Im from Benue, and my aunt went through this situation while trying to conceive, so she went somewhere in the Southeast for "treatment". She returned 4 months later with TWINS that clearly didn't look like her, her husband, or anyone in the family 👀. I love my "cousins" very much, and take care of them. Everyone in the family knows this, but its a hush topic. Lol
The fact you posted this comment with laughing emojis speaks volumes about your family members. You love your “cousins” - you mean the trafficked children your aunty paid for? Disgusting.
The saddest part is, few years down the line, God forbid a problem arises and a DNA test is contacted, the man confirms he's not the father, but the woman is certain she's the mother without a DNA test because she believed she carried and birthed the child, then she's tagged unfaithful or an adulterer 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Oh dear, you are totally right 🫣 In worst case scenario mother is ki**ed because of suspected cheating and in another scenario, mum ends her own life when finds out she is not a biological parent 😢 .
I was a victim, introduced by a friend who had twin girls at 50. The annoying thing is how adamant they are, knowing it's all fake. The documentary covers every details of their evil operations. It's a really sad situation.
I doubt the women believe that. They probably go along with the lie because think they’re doing the baby a favour if the biological mother is a prostitute, plus they benefit from avoiding the “shame” of not bearing their own child.
It takes a devil heart to do this to someone who is already suffering from conception issues. This just makes my skin crawl and my brain hurts. Life in prison for all involved.
As said in the video, it's not poverty because this has a cost of 3,000+ USD. I googled and found that the average monthly income usually less than 100 USD. So a poor or average person would need to save up for years to afford. Illiteracy also doesn't explain it, in the video it says many of them are educated. As the doctor at the end puts it as well. They're smart adults. They are just desperate for a child. The human mind works wonders in convincing you of a truth you'd like to believe in..
The sad part is Some Women think that they are the problem why they are not getting pregnant. Sometimes its the man, men dont want to accept that something could be wrong with them 2:53 Also, What about adoption? All the children in orphanage homes that need parents this is so sad😢
Many times it is the MAN who is infertile and it is the man's genes that will decide the gender. Some women if they leave their husbands they will conceive elsewhere.
Did that woman say that the DNA came back negative but it takes time? Time for what? To grow legs or wings and fly to the positive DNA side? 🤦🏾 God help us all from this kind of stupidity
When she was cheering when she told the lady she was pregnant, made me so mad and sad at the same time. She is evil, mental for giving hope to desperate women and stealing babies. Please tell me she is locked up😡😡😡
I failed to believe educated people fell for this, either educated and were willing to take the baby that isn't theirs or just not educated at all. Shame and pain respectfully.
I waited fpr almost 18 years ,i heard about cryptic pregnancy in my 7th year of waiting .Fast forward to my 15th year after several failed ivf and surrogacy treatment someone mentioned cryptic pregnancy to me again.I was desperate and mentioned to my hubby ,infact i was shocked at myself for considering it ,well educated ,good job ,travel all over the world and considering cryptic pregnancy ,infact i told my hubby we can do it and adopt the children cos i know the children are not mine .My hubby shut me down infact he could not believe i considered it.We eventually had our children through surrogacy at the 7th surrogacy attempt .I do not judge this women.Infertility is tough in Nigeria.I attempted adoption but it did not work
I'm so sorry for your struggles. I also went through infertility but was lucky IVF worked for me. I am glad you finally got to be a mom! Is surrogacy an accepted practice in Nigeria or do you have to pretend you are the one carrying the baby?
We have 4 boys and are going to do IVF in a few years for a girl/ twin girls since my birth mom was a twin and my husband’s aunts are twins it’s highly possible. My boys desperately want a sister. It’s going to cost so much here in the states but if it works it’ll be worth it. I guess these people aren’t desperate for a gender like I am.
The worst part is there is actually a phenomenon referred to as a Cryptic Pregnancy, its when a woman is actually pregnant and does not know she is pregnant until its time to give birth. Its a real pregnancy that can be found on a scan but for whatever reason the pregnant woman had no idea she was indeed pregnant.
Yeah that's the point behind how this scam works. They know of that, the women are able to fooole Google it, and thus the clinic profits because they hide behind it
As a Nigerian in the diaspora, it's always shocking for me to learn that some Nigerians will use their intelligence to harm our people and undertake these elaborate scams, instead of using their intelligence, determination and sophisticated for good and betterment!
this is absolutely not a scam, the women involved know they are buying someone's child. We should talk about how our society has made it difficult for women with infertility issues to live without shame. That is the issue.
Besides the music in that country is there anything good at all? The entire country is a scam, they hurt outsiders and even their own!! So much greed and corruption🙄
Honestly a lot of Nigerians and other Africans alike suffer from SERIOUS religious psychosis. It’s very easy to convince people who are deeply and desperately attached to religion of other delusions. Religious people are highly susceptible to delusional thinking and scams.
I'm an RN and qualified professional in maternal-newborn specialising in childbirth education, human lactation/breastfeeding, early infancy parenting, attachment and bonding. There needs to be a mass public education initiative beginning in the schools that covers the topics of pregnancy, basic related anatomy, birth, post-partum.
The depths of wickedness in this video sends chills through my spine. I cannot for the life of me believe people can run such an evil scheme and go to bed with a clear conscience. I’m simply speechless.
@ZoeyBe Even when one Google about Nigeria. The first thing that comes out is scamming, fraud, etc. Your country is rotten to the core & the sooner you admit it, the better. Nigerians are doing these scammings all over the world.
@@ZoeyBeThere are good things one can say about Nigerians but the truth is that it’s all over shadowed by the scams and other things Nigerians have done around the world. Nigerians have a bad reputation. This doesn’t mean there aren’t good Nigerians but the light that they carry has been deemed by how they portray themselves. For example if you want drugs in my country. Just find a Nigerian. So therefore they have a bad rep.
I can't imagine, I cannot begin to fathom the trauma of the mothers who's babies that have been taken and they were probably told their babies died during labor. But they were stolen. And now if you've ever delivered in Nigeria, and told your baby died while you were asleep, would you not forever wonder if your beautiful baby boy is out there somewhere? Would you not wonder every time you see a child that would be about his age.

@@thandisilec835 it's sad honestly. I can only imagine how drained many Nigerians are seeing that there are still so many narrow/close-minded people in their country😢
True. But, it's not just that. There are also scam fertility experts in the UK, US, Europe, Asia. Wherever there is the pain caused by difficulty in getting pregnant, there's a person willing to take advantage of the women.
Nigerians in south africa used to act all surprised at the rate of our teenage pregnancy and told us in their country it non existent, i wonder if they know about this scam. I am shocked. This is sad😢
That's because Nigeria is a vast country with so many tribes they're not aware of themselves.when this news becomes public most of them become really surprised due to a difference that could be either with the language or the culture.

Why waist the strength on what is rooted in man domination over woman....join the fight for women empowerment that is already got women force behind it and in line with the Women liberation charge that made a woman Chancellor in Germany, PM in England and chattering the ceiling glass in the US.....this is what has to happen in most of those countries with emerging market title...of which Nigeria is one....need to break from male mindset that reduce Women to unequal status, bar her from development inclusiveness to his detriment. When women join development in Nigeria its acceleration will improve at all level and she can take. Charge of her life think of adoption and force legislation that see her well being. It was a woman that stopped killing of twin at the onset of history in the same region in the video.
As I watch this video I remember the woman that drowned her one year old child in a drum of water and I am just like if adoption was more accepted in this country, that child will surely be alive
Foolish take. Worst is happening in your country and just because your banana Republic country is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things hence why it is not mentioned
I believe there is a certain level of collective psychopathy in the country. Some sort of social contract where evil acts are permissible. I grew up there.
My in-law is now 18 months “PREGNANT WITH TWINS” and still believing this scam. Now she and her husband have been told that the doctor will selectively deliver the twins - the girl will be delivered this year, and the baby boy will wait in the womb and be delivered one year later. The couple remains adamant that they are pregnant. Any advice for them?😊
This is very good knowledge but we truly need to challenge the mindset and culture because that’s what makes these people so desperate I truly pray that a change will come ❤

Religion has played a significant role in this, as many Nigerians hold strong beliefs in miraculous occurrences. But how can one genuinely believe that childbirth can happen solely through a miracle?
Thats why it’s called miracle…its supernatural and cant be explained thats why they believe its a miracle …did mary not give birth to jesus while shes a virgin
I believe in miracles . They are many women that modern doctors have said that they cannot have children then it happens. But believing in miracles and believing in an invisible pregnancy are different

Normalise calling a thing a thing; your country needs you to say this is abnormal and we’ve had enough…more of you need to say that instead of the excuses you keep making, as this emboldens more criminals until your whole country will be overrun by criminals
As a nigerian, I don't really blame them. If you see the way infertility is viewed in this country, you will feel bad for the women. If you can't give birth to your child or are unable to concieve, you are treated like an outcast. The same if you try to adopt as they view adopted children as not their own blood. In church, hearing some testimonies of women who did IVF multiple times until they succeeded, one thing that I noticed correlated with their stories was how extended family members or members of the community will mock them or try to convince their husbands to marry someone else so that they could have children. I just feel that this issue is a social one as in Africa generally, there is this obsession to have children immediately after marriage, and they must be biological. This is bad as it eventually places blame on the woman, which can later lead to depression and suicidial ideation, which forces the women to seek this type of shady business as they feel it removes them from the shame of not being able to have a child.
How about just leaving the marriage? I am an African saying this. Stop thinking that a woman's life only exists in marriage. We used to have such attitudes towards childless married women in the past too. But now women can work for themselves & live fulfilling lives outside of marriage. You guys need to move with the times. Women have so many options now.
I don't think that, I'm just voicing what some members of the community think. I believe, of course, that marriage should not be all and end all, I was just stating what I've heard concerning this.
I have a question with regards to fertility and the Nigerian culture, (and this is based on what I have read in the comment section and watched on the video) why do they blame the woman only for infertility? Is it a cultural thing? Coz there is a chance the man is infertile too.
@skailyralexander No. It's definitely not a cultural thing, so to say, as im not that well versed in the subject. I think from what I've gotten from women's testimonies in church, I'd say it just has to deal with attitudes mostly from conniving in-laws. I think it has to deal with the lack of information regarding male fertility as most people are aware of infertility in females. Hopefully, I will pray that will change. But if you have any questions, you could ask other commentators, as I'm sure they'll be willing to help.😊
What pisses me off more than the scammers is the fact that child adoption is frowned upon. Why? How does that make sense? What logic does a person have to have to find giving an orphan a family bad?
In this case, Might as well just clear the orphanages and miraculously“deliver” a 2 year old “baby”; since they’ve already been pregnant almost that long.
This is one of the best documentaries I've ever watched. Well articulated and delivered. What a shame. It's so shocking and sad at the same time to see women becoming preys to scammers due to desperation. Lord have mercy!
Don't attribute a failure and absence of governance of a country to the world. Nigeria is a failure country without governance. Send Kagame to lead that country, in one year, 95% of all types of scams will disappear. He just close 5600 churches in Rwanda. No single president in Africa has taken a serious decision to close these churches that are putting African people in a deep sleep.
Dr Ruth may not even be a real Doc. If she is, she must be reported to the Nigeria Medical Association. Her medical license should be revoked permanently. This goes against the hypocratic "DO NO HARM".
You are right ✅ i seen on the a news of a Nigerian lady who pretending to be a veterinary here in the UK, she injected a dog with a horse injection and dog almost lost is life.
The tern doctor is highly misused in some parts of the world. It refers to anyone who provides medication to others, even traditional healers and spiritual healers
It's not always education. Sometimes it's desperation. Like the lady in this video who told her husband to go marry. Desperation will make them convince themselves
@@JohnDoeAKA101 The power of desperate and manipulation. Trust me, when people are desperate and spiritual psychosis is involved, they will believe anything.
Around 2011, I was eleven years and I saw a Nigerian movie about this. At the time, Nigerian movies were such a big thing in Kenya. I didn't know that the stealing of babies still happens in Nigeria
This whole “cryptic pregnancy” scam thing is either willful denial or incredible ignorance - or likely a combination. Either way it’s awful and sad and looks so bad for Nigeria.
We Nigerians need to have so many honest conversations with ourselves about so many things. Adoption is bad, but baby trafficking under the guise of a pseudo pregnancy is good? As long as we continue to put pressure on women to marry and have kids, I doubt this can ever change.
@@SnowQueenie I think the person is questioning their logic and rationale. They’re asking how can adoption be bad, yet baby trafficking, and invisible pregnancies acceptable.
@ When the reporter said Abortion is frowned upon in Nigeria, it got me thinking, “Isn’t abortion worse than selling children?”. As bad as it is to sell one’s child, it is better than killing the child.
@brandibrinks1843 They don't sell their kids, if they are, they aren't meant to. Who cares why the kids were given up? Kids are innocent. What's your point?
For me the highlight was the two lucky children who were adopted ❤ and the strong Nigerian fighting against this. The reporter did an amazing job thank you. 😊

I love investigating journalism
InvestigatiVE journalism.
Every scam needs a willing participant to be successful.
It's amazing the simple concept that children are not accessories is hard to grasp.
