The Lake District is my Happy Place, visited Rydal Caves Christmas Day 2021, surprised how busy it was. Then went on to complete Loughrigg, a small Wainwright. Views were beautiful as it was a clear day.
Loved the quality of this video! Extremely well done. I would like more info on how to do this walk. I will be visiting UK/Ambleside for first time this summer so am very unfamiliar with area. I cannot find walk in AllTrails. Can anyone help? Also wondering if roads you were on were for cars and people or just people?
Thank you! The road is the Upper Loughrigg road from Ambleside, which is for cars, but only meant for access (meaning it is not a main or busy road). Hope that helps, and enjoy your visit!
Hi We visited the caves around 2021 time, we walked along Rydal Water and Grasmere and then approached the cave on the right hand side. I saw that you approached the cave on the left hand side. Would you mind sharing the route with me please as the last one was rather long winded. Thanks lovely video by the way.
No problem! Head out of Ambleside on the back road that follows the River Rothay, to Pelter Bridge by Rydal and turn left. Follow this footpath west and after a couple of turns, you should come to the caves. Hope that helps!
Just stumbled across your channel and wanted to say hello. We're creating videos in the same niche so I think it's nice to be familiar with others in the field. I did the Rydal caves walk myself early this year. My video for the walk will likely be out this summer but I liked your take on it in a different season. Good work mate. Subbed
Any winter hikes you recommend for us? We have a yearly tradition of hiking BEFORE sunrise on New Year’s Day to see the first sunrise. The hike needs to be short, but also love a good view and we aren’t scared to climb a little
Hello! Depending on where you're starting, Silver How sounds like it would fit the bill - an easy walk out of Grasmere, but glorious views: ruclips.net/video/iQBBbfWcb6E/видео.html Otherwise, Wansfell is always good, and if the weather is kind, you get great views over Windermere: ruclips.net/video/H6G1DemDyqs/видео.html We also have a soft spot for little Binsey: ruclips.net/video/bOo-xeu0hB4/видео.html Hope this is helpful and let us know how you get on!
Thanks, Dan. Not done the Cumbria Way yet, although we have touched on parts of it towards the end of our Skiddaw film (by Whitewater Dash) and Carrock Fell. We'll have to see if we can do the whole thing, sometime!
This video contains proof that if you announce something (that you’ve just managed to say perfectly) as a tongue twister, you won’t be able to say it again!!
Love the Lake District one of the most beautiful areas of the world, difficult to admit from a Scotsman
Just come back from a 4 day trip to the Lake District, we were at these caves yesterday. Absolutely beautiful
Yes they are!
The gate with the plaque - Mick was a close and dear friend taken so early from us. Lovely video and a place in the Lakes close to our hearts.

Love the Lake District. Stayed over night at some cave near Coniston and the preast hole Patterdale 1984. Best part of the world without a doubt

Made me long to be in the Lakes.
There used to be some golden orfe fish in the water in rydal cave. Wish I knew the backstory of how they got there 😂
Pretty sure there still are - saw a small school of little fish last time I visited, a couple of years ago.
Beautiful walk! Just wondering if you've ever done the Cumbria Way?
