you've got less than me! I've got 77 left. It's a great route up Loughrigg, if you haven't done that yet. Thanks so much
@@FablesandFells yes done Loughrigg... coming up again 23rd September for ten days. Planning on climbing eight Far Eastern fells.... would love some drone footage of my adventures.
@@MountainZulu far eastern is great, really quiet. Done pretty much all of that area. Hope you have a good trip 🙏🏼
@@FablesandFells thank you xx
Very cool ✌🏼
The entrance to the cave; the sleepy serenity of the still water, the peaceful echo within.
It's perfect.
The deep green hush of the woods.
The world on a summer's dawn, is perfect in its solitude, beauty and tranquility ✌🏼
Special places such as this, are always better visited early, alone and in silence.
@@azhiraphale it's an old slate quarry from the 1800s. It was closed in 1920. The quarrying up here in the Lakes spans back to neolithic times, so very much a part of the landscape here.
Beautiful vid, love the music you use. I have been there I love that place but have not swam in the lake. So will put them on my list !!! thanks defo subscribing for more beautiful vids !!
Thanks so much 😊 Hope you enjoy your return trip and swim 🙏🏼

Ooo I like "dark peace" ~ may have to use that in a video title 🙏🏼
Drop some bread in for the fish and they go Wild!
Oh I would love to feed them! I will remember that for next time, thanks 🙏🏼
