I am just starting out and was blessed with the 132 set of Prisma color pencils I am going to be taking some of your classes starting next month. I just wanted to thank you so much for all you do! Question: can you please recommend a good starting paper for me to purchase for the classes? Thanks in advance!
Thank you
What type of brush do you use? Can I use a large fluffy makeup brush?
Waw
Kirsty Partridge Art is there any way you could redo a realistic eye video but do it pencil stroke by pencil stroke on the iris
Why are all her dont's actually good?!
Maria Filippa
Because your actual drawing skills aren't as good as her "DON'T"
and you need to improve your skills to become as good as her "DO" drawings!
✌
Kev27RS no art is good or bad, she’s just giving tips on realism, there’s nothing wrong with the “don’t” side, if you think that’s nice and that’s how you draw, that’s perfectly fine and valid, no one should be forced to change their style
that’s ridiculous, I’m just saying it’s fine to draw on the don’t side, what does that have to do with my skills?
hell bumhole how am I stupid? Practice makes perfect, so if someone does the don’t side they shouldn’t be shamed, they should be encouraged, and it’s completely fine if that’s their style
hell bumhole I don’t even know how this fight started but you’re probably younger based on how you don’t understand people have opinions. And on how you tell him to kill him self you obviously don’t know what you say people may take personally.
Actually, it isn’t AS hard as you may think. Of course, drawing realistically takes much time and practice but if you don’t overthink it, it’s actually much simpler if you just remember the basics and don’t get overwhelmed or jealous by someone who as been drawing like that for years. Take your time and practice a lot💝 EDIT: I’m glad to know that I’ve managed to motivate so many people!💗
Thank you!
Thank youu 😍 Now I am more motivated and I will try and practise more 🤗👍
Thanks alot😊💛

When I draw eyes with color pencils they always look so ugly, but I'm determined to learn
That's it... U have what u need.... Determination 😊😊🙌🙌
allison hi army
It's ok it was the same with me ...I was like I didn't had any relation with drawing 2 years ago ...but now I get praised so much..and I love my drawing..even though there are not that realistic ..but I am improving a lot...so keep drawing ❤️😊
This really help me with the eye color and the pink in the eye.
I can’t tell you how much I love your work! Even having been to art school, I still felt like I learned something from this video! It’s the perfect blend of a ‘speed-thru’ and a ‘talk-thru’! I’m a very impatient tutorial watcher, and generally fast forward thru most vids for a glimpse at the beginning, middle and end to get the basic idea. But you impressed me when I realized I had just watched all 15 minutes and still wanted more! I am now a subscriber and WILL be watching all your tutorials!
There just aren’t many people who have the talent and skills AND the ability to share their creative process who ALSO have the personality to be able to comfortably narrate exactly what you are doing in each step of the piece, as its being done in speed-thru for us, without ever becoming repetitive or obnoxious!
THANK YOU!
Anyone else still trying to achieve the dont
I have already achieve it! For now, I will achieve the Do's
Excellent tutorial Kirsty. I bought the pencil sharpener you recommended; what a difference it has made. I had no idea my pencils weren’t as sharp as they needed to be. Thank you again for the great recommendation and all your great tutorials.
What sharpener did she recommend?
@@ertfgghhhh The sharpener is in her description. She said “ I will link the tools I use in the description “
Step 1:Have drawing skills
Step 2: Take a paper and pencils an start drawing 👍
And to get skills you need practice
Truly amazing work. Such attention to all the little details makes all the difference. It was a joy to watch.
i needed this id never use my colored pencils cause of not knowing what to do with them in terms of how to blend
I'm looooooving these tutorials! I'm a newbie so thank you for the videos! They are awesome!
You are really incredible and the way you explain your technique is great. BTW, your drawings are magnificent.
I have an art baseline assessment and we're drawing eyes, very helpful, thanks!
I really like your sketch
And I've made one for myself
Thank u soo much🙏
God bless ya
And ur voice is sweet btw 😃
And ur way of explaining details is very simple and easy
Thank u very much again
Thank you Kirsty! I wanted to come back to this video and leave a post because this was THE transformational video for me that took my colored pencil art in a whole new direction. Prior to watching this I had no idea how realistic they could be. Just implementing the simple instruction on what to do (and not do) with layering and blending has produced amazing results and a lot of comments like "I thought it was a photo". Thank you again.
Your don’t is 20 times better than mine 😂😂
edit 2 years later: how did y’all not understand it’s an exaggeration y’all weird asf
Mimishki
The don't looks really good honestly!!
Thats sad.
Lmaoo same
20 times better??? That's not even drawing stickman bad...
@Just Some Gay. She isn’t trash, I would like to see YOU draw and I bet she can draw better than you
Hi Kirsty, thanks for the tutorials, they are so incredibly helpful. I've recently started learning coloured pencil portraits and I'm loving it. These hints and tips are very useful and it's great to have them available to watch again and again. Thank you so much!
This is definitely the kind of tutorial of do’s and don’ts I really, REALLY needed
WOW! Just WOW! Fantastic, Kirsty! As usual! Love your work!
OMG! when she is doing don’t, I think it’s good enough. Then the do, that is like a real eye staring me!! especially the white part of the eye
Outstanding Kirsty!! Loved this one too👏👏👍💖
well it is right that all ways ''draw light till you know it's right''
This is amazing. There so much fluidity in the way you draw. Very inspiring.
Hi Christy! I love your talent and for sharing it with me! I look forward to trying out your new course. Thank you so much for sharing a natural talent I wish I had. :)
"DON'T DO THIS..." ..................... **proceeds to draw perfect lashes on the 'DON'T' eye** ...ok then.
I'll get to the don't level one day.
The way you explain the technique is really great. Your video is helpful
Thank you for this video
Awsome love the highlights with white gel pen i use this a lot
I really enjoyed this. You hit all the typical weak spots beginners have and did a great job of demonstrating how to correct those mistakes. Well done!
great tutorial Kirsty I have found this to be most helpful, Thank you so much 😁😉
Thank you so so much for this! I was practicing so much and it never really looked realistic, with you’re tips I’m finally kinda proud!!! It really helped!!!
It is just amazing
Omg! This was totally awesome and worthy to watch! You are awesomeee
The "grays in the blue" helped me color some overalls lmao
And it looks real!
Her: *Using pro artist colored pencils*
Me: *Sees the world colored pencils in title and looks over at my crayons and crazart colored pencils..*
..it hurts so fucking bad. Lol.... i need to save up for the good stuff
You dont need to use expensive pencils. I have managed to do really good portraits with whs coloured pencils and white pastel pencil. when i do the skin and to get the blend i put white down first then build skin tone, then when i have skin tone built up, i use the white pastel and lightly press to blend a bit more. Works wonders when you dont have access to expensive pencils.
she's also made some vids using cheap coloured pencils and the outcome was pretty cool. ♥
Seriously, am really impressed watching this video... Thanks for sharing the knowledge
Loved it
This is very helpful, you are very talented... Thank you so much for the help!
This is an amazing tutorial!
Love it so much!!!!
it’s amazing
Thank u so much🎀Brilliant and easy to follow along and now i know more how to draw an eye😍Love ur videos and keep going!!
Usually my problem with these tutorials are that the artist inoy focuses in the picture there drawing not eyes in general... But u spoke about general mistakes people make so this is a really good video!!
Wow she the only one that teach me something new everyone teach the same thing when I all ready know and I learn some today.
thanks for tips really helped me out

I think this deserves a like from me because this is a genius work and how realistic this is
Really you helped me for making eyelashes first it is difficult for me to do but now I can draw it nicely 😊
I'm in love with learning from u...thanks so so much for ur superb lessons...wish I could paste my drawing here ...still it's hard to believe that I made that it actually looks realistic...it took hours but I didn't give up and tried hard...it came out awesome...😘😘😘
Can u do a video on how to make both the eyes the same or at least pretty similar pls, I'm really struggling with that so it would help a lot!
Makoccino made a video on how to draw both eyes evenly (that's the title) it's really good, I think you should check it out!
Sydney K Cole
Oh thank you!
Check out makoccino because she made a video that helped me a lot so
One simple tip that always helped me was to draw both eyes at the same time. Just doing little bits on each eye equally instead of fully finishing one eye and moving onto the next sincerely helped me a lot! ^^
Amazing. How can you be this great? 😊
please , be precise in your title that you're drawing a REALISTIc eye because if our style isn't realistic, the version "don't " can be charismatic in another type of art! i don't know if you see what i mean ( i'm french so maybe i've made some mistakes SORRY)
Elise Vasselin i agree!!
MoonlightFans you're correct... Just common sense really.. Realistic or not it's still based off basic anatomy. How can you draw a non-realistic eye if you don't have an understanding of drawing a realistic eye 😂
Igtdja but Moonlight wasn't saying the commentor was wrong, just suggesting that in non realism you still need an understanding in realism so Kirtsy's video is fine. To draw a cartoon eye you kinda have to know anatomy and what a real eye looks like.
I see your point since I draw realism and anime style, but you can kind of tell by the thumbnail that it's realism we're looking at. I was more bothered by the "a eye" instead of "an eye" haha. ;)
Exactly what i thought
Amazing
Awesome 😱
You make so beautiful drawing thanks for telling us
Super fantastic drawings.. all your videos are wonderful,
Thank you this helped A lot

Millrud12 not from a professional standpoint
Naturally, i already knew how to draw but i needed to learn this type of coloring. Im so tired of drawing using only pencils and tech pens. Thank you for your tutorial.
Hi Kirsty. I learned a lot on your videos. But I'm only using one pencil but I guess it will work for me. Thanks a lot!
